Abstract
Un copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto útil como reductor de resistencia al flujo para hidrocarburos y método de fabricación de un copolímero reductor de resistencia al flujo. Más específicamente, un método para preparar polímeros de peso molecular ultra alto, solubles en hidrocarburos capaces de ser disueltos aún en fluidos fríos. Un método para la preparación de una suspensión de un copolímero reductor de resistencia de flujo. El copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto útil como reductor de resistencia al flujo para hidrocarburos comprende: a) un monómero de alfa- olefina que tiene una longitud de cadena carbonada entre 4 y 9 átomos de carbono; b) un primer co-monómero, el primer co-monómero tiene una longitud de cadena carbonada entre 2 y 20 átomos de carbono o comprende un monómero vinil-aromático, el primer co-monómero es diferente del monómero de alfa-olefina donde el copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto tiene un peso molecular mayor de 1 millón y el copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto comprende en su mayor parte ( contenido molar) monómeros que tienen entre 4 y 9 átomos de carbono y menos del 25% (contenido molar) de monómeros con longitud de cadena carbonada de 12 átomos de carbono o más larga, y además donde el copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto no tiene fracción reluctante cuando se determina por el ensayo de deformación por esfuerzo de corte en frío-filtrado en caliente. Un método para fabricar un copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto útil como reductor de resistencia al flujo, que comprende: a) polimerizar en masa, en ausencia de un solvente, una mezcla de un monómero de alfa-alefina que tiene una longitud de cadena carbonada entre 4 y 9 átomos de carbono con un primer co-monómero, el primer co-monómero tiene una longitud de cadena carbonada entre 2 y 11 átomos de carbono o comprende un monómero vinil-arómatico, el primer co-monómero es diferente del monómero de alfa-olefina, y donde la mezcla comprende por lo menos 50% (contenido molar) de monómeros que tienen longitud de cadena carbonada entre 4 y 9 átomos de carbono, y donde la mezcla comprende no más de 25% (contenido molar) de monómeros con longitud de cadenas carbonadas de 12 átomos de carbono o más larga, y (b) formar el copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto donde dicho copolímero de peso molecular ultra alto tiene un peso molecular mayor a un millón.
