Definitions
- the present invention relates to a measurement device, a measurement method, and a program.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a power monitoring device that displays the accumulated amount of power.
- the accumulated amount of power being measured is stored in volatile memory. If the power supply to the volatile memory is stopped, the stored accumulated amount of power is lost. For this reason, measuring devices are equipped with batteries so that power measurement can continue even if the power supply from the power source is stopped due to a power outage or other reason. However, some measuring devices do not include batteries in order to reduce the cost of the measuring device. With such measuring devices that do not include batteries, if the power supply from the power source is stopped, the accumulated amount of power being measured is lost, making it difficult to continue measuring the accumulated amount of power. The electricity usage fee for the lost accumulated amount of power is borne by the equipment installer.
- the present invention was made in consideration of the above-mentioned problems, and its purpose is to provide technology that makes it possible to continue measuring the accumulated amount of power even when the power supply is stopped.
- a measuring device comprises a measuring unit that measures the amount of power supplied from a specified power source, a volatile first storage unit, a non-volatile second storage unit, and a control unit that sequentially stores an integrated amount of power obtained by integrating the amount of power measured by the measuring unit in the first storage unit and stores the integrated amount of power stored in the first storage unit in the second storage unit at specified intervals.
- a control unit that sequentially stores an integrated amount of power obtained by integrating the amount of power measured by the measuring unit in the first storage unit and stores the integrated amount of power stored in the first storage unit in the second storage unit at specified intervals.
- the control unit stores the accumulated amount of power stored in the second storage unit in the first storage unit.
- the control unit By writing the accumulated amount of power stored in the second storage unit to the first storage unit, it is possible to restore the accumulated amount of power stored in the first storage unit.
- the second storage unit stores a plurality of the accumulated amounts of power, and when the supply of power from the specified power source is stopped, the control unit calculates an estimated accumulated amount of power at the time the supply of power from the specified power source was stopped based on the plurality of accumulated amounts of power stored in the second storage unit and the time the supply of power from the specified power source was stopped, and when the supply of power from the specified power source is resumed, the control unit stores the estimated accumulated amount of power in the first storage unit. By writing the estimated accumulated amount of power to the first storage unit, it is possible to restore the accumulated amount of power in the first storage unit.
- the specified interval is set based on parameters related to rewriting of the second storage unit. This makes it possible to set the specified interval appropriately.
- the parameters include the guaranteed number of rewrites and the guaranteed number of years.
- the guaranteed number of rewrites is, for example, the number of times data can be rewritten normally.
- the guaranteed number of years is, for example, the number of years for which the performance of the second storage unit is guaranteed.
- the above-mentioned measuring device does not have a battery. It is possible to continue measuring the accumulated amount of power in a measuring device that does not have a battery.
- the present invention can also be understood as a measurement method that includes at least part of the above-mentioned processing, a program that causes a computer to execute at least part of the above-mentioned processing, or a computer-readable recording medium on which such a program is non-temporarily recorded. It can also be understood as a measurement system that includes at least part of the above-mentioned processing.
- the above configurations and processing can be combined to form the present invention as long as no technical contradictions arise.

