本願第1発明は、それぞれ直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する(1A)シール層、(1B)コア層、及び(1C)ラミネート層を有するレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムであって、

すなわち、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、シール層(1A)、コア層(1B)、及びラミネート層(1C)を有する。
本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを構成するシール層(1A)は、直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する。したがって、シール層(1A)は直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成されていてもよく、直鎖状ポリエチレンに加えて他の成分、例えば他の樹脂や、アンチブロッキング剤、スリッピング剤等の各種添加剤を含有していてもよい。
シール層(1A)直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有することで、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、レトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができ、またヒートシール性、柔軟性、可撓性、気密性等の、シーラントフィルム一般に求められる物性を適切に具備することができる。
シール層(1A)の密度は、930kg/m3以上955kg/m3以下であることが好ましく、940kg/m3以上953kg/m3以下であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(1A)の密度は、シール層(1A)を構成する材料の種類や量、シール層(1A)又はシール層(1A)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
シール層(1A)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、シール層(1A)の密度は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、密度が915kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下、好ましくは930kg/m3以上955kg/m3以下、より好ましくは940kg/m3以上953kg/m3以下である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、シール層(1A)の密度を所定範囲内とすることができる。
シール層(1A)の融点が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムに一層良好なレトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)を付与することができる。
シール層(1A)の融点は、122~134℃であることがより好ましく、125~133℃であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(1A)の融点は、シール層(1A)を構成する材料の種類や量、シール層(1A)又はシール層(1A)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
シール層(1A)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、シール層(1A)の融点は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、融点が120~135℃、好ましくは125~133℃である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、シール層(1A)の融点を上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
シール層(1A)のレトルト温度における融解率が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムに一層良好なレトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)を付与することができる。
シール層(1A)の121℃における融解率は、40質量%以下であることがより好ましく、35質量%以下であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(1A)のレトルト温度における融解率は、シール層(1A)を構成する材料の種類や量、シール層(1A)又はシール層(1A)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
シール層(1A)のMFRが上記範囲内にあることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造が一層容易となり、押出時の樹脂圧が適切な範囲となる等の好ましい効果が実現できる。
シール層(1A)のMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、0.5~12g/10minであることがより好ましく、0.7~11g/10minであることが特に好ましい。
シール層(1A)のMFRは、シール層(1A)を構成する材料の種類や量を選択、調整することで適宜調整することができる。
シール層(1A)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、シール層(1A)のMFRは当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合にはMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)が0.1~15g/10min、より好ましくは0.5~12g/10minである直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、シール層(1A)MFRを上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
シール層(1A)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンは、実質的に直鎖状である主鎖を有するエチレンの単独重合体又はエチレンと他の単量体との共重合体であればよく、それ以外の制限は存在しない。直鎖状ポリエチレンの代表的な形態として、高密度ポリエチレン及び直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンを挙げることができる。
シール層(1A)においては、シール層(1A)の密度を915kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下とすることができる直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用する。
シール層(1A)の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、20質量%以上であることが好ましく、25~100質量%であることがより好ましく、30~100質量%であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(1A)においては、直鎖状ポリエチレン1種類のみを使用してもよく、2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用してもよい。2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用する場合には、上述の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、当該2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンの質量の合計に基づいて計算する。
直鎖状ポリエチレンの代表的な一形態である高密度ポリエチレンとしては、当該技術分野において一般に高密度ポリエチレンとして知られているものを適宜使用することができる。
高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)は、エチレン単独重合体であってもよく、またはエチレンとα-オレフィンの共重合体であってもよい。
MFRが上記範囲にあることで、成形加工時に押出機の負荷が低くなるとともに、成形安定性が向上するので、好ましい。
密度が上記範囲にあることで、シール層(1A)の密度を915kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下とすることが容易となる。
直鎖状ポリエチレンの代表的な一形態である直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとしては、当該技術分野において一般に直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとして知られているものを適宜使用することができる。その様な直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとして、エチレンと、αーオレフィンとの共重合体を用いることができ、チーグラー触媒、メタロセン触媒等の公知の触媒を用いた製造方法により合成したものを用いることができる。
尤も、重合の工程でエチレンを多量化してα-オレフィンを生成させることもでき、この場合は実質的にエチレンのみを原料として製造することもできる。
直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンの密度は、コモノマー含量を調整することで適宜調整することができ、また触媒や重合温度等の重合条件を選択、調製することでも適宜調整することができる。
