Abstract

La presente describe un proceso para preparar un glicol alquileno a partir de alqueno. La composicion de gas del reactor de oxido de alquileno se pone en contacto con el absorbente magro en el absorbente de oxido de alquileno en presencia de uno o más catalizadores que promueven la carboxilacion. El absorbente magro incluye al menos 50% p de carbonato de alquileno y menos de 10% p de agua y se suministra al absorbente de oxido de alquileno a temperaturas por encima de 60°C. El oxido de alquileno reacciona con el dioxido de carbono en el absorbente, formándose carbonato de alquileno, y el absorbente graso que incluye carbonato de alquileno se elimina del absorbente. Una porcion del absorbente graso se suministra a uno o más reactores de hidrolisis, en el que el carbonato de alquileno reacciona con agua en presencia de uno o más catalizadores de hidrolisis. La corriente de producto del reactor de hidrolisis se deshidrata y purifica.
