Definitions
- the present invention is a method of manufacturing mineral paper using shells, and specifically, the shells discarded from shellfish such as oysters, clams, etc. are processed to remove impurities, fired, mixed, etc., and then mixed with polyethylene to produce paper. It's about how to do it.
- Pulp which is the raw material for paper, is made using trees. To produce 1 MT (metric ton) of pulp, about 20 large trees and about 95 liters of water are needed, and 6.3 tons of carbon dioxide is emitted per ton of paper.
- Mineral paper is an eco-friendly paper produced by mixing limestone (CaCO 3 ) and polyethylene without using wood or water. Instead of using trees and water as raw materials for paper manufacturing, stone dust discarded from quarries or mines is used, which has the effect of securing depleted resources and improving the natural environment. In addition, almost no carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is generated during the production process, and a separate bleaching process is not required to make the paper white, so various chemicals such as bleach are not used, making it environmentally friendly.
- stone paper complements the shortcomings of existing paper in use. It does not get wet with water, so the ink does not spread, and it does not tear easily, making it highly durable. If burned, it can be used again as a raw material for making stone paper or for making plastic, and even if buried in the ground, it can be completely decomposed in 9 to 12 months without emitting toxic gases. Environmentally friendly disposal is possible as no harmful air pollutants or carbon dioxide are emitted during incineration.
- Stone paper has excellent cutting, binding, and folding functions, and can be used in a wide range of areas including printed materials, packaging materials, and publishing due to its ability to be heat processed, extruded, and vacuum formed.
- the shell is the shell of oysters, clams, etc., composed of 95% inorganic salts (mostly calcium carbonate, plus 1-2% calcium phosphate and less than 0.5% magnesium carbonate) and protein conchiolin.
- 95% inorganic salts mostly calcium carbonate, plus 1-2% calcium phosphate and less than 0.5% magnesium carbonate
- protein conchiolin a portion is recycled into agricultural soil improvers, lime fertilizer, and industrial raw materials, and the rest is treated as industrial waste or left behind.
- the present invention seeks to provide a method of manufacturing stone paper using shells containing the same components as calcium carbonate instead of limestone in order to create high added value through shells discarded in large quantities on the southern coast.
- the present invention provides a method of manufacturing stone paper by performing processes such as removing impurities, baking, mixing, and pelletizing the shells that are discarded after harvesting oysters, clams, etc.
- the present invention is a method of manufacturing mineral paper, comprising: (a) a pretreatment step of removing impurities in the shell; (b) drying the shell and pulverizing it into powder; (c) calcining the shell powder at high temperature, (d) mixing the shell powder and polyethylene; (e) compressing the mixture into pellets; (f) compression molding the pallet to make base paper; and (g) coating the surface of the base paper.
- the preprocessing step (a) is
- the (c) firing step may be characterized by firing at 650°C for 2 hours or at 740°C for 1 hour.
- step (d) the shell and polyethylene are mixed in a weight ratio of 80:20 (CaCO 3 80%, PE 20%) or 55:45 ratio (CaCO 3 55%, PE 45%) It can be characterized by mixing.
- the coating in step (f) may be characterized by coating with one or more technologies selected from Printing Coating, Film Coating, or Inkjet Coating.
- the stone paper of the present invention has the effect of securing depleted resources and improving the natural environment because it uses CaCO 3 obtained from shells instead of using wood and water as raw materials for paper production.
- CaCO 3 obtained from shells instead of using wood and water as raw materials for paper production.
- shells that are discarded in large quantities after harvesting oysters and clams it solves problems such as environmental pollution and damage to natural scenery caused by shells, reduces the cost of shell disposal, and creates high added value. .
- Figure 1 is a process diagram showing the stone paper manufacturing method of the present invention.
- the present invention relates to a method of manufacturing mineral paper using shells, and specific details will be described later.
- Figure 1 is a process diagram showing the stone paper manufacturing method of the present invention.
- the stone paper manufacturing method (S100) includes a pretreatment (removal of impurities such as organic matter) step (S110), a firing step (S120), a raw material mixing step (S130), a pelletizing step (S140), compression molding, and base paper production. It includes a step (S150) and a surface coating treatment step (S160).
- EM (Effective Micro-organisms) active liquid is a culture of dozens of microorganisms beneficial to humans among the numerous microorganisms that exist in nature, and is a phosphorus with strong antioxidant power.
- Representative useful microorganisms are photosynthetic bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, and yeast.
- EM active solution is applied to the collected shells and left for 24 hours to remove bad odor.
- the shell is placed in a high-pressure water sprayer and high-pressure water is applied for 1 hour to first remove impurities contained in the shell or attached to the surface.
- the shell from which the impurities have been removed is dehydrated for 5 to 10 minutes using a dehydrator to remove moisture.
- Firing is a process of heating at high temperatures, which removes remaining impurities in the shell and adjusts whiteness. If the temperature is too high or the time is too long, CO 2 dissociates from calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) and becomes calcium oxide. Conversely, if the temperature is too low or the time is short, organic matter and impurities are not completely removed and gray-colored calcium carbonate is formed. This is manufactured.
- the dehydrated shell can be placed in a kiln and heated at 650°C to 740°C for 1 to 2 hours, preferably at 650°C for 2 hours or at 740°C for 1 hour.
- the calcined shell powder and polyethylene are mixed at a certain ratio in a mixer (stirrer).
- the above ratio is preferably a weight ratio of shell powder and polyethylene of 55-80:20-45 (CaCO 3 55-80%, PE 20-45%).
- Pelletizing is the process of compressing or forming materials into a pellet shape using a pellet forming machine.
- Additives such as anti-aging agents, colorants, stabilizers, lubricants, and other mixing agents to give the product necessary properties are added to the mixture, kneaded well using an extrusion molder or mixing roller, and then cut into small pieces with a diameter of several mm. made in shape.
- the length of the pallet must be less than 6mm.
- the pallet is compressed and rolled thinly to form a base paper in the form of a sheet.
- the base paper is not manufactured one by one, but is produced continuously and rolled into a roll like a huge roll of toilet paper.
- the base paper is preferably 0.02 to 0.15 mm thick and 50 to 200 gsm (gram per square meter).
- the surface of the base paper is coated according to the purpose.
- Surface coating treatments for different purposes include Printing Coating, Film Coating, and Inkjet Coating.
- the coated paper is cut to specifications and commercialized.
- the stone paper of the present invention has the effect of securing depleted resources and improving the natural environment because it uses shells (CaCO 3 ) instead of wood and water as raw materials for paper production. Almost no carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is generated during the production process, and there is no need for a separate bleaching process to make the paper white, so it is environmentally friendly because it does not use various chemicals such as bleach. In addition, it does not get wet with water, so the ink does not spread, and it is durable as it does not tear easily. When burned, it can be used again as a raw material for making stone paper or for making plastic.

Abstract
Description
EM(Effective Micro-organisms)
원지는 0.02~0.15mm 두께 및 50~200gsm(gram per square meter) 규격으로 하는 것이 바람직하다.