直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンのMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、従来公知の方法により適宜調整することが可能であり、重合温度等の重合条件を調整したり、分子量調整剤を導入すること等で調整することが可能である。
層状珪酸塩、SiO2、Al2O3、MgO、ZrO2、TiO2、B2O3、CaO、ZnO、BaO、ThO2等またはこれらの混合物が挙げられる。
好ましいチーグラー触媒としては、エチレン、α-オレフィンの配位重合に用いるチーグラー触媒として一般的に知られているものでよく、例えばチタン化合物および有機アルミニウム化合物を含む触媒であり、ハロゲン化チタン化合物と有機アルミニウム化合物からなる触媒、チタニウム、マグネシム、塩素等からなる固体触媒成分と有機アルミニウム化合物からなる触媒等を例示することができる。このような触媒としては、より具体的には、無水マグネシウムジハロゲン化物のアルコール予備処理物と有機金属化合物との反応生成物にチタン化合物を反応させて得られる触媒成分(a)と有機金属化合物(b)からなる触媒、マグネシウム金属と水酸化有機化合物またはマグネシウムなどの酸素含有有機化合物、遷移金属の酸素含有有機化合物、およびアルミニウムハロゲン化物を反応させて得られる触媒成分(A)と有機金属化合物の触媒成分(B)とからなる触媒、(i)金属マグネシウムと水酸化有機化合物、マグネシウムの酸素含有有機化合物、およびハロゲン含有化合物から選んだ少なくとも一員、(ii)遷移金属の酸素含有有機化合物およびハロゲン含有化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一員、(iii)ケイ素化合物を反応させて得られる反応物と、(iv)ハロゲン化アルミニウム化合物を反応させて得られる固体触媒成分(A)と有機金属化合物の触媒成分(B)とからなる触媒等を例示することができる。
これらの添加成分は、あらかじめ直鎖状ポリエチレンに配合されていてもよく、また直鎖状ポリエチレンからシール層(1A)を形成するにあたって添加してもよい。
一方、可撓性や経済性等の観点からは、シール層(1A)の厚みは30μm以下であることが好ましく、25μm以下であることがより好ましく、20μm以下であることが特に好ましい。
本願第1発明の積層フィルムの製造にあたって延伸を行う場合には、延伸倍率は、面積倍率で1~100倍であることが好ましく、4~80倍であることが特に好ましい。延伸前のシール層(1A)にあたる層の厚みは、0.3~12mmであることが好ましく、0.5~4mmであることが特に好ましい。
シール層(1A)の厚みは、延伸倍率等の延伸条件や、延伸前の層厚み、当該延伸前の層を形成する際のダイのリップ間隔等を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを構成するコア層(1B)は、メタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する。したがって、コア層(1B)はメタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成されていてもよく、メタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンに加えて他の成分、例えば他の樹脂や、アンチブロッキング剤、スリッピング剤等の各種添加剤を含有していてもよい。
コア層(1B)がメタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有することで、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、レトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができ、またヒートシール性、柔軟性、可撓性、密閉性等の、シーラントフィルム一般に求められる物性を適切に具備することができる。
コア層(1B)の密度は、934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることが好ましく、936kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることが特に好ましい。
コア層(1B)の密度は、コア層(1B)を構成する材料の種類や量、コア層(1B)又はコア層(1B)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
コア層(1B)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、コア層(1B)の密度は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、密度が932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満、好ましくは934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、コア層(1B)の密度を所定範囲内とすることができる。
コア層(1B)の融点が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムに一層良好なレトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)を付与することができる。
コア層(1B)の融点は、122~134℃であることがより好ましく、125~133℃であることが特に好ましい。
コア層(1B)の融点は、コア層(1B)を構成する材料の種類や量、コア層(1B)又はコア層(1B)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
コア層(1B)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、コア層(1B)の融点は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、融点が120~135℃、好ましくは122~134℃である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、コア層(1B)の融点を上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
コア層(1B)のレトルト温度における融解率が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムに一層良好なレトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)を付与することができる。
コア層(1B)の121℃における融解率は、45~95質量%であることがより好ましく、47~93質量%であることが特に好ましい。
コア層(1B)のレトルト温度における融解率は、コア層(1B)を構成する材料の種類や量、コア層(1B)又はコア層(1B)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
コア層(1B)のMFRが6.0g/10min以下であることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムのレトルト温度での耐熱性と低温での耐衝撃性とを一層高いレベルで両立させることができ、耐衝撃性の向上等の好ましい効果が実現できる。
コア層(1B)のMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、0.1~15g/10minであることがより好ましく、0.7~11g/10minであることが特に好ましい。
コア層(1B)のMFRは、コア層(1B)を構成する材料の種類や量を選択、調整することで適宜調整することができる。
コア層(1B)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、コア層(1B)のMFRは当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合にはMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)が0.1~15g/10min、より好ましくは0.7~11g/10minである直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、コア層(1B)MFRを上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
コア層(1B)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンは、上記にて説明したシール層(1A)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンと基本的には同種の樹脂である。
但し、コア層(1B)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンは、メタロセン触媒を用いて重合されたものに限定される。したがって、シール層(1A)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンについての上記説明のうち、メタロセン触媒以外の触媒による直鎖状ポリエチレンの製造に関する記載は、コア層(1B)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンには適用されない。
また、コア層(1B)の密度は932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満なので、コア層(1B)においては、層全体の密度がこの範囲内となる様な密度の直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用する。
