Description
本発明は水を希釈媒体として含む水性の発泡耐火塗料組成物に関する。
鉄は500℃付近で急激に強度を失うため、火災時には鉄骨造りの構造物は崩壊し、避難や消火活動が出来なくなる。このため、火災時でも定められた時間、強度を維持するために、構造物の鉄骨に断熱性を備えた耐火被覆を施工することが建築基準法によって義務付けられている。この耐火被覆材料としてはロックウール耐火被覆材と発泡耐火塗料がある。ロックウール耐火被覆材は安価であり、市場で多く流通されているが、耐火性能を発揮するには1cm~数cmの厚みを要するものであり、吹き付け作業が困難であるという問題がある。
一方、発泡耐火塗料は火災時の温度上昇によって塗膜が膨張して断熱性を発揮する被覆材料である。発泡耐火塗料を用いた耐火被覆はロックウールとは異なり平常時は薄膜で、構造物自体がもつ形状を損なうことがなく、火災時には膨張、炭化し、チャーと呼ばれる難燃性の断熱層によって鉄の温度上昇を抑制し、構造物の崩壊を遅延させることができる。
この発泡耐火塗料として本出願人は特許文献1において、加水分解性シリル基含有樹脂、可塑剤、発泡剤、及び炭化剤を含む発泡耐火塗料を提案した。この塗料においては、厚塗りが容易であり、速乾性、内部硬化性、耐水性等の諸物性に優れた保護塗膜が得られ、そして火災の状況下においては耐火性に優れた発泡層を形成しうるものである。
しかしながら特許文献1に記載の発泡耐火塗料は希釈媒体として有機溶剤を含むものであり、病院や学校等で施工する場合に臭気の問題がある。また、有機溶剤が飛散することにより電気工事との並行作業ができないなどの問題があり、水を希釈媒体とする水性発泡耐火塗料の要望が高まっている。
これまで水性発泡耐火塗料のバインダー成分として種々の合成樹脂エマルションが検討されてきた。例えば特許文献2には合成樹脂エマルションとしてアクリル樹脂エマルションをバインダー成分として含む発泡耐火塗料組成物が開示されている。
建築物に塗装するための水性塗料は常温乾燥の条件でも耐久性を備えた塗膜を形成することが必要である。そのため、塗膜形成成分には耐久性が高いとされているアクリル樹脂エマルションが使用されることが一般的である。しかしながらアクリル樹脂エマルションを使用した水性発泡耐火塗料は火災時の塗膜の発泡が困難であり、耐火性能が不十分であるという問題がある。
本発明の課題は、火災時における火炎又は熱に耐性のある発泡塗膜を形成可能な水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を提案することにある。
本発明者らは上記課題について鋭意検討した。その結果、スチレンが多量に共重合されたハイスチレンエマルションを含む水性発泡耐火塗料組成物が耐火性に優れていることを見出した。

本発明において、ハイスチレンエマルション(A)は、スチレンを含む重合性不飽和モノマーの共重合体を含み、共重合体を構成する重合性不飽和モノマーの合計中のスチレンの割合が40質量%以上の樹脂エマルションである。スチレンの割合が40質量%未満では、形成塗膜の耐火性が不十分であり好ましくない。また、スチレンの割合は55質量%以上であることが好ましく、70~95質量%の範囲内にあることがより好ましい。
本発明において、ハイスチレンエマルション(A)は、スチレンを含む重合性不飽和モノマーの共重合体を含み、共重合体を構成する重合性不飽和モノマーの合計中のスチレンの割合が40質量%以上の樹脂エマルションである。スチレンの割合が40質量%未満では、形成塗膜の耐火性が不十分であり好ましくない。また、スチレンの割合は55質量%以上であることが好ましく、70~95質量%の範囲内にあることがより好ましい。
前記ハイスチレンエマルション(A)は、スチレン以外の重合性不飽和モノマーを共重合体の構成成分として含むことができる。
前記その他の重合性不飽和モノマーとしては、例えば、

共重合体を構成する重合性不飽和モノマーの合計中のスチレン以外の重合性不飽和モノマーは特に限定されないが、例えば5~60質量%である。好ましい実施形態では、スチレン以外の重合性不飽和モノマーはアルキル又はシクロアルキル(メタ)アクリレートを含み、が重合性不飽和モノマーの合計中のアルキル又はシクロアルキル(メタ)アクリレートの割合が5~60質量%である。
本発明において、耐火性の観点から前記ハイスチレンエマルション(A)は水酸基を有することが好ましい。この場合、水酸基価としては0.1~100mgKOH/gにあることが好ましく、2~60mgKOH/gの範囲内にあることが特に好ましい。ここで水酸基価とは、樹脂不揮発分1gに含まれる水酸基と等モルの水酸化カリウムのmg数によって表される値(mgKOH/g)である。
前記水酸基を有するハイスチレンエマルションを製造するに際して、共重合体の構成成分となる重合性不飽和モノマーは水酸基含有重合性不飽和モノマーを含むことが好ましい。
前記水酸基含有重合性不飽和モノマーとしては上述のスチレン以外の重合性不飽和モノマーのうちの水酸基を有するモノマーが挙げられ、その共重合される量としては、全重合性不飽和モノマー中に水酸基含有重合性不飽和モノマーが0.05~10質量%であることが好ましく、0.1~5質量%の範囲内にあることが特に好ましい。
