上述したように構成される袋状保護部材1、位置検出センサ部材2、スペーサ部材3、基板カバー部材4、USBケーブル5を準備すれば、以下のようにして第1の実施の形態の位置検出装置(板タブレット)を簡単に組みたることができる。この場合、工具を使用する必要ない。なお、第1の実施の形態においては、上述もしたように、USBケーブル5は、一方の端部に設けられている回路側接続部52が、既に位置検出センサ部材2の位置検出回路部23に接続されて提供されるものとする。従って、USBケーブル5を位置検出回路部23に接続する作業工程は必要ない。以下、組み立て手順を説明する。

図9は、第1の実施の形態の位置検出装置の積層構造を説明するための図である。図9(A)に示すように、第1の実施の形態の位置検出装置の指示入力を受け付ける部分である操作入力領域14の構成は、袋状保護部材1の表面シート11と裏面シート12との間に位置検出センサ部材2のセンサ部21が位置するものとなる。センサ部21は、図4を用いて説明したように、下から順にメタルシート部材21MS、X軸方向ループコイル群21X、絶縁層21ZK、Y軸方向ループコイル群21Yが積層されて形成されたものであり、その厚みは1.0mm以下となるものである。
上述した第1の実施の形態の位置検出装置によれば、極めて薄型であるために、曲げても割れず、持ち運びが容易で、構成が簡単な位置検出装置を実現することができる。また、イニシャルコストを抑え、多くのサイズ展開が可能な位置検出装置を実現できる。更には、使用者の好みに応じた、多種の位置検出装置の提供も可能になる。具体的には、色、サイズ、形状などの異なる複数種類の、袋状保護部材1、位置検出センサ部材2、スペーサ部材3、基板カバー部材4、USBケーブル5を用意しておく。
第1の実施の形態の位置検出装置(板タブレット)1の最も簡単な構成は、2枚のポリプロピレンシートの3方の辺部を溶着した袋状保護部材の中にUSBケーブルが接続された位置検出センサ部材2を収納して、溶着していない辺部(入口)を溶着して閉じるようにしたものとなる。しかし、上述したように、表面シート11に開口部13を設けた袋状保護部材1を用いることで、容易に袋状保護部材1内に位置検出センサ部材のセンサ部21を収納して位置検出装置を形成することができる。
以下に説明する第2の実施の形態の位置検出装置100は、柔軟性のある1枚の筐体シート101の表側に位置検出回路部301を配置し、裏側にセンサ部302を配置して構成するものである。この場合に、筐体シート101の表側に配置した位置検出回路部301を高剛性スペーサ部材110で保護すると共に、筐体シート101を折り返すようにする。これにより、位置検出回路部301及び高剛性スペーサ部材110を筐体シート101に封入するようにして、一体となる位置検出装置100を構成している。以下に、第2の実施の形態の位置検出装置100について詳細に説明する。

なお、上述したように、第2の実施の形態の位置検出装置100において、筐体シート101の厚さは0.7mmであり、裏面保護シート102の厚さが0.2mmである。このため、例えば、センサ部302の厚さが0.4mmで、操作面シート200の厚さが0.3mmであるとすると、操作面シート200が設けられた部分の多くの部分を厚さが、1.6mm以下の薄型の位置検出装置が実現できる。この場合に、板バネ111L、111Rなどを考慮に入れても、全体として厚さが2.0mm以下の位置検出装置を実現できる。
上述した第2の実施の形態の位置検出装置によれば、極めて薄型で、反りや捩じれを生じさせることがなく、平坦で良好に電子ペンによる指示入力を行うことが可能で、持ち運びが容易で、構成が簡単な位置検出装置を実現することができる。また、イニシャルコストを抑え、多くのサイズ展開が可能な位置検出装置を実現できる。更には、使用者の好みに応じた、多種の位置検出装置の提供も可能になる。
上述した第2の実施の形態において、筐体シート101、裏面保護シート102は、ポリプロピレン製のものとして説明したが、これに限るものではない。筐体シート101、裏面保護シート102は、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリアミド、ポリアセタール、ポリ塩化ビニール、ABS樹脂、ポリカーボネイトなど、種々の樹脂材料を用いて形成できる。
上述した第2の実施の形態の位置検出装置100において用いた板バネ111L、111Rを、第1の実施の形態の位置検出装置に対して適用することも可能である。また、第2の実施の形態の位置検出装置100の裏面保護使シート102の露呈する面に、更に滑り止めシートを貼付したり、裏面保護シート102自体に滑り止め機能を付加したりするなどのことも可能である。
Claims (23)
- 第1の方向に配列された複数の第1の電極と、前記第1の方向に交差する第2の方向に配列された複数の第2の電極とを積層して形成したシート状のセンサ部と、
前記センサ部の複数の前記第1の電極と複数の前記第2の電極とからの出力信号に基づいて、前記センサ部上の指示位置を検出する位置検出回路部と、
袋状に形成され、開口より少なくとも前記センサ部を収納し、表面が操作面となる袋状保護部材と
を備えて構成される位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材は、周囲は閉じて、表面に前記センサ部を収納するための開口部が設けられたものである
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材は、周囲は閉じて、表面に前記センサ部を収納するための開口部が設けられたものであり、
前記センサ部と前記位置検出回路部とは、前記袋状保護部材内に収納され、
前記袋状保護部材の前記開口部は塞がれて密閉される
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材は、周囲は閉じて、表面に前記センサ部を収納するための開口部が設けられたものであり、
前記センサ部は、前記袋状保護部材内に収納され、
前記位置検出回路部は、前記袋状保護部材の前記開口部部分に配置され、
前記袋状保護部材部の前記開口部の周囲を囲み、一方の面が前記袋状保護部材に対して密着して設けられる所定の厚みを有するスペーサ部材と、