より具体的には、コア層(1B)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度は、932~940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることが好ましく、934~940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることがより好ましく、936~940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることが特に好ましい。
この観点から、コア層(1B)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンとしては、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)よりも直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)が好ましく、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンのみを使用するか、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンが大半を占める組み合わせで使用することが好ましい。
コア層(1B)においては、直鎖状ポリエチレン1種類のみを使用してもよく、2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用してもよい。2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用する場合には、上述の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、当該2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンの質量の合計に基づいて計算される。
より具体的には、コア層(1B)の厚みは、9μm以上であることが好ましく、15μm以上であることが特に好ましい。
一方、原料コスト等の観点からは、コア層(1B)の厚みは、90μm以下であることが好ましく、60μm以下であることが特に好ましい。
本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを構成するラミネート層(1C)は、メタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する。したがって、ラミネート層(1C)はメタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成されていてもよく、メタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンに加えて他の成分、例えば他の樹脂や、アンチブロッキング剤、スリッピング剤等の各種添加剤を含有していてもよい。
ラミネート層(1C)がメタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有することで、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、レトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができ、またヒートシール性、柔軟性、可撓性、密閉性等の、シーラントフィルム一般に求められる物性を適切に具備することができる。
ラミネート層(1C)の密度は、934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることが好ましく、936kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(1C)の密度は、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する材料の種類や量、ラミネート層(1C)又はラミネート層(1C)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
ラミネート層(1C)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、ラミネート層(1C)の密度は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、密度が932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満、好ましくは934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、ラミネート層(1C)の密度を所定範囲内とすることができる。
ラミネート層(1C)の融点が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムに一層良好なレトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)を付与することができる。
ラミネート層(1C)の融点は、122~134℃であることがより好ましく、125~133℃であることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(1C)の融点は、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する材料の種類や量、ラミネート層(1C)又はラミネート層(1C)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
ラミネート層(1C)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、ラミネート層(1C)の融点は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、融点が120~135℃、好ましくは122~134℃である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、ラミネート層(1C)の融点を上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
ラミネート層(1C)のレトルト温度における融解率が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムに一層良好なレトルト適性(レトルト温度での耐熱性)を付与することができる。
ラミネート層(1C)の121℃における融解率は、45~95質量%であることがより好ましく、47~93質量%であることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(1C)のレトルト温度における融解率は、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する材料の種類や量、ラミネート層(1C)又はラミネート層(1C)を含む本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
ラミネート層(1C)のMFRが6.0g/10min以下であることで、本願第1発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムのレトルト温度での耐熱性と低温での耐衝撃性とを一層高いレベルで両立させることができ、耐衝撃性の向上等の好ましい効果が実現できる。
ラミネート層(1C)のMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、0.1~15g/10minであることがより好ましく、0.7~11g/10minであることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(1C)のMFRは、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する材料の種類や量を選択、調整することで適宜調整することができる。

ラミネート層(1C)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンは、上記にて説明したシール層(1A)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンと基本的には同種の樹脂である。
但し、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンは、メタロセン触媒を用いて重合されたものに限定される。したがって、シール層(1A)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンについての上記説明のうち、メタロセン触媒以外の触媒による直鎖状ポリエチレンの製造に関する記載は、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンには適用されない。
また、ラミネート層(1C)の密度は932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満なので、ラミネート層(1C)においては、層全体の密度がこの範囲内となる様な密度の直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用する。
より具体的には、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度は、932~940未満kg/m3の範囲内であることが好ましく、934~940未満kg/m3の範囲内であることがより好ましく、936~940未満kg/m3の範囲内であることが特に好ましい。
この観点から、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンとしては、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)よりも直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)が好ましく、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンのみを使用するか、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンが大半を占める組み合わせで使用することが好ましい。
