Abstract
Una disposicion de electrodo de descarga (10) posee un electrodo alargado (78) con un aislante interno (24) dispuesto para una fijacion operable a una estructura de soporte (14). El aislante interno rodea al electrodo con un extremo (90) del electrodo en posicion adyacente a un elemento de conexion a tierra (94) a través de un hueco de descarga (96) y otro extremo (80) del electrodo que se extiende en relacion con una estructura de soporte para la fijacion a una fuente de energía eléctrica. Un aislante externo (54) se encuentra espaciado radialmente hacia afuera desde el aislante interno y rodea al aislante interno generalmente adyacente al extremo del electrodo adyacente al elemento de conexion a tierra. Los aislantes interno y externo contribuyen a inhibir la formacion de una capa de lubricacion continua sobre los mismos, estableciendo de ese modo una superficie generalmente sin la capa de lubricacion entre el extremo del electrodo adyacente al elemento de conexion a tierra y la estructura de soporte.
