Abstract
El procedimiento para reducir acetaldehído residual de partículas de polímero de poliéster comprende: (a) cristalizar partículas de polímero de poliéster para producir una corriente caliente de partículas de polímero de poliéster cristalizadas que tienen un grado promedio de cristalinidad de por lo menos 25%, acetaldehído residual, y que tienen una temperatura de partícula en exceso de 90ºC, (b) alimentar en forma continua dentro de un recipiente la corriente caliente de partículas de polímero de poliéster cristalizadas a una temperatura de partícula de por lo menos 130ºC, antes de que la temperatura de la corriente baje por debajo de 50ºC entre la producción de dichas partículas de polímero de poliéster cristalizadas y el recipiente, y (c) alimentar un flujo de gas dentro del recipiente y a través de por lo menos una porción de la corriente de partículas a un velocidad de flujo de gas que no exceda 0,15 SCFM (4250 cm3/min) por libra de partículas por hora para formar un corriente de partículas de polímero de poliéster terminadas que tienen una cantidad reducida de acetaldehído residual en relación a la cantidad de acetaldehído residual antes de la entrada al recipiente y que tiene una V lt. de por lo menos 0,70 dl/g.