ラミネート層(1C)においては、直鎖状ポリエチレン1種類のみを使用してもよく、2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用してもよい。2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用する場合には、上述の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、当該2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンの質量の合計に基づいて計算される。
従って、ラミネート層(1C)は、基材層(D)をはじめとする他の層との間のラミネート強度等を考慮して設計することが好ましい。
ラミネート層(1C)には、コロナ処理等の表面処理を行って他の層との接着性を向上してもよい。
ブロッキング防止剤としては、粉末状のシリカ、好ましくは合成シリカ、等を好適に使用することができる。粉末状のシリカをラミネート層(1C)中に均一に分散させる観点からは、粉末状のシリカを、ラミネート層(1C)を構成する樹脂との混和性に優れた樹脂中に分散してマスターバッチを形成し、次いでマスターバッチをラミネート層(1C)に添加してもよい。
一方、原料コスト等の観点からは、30μm以下であることが好ましく、20μm以下であることが特に好ましい。
各種添加剤は、マスターバッチ形式で添加してもよい。
本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、シール層(1A)、コア層(1B)、及びラミネート層(1C)を有する。本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムにおいては、好ましくはコア層(1B)を介して、ラミネート層(1C)とシール層(1A)とが直接積層されるが、それ以外の層が間に存在していてもよい。
一方、機械的物性の向上の観点からは、延伸フィルムであることが好ましく、二軸延伸フィルムであることが特に好ましい。
二軸延伸は、逐次二軸延伸、同時二軸延伸、多段延伸等の方法が適宜採用される。
二軸延伸の条件としては、公知の二軸延伸フィルムの製造条件、例えば、逐次二軸延伸法では、縦延伸温度を100℃~145℃、延伸倍率を4~7倍の範囲、横延伸温度を150~190℃、延伸倍率を8~11倍の範囲とすることが挙げられる。
ここで、レトルト温度での耐熱性とは、レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを用いて形成されたレトルト食品包装体をレトルト温度(本願においては120℃)で熱処理する際に、包装体内面のシール層同士が熱融着せずに、包装体の適切な状態が保たれることをいう。
本願実施例に記載の方法により評価した場合、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを用いて形成した包装容器は、121℃で45分間レトルト処理した場合、融着が発生しないか非常に軽い融着で容易に剥離できる等、融着を効果的に防止し得る。
本願第1発明においては、樹脂組成を更に最適化する等してレトルト温度での耐熱性をさらに向上することができる。例えば、各層の密度、特にシール層(1A)の密度を高く設定することで、レトルト温度での耐熱性を一層向上することができる。
本願実施例に記載の方法により評価した場合、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを用いて形成した包装容器は、通常破袋までに15回以上の落下を要し、好ましくは20回以上の落下を要し、更に好ましくは25回以上の落下を要する。
本願第1発明においては、樹脂組成を更に最適化する等して低温での耐衝撃性をさらに向上することができる。例えば、各層の密度を低く設定することで、低温での耐衝撃性を一層向上することができる。
所望に応じて、本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを、そのラミネート層(1C)において、基材層(D)と積層することができる。
好ましい基材層(D)の材質としては、例えば、ナイロン6、ナイロン66、パラまたはメタキシリレンアジパミドの如きポリアミド類;結晶性ポリプロピレン、結晶性プロピレン-エチレン共重合体、結晶性ポリブテン-1、結晶性ポリ4-メチルペンテン-1、低-、中-、或いは高密度ポリエチレン、エチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)、エチレン-アクリル酸エチル共重合体(EEA)、イオン架橋オレフィン共重合体(アイオノマー)等のポリオレフィン類;ポリスチレン、スチレン-ブタジエン共重合体等の芳香族ビニル共重合体;ポリ塩化ビニル、塩化ビニリデン樹脂等のハロゲン化ビニル重合体;アクリロニトリル-スチレン共重合体、アクリロニトリル-スチレン-ブタジエン共重合体の如きニトリル重合体;ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリテトラメチレンテレフタレート等のポリエステル類;各種ポリカーボネート;ポリオキシメチレン等のポリアセタール類等の熱可塑性樹脂から構成されたプラスチックフィルムを挙げることができる。また、包装する内容物が酸素に敏感なものの場合には、上記フィルムに金属、金属酸化物等を蒸着したフィルム、或いは有機化合物を被覆したフィルムや、エチレンビニルアルコール共重合体(EVOH)樹脂からなる層を設けてもよい。
これらの材料からなるプラスチックフィルムは、未延伸で用いてもよく、一軸延伸、或いは二軸延伸して用いてもよい。
好ましい基材層(D)として、例えば、延伸ナイロンフィルム、延伸ポリエステルフィルムからなる単層フィルム、低密度ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等のポリオレフィンフィルムとPETを積層した二層構成のフィルム、PET/ナイロン/ポリエチレンを積層した三層構成のフィルム等が挙げられる。これらの積層フィルムの製造に際しては、各層間に必要に応じて接着剤、アンカー剤を介在させることもできる。また、デザインを表現するインキ層を設けてもよい。
基材層(D)の厚さは任意に設定することができるが、通常は、5~1000μm、好ましくは9~100μmの範囲から選択される。
レトルト食品包装容器の形状には特に制限は無く、袋状の包装容器、蓋材とカップ等の本体とならなる包装容器等を好適な例として挙げることができる。
本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムをレトルト食品包装容器に使用する場合、例えば、レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムそのもの又はこれを基材層(D)と積層した積層フィルムを、折りたたんで三方シールしたり、2枚のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム又は上記積層フィルムを四方シールして袋状の包装容器としてもよい。あるいは、レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム又はそれを基材層(D)と貼り合せた蓋材とカップ等の容器本体とを熱シールして包装容器を形成してもよい。その様な包装体の好適な一例として、上記蓋材とポリプロピレン、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレートのうち少なくとも1種を含む容器本体部からなる包装容器を挙げることができる。
本願第1発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは従来技術の限界を超えて高いレベルでレトルト温度での耐熱性と低温での耐衝撃性とがバランスしているので、これを用いたレトルト食品包装容器は、100~135℃、好ましくは121℃以下での加熱加圧殺菌処理用途に好適に使用できる。また、低温での耐衝撃性を活用して、低温保存/流通(冷凍~チルド)において好適に使用される。
本願第2発明は、それぞれ直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する(2A)シール層、(2B)コア層、及び(2C)ラミネート層を有するレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムであって、
(2B)コア層及び(2C)ラミネート層の121℃における熱融解率が30~95質量%であり、
(2A)シール層の121℃における熱融解率が5~50質量%である、
レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム、である。
すなわち、本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、シール層(2A)、コア層(2B)、及びラミネート層(2C)を有する。
本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを構成するシール層(2A)は、直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する。したがって、シール層(2A)は直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成されていてもよく、直鎖状ポリエチレンに加えて他の成分、例えば他の樹脂や、アンチブロッキング剤、スリッピング剤等の各種添加剤を含有していてもよい。
シール層(2A)直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有することで、本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、広い加工温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができ、またヒートシール性、柔軟性、可撓性、気密性等の、シーラントフィルム一般に求められる物性を適切に具備することができる。
シール層(2A)の121℃における熱融解率が5~50質量%の範囲内にあることで、それ以外の本願第2発明の要件と相俟って、本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの加工可能温度範囲を拡大することができる。
