Abstract
Codificador de audio para codificar una señal de audio, que comprende un distorsionador de tiempo (506) para distorsionar una señal de audio que utiliza una característica de distorsión de tiempo variable; un convertidor de tiempo / frecuencia (508) para convertir una señal de audio distorsionada en el tiempo en una representación espectral que tiene un número de coeficientes espectrales; y un procesador (512) para procesar un número variable de coeficientes espectrales para generar una señal de audio codificada, en donde el procesador (512, 1000) está configurado para establecer en forma variable un número de coeficientes espectrales para un marco de la señal de audio sobre la base de la característica de la distorsión de tiempo para el marco de modo que una variación del ancho de banda representada por el número procesado de coeficientes de frecuencia de marco a marco se reduce o se elimina.
