Safety device for shutting off gas lines when unburned luminous gas escapes. The invention relates to a safety device for shutting off Gaslei lines, with devices that flow when off, that is, when an electrical contact occurs in the area of unburned luminous gas, for example with those devices that rely on the catalytic effect of finely divided Rest platinum.
The special feature of the invention is that the contact closure affects a permanent magnet which, in the normal position, holds a gas shut-off valve in the open position.
Since in such a device the magnet must be effective for the entire duration of normal operation, the use of a permanent magnet is given because an electromagnet would have to be continuously energized, which, apart from the electricity costs, still have the most diverse disadvantages in in terms of construction and operational safety.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown and is described below with reference to it.
The two bases 2, 3, of which one base 3 is pivotable and carries a pointer 4 which plays on the arc scale "o. On each of the two bases, are fastened to a base board 1 (FIG. 1) which is advantageously made of insulating material a bow-shaped bimetal strip 6; 7 is attached, between which the contact pin 8 can close the circuit connected to the bimetal strip with the power source 9. The distance between the contacts can be set precisely by turning the base 3 and controlled by means of the pointer 4 .
The bimetallic strips are to be arranged in the room of the gas consumer; on the underside of the bimetallic strip 7 a pill 10 made of gas-absorbing substance (for example platinum black) is placed directly on, so that the heating of the same is transferred directly to the strip when the luminous gas escapes.
In the circuit of the power source 9, an electromagnet 11 (Fig. 1) is switched on, the armature of which is connected to a permanent magnet 12.
In the normal position, the permanent magnet rests on the diamagnetic cover of a housing 13 and attracts an armature 15 carrying a closing valve body 14 from.
In this position, the gas can flow unhindered through the outlet 16 into the line 17 (Fig. 1).
When unburned gas flows into the room due to the catalytic effect of the gas-absorbing substance, the same is heated and by means of the contact pin 8 contact closure between the two bimetallic strips 6, 7, whereby the circuit with the power source 9 is closed, the electromagnet 11 is excited, its Armature attracted and thereby the permanent magnet 12 is raised. The valve armature 15 falls off, and the valve closes the passage between the lines 16 and 17 (Fig. 2).