シール層(2A)の121℃における融解率は、35質量%以下であることがより好ましく、30質量%以下であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(2A)の熱融解率は、シール層(2A)を構成する材料の種類や量、シール層(2A)又はシール層(2A)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
シール層(2A)の密度は、925kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下であることが好ましく、930kg/m3以上955kg/m3以下であることがより好ましく、940kg/m3以上953kg/m3以下であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(2A)の密度は、シール層(2A)を構成する材料の種類や量、シール層(2A)又はシール層(2A)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
シール層(2A)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、シール層(2A)の密度は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、密度が915kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下、好ましくは930kg/m3以上955kg/m3以下、より好ましくは940kg/m3以上953kg/m3以下である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、シール層(2A)の密度を上記範囲内とすることができる。
シール層(2A)の融点が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの加工可能温度範囲を一層拡大することができる。
シール層(2A)の融点は、122~134℃であることがより好ましく、125~133℃であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(2A)の融点は、シール層(2A)を構成する材料の種類や量、シール層(2A)又はシール層(2A)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
シール層(2A)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、シール層(2A)の融点は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、融点が120~135℃、好ましくは125~133℃である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、シール層(2A)の融点を上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
シール層(2A)のMFRが上記範囲内にあることで、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造が一層容易となり、押出時の樹脂圧が適切な範囲となる等の好ましい効果が実現できる。
シール層(2A)のMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、0.5~12g/10minであることがより好ましく、0.7~11g/10minであることが特に好ましい。
シール層(2A)のMFRは、シール層(2A)を構成する材料の種類や量を選択、調整することで適宜調整することができる。
シール層(2A)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、シール層(2A)のMFRは当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合にはMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)が0.1~15g/10min、より好ましくは0.5~12g/10minである直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、シール層(2A)MFRを上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
シール層(2A)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンは、実質的に直鎖状である主鎖を有するエチレンの単独重合体又はエチレンと他の単量体との共重合体であればよく、それ以外の制限は存在しない。直鎖状ポリエチレンの代表的な形態として、高密度ポリエチレン及び直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンを挙げることができる。
シール層(2A)においては、シール層(2A)の密度を好ましい範囲、例えば915kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下とすることができる直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することが好ましい。
シール層(2A)の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、20質量%以上であることが好ましく、25~100質量%であることがより好ましく、30~100質量%であることが特に好ましい。
シール層(2A)においては、直鎖状ポリエチレン1種類のみを使用してもよく、2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用してもよい。2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用する場合には、上述の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、当該2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンの質量の合計に基づいて計算する。
直鎖状ポリエチレンの代表的な一形態である高密度ポリエチレンとしては、当該技術分野において一般に高密度ポリエチレンとして知られているものを適宜使用することができる。
高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)は、エチレン単独重合体であってもよく、またはエチレンとα-オレフィンの共重合体であってもよい。
MFRが上記範囲にあることで、成形加工時に押出機の負荷が低くなるとともに、成形安定性が向上するので、好ましい。
密度が上記範囲にあることで、シール層(2A)の密度を好ましい範囲、例えば915kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下とすることが容易となる。
直鎖状ポリエチレンの代表的な一形態である直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとしては、当該技術分野において一般に直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとして知られているものを適宜使用することができる。その様な直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとして、エチレンと、αーオレフィンとの共重合体を用いることができ、チーグラー触媒、メタロセン触媒等の公知の触媒を用いた製造方法により合成したものを用いることができる。
尤も、重合の工程でエチレンを多量化してα-オレフィンを生成させることもでき、この場合は実質的にエチレンのみを原料として製造することもできる。
直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンの密度は、コモノマー含量を調整することで適宜調整することができ、また触媒や重合温度等の重合条件を選択、調製することでも適宜調整することができる。
直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンのMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、従来公知の方法により適宜調整することが可能であり、重合温度等の重合条件を調整したり、分子量調整剤を導入すること等で調整することが可能である。
層状珪酸塩、SiO2、Al2O3、MgO、ZrO2、TiO2、B2O3、CaO、ZnO、BaO、ThO2等またはこれらの混合物が挙げられる。
好ましいチーグラー触媒としては、エチレン、α-オレフィンの配位重合に用いるチーグラー触媒として一般的に知られているものでよく、例えばチタン化合物および有機アルミニウム化合物を含む触媒であり、ハロゲン化チタン化合物と有機アルミニウム化合物からなる触媒、チタニウム、マグネシム、塩素等からなる固体触媒成分と有機アルミニウム化合物からなる触媒等を例示することができる。このような触媒としては、より具体的には、無水マグネシウムジハロゲン化物のアルコール予備処理物と有機金属化合物との反応生成物にチタン化合物を反応させて得られる触媒成分(ai)と有機金属化合物(bi)からなる触媒、マグネシウム金属と水酸化有機化合物またはマグネシウムなどの酸素含有有機化合物、遷移金属の酸素含有有機化合物、およびアルミニウムハロゲン化物を反応させて得られる触媒成分(aii)と有機金属化合物の触媒成分(bii)とからなる触媒、(i)金属マグネシウムと水酸化有機化合物、マグネシウムの酸素含有有機化合物、およびハロゲン含有化合物から選んだ少なくとも一員、(ii)遷移金属の酸素含有有機化合物およびハロゲン含有化合物から選ばれた少なくとも一員、(iii)ケイ素化合物を反応させて得られる反応物と、(iv)ハロゲン化アルミニウム化合物を反応させて得られる固体触媒成分(aiii)と有機金属化合物の触媒成分(biii)とからなる触媒等を例示することができる。
