Abstract
Se describen construcciones de ADN que dan lugar a la produccion de potentes proteínas antifungicas en plantas transgénicas y células de levadura transformadas. También se dan a conocer métodos para usar las construcciones de ADN para producir plantas transgénicas que inhiben el desarrollo de hongos patogenos de las plantas. Se describe asimismo el uso de células de levadura transformadas que contienen las construcciones de ADN para producir las proteínas antifungica y métodos para aislar las proteínas antifungicas. Reivindicacion 1: Una construccion de ADN aislado que comprende un promotor heterologo, una secuencia que codifica un polipéptido MeDef4 con una identidad de secuencia de por lo menos 85% con SEC. ID. N°:112 y una secuencia de poliadenilacion, donde dicho promotor, dicha secuencia que codifica un polipéptido MtDef4 maduro y dicha secuencia de poliadenilacion están operativamente ligados.
