in Bewegung setzt.

Device for regulating and reversing steam, gas u. like machines.
EMI1.1
Gas u. Like. Machines in which the machine crankshaft sets the control shaft in motion by means of an adjustable auxiliary or intermediate gear, whereby the position of the control shaft with the cranks, eccentrics or thumb disks actuating the control elements can be easily and conveniently changed with respect to the machine crankshaft. This device is characterized by great simplicity and reliable effect compared to the known ones.
In the accompanying drawings illustrating the invention, Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section and Fig. 2 is a plan view of an embodiment of such a device.
On the machine crankshaft a worm wheel b is keyed, which is a pair

sets in motion. These worms c, d are, as the drawing shows, molded in one piece with end journals which run in ball bearings f and sit loosely on a non-rotating shaft (or rod) f. However, the same cannot move along the shaft f along the same.
The screws c, d can also be mounted separately on a shaft f
EMI1.3
intervene in the worm in a corresponding manner. The entire gear is enclosed by an oil bath (housing) i and the shaft or rod f rests in bearings j in the side parts of this housing. At one end of the shaft f, as the drawing shows,

are ordered or fixed, the latter is moved by means of a fork lever in the longitudinal direction.
The mode of operation of the device is as follows: If the shaft or the rod / is shifted lengthways with the machine crankshaft a stationary or intended to be stationary for the purpose of explaining the effect, then, since the worm wheel b is stationary at the top, the rotatable on or with the shaft snail pair c, d secured against longitudinal displacement on the switch due to the engagement of the worm c in the wheel b