- the measurement device 1 has a connection unit 11, a control unit 12, a measurement unit 13, a first memory unit 14, a second memory unit 15, and a communication unit 16.
- the connection unit 11 has at least a plug 21 that is inserted into an outlet provided in a structure such as a wall or building, an outlet 22 into which the plug of a load 3 such as an electrical device can be inserted, and a relay 23.
- the measurement device 1 can be electrically connected to a commercial power source (electric power system) 4 via the structure's outlet.
- the commercial power source 4 is an example of a specified power source.
- the management server 2 may be, for example, an information processing device with communication capabilities.
- the measuring device 1 does not have a battery (storage battery), and power for driving the measuring device 1 is supplied from the commercial power source 4. Therefore, the measuring device 1 is driven by power supplied from the commercial power source 4.
- the measuring device 1 also operates to start (allow) or stop (block) the supply of power from the commercial power source 4 to the load 3.
- the relay 23 is a switch component that can switch between a conductive state and a non-conductive state. The operation of the relay 23 is controlled by the control unit 12. When the relay 23 switches from a non-conductive state to a conductive state, i.e., when the relay 23 is in the ON state (conductive state), power supplied from the commercial power source 4 is supplied to the load 3 via the relay 23.
- the relay 23 switches from a conductive state to a non-conductive state, i.e., when the relay 23 is in the OFF state (non-conductive state), the power supply from the commercial power source 4 is blocked, and the power supply to the load 3 ends.
- the control unit 12 is a controller that controls each part of the measuring device 1, processes signals, performs arithmetic processing, etc.
- the control unit 12 may be configured, for example, by a computer having a processor, storage devices such as memory, I/O, etc.

- the first predetermined interval is, for example, one minute, but is not limited to this.
- the control unit 12 integrates the instantaneous power consumption measured by the measurement unit 13 to calculate the integrated power consumption, and stores the integrated power consumption (power consumption data) in the first storage unit 14. Because the measurement unit 13 measures the instantaneous power consumption at a first predetermined interval, the control unit 12 updates the integrated power consumption in the first storage unit 14 by adding the instantaneous power consumption to the integrated power consumption stored in the first storage unit 14 each time the measurement unit 13 measures the instantaneous power consumption.
- the first memory unit 14 is a volatile memory (volatile storage device), such as RAM.
- the control unit 12 stores the accumulated power amount stored in the first memory unit 14 in the second memory unit 15 at a predetermined timing.
- the control unit 12 may store the accumulated power amount stored in the first memory unit 14 in the second memory unit 15 at a second predetermined interval.
- the second predetermined interval is longer than the first predetermined interval.
- the second predetermined interval is an example of a predetermined interval.
- the second predetermined interval is, for example, 5 minutes, but is not limited to this.

Even when the supply of power from the commercial power source 4 to the measurement device 1 is stopped, the accumulated power amount (retained accumulated power amount) stored in the second memory unit 15 is not lost.

- the control unit 12 may send the accumulated amount of power stored in the first memory unit 14 to the management server 2 at a predetermined timing via the communication unit 16.
- the control unit 12 may send the accumulated amount of power stored in the second memory unit 15 to the management server 2 at a predetermined timing via the communication unit 16.
- the management server 2 may calculate the electricity usage fee based on the received accumulated power consumption.
- the measuring device 1 may be equipped with a display device such as a display that displays the measured cumulative amount of power, or an input device such as a touch panel that accepts input operations.

- the retained integrated power amount [kWh] shown in FIG. 2 is the integrated power amount stored in the second memory unit 15.
- the control unit 12 receives a relay ON instruction.
- the control unit 12 switches the relay 23 to the ON state.
- the relay ON count shown in Figure 2 is the number of times the relay 23 has transitioned to the ON state.

- interval D1 corresponds to the second predetermined interval.
- the control unit 12 receives a relay OFF command and switches the relay 23 to the OFF state. Because the relay 23 is in the OFF state, the power [W] becomes 0 [W] and the accumulated power energy [kWh] stops increasing. Because the accumulated power energy [kWh] has not increased, there is no change in the retained accumulated power energy [kWh] stored in the second memory unit 15.
- the control unit 12 receives a relay ON command.
- the control unit 12 switches the relay 23 to the ON state. As shown in FIG. 2, the power [W] increases to a constant value and the accumulated power energy [kWh] increases continuously. - the control unit 12 receives a relay OFF command and switches the relay 23 to the OFF state. Because the relay 23 is in the OFF state, the power [W] becomes 0 [W] and the accumulated power consumption [kWh] stops increasing. Because the accumulated power consumption [kWh] has not increased, there is no change in the accumulated power consumption [kWh] stored in the second memory unit 15.