また、前記ハイスチレンエマルション(A)は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物の貯蔵安定性などの観点から酸基を有することが好ましい。酸基としてはカルボキシル基が挙げられる。この場合、酸価としては、3~100mgKOH/gであることが好ましく、5~80mgKOH/gの範囲内にあることが特に好ましい。酸価とは、樹脂不揮発分の質量1g中に含まれる酸基を中和するのに必要な水酸化カリウムのmg数を、アルカリ中和滴定に基づく常法により求めたものである。
酸基含有重合性不飽和モノマー、特にはカルボキシル基含有重合性不飽和モノマーとしては上述の化合物が挙げられ、その共重合量としては、全重合性不飽和モノマー中に1~20質量%が好ましく、3~10質量%の範囲内が特に好ましい。
前記ハイスチレンエマルション(A)は、樹脂エマルションの通常の製造方法を採用することで得ることができるが、形成される塗膜の耐水性の点から乳化重合法によるものが好ましい。乳化重合法において、共重合体を構成するモノマー成分を、水及び乳化剤の存在下、重合開始剤を用いて重合することにより、共重合体の水分散液であるハイスチレンエマルション(A)を得ることができる。
前記ハイスチレンエマルション(A)は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分の全質量を基準として、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中に、不揮発分質量で好ましくは5~50質量%、より好ましくは10~35質量%の範囲内で存在することができる。
本明細書では不揮発分とは揮発成分を除いた残存物を意味するものであり、残存物は常温で固形状であっても液状であっても差し支えない。例えば、0.3gの試料を105℃、30分間加熱し乾燥させた際に残存する成分を不揮発分として取り扱う。
<チャー形成補助剤(B)>
チャー形成補助剤(B)は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物により形成される塗膜が火に曝されたときにチャーの形成を促進するための物質である。一般的にルイス酸はチャーを形成する補助機能を果たすと考えられており、具体的にはリン酸アンモニウム、ポリリン酸アンモニウム、リン酸等のリン含有化合物が使用される。リン含有化合物の中でも、リン酸又はポリリン酸のアンモニウム塩であるリン酸アンモニウム化合物が好ましく、ポリリン酸アンモニウムがより好ましい。本発明では、リン含有化合物の代わりに又はリン含有化合物に加えて、他のチャー形成補助剤を使用することも可能である。例えばポリリン酸アンモニウムとトリス-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレート(THEIC)の組み合わせはその一例である。
チャー形成補助剤(B)は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物により形成される塗膜が火に曝されたときにチャーの形成を促進するための物質である。一般的にルイス酸はチャーを形成する補助機能を果たすと考えられており、具体的にはリン酸アンモニウム、ポリリン酸アンモニウム、リン酸等のリン含有化合物が使用される。リン含有化合物の中でも、リン酸又はポリリン酸のアンモニウム塩であるリン酸アンモニウム化合物が好ましく、ポリリン酸アンモニウムがより好ましい。本発明では、リン含有化合物の代わりに又はリン含有化合物に加えて、他のチャー形成補助剤を使用することも可能である。例えばポリリン酸アンモニウムとトリス-(2-ヒドロキシエチル)イソシアヌレート(THEIC)の組み合わせはその一例である。
上記チャー形成補助剤(B)は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分の全質量を基準として、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中に好ましくは10~70質量%、より好ましくは20~45質量%の量で存在することができる。
<炭素源(C)>
水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、炭素源(C)を含有する。炭素源(C)の例としては、ペンタエリスリトール、ジペンタエリスリトール、ポリビニルアルコール、デンプン、セルロース粉末等が挙げられる。

炭素源(C)は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分の全質量を基準として、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中に好ましくは1~50質量%、より好ましくは5~30質量%の量で存在することができる。
<発泡剤(D)>
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、発泡剤(D)を含有する。発泡剤(D)とは、熱(通常は火)に暴露されると、分解して膨張ガスを提供する1つ以上の化合物である。発泡剤が分解し、ガスを発生するのに十分な熱は、通常約90℃以上である。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、発泡剤(D)を含有する。発泡剤(D)とは、熱(通常は火)に暴露されると、分解して膨張ガスを提供する1つ以上の化合物である。発泡剤が分解し、ガスを発生するのに十分な熱は、通常約90℃以上である。
