Abstract

La invencion provee un método para eliminar sulfuros de flujos viscosos de petroleo como el asfalto, petroleo crudo, y lechada de petroleo usando octoato de zinc donde la relacion molar de zinc que forma complejo con el ácido octanoico no es 1:2. Como el zinc posee carga +2 y el ácido carboxílico carga -1, se suponía anteriormente que todos los octoatos de zinc deberán tener una relacion de 1:2 de fracciones de zinc con ácido carboxilico. Las formulaciones con octoato de zinc sin embargo, que contienen una relacion diferente a 1:2, y las que poseen una relacion de 2,1:3 a 1,97:3 en particular, en realidad han demostrado un mejor funcionamiento. Además, estas formulaciones con relaciones diferentes a 1:2 poseen menor viscosidad y por lo tanto su uso resulta más fácil que las formulaciones previas incluyendo una relacion de 1:2.
