Abstract
Se describe un procedimiento para la deshidrogenación de un compuesto aromático de alquilo, de preferencia etilbenceno, a un compuesto aromático de vinilo, de preferencia estireno, que implica deshidrogenar el compuesto aromático de alquilo sobre un catalizador que contiene galio, zinc, opcionalmente metal alcalino o alcalinotérreo, opcionalmente manganeso y opcionalmente un metal noble, depositado sobre un soporte de catalizador, de preferencia una alúmina de transición. Opcionalmente, la corriente de alimentación de deshidrogenación puede contener un alcano, de preferencia etano, el cual es simultáneamente deshidrogenado a un alqueno, de preferencia etileno. El procedimiento de deshidrogenación puede ser integrado a un procedimiento para producir un compuesto aromático de vinilo, tal como estireno, a partir de una base de material de partida que comprende un alcano y un compuesto aromático, tal como, etano y benceno.
