<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Device for triggering the shutter or the drive with a photocell and
The invention relates to a device for triggering the shutter or the drive in photographic or cinematographic cameras equipped with a photocell in addition to a moving coil instrument, in which the shutter or the drive can only be triggered when the pointer of the moving coil instrument shows a certain deflection.
According to the invention, there are in particular stops on both sides forming the limits of the control range of the exposure, between which the pointer of the moving coil instrument is freely movable and controllable, and outside the area of which the pointer of the instrument is held, and the shutter or drive is not triggered can be. Hiedureh, it is possible to change the setting of a camera in the course of the recording process to make adjustments or fine adjustments. B. is of great advantage for panoramic shots or for subjects with changing brightness.
According to the invention, a recess is expediently provided in a plate for the pointer of the moving coil instrument, the displacement of which for the purpose of triggering the shutter or the drive of the camera is only possible if the pointer is located within this recess. In the case of devices for fully automatic exposure control, this recess is dimensioned according to the length determined by the two-sided limit deflections of the pointer. In the case of devices for semi-automatic exposure control, this recess can optionally be as narrow as this is caused by the middle position of the coincidence pointer.
The plate with the recess expediently cooperates with a rear support near the pointer, running concurrently with its path but not touching it, in such a way that this support is also arranged as a stop for the pointer or for this plate. It is possible to have a coincidence mark for the camera through a window in the upper camera wall

conditional outermost positions of this pointer to make visible. This window arranged in the top wall of the camera can be used for semi-automatic exposure controls, e.g. B. only have the coincidence mark, but also two lateral tolerance marks.
With a known arrangement of scales or marks in the viewfinder, according to the invention, the coincidence mark together with the limit or tolerance marks or the limit marks alone can be made particularly visible in the viewfinder as important special marks.
In the drawing, for example, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown. 1 shows a diagram of a device according to the invention, omitting the camera housing and known structural parts. Figures 2 and 3 show, in plan view, details of a modified embodiment of this example.
It denotes (Fig. 1): 1 the round magnet, 2 the mouth of this magnet, 3 its magnetic field, 4 the rotating coil, 5 the pointer of this rotating coil and 6 the circuit for the not shown

correspond to the mutual limit deflections of the pointer 5. The plate 7 is arranged inside the camera. These mutual limit swings are known to be the ones with their under or. If the exposure to light on the photocell exceeds such a level, the setting of the aperture or shutter of the objective appears to be too low or too large with regard to the blackening factors of the material to be exposed. It is therefore only possible within these limits one
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
to make correct recording.
These limits have an optimum, which is exactly in the middle with semi-automatic. In the course of series recordings, it is often necessary to readjust this optimum separately for individual recordings in this series, which was previously not possible because the known devices do not work independently, but allow the shutter or drive to be released under certain conditions, but block constantly the pointer. If the pointer 5 is within the limits 9 and 10, according to the invention it is z.
B. possible by means of a release button 11, the plate 7 backwards. move and thereby in a known manner by suitable intermediate links with known construction parts, such as springs, levers, rods, curves, slot guides, etc., to trigger the lens shutter or the camera drive. However, if the pointer 5 is outside the limit deflections according to points 9 and 10, i. i. outside the control range of the exposure, the pointer body is located between the rear wall of the plate 7 and z. B. place a support 12 so that a release of the lock or the drive will not be possible. The support 12 is fastened inside the camera.
This support also prevents the pointer 5 from being deformed, because its front surface is designed to run concurrently with the pointer and not to impair its movement. This support also serves as a stop for the plate 7 when the pointer 5 is outside the limits 9, 10 of the control range of the exposure. The length of the recess 8 naturally depends on the height at which the plate 7 is arranged in relation to the pivot point of the pointer 5. A window 13, which may be provided in the top wall of the camera housing, allows a top view to check whether the setting of the pointer 5 or the photocell is within the control range of the exposure for the photographic image to be produced.
Through this window, for example, a middle mark 14 and two boundary marks 15, 16 are visible, as is the pointer 5, e.g. B. in coincidence with the center mark.
In Fig. 2 an embodiment is shown, which is intended for semi-automatic exposure control. The recess 8 is depending on the middle position of use of the Koin-
EMI2.1
and 16 or 15 'and 16' are e.g. B. only attached to the window surface, but it would also be possible to provide it on the plate 7, as is carried out for the mark 14 as a coincidence mark in FIG.
This coincidence position can be seen and adjusted in particular by looking through a viewfinder 17.
With fully automatic mode (FIG. 1), this viewfinder likewise has, for example, the coincidence mark 14 together with the boundary marks 15 and 16 or only these two latter marks. For semi-automatic it will be provided with the two tolerance marks.
The operation of the device according to the invention is as follows:
By means of the window it is possible to easily determine whether z. B. in the case of fully automatic exposure control, the necessary deflection for a correct exposure is available. If this is the case, the release button is pressed and the shutter or the drive is released.
Or you have to change one of the blackening factors in such a way that the pointer of the moving coil instrument comes to rest within the control range of the exposure. In the case of the use of a semi-automatic device, only the coincidence, possibly tolerated, needs to be established, which can now be checked if necessary by inspection and inspection. This and the introduction of a coincidence mark also for fully automatic systems offer greater security for the recorder. It would also be possible, instead of a simple window, for. B. apply a corner mirror.
