Abstract
Un tapon de cano incluye dos o más cabezas obturadoras conectadas en forma de pivote que funcionan en combinacion para efectuar el doble bloqueo y purga de un cano. Por lo menos una de las cabezas obturadoras tiene un elemento de cierre expansible en comunicacion con una fuente de inflado. El elemento de cierre puede consistir en un elemento de cierre inflable o un elemento de cierre prensaestopas por compresion. Un pasadizo, secciones del cual pueden pasar a través de una conexion de pivote y al interior de la cabeza obturadora, transporta el medio de inflado desde la fuente hasta el elemento de cierre. También se presenta un pasadizo de la boca de descarga que pasa a través de la cabeza obturadora. La cabeza obturadora de avance puede incluir un elemento limpiador para barrer los desechos delante del tapon. Las cabezas obturadoras pueden incluir asimismo una placa deslizante que engrana en forma deslizable con la superficie interior del cano para orientar correctamente las cabezas obturadoras dentro del cano.
