Abstract
Esta invencion se relaciona con un fragmento aislado de ácidos nucleicos que codifica una enzima para la síntesis de carotenoides. La invencion también serelaciona con la construccion de un gen quimérico que codifica toda o una porcion de una enzimapara la biosíntesis de carotenoides, con orientacion en elsentido del marco de lectura o antisentido, donde la expresion del gen quimérico da como resultado la produccion de niveles alterados de la enzima para labiosíntesis de carotenoides en una célula huésped transformada.
