Abstract

Se provee un proceso para preparar glifosato de amonio en polvo adecuado para un procesamiento posterior por extrusion con el fin de elaborar unaformulacion granulada que comprende glifosato de amonio y un agente tensioactivo. El proceso comprende (a) mezclar (i) glifosato ácido solido particulado. (ii)agua en una cantidad de aproximadamente 0,5 a aproximadamente 3 partes en peso por parte de glifosato ácido,y (iii) una base que suministre cationes de amonioen una cantidad de aproximadamente 0,8a aproximadamente 1,25 equivalentes molares de amoníaco por mol de glifosato ácido, para formar un medio de reaccionacuoso; (b) permitir que el glifosato ácido reaccione con la base en el medio de reaccion para formar un producto de reaccion que comprende una solucion acuosaconcentrada de glifosato de amonio; (c) secar el producto de reaccion, por ejemplo con un secador a tambor, para recuperar un solido particulado; y (d)acelerar el solido particulado en un flujo gaseoso turbulento a gran velocidad, por ejemplo en un molino a chorro, para formar, por desmenuzamiento partícula-partícula, glifosato de amonio en polvo con un tamano de partícula promedio de aproximadamente 5 a aproximadamente 20 mm.
