L’intérieur du parking n’est pas accessible ce qui sécurise le rangement du vélo. Cette solution présente néanmoins les inconvénients suivants. Elle requière un espace au sol considérable et ne peut donc pas être implémentée dans les espaces urbains exigus. Autrement dit, elle ne peut être implémentée que dans des espaces qui seront nécessairement éloignés des logements d’un grand nombre d’utilisateurs, ce qui est contraignant pour ces derniers notamment en cas d’intempéries puisqu’ils doivent d’abord ranger leur vélo au parking, puis rejoindre leur domicile à pied. Enfin, ces solutions sont onéreuses pour l’utilisateur car elles n’ont pas vocation à être utilisées quotidiennement mais plutôt au cas par cas, comme cela est le cas pour les parkings dédiés aux véhicules automobiles.