発泡剤(D)がガスを放出する温度としては、有機ポリマーが軟らかくなる温度で、且つチャーが形成される温度よりも低い温度であることが望ましい。このようにして形成された水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は十分に発泡してからチャーを形成、より良好な断熱体となることができる。
発泡剤(D)としてはメラミン、メラミンホルムアルデヒド、メチロール化メラミン、ヘキサメトキシメチルメラミン、メラミンモノホスフェート、メラミンジ燐酸、メラミンポリ燐酸ホスフェート、メラミンピロ燐酸、メラミンシアヌレート、尿素、ニトロウレア、ジメチル尿素、ジシアンジアミド、グアニル尿素ホスフェート、グリシン、アミンリン酸塩、アゾジカルボンアミド、4,4´-オキシビス(ベンゼンスルホニルヒドラジド)、p-トルエンヒドラジド、p-トルエンスルホニルセミカルバジド、ジニトロソペンタメチレンテトラミン、5-フェニルテトラゾール、ジアゾアミノベンゼン等が使用可能である。上記化合物は、熱に暴露されると分解し、窒素ガスを放出する。また、ホウ酸アンモニウム、炭酸カリウム、クエン酸誘導体など、熱に曝されると二酸化炭素、水蒸気及び/又はアンモニアを放出する化合物、膨張性グラファイトも発泡剤として使用することができる。
本発明において好ましい発泡剤は、メラミン又はその誘導体であることができ、単独で又は組み合わせて使用される。
前記発泡剤(D)は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分の全質量を基準として、好ましくは1~30質量%、より好ましくは5~25質量%の範囲内で存在することができる。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、水を含有する。水は希釈媒体である。水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の水の量は、当業者が適宜選択し得るが、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分の全質量を基準として、好ましくは5~60質量%、より好ましくは10~50質量%の範囲内である。
<可塑剤(E)及び/又は造膜助剤(F)>
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、任意に、可塑剤(E)及び/又は造膜助剤(F)を含むことができる。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、任意に、可塑剤(E)及び/又は造膜助剤(F)を含むことができる。
前記可塑剤(E)は塗膜に残存する成分であり、耐火性の点から、重量平均分子量が好ましくは250以上、より好ましくは300以上であり、かつ重量平均分子量が好ましくは2000以下、より好ましくは1900以下にある物質である。
一方、造膜助剤(F)は、ハイスチレンエマルション(A)に相溶可能な高沸点の有機溶剤であり、水が揮発した後に塗膜内に残り、ハイスチレンエマルション(A)粒子の融合を促進しながら徐々に揮発する成分である。造膜助剤(F)の重量平均分子量は例えば250未満である。
なお、本明細書において、化学式が明らかな物質の重量平均分子量は化学式から算出される分子量とする。また、化学式が明らかでない物質の重量平均分子量は、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフ(GPC)を用いて測定した保持時間(保持容量)を、同一条件で測定した分子量既知の標準ポリスチレンの保持時間(保持容量)によりポリスチレンの分子量に換算して求めた値である。具体的には、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフ装置として、「HLC-8120GPC」(商品名、東ソー株式会社製)を使用し、カラムとして、「TSKgel G4000HXL」、「TSKgel G3000HXL」、「TSKgel G2500HXL」及び「TSKgel G2000HXL」(商品名、いずれも東ソー株式会社製)の計4本を使用し、検出器として、示差屈折率計を使用し、移動相:テトラヒドロフラン、測定温度:40℃、流速:1mL/minの条件下で測定することができる。
前記可塑剤(E)の具体例としては脂肪酸エステル系可塑剤、リン酸エステル系可塑剤が挙げられる。脂肪酸エステル系可塑剤としては、アジピン酸エステル系、クエン酸エステル系、安息香酸エステル系、ミリスチン酸エステル系、酢酸エステル系、コハク酸エステル系、グルタル酸エステル系、セバシン酸エステル系、及びこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。特にアジピン酸又はクエン酸を原料として使用した可塑剤が好ましい。