- the control unit 12 receives a relay OFF instruction or switches the relay 23 to the OFF state, it writes the integrated power consumption [kWh] to the second memory unit 15. For example, since there is a limit (upper limit) on the number of times non-volatile memory can be rewritten, it is preferable to reduce the number of times data is written to the non-volatile memory. Because the control unit 12 stores the integrated power consumption [kWh] in the second memory unit 15 at predetermined timing, it is possible to reduce the number of times data is written to the second memory unit 15, which is non-volatile memory.
- FIG 3 is a diagram explaining the operation of the measuring device 1 in the event of an abnormality.

- the control unit 12 receives a relay ON instruction.
- the control unit 12 switches the relay 23 to the ON state.
- the relay ON count shown in Figure 3 is the number of times the relay 23 has transitioned to the ON state.
- the power [W] increases to a constant value, and the accumulated energy [kWh] increases continuously.
- the control unit 12 stores the accumulated energy [kWh] in the second memory unit 15 at second predetermined intervals, so the stored accumulated energy [kWh] increases in stages.
- interval D1 corresponds to the second predetermined interval.
- the power outage is resolved and power begins to be supplied from the commercial power source 4 to the measuring device 1.
- the relay 23 is in the OFF state and the power [W] is 0 [W].
- the control unit 12 stores the accumulated power amount stored in the second memory unit 15 in the first memory unit 14. Because the accumulated power amount stored in the first memory unit 14 was lost due to the power outage, the control unit 12 writes the accumulated power amount stored in the second memory unit 15 to the first memory unit 14, thereby restoring the accumulated power amount in the first memory unit 14.
- the control unit 12 receives a relay OFF command.
- the relay 23 is in the OFF state, and the control unit 12 maintains the relay 23 in the OFF state.
- the control unit 12 receives a relay ON command.
- the control unit 12 switches the relay 23 to the ON state.
- the power [W] increases to a constant value, and the accumulated energy [kWh] increases continuously.
- the control unit 12 stores the accumulated energy [kWh] in the second memory unit 15 at second predetermined intervals, so the stored accumulated energy [kWh] increases in stages.
- B1 to B7 in Figure 3 indicate the timing (storage timing) at which the control unit 12 writes the accumulated power consumption [kWh] to the second memory unit 15.
- the control unit 12 When the relay 23 is in the ON state, the control unit 12 writes the accumulated power consumption [kWh] to the second memory unit 15 at a second predetermined interval.
- the control unit 12 receives a relay OFF instruction or when the relay 23 is switched to the OFF state, it writes the accumulated power consumption [kWh] to the second memory unit 15. Because the control unit 12 stores the accumulated power consumption [kWh] in the second memory unit 15 at predetermined timing, it is possible to reduce the number of times writing to the second memory unit 15, which is a non-volatile memory.
- the accumulated amount of power stored in the first memory unit 14 is stored in the second memory unit 15 at a second predetermined interval. Even if a power outage occurs and the supply of power from the commercial power source 4 to the measurement device 1 is stopped, the accumulated amount of power before the power outage, which is the accumulated amount of power for a predetermined period of time from the time the power outage occurred, is stored in the second memory unit 15.
- the control unit 12 restores the accumulated amount of power in the first memory unit 14 by writing the accumulated amount of power stored in the second memory unit 15 to the first memory unit 14.
- the control unit 12 updates the accumulated amount of power in the first memory unit 14 by adding the instantaneous amount of power to the restored accumulated amount of power in the first memory unit 14. In this way, it is possible to continue measuring the accumulated amount of power even if the supply of power from the commercial power source 4 is stopped. Furthermore, even if a power outage occurs and the power is turned off, it is possible to prevent the integrated power amount held by the measuring device 1 from being completely lost, thereby minimizing the loss of the integrated power amount.
- the measuring device 1 does not have a battery. It is possible to continue measuring the integrated power amount in a measuring device 1 that does not have a battery. Furthermore, even if a power outage occurs and the power is turned off, it is possible to prevent the integrated power amount held by the measuring device 1 that does not have a battery from being completely lost, thereby minimizing the loss of the integrated power amount.
