- the control device 5 further switches the control command to be sent to the supply system 15 .
- the pulverized coal supply system 70 changes to a supply stop state, and the fuel burner 35 functioning as a coal burner stops.
- the ammonia supply system 100 increases the amount of liquid ammonia supplied. As a result, in the boiler 2, mono-firing of ammonia is performed.
- An ammonia fuel boiler (2) according to at least one embodiment of the present invention, a furnace (20) comprising a furnace wall (19); An ammonia burner (50) provided on the furnace wall (19), The ammonia burner (50) is an ammonia supply channel (52) configured to be supplied with liquid ammonia; and an ammonia injection nozzle (54) configured to inject the liquid ammonia supplied from the ammonia supply channel (52) into the furnace (20) in a liquid state.
- the liquid ammonia injected by the ammonia injection nozzle (54) is vaporized into ammonia gas and burned inside the furnace (20). Since the specific volume of liquid ammonia is smaller than the specific volume of ammonia gas, the ammonia supply passage (52) can be made smaller than when ammonia gas is supplied. Therefore, a low-cost ammonia fuel boiler (2) is realized.
- the ammonia injection nozzle (54) is a one-fluid nozzle for injecting the liquid ammonia without using an assist fluid.
- ammonia injection nozzle (54) is a two-fluid nozzle
- liquid ammonia may be mixed with other gas inside the ammonia injection nozzle (54) and the liquid ammonia may vaporize. Therefore, vapor lock may occur inside the ammonia injection nozzle (54), and liquid ammonia injection failure may occur.
- the ammonia injection nozzle (54) is a one-fluid nozzle
- vapor lock is suppressed and liquid ammonia is well injected.
- liquid ammonia droplets jetted from a single-fluid nozzle tend to be larger than liquid ammonia jetted from a two-fluid nozzle. Poor combustion is less likely to occur.
- the ammonia injection nozzle (54) is a dual-use nozzle capable of injecting starting fuel and the liquid ammonia.
- a burner pattern capable of varying the co-firing rate can be constructed by providing a nozzle capable of supplying both the starting fuel and the ammonia fuel.
- the ammonia burner (50) comprises a flame holding mechanism (60) configured to hold a combustion flame generated within the furnace (20).
- misfire may occur in the furnace (20).
- liquid ammonia must be vaporized and further pyrolyzed.
- the mechanism (60) having a flame holding effect holds the combustion flame, so that the liquid ammonia can obtain heat for vaporizing and thermally decomposing. Misfires in the furnace (20) can be suppressed.
- the mechanism (60) having the flame holding effect is an inner cylinder (62) in which the ammonia injection nozzle (54) is arranged; an outer cylinder (64) arranged to surround the inner cylinder (62) and having an air flow path (63A) communicating with the interior of the furnace (20) formed between the inner cylinder (62); a swirler (65) provided in the air flow path (63A) and configured to impart a swirling force to the air flowing through the outer cylinder (63).
- the swirler (65) imparts a swirling force to the air supplied to the furnace (20). This promotes mixing of the air with the liquid ammonia injected from the ammonia injection nozzle (54). Therefore, the diffusion of liquid ammonia inside the furnace (20) is promoted, so that the liquid ammonia in the furnace (20) is easily thermally decomposed.
- a fuel burner (35) is provided upstream of the ammonia burner (50) in the flow direction of gas generated inside the furnace (20) and configured to burn a carbon-containing fuel.
- the fuel burner (35) burns the carbon-containing fuel, which is more combustible than liquid ammonia, upstream of the ammonia burner (50).
- the space inside the furnace (20) for thermal decomposition of ammonia in the furnace (20) is kept at a high temperature. Therefore, the conditions for injecting liquid ammonia as fuel can be adjusted.
- the ammonia supply system (100) includes The ammonia fuel boiler (2) according to any one of (1) to (6) above; an ammonia tank (101) in which the liquid ammonia is stored; an oil supply line (82) connecting the ammonia tank (101) and the ammonia burner (50); a pump (103) provided in the oil supply line (82); a pressure regulating valve (105) for regulating the pressure of the oil supply line (82); a switching valve (107) provided in the oil supply line (82) for switching the state of communication between the ammonia tank (101) and the ammonia burner (50); Prepare.
- the specific volume of liquid ammonia is smaller than the specific volume of ammonia gas, so the ammonia supply line (102) can be miniaturized.
- the liquid ammonia is supplied to the ammonia burner (50) in a liquid state, it is not necessary to provide the ammonia supply line (102) with a vaporizer for vaporizing the liquid. Therefore, cost reduction of the ammonia supply system (100) is realized.
