Abstract
La invención proporciona un proceso para la producción de cloro, hidróxido de metal alcalino, e hidrógeno, el cual comprende los siguientes pasos: (a) preparar una salmuera por disolución de una fuente de cloruro de metal alcalino en agua; (b) retirar los precipitados alcalinos de la salmuera preparada en el paso (a) en la presencia de peróxido de hidrógeno por medio de un filtro de carbón activado, y recuperar la salmuera resultante; (c) someter a por lo menos parte de la salmuera resultante, tal como se obtuvo en el paso (b), a un paso de intercambio iónico; (d) someter a por lo menos parte de la salmuera, tal como se obtuvo en el paso (c), a un paso de electrólisis de membrana; (e) recuperar por lo menos parte del cloro, hidróxido de metal alcalino, hidrógeno y salmuera tales como fueron obtenidos en el paso (d); (f) someter a por lo menos parte de la salmuera, tal como se recuperó en el paso (e), a un paso de descloración; y (g) reciclar por lo menos parte de la salmuera desclorada, obtenida en el paso (f), al paso (a).
