Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Traktionsbatterie (1) für ein Kraftfahrzeug aufweisend zumindest einen Zellverbund (2) mit einer Mehrzahl von Batteriezellen (3) und ein Batteriegehäuse (5) mit mehreren Gehäusewänden (6a, 6b, 6c, 6d, 6e, 6f), welche einen Gehäuseinnenraum (4) zum Aufnehmen des zumindest einen Zellverbunds (2) umschließen, wobei zumindest ein, einer unfallbedingten Kraft ausgesetztes Batteriegehäuseteil des Batteriegehäuses (5) zumindest eine, nach außen in Richtung einer Umgebung der Traktionsbatterie (1) ragende Ausbuchtung (14) aufweist, welche zum Schutz des zumindest einen Zellverbunds (2) dazu ausgelegt ist, die unfallbedingte Kraft aufzunehmen. Die Erfindung betrifft außerdem ein Kraftfahrzeug.