これらの添加成分は、あらかじめ直鎖状ポリエチレンに配合されていてもよく、また直鎖状ポリエチレンからシール層(2A)を形成するにあたって添加してもよい。
一方、可撓性や経済性等の観点からは、シール層(2A)の厚みは30μm以下であることが好ましく、25μm以下であることがより好ましく、20μm以下であることが特に好ましい。
本願第2発明の積層フィルムの製造にあたって延伸を行う場合には、延伸倍率は、面積倍率で1~100倍であることが好ましく、4~80倍であることが特に好ましい。延伸前のシール層(2A)にあたる層の厚みは、0.3~12mmであることが好ましく、0.5~4mmであることが特に好ましい。
シール層(2A)の厚みは、延伸倍率等の延伸条件や、延伸前の層厚み、当該延伸前の層を形成する際のダイのリップ間隔等を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
コア層(2B)は、直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する層であって、その121℃における熱融解率が30~95質量である層である。
コア層(2B)の121℃における融解率が上記範囲内にあることで、それ以外の本願第2発明の要件と相俟って、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、広い加工可能温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができる。
コア層(2B)の121℃における融解率は、45~95質量%であることがより好ましく、47~93質量%であることが特に好ましい。
コア層(2B)の121℃における融解率は、コア層(2B)を構成する材料の種類や量、コア層(2B)又はコア層(2B)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
メタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンは耐衝撃性に優れるので、コア層(2B)がメタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有することで、本実施形態のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、加工可能温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができ、またヒートシール性、柔軟性、可撓性、密閉性等の、シーラントフィルム一般に求められる物性を適切に具備することができる。
コア層(2B)の密度は、934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることがより好ましく、936kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることが特に好ましい。
コア層(2B)の密度は、コア層(2B)を構成する材料の種類や量、コア層(2B)又はコア層(2B)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
コア層(2B)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、コア層(2B)の密度は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、密度が932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満、好ましくは934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、コア層(2B)の密度を上記の好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
コア層(2B)の融点が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの加工可能温度範囲を一層拡大することができる。
コア層(2B)の融点は、122~134℃であることがより好ましく、125~133℃であることが特に好ましい。
コア層(2B)の融点は、コア層(2B)を構成する材料の種類や量、コア層(2B)又はコア層(2B)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
コア層(2B)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、コア層(2B)の融点は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、融点が120~135℃、好ましくは122~134℃である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、コア層(2B)の融点を上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
コア層(2B)のMFRが6.0g/10min以下であることで、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの加工可能温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを一層高いレベルで両立させることができ、耐衝撃性の向上等の好ましい効果が実現できる。
コア層(2B)のMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、0.1~15g/10minであることがより好ましく、0.7~11g/10minであることが特に好ましい。
コア層(2B)のMFRは、コア層(2B)を構成する材料の種類や量を選択、調整することで適宜調整することができる。
コア層(2B)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、コア層(2B)のMFRは当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合にはMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)が0.1~15g/10min、より好ましくは0.7~11g/10minである直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、コア層(2B)MFRを上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
より具体的には、コア層(2B)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度は、932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることが好ましく、934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることがより好ましく、936kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることが特に好ましい。
この観点から、コア層(2B)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンとしては、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)よりも直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)が好ましく、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンのみを使用するか、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンが大半を占める組み合わせで使用することが好ましい。
コア層(2B)においては、直鎖状ポリエチレン1種類のみを使用してもよく、2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用してもよい。2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用する場合には、上述の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、当該2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンの質量の合計に基づいて計算される。
より具体的には、コア層(2B)の厚みは、9μm以上であることが好ましく、15μm以上であることが特に好ましい。
一方、原料コスト等の観点からは、コア層(2B)の厚みは、90μm以下であることが好ましく、60μm以下であることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(2C)は、直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する層であって、その121℃における熱融解率が30~95質量である層である。
ラミネート層(2C)の121℃における融解率が上記範囲内にあることで、それ以外の本願第2発明の要件と相俟って、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、広い加工可能温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができる。
ラミネート層(2C)の121℃における融解率は、45~95質量%であることがより好ましく、47~93質量%であることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(2C)の121℃における融解率は、ラミネート層(2C)を構成する材料の種類や量、ラミネート層(2C)又はコア層ラミネート層(2C)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
メタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンは耐衝撃性に優れるので、ラミネート層(2C)がメタロセン触媒を用いて重合された直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有することで、本実施形態のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、加工可能温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを高いレベルでバランスさせることができ、またヒートシール性、柔軟性、可撓性、密閉性等の、シーラントフィルム一般に求められる物性を適切に具備することができる。
ラミネート層(2C)の密度は、934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることがより好ましく、936kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(2C)の密度は、ラミネート層(2C)を構成する材料の種類や量、ラミネート層(2C)又はラミネート層(2C)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
ラミネート層(2C)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、ラミネート層(2C)の密度は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、密度が932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満、好ましくは934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、ラミネート層(2C)の密度を上記の好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
ラミネート層(2C)の融点が上記範囲内にあることで、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの加工可能温度範囲を一層拡大することができる。
ラミネート層(2C)の融点は、122~134℃であることがより好ましく、125~133℃であることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(2C)の融点は、ラミネート層(2C)を構成する材料の種類や量、ラミネート層(2C)又はラミネート層(2C)を含む本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの製造条件を調整することで、適宜調整することができる。
ラミネート層(2C)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、ラミネート層(2C)の融点は当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合には、融点が120~135℃、好ましくは122~134℃である直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、ラミネート層(2C)の融点を上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
ラミネート層(2C)のMFRが6.0g/10min以下であることで、本願第2発明の食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムの加工可能温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを一層高いレベルで両立させることができ、耐衝撃性の向上等の好ましい効果が実現できる。
ラミネート層(2C)のMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)は、0.1~15g/10minであることがより好ましく、0.7~11g/10minであることが特に好ましい。
ラミネート層(2C)のMFRは、ラミネート層(2C)を構成する材料の種類や量を選択、調整することで適宜調整することができる。
ラミネート層(2C)が直鎖状ポリエチレンのみで構成され、あるいは直鎖状ポリエチレンと少量の添加剤のみで構成される場合には、ラミネート層(2C)のMFRは当該直鎖状ポリエチレンの融点でほぼ決定されるので、その様な場合にはMFR(190℃、2160g荷重)が0.1~15g/10min、より好ましくは0.7~11g/10minである直鎖状ポリエチレンを使用することで、ラミネート層(2C)MFRを上記好ましい範囲内とすることができる。
より具体的には、ラミネート層(2C)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンの密度は、932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることが好ましく、934kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることがより好ましく、936kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満の範囲内であることが特に好ましい。
この観点から、ラミネート層(2C)を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンとしては、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)よりも直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)が好ましく、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンのみを使用するか、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンが大半を占める組み合わせで使用することが好ましい。
ラミネート層(2C)においては、直鎖状ポリエチレン1種類のみを使用してもよく、2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用してもよい。2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンを組み合わせて使用する場合には、上述の直鎖状ポリエチレン含有量は、当該2種類以上の直鎖状ポリエチレンの質量の合計に基づいて計算される。
従って、ラミネート層(2C)は、基材層(2D)をはじめとする他の層との間のラミネート強度等を考慮して設計することが好ましい。
ラミネート層(2C)には、コロナ処理等の表面処理を行って他の層との接着性を向上してもよい。
ブロッキング防止剤としては、粉末状のシリカ、好ましくは合成シリカ、等を好適に使用することができる。粉末状のシリカをラミネート層(2C)中に均一に分散させる観点からは、粉末状のシリカを、ラミネート層(2C)を構成する樹脂との混和性に優れた樹脂中に分散してマスターバッチを形成し、次いでマスターバッチをラミネート層(2C)に添加してもよい。
一方、原料コスト等の観点からは、30μm以下であることが好ましく、20μm以下であることが特に好ましい。
各種添加剤は、マスターバッチ形式で添加してもよい。
本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、シール層(2A)、コア層(2B)、及びラミネート層(2C)を有する。本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムにおいては、好ましくはコア層(2B)を介して、ラミネート層(2C)とシール層(2A)とが直接積層されるが、それ以外の層が間に存在していてもよい。
一方、機械的物性の向上の観点からは、延伸フィルムであることが好ましく、二軸延伸フィルムであることが特に好ましい。
二軸延伸は、逐次二軸延伸、同時二軸延伸、多段延伸等の方法が適宜採用される。
二軸延伸の条件としては、公知の二軸延伸フィルムの製造条件、例えば、逐次二軸延伸法では、縦延伸温度を100℃~145℃、延伸倍率を4~7倍の範囲、横延伸温度を150~190℃、延伸倍率を8~11倍の範囲とすることが挙げられる。
ここで、加工可能温度範囲とは、シール層(2A)同士が接する様に包装容器を形成し、所定のレトルト温度でレトルト処理を行った後に、包装容器が大きく変形したりすることなく容易に開封できるレトルト温度の範囲をいう。
本願実施例に記載の方法により評価した場合、本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを用いて形成した包装容器は、少なくとも115℃~117℃で45分間レトルト処理した場合、融着が発生しないか非常に軽い融着で容易に剥離できる等、融着を効果的に防止し得ること、すなわち115~117℃の加工可能温度範囲を有することが好ましい。この場合の加工可能温度範囲は、115~120℃であることがより好ましく、115~121℃であることが更に好ましい。
本願第2発明においては、樹脂組成を更に最適化する等して加工可能温度範囲を更に拡大することができる。例えば、各層の密度、特にシール層(2A)の密度を高く設定することや、融解率を低く設定することで、加工可能温度範囲を更に拡大することができる。
本願実施例に記載の方法により評価した場合、本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを用いて形成した包装容器は、通常破袋までに15回以上の落下を要し、好ましくは20回以上の落下を要し、更に好ましくは25回以上の落下を要する。
本願第2発明においては、樹脂組成を更に最適化する等して低温での耐衝撃性をさらに向上することができる。例えば、各層の密度を低く設定することで、低温での耐衝撃性を一層向上することができる。
所望に応じて、本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを、そのラミネート層(2C)において、基材層(D)と積層することができる。
レトルト食品包装容器の形状には特に制限は無く、袋状の包装容器、蓋材とカップ等の本体とならなる包装容器等を好適な例として挙げることができる。
