Abstract

La disposición incluyeasimismo un inflador para presurizar el interior de la pieza estructural para aumentar la rigidez y la resistencia axial o al pandeo de la pieza estructuralante la colisión oreducción rá pida de la velocidad del vehículo automotor. El inflador puede producir gas de inflado para presurizar la pieza estructuralproveniente de diferente fuentes, que incluyen la combustión de un generador de gas pirotécnico sólido o ladescarga de un gas almacenado. Además, el infladorpuede ser puesto en marcha por diferentes iniciadores, incluyendo por ejemplo, un detonador iniciador eléctrico conectado a un detector de reducción de lavelocidad remoto o un émbolo iniciadordeprimible en alineación con un puntal del paragolpes. El inflador se puede utilizar asimismo para inflar un cojín debolsa neumática de un módulo de bolsa neumática además de presurizar la pieza estructural.