リン酸エステル系可塑剤としては、トリメチルホスフェート、トリエチルホスフェート、トリプロピルホスフェート、トリブチルホスフェート、トリペンチルホスフェート、トリヘキシルホスフェート、トリシクロヘキシルホスフェート、トリフェニルホスフェート、トリクレジルホスフェート、トリキシレニルホスフェート、クレジルジフェニルホスフェート、ジクレジルフェニルホスフェート、ジメチルエチルホスフェート、メチルジブチルホスフェート、エチルジプロピルホスフェート、イソデシルジフェニルホフェート、ヒドロキシフェニルジフェニルホスフェート、レゾルシノールビスジフェニルホスフェート、リン酸トリアリールイソプロピル化物、これらを各種置換基で変性させた化合物、これらの各種の縮合タイプ等が挙げられる。
造膜助剤(F)の具体例としては、エチレングリコールモノプロピルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノフェニルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノベンジルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノヘキシルエーテル、エチレングリコールモノ2-エチルヘキシルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジエチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノプロピルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールジブチルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノフェニルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノヘキシルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノベンジルエーテル、ジエチレングリコールモノ2-エチルヘキシルエーテル、トリエチレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、トリエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、ポリエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノプロピルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、プロピレングリコールモノフェニルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールモノプロピルエーテル、ジプロピレングリコールモノブチルエーテル、トリプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、トリプロピレングリコールモノブチルエーテル等のグリコールエーテル系化合物;2-イソブトキシエチルベンゾエート、2,2,4-トリメチルペンタンジオールモノイソブチレート、2,2,4-トリメチルペンタンジオールジイソブチレート等のエステル系化合物等が挙げられる。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物が可塑剤(E)及び/又は造膜助剤(F)を含む場合、その場合の含有量は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分を基準として好ましくは可塑剤(E)の量が耐火性の点から好ましくは0.1~15質量%、より好ましくは0.5~10質量%の範囲内であり、造膜助剤(F)の量が、タック性の点から、好ましくは0.1~15質量%、より好ましくは0.5~10質量%の範囲内である。
<共溶媒(G)>
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、任意に、共溶媒(G)を含むことができる。
共溶媒(G)の存在によって、本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物により形成される塗膜のタック性及び耐クラック性の向上に効果がある。本発明では、分子量が250未満で蒸発速度が水よりも大きい有機溶剤を共溶媒(G)、分子量が250未満で蒸発速度が水よりも小さい溶媒を造膜助剤(F)とするものとする。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、任意に、共溶媒(G)を含むことができる。
共溶媒(G)の存在によって、本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物により形成される塗膜のタック性及び耐クラック性の向上に効果がある。本発明では、分子量が250未満で蒸発速度が水よりも大きい有機溶剤を共溶媒(G)、分子量が250未満で蒸発速度が水よりも小さい溶媒を造膜助剤(F)とするものとする。
