Definitions
- the present invention relates to plastic bottles.
- Plastic bottles are widely used for the distribution and sale of liquid products such as beverages. From the viewpoint of resource saving, studies have been made to reduce the thickness of plastic bottles compared to conventional ones to reduce the amount of plastic materials used. In particular, various designs have been proposed to reduce the thickness while not reducing the mechanical strength.

- Patent No. 6388467 (or US Patent No. 1051363)
- Patent Document 1 Although it is possible to give the resin container a bearing force against the load applied from the vertical direction, it is insufficient to give the bearing force against the load applied from the lateral direction. Therefore, for example, when the resin container of Patent Document 1 filled with a beverage product is conveyed using a conveyor, the resin container vibrates due to the load applied in the conveying direction (the lateral direction of the resin container), and this vibration occurs. In some cases, the resin container overturned as a result.
- Patent Document 1 when a plurality of resin containers are packed together and surrounded by a stretchable film, the resin containers in direct contact with the film receive a load due to shrinkage of the film. Sometimes it would bend. Packaging in this manner can be carried out, for example, when resin containers are distributed to retail stores as so-called shrink pack packaging, or when resin containers are loaded on pallets in factories, warehouses, and the like.

That is, the groove portion 43a and the small recessed portion 43b are provided adjacent to each other with substantially no space therebetween, so that the groove portion 43a and the small recessed portion 43b act together as a spring.
- the wavy rib 44 is a rib provided in a shape in which the position in the vertical direction changes continuously along the circumferential direction of the body portion 4, similarly to the cushion portion 43. However, unlike the cushion portion 43, the wavy rib 44 is composed of a single rib. - the vertical position of the cushion is not particularly limited as long as it changes continuously along the circumferential direction of the body.
- the cushion portion is provided in a wavy shape in which high portions and low portions are alternately present in the vertical direction, if the apex portions of the wavy shape are arranged at the corner portions of the body portion, It is preferable because the effect of absorbing the load is easily exhibited.
- the vertex portion of the wavy shape may be a downwardly convex vertex (as in the above embodiment) or an upwardly convex vertex.
- the vertical position of the cushion portion is not particularly limited. Therefore, the position of the cushion may be determined by elements that have little relation to the main function of the cushion itself (for example, the arrangement of linear ribs and appearance design that easily ensure the strength of the entire plastic bottle).
- the boundary portion between the groove portion 43a and the small recess portion 43b may be flush with the outer peripheral surface of the body portion 4.
- the relationship in size between the groove portion 43a, the small concave portion 43b, and the boundary portion thereof is not limited to the above example.
- the depth and width of the groove may or may not be constant for both the groove portion and the small recess.
- the depth of the groove is not constant, a shape in which the depth of the groove changes like a wave is exemplified.
- Example ⁇ As an example, the bottle 1 according to the above embodiment was used. Note that the capacity of the bottle 1 is 2 L as described above.

- the capacity of the bottle 1A according to Comparative Example 1 is also 2L.
- Comparative Example 2 As Comparative Example 2, a bottle 1B (FIG. 5) provided with wavy ribs 44 instead of the cushion portion 43 in the above embodiment was used.
- the configuration of the wavy ribs 44 in Comparative Example 2 is similar to that of the wavy ribs 44 in the above embodiment. That is, the bottle 1B of Comparative Example 2 is provided with two wavy ribs 44 .
- Example and Comparative Example 2 differ in the presence or absence of the cushion portion.
- the capacity of the bottle 1B according to Comparative Example 2 is also 2L.
- Example and Comparative Example 1 As shown in Table 1, the buckling load is lower (buckling is easier) in Comparative Example 2, in which no cushion portion is provided, than in the Example and Comparative Example 1, in which the cushion portion is provided. . In Example and Comparative Example 1, it was found that buckling of the bottle was suppressed by providing the cushion portion.
- Example and Comparative Example 1 were filled with 2 L of water, and a downward load was applied to the central portion of the body 4 in the vertical direction, with the upper and lower ends of the body 4 (surface 4a) supported. (Fig. 6).
- the jaw N1 of the vernier caliper N moves up and down following the vertical movement of the push-pull gauge P, so the amount of movement of the push-pull gauge P can be specified.
- the amount of movement of the push-pull gauge P (reading of the vernier caliper N) when the load (reading of the push-pull gauge P) reached 50 N was taken as the amount of deformation of the bottle.
- the test was performed five times for each of Example and Comparative Example 1, and the average value of the measured values for each time was used as the test result. Table 2 shows the results of each example.
- Comparative Example 1 in which the cushion portion is provided along the horizontal direction, is superior to the Example, in which the cushion portion is provided in a wavy shape.
- a result that is easy to deform was obtained. It was found that by providing a cushion portion whose position in the vertical direction changes along the circumferential direction of the body portion as in the example, strength against loads in both the vertical and horizontal directions can be imparted.
- the present invention can be used, for example, for containers filled with liquid products such as beverages.
