Abstract

Se presentan métodos y dispositivos para detectar la aplicacion de una muestra de fluidos a la superficie de una tira de análisis cuando la tira de análisis está insertada en un medidor optico. En los presentes métodos, se obtienen datos de reflectancia de una porcion del medido optico en el cual está situada la region de aplicacion de muestras de la tira de análisis, donde los datos de reflectancia cubren un período de tiempo que abarca desde un punto por lo menos anterior a la aplicacion de la muestra a la tira hasta un punto posterior a la aplicacion de la muestra a la tira. Luego, de acuerdo con los datos de reflectancia, se determina la presencia de la muestra de fluidos en la tira de análisis. También se presentan medidores opticos que incluyen instrumentos opticos para obtener datos de reflectancia, donde estos instrumentos opticos incluyen por lo menos una fuente de radiacion y un detector de luz. Los métodos y dispositivos de la presente pueden ser utilizados con una variedad de tiras de análisis y son especialmente adecuados para usar con tira de análisis que incluyen un medio para desplazar el fluido, como ser una ampolleta compresible.