本明細書において、蒸発速度は、例えば、ASTM D 3539に準じて測定することができる。具体的には温度が25℃及び相対湿度が55%RHのときの酢酸ブチルの単位時間当たりの重量減少量に対する相対速度として求められる。酢酸ブチルの蒸発速度は1であり、この数値が大きいほど蒸発しやすいということになる。このような共溶媒(G)の具体例としては、例えば、エチルアルコール、イソプロピルアルコール、イソブチルアルコール、n-ブチルアルコール、t-ブチルアルコール、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテル、酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル、酢酸イソブチル、酢酸イソアミル、エチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル、メチルイソブチルケトン、メチルエチルケトン、メチルイソアミルケトン、n-ヘキサン、シクロヘキサン、トルエン、キシレンなどを挙げることができる。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物が共溶媒(G)を含む場合、その場合の含有量は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分を基準として好ましくは共溶媒(G)の量が0.1~20質量%、より好ましくは0.5~15質量%の範囲内である。
<水性発泡耐火塗料組成物>
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、他の成分、例えば、顔料、顔料分散剤、触媒、繊維、有機溶剤、溶融粘度を変えるための添加剤、レオロジー調整剤、硬化剤を任意選択で含むことができるが、これらに限定されない。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、他の成分、例えば、顔料、顔料分散剤、触媒、繊維、有機溶剤、溶融粘度を変えるための添加剤、レオロジー調整剤、硬化剤を任意選択で含むことができるが、これらに限定されない。
これらのうち顔料としては二酸化チタン(白色顔料)、カーボンブラック、酸化鉄等の有色顔料;バライト、タルク、炭酸カルシウム、カオリン、クレー等のフィラー顔料等が挙げられる。
前記顔料は、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物中の不揮発分の全質量を基準として、水性発泡耐火塗料組成中に好ましくは1~40質量%、より好ましくは5~30質量%の範囲で存在することができる。
<塗装方法>
本発明はさらに、基材表面に、上記水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を塗装することを含む、基材の塗装方法に関する。

本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、周囲温度、例えば-5℃~40℃で硬化及び/又は乾燥することができる。よって、加熱硬化が実用的でない大きな構造物に適用するのに適している。
本発明において、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物の層の乾燥フィルムの厚さは、用途に応じて適宜選択することができる。典型的には、セルロース系の耐火用途(例えばオフィスビルなどの建築物に適用)の場合、好ましくは100μm~8mm、より好ましくは200μm~4mmである。
本発明はさらに、基材表面に、上記水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を塗装することを含む、火炎又は熱から構造物を保護する方法に関する。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、様々な基材に適用することができる。
基材の例としては、鉄骨、アルミニウム、亜鉛鉄板等の金属だけでなく、壁紙、合板、木材、無機質ボード、コンクリート、モルタル、FRP、プラスチック類、紙、布、繊維、合成樹脂、ゴム、シリコン、電線ケーブル等が挙げられる。構造物は基材を備える。構造物としては、地上構造物、海洋構造物等が挙げられ、特に好適な構造物としては建築基準法第21条及び第27条に規定される建物等が挙げられる。その具体例の一部としては、ビル、学校、病院、ホテル、映画館、店舗、倉庫、空港等が挙げられる。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を既存構造物の鉄骨に適用する場合は、錆除去等の下地処理をした後、必要に応じて下塗り塗料を塗装したあとに本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を塗装してもよい。また、本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を塗装したあとに公知の上塗り塗装をしてもよい。
塗装方法としては特に限定されず、刷毛、コテ、ローラ、スプレー等の一般の方法で簡単に塗布することができ、平滑塗布だけでなく、厚膜で凹凸のあるパターンを形成することも可能である。これらの塗装方法は、基材の使用目的に応じて適宜選択される。
本発明の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物は、以下の構成を有することもできる。

