Definitions
- the present invention relates to a saddle type vehicle.
- This application claims priority based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2021-040331 filed in Japan on March 12, 2021, the content of which is incorporated herein.
- a straddle-type vehicle in which a rear fender (mud guard cover) is provided with ribs (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
- the ribs are applied to, for example, the vehicle body frame to reinforce the rear fender.
- the rear fender has the function of suppressing the splashing of muddy water and the like thrown up by the rear wheels.
- the direction of the air flow can be adjusted using the ribs of the rear fender (mudguard cover). That is, it is preferable if the mudguard cover can efficiently suppress the scattering of muddy water and adjust the direction of the air flow.
- one aspect of the present invention is a saddle-ride type vehicle provided with mudguard covers (31) covering wheels (4) from above, wherein the mudguard covers (31) are provided on both sides in the vehicle width direction.
- a pair of side walls (31m) extending in the longitudinal direction, cross rib portions (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4) extending in the vehicle width direction between the pair of side walls (31m), the pair of side walls (31m) and the cross rib
- the pair of side walls (31m) and the cross rib portions (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4) are protruded toward the lower surface (31p), covering the installation region (R1) of the portions (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4) from above.
- a base portion (31k) a base portion (31k);
- the mudguard cover can be reinforced by the pair of side walls and the cross rib portion.
- the installation area of the pair of side walls and the cross rib is covered with the base and the pair of side walls and the cross rib protrude from the lower surface of the base, the following effects are obtained.
- the side wall and the cross rib portion allow the wind blown from the wheel to the rear side of the fender to flow outward in the vehicle width direction. Therefore, it is possible to suppress collision between the wind flowing from the front of the vehicle and the wind blown up by the wheels.
- a gap (61) in the vehicle width direction is provided between each of the pair of side walls (31m) and the vehicle width direction end of the cross rib portion (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4).
- muddy water or the like can be easily discharged to the front of the fender through the gap between the side wall and the cross rib portion. That is, if muddy water or the like falls in the middle of the side wall, the muddy water or the like may splash outside the fender. On the other hand, it is possible to suppress splashing of muddy water to the outside of the fender by making it easier to discharge muddy water after passing it to the front of the fender.
- the space between the pair of side walls (31m) in the vehicle width direction increases toward the front in the vehicle front-rear direction, and the cross rib portions (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4) are arranged in the vehicle front-rear direction.
- a plurality of the cross rib portions (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4) may have a width in the vehicle width direction that is wider toward the front side in the vehicle front-rear direction. According to this configuration, the width of the gap between the pair of side walls, which serves as a flow path for the wind drawn by the wheel, increases toward the front side of the wheel (downstream side in the wheel rotation direction).
- the cross rib portions may extend obliquely downward and forward from the lower surface (31p) of the base portion (31k).
- the thickness of the mudguard cover in the vertical direction can be suppressed, and the influence on the appearance of the vehicle can be suppressed, compared to the case where the cross rib portion extends vertically downward.
- the cross rib portion inclined downward and forward on the upper side of the wheel makes it easier for muddy water and the like adhering to the cross rib portion due to the forward inclination to flow outward in the vehicle width direction, compared to the case where the cross rib portion extends vertically. Therefore, muddy water or the like can be easily sent through the gap between the side wall and the cross rib portion.
- a separate cover (38) that is separate from the base portion (31k) and covers the upper surface (31v) of the base portion (31k) may be provided. According to this configuration, even if a sink occurs on the upper surface of the base portion due to the formation of the side wall, the cross rib portion, etc., the sink can be hidden by the separate cover. Therefore, the appearance of the mudguard cover can be improved.
- electrical components (52, 53) may be supported by at least one of the mudguard cover (31) and the separate cover (38).
- the wire harness leading to the electrical component can be hidden between the mudguard cover and the separate cover. Therefore, it is possible to protect the wire harness and improve the appearance of the mudguard cover.
- the cross rib portions (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4) include plate-like cross rib main bodies (31w1, 31w2, 31w3, 31w4) extending in the vehicle width direction and the cross rib main bodies (31w1, 31w2, 31w3, 31w4). ) to the lower surface (31p) of the base portion (31k).
- the cross rib portion is composed of the plate-like cross rib main body and the support portion, so that the weight of the mudguard cover can be reduced. That is, the weight of the cross rib portion can be reduced as compared with the case where the cross rib portion is in the shape of a solid block.
- the cross rib portion can be configured at a specified angle.
- the pair of side walls (31m) and the cross rib portions (31n1, 31n2, 31n3, 31n4) of the mudguard cover (31) may be provided above the air cleaner (109) having the intake port (109a). good. According to this configuration, it is possible to suppress collision between the wind flowing from the front of the vehicle and the wind blown up by the wheels. In addition, this effect can suppress the influence on the amount of air taken into the air cleaner. In addition, the following effects can be obtained if there is a gap between the side wall of the mudguard cover and the cross rib portion. That is, it is easy to send muddy water to the front of the fender, and it is possible to prevent muddy water from falling halfway down the side wall. Therefore, it is possible to prevent muddy water or the like falling on the way from reaching the intake port of the air cleaner.
- the mudguard cover in a straddle-type vehicle provided with a mudguard cover that covers wheels from above, can be reinforced by the side walls and the cross rib portion.
- the side walls and the cross rib portion can suppress splashing of muddy water, etc., that has been picked up by the wheels.

Abstract