- the second memory unit 15 may store multiple accumulated amounts of power.
- the second memory unit 15 may store the latest accumulated amount of power and past accumulated amounts of power. For example, if the latest accumulated amount of power is the accumulated amount of power written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B4 in FIG. 3, the accumulated amounts of power for the past two times are the accumulated amount of power written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B3 in FIG. 3 and the accumulated amount of power written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B2 in FIG. 3.
- control unit 12 may estimate the accumulated amount of power at the time the supply of power from the commercial power source 4 was stopped (the time the power outage occurred) based on the latest accumulated amount of power, the past accumulated amount of power, and the time when the power outage occurred, and calculate the estimated accumulated amount of power.
- the control unit 12 calculates the difference (amount of power) between the accumulated power amount written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B4 in FIG. 3 and the accumulated power amount written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B3 in FIG. 3.
- the control unit 12 calculates the ratio of the time from timing B4 in FIG. 3 to the time when the power outage occurs to the predetermined interval (D1) (hereinafter referred to as ratio A).
- the control unit 12 calculates the amount of power A by multiplying the difference (amount of power) by ratio A.
- the control unit 12 may also calculate the estimated accumulated power amount by adding the amount of power A to the held accumulated power amount.
- the control unit 12 calculates a first difference (power amount) between the integrated power amount written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B4 in FIG. 3 and the integrated power amount written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B3 in FIG. 3.
- the control unit 12 calculates a second difference (power amount) between the integrated power amount written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B3 in FIG. 3 and the integrated power amount written to the second memory unit 15 at timing B2 in FIG. 3.
- the control unit 12 calculates an average power amount of the first difference (power amount) and the second difference (power amount).
- the control unit 12 calculates a ratio A and calculates a power amount B by multiplying the average power amount by ratio A.
- the control unit 12 may calculate an estimated integrated power amount by adding a power amount B to the retained integrated power amount.
- control unit 12 may store the estimated accumulated amount of power in the first memory unit 14. In other words, the control unit 12 may restore the accumulated amount of power in the first memory unit 14 by writing the estimated accumulated amount of power to the first memory unit 14. The control unit 12 may also obtain the time of the power outage from the management server 2.
- the second specified interval is set too short, the time it takes for the number of rewrites of the second memory unit 15 to reach the guaranteed number of rewrites (number of possible rewrites) will be shorter.
- the guaranteed number of rewrites is, for example, the number of times data can be rewritten successfully.
- the second specified interval is set too long, the cumulative amount of power lost when the power is turned off will increase, and the cumulative error specifications will no longer be met. Therefore, it is preferable to set the second specified interval appropriately, taking into account the guaranteed number of rewrites and the cumulative amount of power lost.
- the second predetermined interval may be set based on parameters related to rewriting of the second storage unit 15.
- the parameters related to rewriting of the second storage unit 15 may be stored in a storage device of the control unit 12.
- the parameters related to rewriting of the second storage unit 15 include, but are not limited to, for example, the guaranteed number of rewrites (number of times rewriting is possible), the guaranteed number of years, and the relay ON rate.
- the guaranteed number of years is, for example, the number of years for which the performance of the second storage unit 15 is guaranteed.
- the second predetermined interval can be set to five minutes (60 minutes/12 rewrites). If the second predetermined interval is five minutes, the accumulated power consumption will not be saved in the second memory unit 15 for a maximum of five minutes in the event of a power outage, but this accumulated power consumption is within the allowable range in the event of a power outage.
- the relay ON rate is set to 50%, but it is not limited to 50% and may be another value.

Description
プロセッサは、例えば、CPU(Central Processing Unit)である。記憶装置は、例えば、RAM(Random Access Memory)、ROM(Read Only Memory)、フラッシュメモリ等である。