前記スペーサの他方の面に対して密着して設けられることにより、前記袋状保護部材の前記開口部を塞いで密閉する基板カバー部材と
を備えることを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記位置検出回路部には、外部接続用のケーブルが取り付けられている
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材の前記操作面には、位置指示器を接触させて筆記入力を行う場合に、所望の書き味を感じさせるようにする上面シートが配置される
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材の前記操作面とは反対側の面には、滑り止め防止シートが配置される
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材の少なくとも前記操作面は、透明あるいは半透明の素材により形成される
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材は、樹脂素材により、変形可能に構成されている
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記袋状保護部材は、樹脂素材により形成され、周囲が熱溶着により密着するようにされて袋状に形成されている
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記センサ部の背面には、メタルシート部材が設けられており、当該メタルシートと前記センサ部とが、前記袋状保護部材内に収納される
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記センサ部の積層される複数の前記第1の電極と複数の前記第2の電極との間には、絶縁層が設けられる
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極とは、ループコイルの構成とされて、電磁誘導方式のセンサ部を構成し、
前記位置検出回路部は、複数の前記第1の電極と複数の前記第2の電極から順次に選択した電極に電力を供給して磁界を発生させる送信期間と、電力の供給を停止し、複数の前記第1の電極と複数の前記第2の電極から順次に選択した電極を通じて外部からの磁界を受信する受信期間とを交互に設けることができる
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項1に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極とは、線状導体であり、静電容量方式の位置検出センサを構成する
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 第1の方向に配列された複数の第1の電極と、前記第1の方向に交差する第2の方向に配列された複数の第2の電極とを積層して形成したシート状のセンサ部と、
前記センサ部の複数の前記第1の電極と複数の前記第2の電極とからの出力信号に基づいて、前記センサ部上の指示位置を検出する位置検出回路部と、
1枚の筐体シートと
を備え、
前記センサ部は、前記筐体シートの裏面に配設し、
前記位置検出回路部は、前記筐体シートの表面に配設してなる
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項15に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記筐体シートは、本体部と折り返し部とからなり、
前記位置検出回路部は、前記折り返し部の下側に配設し、
前記折り返し部を前記位置検出回路側に折り返すことにより、前記位置検出回路部を前記筐体シートで封入する
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項16に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記筐体シートの前記本体部と前記折り返し部との境界部分の折り返し部分には、1以上のスリットが設けられている
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項16に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記筐体シートの前記本体部と前記折り返し部との境界部分の折り返し部分に対して、外部フックを設けた
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項15に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記筐体シート上に配設された位置検出回路を覆うスペーサを設けた
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項15に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記筐体シートの裏面に設けられるセンサ部の裏面の左右両端のそれぞれに板バネを配設した
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項15に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記筐体シートの裏面に設けられるセンサ部を覆う裏面保護シートを設けた
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項15に記載の位置検出装置であって、
前記第1の電極と前記第2の電極とは、ループコイルの構成とされて、電磁誘導方式のセンサ部を構成し、
前記位置検出回路部は、複数の前記第1の電極と複数の前記第2の電極から順次に選択した電極に電力を供給して磁界を発生させる送信期間と、電力の供給を停止し、複数の前記第1の電極と複数の前記第2の電極から順次に選択した電極を通じて外部からの磁界を受信する受信期間とを交互に設けることができる
ことを特徴とする位置検出装置。 - 請求項15に記載の位置検出装置であって、
