Device for converting a rapid rotary motion into a reciprocating motion
Move.
The subject matter of the present invention is a device which allows, in the simplest and safest way, to convert the rotary motion of high-speed engines into the helical motion or into the exclusively reciprocating motion, without gears, worm gears or anything else subject to rapid wear Having to use intermediate links. In this device, two engines rotating in the same direction, steam turbines, rotary steam engines, but advantageously electric motors are provided whose numbers of revolutions are increased and decreased alternately from one another.
The power machines via @@ a @ en their rotary motion on a screw system, one part of which, for example the nut, is firmly connected to one motor, while the other part, for example the screw body, is connected to the other motor in a displaceable but relatively non-rotatable manner is. With this arrangement, the difference in the number of revolutions of the two motors causes, depending on which motor has the higher number of revolutions. a rotating and reciprocating movement of the displaceable screw part to which the device to be driven is also connected.
EMI1.1
Screw nut b firmly connected, which can be stored in comb bearings c.
In the screw nut b, a screw d is slidably mounted on a shaft e of a second motor /. The screw d is prevented from rotating about the shaft e by the fact that the outer end g of this shaft is square. The rotation could also be prevented by tongue and groove or in some other suitable manner. Firmly connected to the screw d, preferably consisting of one piece with the same, is a hollow rod h into which the square end 9 of the shaft e protrudes. The linkage of the device to be driven, the working machine or the like is coupled to this rod in such a way that both the rotary movement and the to-and-fro movement or only the to-and-fro movement is transmitted to it.
The supply of current to the two electric motors a, and f is regulated by control resistances of a switching device i such that the number of revolutions of the
EMI1.2
device takes place automatically from any moving part of the machine.
In the illustrated embodiment, an arm k is provided on the head of the rod 7, which only participates in the back and forth movement of the screw d, which arm k

One of the roles the movement is transferred to the switching device with appropriate translation into the slow speed, the training of which is assumed to be known.
If, with the arrangement described, both motors a and f run in the same direction of rotation and with the same number of revolutions, then an effect, i.e. H. a shift of the screw d does not take place, since in this case a movement between the nut collar
Screw d does not enter, both rather form a body to a certain extent.

the screw c! moved to the right, while it is moved to the left when the motor / rotates faster. At the moment the movement is reversed, both motors run with the same number of revolutions. In each case, the greater the difference in the number of revolutions of the two motors, the faster the screw d is moved.
The difference in the number of revolutions of the motors is expedient by simultaneously increasing the number of revolutions of one motor and reducing the number of revolutions of the other
Motors brought forth. This ensures that the number of revolutions of the engines in the
Close to the normal number of revolutions, so that an unfavorable load and thus a significant reduction in the efficiency of the motors is avoided.
