Abstract
Se divulgan procesos para convertir 1,6-hexanodiol en ácido adípico empleando una reacción quimiocatalítica en la cual se hace reaccionar 1,6-hexanodiol con oxígeno en presencia de catalizadores heterogéneos particulares que incluyen al menos uno entre platino y oro. Los metales se proporcionan preferentemente sobre un soporte seleccionado del grupo que consiste en titania, titania estabilizada, circonia, circonia estabilizada, sílice o sus mezclas, más preferentemente circonia estabilizada con tungsteno. La reacción con oxígeno se realiza con una temperatura de aproximadamente 100ºC a aproximadamente 300ºC y con una presión parcial de oxígeno entre aproximadamente 344,74 kPa (50 psig) y aproximadamente 13.789,51 (2.000 psig).