本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムをレトルト食品包装容器に使用する場合、例えば、レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムそのもの又はこれを基材層(D)と積層した積層フィルムを、折りたたんで三方シールしたり、2枚のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム又は上記積層フィルムを四方シールして袋状の包装容器としてもよい。あるいは、レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム又はそれを基材層(D)と貼り合せた蓋材とカップ等の容器本体とを熱シールして包装容器を形成してもよい。その様な包装体の好適な一例として、上記蓋材とポリプロピレン、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレートのうち少なくとも1種を含む容器本体部からなる包装容器を挙げることができる。
本願第2発明のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムは、広い加工可能温度範囲と低温での耐衝撃性とを従来技術の限界を超えた高いレベルで兼ね備えているので、これを用いたレトルト食品包装容器はレトルト処理プロセスや収納する食品の自由度等が高く、例えば100~135℃、好ましくは121℃以下での加熱加圧殺菌処理用途に好適に使用できる。また、低温での耐衝撃性を活用して、低温保存/流通(冷凍~チルド)において好適に使用される。
(1)耐熱性(レトルト適性)
基材(厚み15μmのナイロンフィルム)上に各実施例/比較例のシーラントフィルムのラミネート層(1C)をラミネート加工して積層フィルムを作製した。
上記積層フィルム2枚のシール層(1A)側を重ね合わせ、3辺をヒートシールして、三方袋を作製した。
上記三方袋の内部が接するように脱気した後に、三方袋の残る1辺をヒートシールした後、115℃又は120℃で、45分間レトルト処理した。
三方袋の内部の融着の有無、程度を、以下の基準に基づき官能検査で評価した。三方袋が容易に開封できたものを合格(○)、融着により開封が困難なものを不合格(×)と判定した。
基材(厚み15μmのナイロンフィルム)上に各実施例/比較例のシーラントフィルムのラミネート層(1C)をラミネート加工して積層フィルムを作製した。
上記積層フィルム2枚のシール層(1A)側を重ね合わせ、3辺をヒートシールして、三方袋を作製した。
上記三方袋内に水300mlを充填し、残る1辺をヒートシールして密閉された袋を形成した後、121℃でレトルト処理した。
次いで、袋を5℃冷蔵庫内に24時間蔵置した後、5℃冷蔵庫内で破袋するまで繰り返し落下し、破袋時の落下回数を記録した。袋の上に1.0kgの重りを置いて、重りとともに60cmの高さから落下させた。
サンプル数Nは10とし、破袋時の落下回数の平均値を、当該実施例/比較例の評価値とした。
示差走査熱量計(DSC)(TAインスツルメント社製、「Q200」、ソフト:「TA Universal Analysis」で、昇温速度10℃/分で昇温させた時の融点を測定した。

スリッピング剤としてエルカ酸アミド4質量%、ベース樹脂として低密度ポリエチレンを96質量%配合した組成物
表1に記載の各層の樹脂をそれぞれ別の押出機に供給し、Tダイ法によって、厚み比率15:65:20で、シール層(1A)、コア層(1B)、およびラミネート層(1C)の三層共押出フィルムからなる総厚み50μm積層フィルムであるレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを成形した。
なお、表1に記載の各層の樹脂に加えて、シール層(1A)にはアンチブロッキング剤マスターバッチaを6質量%、スリッピング剤マスターバッチaを1.5質量%それぞれ添加し、ラミネート層(1C)には、アンチブロッキング剤マスターバッチaを1質量%添加した。
得られたレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムについて、上記の方法にしたがい耐熱性(レトルト適性)、及び低温耐衝撃性(落下破袋)を評価した。
結果を表1に示す。
各層の樹脂をそれぞれ表1に記載のとおり変更したことを除くほか、実施例a1と同様にしてレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを作製して、評価した。
結果を表1に示す。
(1)加工可能温度範囲
基材(厚み15μmのナイロンフィルム)上に各実施例/比較例のシーラントフィルムのラミネート層(2C)をラミネート加工して積層フィルムを作製した。
上記積層フィルム2枚のシール層(2A)側を重ね合わせ、3辺をヒートシールして、三方袋を作製した。
上記三方袋の内部が接するように脱気した後に、三方袋の残る1辺をヒートシールした後、115℃から121℃の範囲内で選択された所定温度で、45分間レトルト処理した。
三方袋の内部の融着の有無、程度を、以下の基準に基づき官能検査で評価した。4点以上を合格(〇)と判定し、合格(〇)となる温度範囲を加工可能温度範囲とした。
5:融着なし
4:非常に軽い融着で容易に剥離できる
3:部分的に融着し剥離は可能
2:全体的に融着し剥離困難
1:剥離不可なレベルで融着が発生
本願第1発明に関する実施例/比較例/参考例に関して、上記にて説明したものと同様の方法で測定した。但し、「ラミネート層(1C)」及び「シール層(1A)」とあるのは、それぞれ「ラミネート層(2C)」及び「シール層(2A)」と読み替える。
本願第1発明に関する実施例/比較例/参考例に関して、上記にて説明したものと同様の方法で測定した。
示差走査熱量計(DSC)(TAインスツルメント社製、「Q200」、ソフト:「TA Universal Analysis」で、昇温速度10℃/分で昇温させた時の融解熱量(J/g)を測定し、その融解熱量を原料固有の融解熱量とした。融解開始温度から121℃までの融解熱量を原料固有の融解熱量で除した際の比率を121℃での融解率[%]とした。

なお、表2に記載の各層の樹脂に加えて、シール層(2A)にはアンチブロッキング剤マスターバッチを6質量%、スリッピング剤マスターバッチbを1.5質量%それぞれ添加し、ラミネート層(2C)には、アンチブロッキング剤マスターバッチbを1質量%添加した。
得られたレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムについて、上記の方法にしたがい加工可能温度範囲、低温耐衝撃性(落下破袋)、及びインパクト強度を評価した。
結果を表2に示す。
各層の樹脂をそれぞれ表2に記載のとおり変更したことを除くほか、実施例b1と同様にしてレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムを作製して、評価した。
結果を表2に示す。
Claims (10)
- それぞれ直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する(1A)シール層、(1B)コア層、及び(1C)ラミネート層を有するレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムであって、
(1A)シール層の密度が915kg/m3以上960kg/m3以下であり、
(1B)コア層及び(1C)ラミネート層の密度が、いずれも932kg/m3以上940kg/m3未満であり、
(1B)コア層及び(1C)ラミネート層を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンが、いずれもメタロセン触媒を用いて重合されたものである、
レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム。 - (1B)コア層及び(1C)ラミネート層のメルトフローレート(190℃、2160g荷重)が、いずれも6.0g/10min以下である、請求項1に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム。
- (1A)シール層の密度が940kg/m3以上、953kg/m3以下である、請求項1又は2に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム。
- 請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムと基材フィルムとを有し、前記基材フィルムが、(1C)ラミネート層において前記レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムと積層されている、レトルト食品包装容器用フィルム。
- 請求項4に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用フィルムを含む、レトルト食品包装容器。
- それぞれ直鎖状ポリエチレンを含有する(2A)シール層、(2B)コア層、及び(2C)ラミネート層を有するレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムであって、
(2B)コア層及び(2C)ラミネート層の121℃における熱融解率が30~95質量%であり、
(2A)シール層の121℃における熱融解率が5~50質量%である、
レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム。 - (2A)シール層の121℃における熱融解率が5~35質量%である、請求項6に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム。
- (2B)コア層及び(2C)ラミネート層を構成する直鎖状ポリエチレンが、いずれもメタロセン触媒を用いて重合されたものである、請求項6又は7に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルム。
- 請求項6から8のいずれか一項に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムと基材フィルムとを有し、前記基材フィルムが、(2C)ラミネート層において前記レトルト食品包装容器用シーラントフィルムと積層されている、レトルト食品包装容器用フィルム。
- 請求項9に記載のレトルト食品包装容器用フィルムを含む、レトルト食品包装容器。
