The invention relates to a drawer locking and releasing device for such cash registers in which a special drawer is provided for each seller.
Of the previously known machines of this type, the keys used to release the drawers are arranged in a single row, so that a key in this row of keys has to be pressed down to open a drawer.
According to the invention, this known device for cash registers with several, z. B. three rows of special keys have been modified so that the release of a drawer also occurs when a key is pressed in one of the other two rows of special keys.
In the drawings, FIG. 1 shows a cross section of the cash register immediately to the right of the third row of release keys; FIG. 2 shows a side view of the setting elements for the drawer locking and releasing device which cooperate with the first and second rows of release buttons; FIG. 3 shows the rear view of the drawer locking and release device; 4 shows a detail in a perspective view; 5 shows the device according to FIG. 2 in a top view.
For the sake of simplicity, the rows of special keys arranged in threes, for example, are referred to below as special key rows 1, 2 and 3, counted from right to left. Each row of special keys comprises, as usual, nine keys 30 which are displaceable in a bracket 31 carried by transverse bolts 32, 33 and interact in a known manner with an adjusting device consisting of parts 34-52. The push rod 51 of the adjustment device belonging to the row of special keys 3 is articulated on the arm 63 of a toothed sector 55 which engages with the toothing 56 of a toothed rack 57.
This is displaceable at the front end in the guide slot of a cross strut 58, at the rear end in a special guide of the machine frame and is provided here with a second toothing 59 which meshes with a gear 60. The gear wheel 60 is freely rotatable on an axis 61 which is mounted in bearing blocks 62, 63 (Fig. 3) of the machine frame.
The push rods 51 of the adjustment devices belonging to the rows of special keys 1 and 2 are hinged to the arms 64 and 65 (FIG. 2) by toothed sectors 66, 67, of which the sector 66 belonging to the row of special keys 1 into the toothing 68 of a rack 69 the sector 67 belonging to the row of special keys 2 engages in the toothing of a rack 70. Both racks 69, 70 can be displaced at the front end in guide slots in the cross bar 58 and at the rear end in slots in the guide which also supports the rack 57 (FIG. 1). The toothed rack 69 (FIGS. 2, 5) engages with the toothed wheel 72 of a shaft piece 73, the ends of which each engage in a longitudinal slot 74 of the toothed racks 69, 70.
In a similar manner, the toothed rack 70 is also in engagement with a toothed wheel 76 (FIG. 5) which is likewise fastened on the shaft 73 by means of a toothing 75 which, however, is directed in the opposite direction to the toothing 71 of the toothed rack 69. Between the gears 72 and 76 an arm 77 (Fig. 2,5) is rotatable on the shaft 73, which also slides with its rearwardly directed free end in one of the slots of the rear rack guide mentioned several times and through a toothing 78 into a the shaft 61 attached gear 79 engages.
The machine is set up in such a way that only one key can be depressed at any one time from the keys of all three rows of special keys for a checkout. Is this z. B. a key of the special key row 3, as shown in Fig. 1, the more or less large adjustment movement

the adjustment device by the associated push rod 51, the arm 53 and the toothed sector 55 is transmitted in a corresponding amount to the toothed rack 57, which thereby rotates the toothed wheel 60 by a more or less large angle. But since this gear 60 is freely rotatable on the shaft 61, it remains

As can be seen from Fig. 4, both the sleeve 103 of the shaft 104 and the corresponding sleeve of the shaft 108 are provided with a horizontal annular groove 112 in which the oppositely directed pins 115 each of a fork arm 114 attached to a horizontal shaft 113 engage. The shaft 113 is driven by an arm 116 fastened to it, which is supported with its free end on the left end of a double-armed lever 117 according to FIG. This is rotatable about a pin 118 of the machine frame and interacts by means of a roller 119 mounted at its right end with the lifting disc 120 of a shaft 121, which forms the printing unit shaft of the machine and executes a full rotation with each checkout.
In this case, the lifting disk 120 swings out the lever 117 in a clockwise direction, which in turn causes the shaft 113 and the two fork arms 114 to rotate in the same direction. These cause the simultaneous stroke of the two vertical shafts 104 and 108 through their pins 115, with either one of the noses 105 of the shaft 104 or one of the noses depending on whether a key has been pressed in the third or in one of the two other rows of special keys 109 of the shaft 108 comes into effect according to the previous setting of its shaft and causes the release of the associated drawer.
For this purpose, the lugs 105 and 109 of the shafts 104, 108, which are at the same height, interact with a downwardly directed projection 122 and 123 of an arm 124, which is rotatable at the right end (FIG. 4) of the crossbar 94 and is effective one of the two associated lugs 105 or 109 is swung out in a clockwise direction. The lever 124 engages with a laterally bent nose of its free end under the right end of the lever 106, swings it out in the counter-pointer direction and thereby releases the associated drawer.
In the further course of the checkout aisle, the lever 117, the shaft 113 with their arms 114 and thus also the shafts 104, 108 with their lugs 105 and 109 as well as the levers 124 and 106 assume their previous position again, so that the drawer at his inward movement is locked again in the final position.
