Safety device against the leakage of coal gas.
The subject matter of the present invention is a safety device which, when luminous gas flows out into a room, is triggered by an electrical contact device connected, for example, to a diffusion vessel.
The special feature of the invention is that the contact closure influences a permanent magnet which, in the normal position, holds a gas shut-off valve in the open position.
EMI1.1
The use of a permanent magnet is recommended, since an electromagnet would have to be continuously energized, which, apart from the electricity costs, also has various disadvantages in terms of construction and operational safety.
In the drawing, the contact gas shut-off device is illustrated for example.
On the clay vessel 1 forming the diffusion vessel is arranged the membrane 3 provided with a stiffened edge 2, in the center of which the contact arm 4 made of bimetal is attached. The second contact arm 5, also made of bimetal, sits firmly on a slider 6 which is attached to a fixed part of the membrane and therefore does not follow the movements of the latter.
The contact closure affects a relay 10 which actuates a switching device by means of which a permanent magnet 11 is connected.
In the normal position, the permanent magnet rests on the diamagnetic cover of a housing 12 and attracts an armature 14 carrying a shut-off valve 13.
In this position, the gas can flow unhindered through the inlet 15 into the line 16 (FIG. 1).
If the relay 10 is actuated by contact closure, the switching device lifts the permanent magnet 11, the armature 14 drops and the valve 13 closes the passage between the line 15 and 16 (FIG. 2).
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Safety device against the leakage of luminous gas, which is triggered by an electrical contact device, characterized in that the contact closure influences a permanent magnet that holds a gas shut-off valve in the open position in the normal position.
