Abstract

Proceso y planta para elaborar poliacrilamidas mediante la polimerización de una solución acuosa que comprende al menos acrilamida y ácido acrílico o sales de estos en presencia de iniciadores para la polimerización por radicales en condiciones adiabáticas, en donde la acrilamida y el ácido acrílico se almacenan en el sitio de la planta como soluciones acuosas diluidas en tanques resistentes a la presión, y también el recipiente de mezcla de monómeros y el recipiente de polimerización son resistentes a la presión. La combinación de usar soluciones diluidas de monómeros y tanques resistentes a la presión asegura que incluso en caso de una polimerización involuntaria e incontrolada, tales recipientes no exploten y no haya derrames fuera de la planta en el medioambiente.
