Since with this arrangement the adjustment of the drive elements for the auxiliary device of the grinding wheel support is dependent on the table movement, the grinding wheel support could only be ordered automatically when the work piece moves back and forth on the grinding wheel, i.e. H. the work table was moved back and forth.
In order to enable automatic provision of the grinding wheel support even when the work table is inclined, a worm wheel 27 is arranged on the shaft 14, which worm wheel meshes with a toothed wheel 28. A crank 29 is hinged to the latter, by means of which a link 31 swinging around the pin 30 is moved up and down. If the grinding wheel support is to be provided automatically when the work table is at a standstill, the rack 22 is pulled down from the setting 21, pushed onto the setting 31 and fastened at any point on the same by means of the screw 32. The other drive elements 23, 24, 25, 26 remain in their original position.
Only the coupling 15 is brought into the central position so that it is not connected to any of the bevel gears 12 and 13, with the result that the wheels 11, 8, 9 and thus the work table 6 are stationary. When the machine is started, the shaft 14, worm 27, gear 28, the gate 31 is moved up and down and thus the gear 4 is continuously adjusted by the lever 26, which results in an automatic provision of the grinding wheel support despite the stationary work table Has.
If the automatic feed of the grinding wheel support is again to be made dependent on the back and forth movement of the work table, then only the toothed rack 22 is required

to be coupled with one of the bevel gears 12, 13, whereupon the adjustment of the wheel 4 and thus the filling of the grinding wheel support is effected in the manner described above by the stops in, j attached to the work table.
