Abstract
Se presentan un acero con alta resistencia a la tension que tiene excelente tenacidad en todo su espesor, excelentes propiedades en lasjuntas soldadas, y una resistencia a la tension (RT) de por lo menos aproximadamente 900 MPa( 130 ksi), así como un método para fabricar dichoacero. Los aceros tienen preferentemente la siguiente composicion en base a % ponderal: carbono (C): 0,02% a 0,1%, silicio (Si): no más de 0,6%; manganeso(Mn) 0,2% a 2,5%; níquel (Ni): 0,2% a 1,2%;ni obio (Nb): 0,01% a 0,1%; titanio (Ti): 0,005% a 0,03%; aluminio (Al): no más de 0,1%; nitrogeno (N): 0,001% a0,006%; cobre (Cu): 0% a 0,6%; cromo (Cr): 0% a 0,8%; molibdeno (Mo): 0% a 0,6%; vanadio (V): 0% a 0,1%; boro (B): 0% a 0,0025%; ycalc io (Ca): 0% a 0,006%. el valor Vs definido por Vs = C + (Mn/5) + 5P - (Ni/10)-(Mo/15) + (Cu/10) es de 0,15 a 0,42. P y S entre las impurezas están contenidos en cantidades nosuperior a 0,015% y no más de 0,003%, respectivamente. El tamano decarburo en el acero no es superior a 5 micrones en direccion longitudinal.