100mm×100mm×3.2mmのブラスト鋼板に、実施例及び比較例で得られた各水性発泡耐火塗料組成物(X-1)~(X-9)を乾燥膜厚が1.0mmとなるように塗装し、23℃で7日間乾燥させたものを試験パネルとし、コーンカロリーメーターによる簡易的な耐火性試験に供した。具体的には、試験パネルの裏面側に熱電対を取り付け、加熱強度が50kw/m2のコーンカロリーメーターを用いた着火試験に供し、20分後の熱電対の温度を記録した。結果を表1に示す。表中、数値が低いほど良好な結果である。

評価試験
(1)耐火性
100mm×100mm×3.2mmのブラスト鋼板に、各水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を乾燥膜厚が1.0mmとなるように塗装し、23℃で7日間乾燥させたものを試験パネルとし、コーンカロリーメーターによる簡易的な耐火試験に供した。具体的には、試験パネルの裏面側に熱電対を取り付け、加熱強度が50kw/m2のコーンカロリーメーターを用いた着火試験に供し、耐火性とチャーの発泡状態を下記基準で評価した。
着火してから20分後の熱電対の温度を記録し、下記基準で評価した。
評価A、Bの場合は耐火性が良好であり、評価C、Dの場合は耐火性が不良であると判定
した。
A:20分後の熱電対温度が340℃未満
B:20分後の熱電対温度が340℃~350℃未満
C:20分後の熱電対温度が350℃~360℃未満
D:20分後の熱電対温度が360℃以上。
(2)タック感
ガラス板に、各水性耐火塗料組成物を乾燥膜厚2mmとなるように塗装し23℃で7日間乾燥させその上に「コスモシリコン」(商品名、関西ペイント株式会社製、水性反応硬化型アクリルシリコン塗料)を乾燥膜厚が50μmとなるように塗装し、23℃7日間乾燥させたものを試験片とし、JISK 5600-3-6 : 1999 不粘着乾燥性試験に準じて実施した。
具体的には試験片を40℃恒温室に塗面を上にして水平に置き、その上にガーゼを載せ、ガーゼの上に500gのおもりを載せ、その状態で2時間保持する。その後、ガーゼを塗面から引きはがし、ガーゼ跡を目視で観察した。
A:ガーゼ跡はまったくなし
B:点状のガーゼ跡が若干認められるが線状のガーゼ跡は認められない
C:点状及び線状のガーゼ跡が多く認められるが格子状のガーゼ跡は認められない
D:点状、線状及び格子状のガーゼ跡が認められる。
(3)耐クラック性
長方形状のブリキ板の両短辺を直角に折り曲げたものを基材とし、これに各水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を乾燥膜厚が2mmとなるように塗装し、23℃で7日間乾燥させ、折り曲げ部のひびの状態を観察した。
A:折り曲げ部にひび全くなし
B:折り曲げ部に短辺の長さ10%未満の長さのひびが認められる。
C:折り曲げ部に短辺の長さ10~50%の長さのひびが認められる。
D:折り曲げ部に短辺の長さ50%を超える長さのひびが認められる。

実施例1~15は、本発明で規定したスチレンリッチなエマルションを使用した水性発泡耐火塗料組成物である。
比較例1及び2はスチレン共重合量の点で本発明範囲から外れる水性発泡耐火塗料組成物である。

以上により調製された水性発泡耐火塗料組成物による耐火性試験結果より、以下のことが言える。
水性発泡耐火塗料組成物に含まれる樹脂エマルション中の共重合体を構成する重合性不飽和モノマーの合計に対するスチレンの量が増えるにつれて耐火性が向上する。(実施例1~7及び比較例1~2)
耐火性が向上する境目となるスチレン共重合量は40質量%である。(実施例1と比較例2との対比)
水性発泡耐火塗料組成物が共溶媒を含むことによって、耐火性を損なうことなく、タック性及び耐クラック性が向上する。(実施例8~14)

Claims (7)
- ハイスチレンエマルション(A)、チャー形成補助剤(B)、炭素源(C)、発泡剤(D)及び水を含む水性発泡性耐火塗料組成物であって、前記ハイスチレンエマルション(A)はスチレンを含む重合性不飽和モノマーの共重合体を含み、前記共重合体を構成する前記重合性不飽和モノマーの合計中のスチレンの割合が40質量%以上にある、水性発泡耐火塗料組成物。
- 前記重合性不飽和モノマーは水酸基含有重合性不飽和モノマーを含む、請求項1に記載の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物。
- 前記重合性不飽和モノマーは酸基含有重合性不飽和モノマーを含む、請求項1又は2に記載の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物。
- さらに可塑剤(E)及び/又は造膜助剤(F)を含む、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物。
- さらに共溶媒(G)を含む、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物。
- 基材表面に、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を塗装することを含む、基材の塗装方法。
- 基材表面に、請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載の水性発泡耐火塗料組成物を塗装することを含む、熱及び火災から構造物を保護する方法。
