Abstract

Se describe un método para la preparacion de citalopram que comprende la reduccion del grupo oxo de un compuesto de formula IV donde R1 es CN oalquiloxicarbonilo C1-6 o alquilaminocarbonilo C1-6, efectuando el cierre de anillos del compuesto hidroxiresultante, por el cual se obtiene elcorrespondiente 1(4-fluorfenil)1,3-dihidroisobenzofurano, entonces si R1 es ciano, usándolo directamente en el paso siguiente y si R1 es alquiloxicarboniloC1-6 o alquilaminocarbonilo C1-6, la conversion del compuesto en el compuesto correspondiente donde R1 es ciano, y la alquilacion del compuesto 5-ciano resultanto con haluro de 3-dimetil-aminopropilo en condiciones básicas por el cual se obtiene citalopram; y composiciones farmacéuticas antidepresivas quecomprendencitalopram fabricado mediante el método.
