   Der Gegenstand der Erfindung soll dem Übelstande abhelfen, dass Nummernschilder an Kraft- fahrzeugen infolge Verstaubens und Versehmutzens unleserlich werden. Selbst wenn das   Nummern-   schild rein ist, geschieht es häufig, dass infolge Blendens durch die Liehtstrahlen der   Nummernlampe   bei schnellfahrenden Kraftfahrzeugen die Fahrzeugnummer nicht zweifelsfrei erkannt werden kann. 



   Das Schild gemäss vorliegender Erfindung beseitigt diese Mängel. Es ist auf der Zeichnung in
Fig. 1 in der Ansicht, in Fig. 2 im Querschnitt dargestellt. 



   Das Nummernschild ist gemäss der Erfindung als ein nach vorn vollständig offenes Gehäuse a ausgebildet. 



   Die aus festem Material gefertigten Erkennungszeichen b sind an der Rückwand c des Gehäuses nach vorn freistehend erscheinend in einem gewissen Abstand von der   Rückwand   mit Hilfe von Stützen d befestigt. 



   Durch diese Vorrichtung ist ein Unleserlichwerden der Erkennungszeichen infolge Verstaubens oder Verschmutzen ausgeschlossen, da die freistehenden Ziffern immer noch als selbständige Körper im Raume erkennbar sind. 



  Die Beleuchtung dieses Nummernschildes ist derart, dass das in einer Aussparung t des Gehäuse- rahmens gelagerte Licht den Raum zwischen der Rückwand und dem Ziffernkörper beleuchtet, so dass die Erkennungszeichen vor der beleuchteten Rückwand stets als dunkle Körper erscheinen.
