Verkleidung von Leuchtstofflampen
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Covering fluorescent lamps
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
By arranging lights next to and behind one another with the cladding according to the invention, elegant light strips are achieved which, like the single light, have a high degree of efficiency.
Further details of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, which illustrates some exemplary embodiments of a cladding according to the invention, each schematically in cross section, in FIG. 3 in longitudinal section.
In FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 triangular claddings are illustrated which have curved side surfaces 1 and the corners of which are rounded off. The fluorescent lamp is denoted by 3 and the armature receiving the ballast is denoted by 2. The cladding is held in place by side parts 6. The best lighting results are achieved with a triangular cladding whose sides are curved in such a way that the center of curvature is located approximately in the opposite rounded corner of the cross section. Sides of the cladding curved in this way prevent light discoloration.
To facilitate assembly, the cladding according to FIG. 2 adjoins the armature 2 of the fluorescent lamp 3 that receives the ballast. The fitting can be provided with a reflector 5, so that the light yield is increased downwards.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the cover is arranged rotatably around the fluorescent lamp 3, so that a light yield can be achieved in a desired direction. The rotatable arrangement of the cladding requires a straight fluorescent lamp. However, the other forms of the cladding are suitable for both straight fluorescent lamps and circularly curved lamp shapes. Such a circularly curved lamp shape is illustrated in FIG. 4. The cladding 7 not only covers the fluorescent lamp 3 through curved side surfaces and a rounded lower edge 4, but also the ballast through the middle part 8. The third, overhead side 10 of the cladding is made of sheet metal and serves as a reflector. It is shaped towards the top to form a casing 9 for the ballast.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Cladding of fluorescent lamps for longitudinal and round lights, characterized in that the cladding extends parallel to the fluorescent lamp and encloses it for the most part or in its entirety and that it has the shape in cross section. of an equilateral triangle with outwardly curved sides and rounded corners, the focus of which lies approximately in the center of the cross section of the fluorescent lamp.
