Definitions
- the present invention relates to a ball screw raising tap, and particularly relates to a technique for reducing the thrust force for pushing the raising tap when tapping a female screw.
- the thread of the male screw of the biting part bites into the inner peripheral surface of the prepared hole provided in the workpiece and is plastically deformed, while the biting part of the raised tap is inside the prepared hole.
- a thrust force in the forward direction is applied to the raising tap together with the rotational torque from the tapping processing device so as to be screwed.
- the ball screw When tapping a female screw, which is a ball screw having a semicircular valley, using a raised tap in which a male screw consisting of a semicircular thread corresponding to the female screw is formed, the ball screw is processed.
- the dimensions and shape of the female screw are strictly required. Therefore, similarly to the above, in addition to the pressure for plastically deforming the workpiece being applied from the workpiece, the reaction force of the thrust force is applied to the advancing flank surface from the workpiece. In some cases, the wear of the flank surface on the advancing side is promoted, the shape of the tapped ball screw is deformed, and the shape accuracy is lowered.
- the present invention has been made in the background of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to reduce the pressure on the advancing flank surface during the tapping process of the ball screw to suppress a decrease in the shape accuracy of the ball screw. To do.
- the gist of the present invention is to have (a) a complete mountain portion and a bite portion that is continuously provided on the complete mountain portion and has a smaller diameter toward the tip, and the complete mountain portion and the food.
- a male screw having a semicircular cross section is provided at the attachment portion, and by being screwed into a pilot hole provided in the workpiece, the inner peripheral surface of the pilot hole is plastically deformed to form the male screw of the complete mountain portion.
- a ball screw raising tap for forming a corresponding ball screw wherein (b) the thread of the male screw is an advancing side flank surface that becomes an advancing side when screwed into the pilot hole and after the advancing side flank surface. It is provided with a chasing side flank surface on the side, and (c) the pushing depth of the advancing flank surface into the work piece at the bite portion is larger than the pushing depth of the chasing side flank surface into the work piece. Is also formed to be small.
- the thread of the male screw is a leading flank surface which is a forward side when screwed into the pilot hole and a trailing flank surface which is a rear side of the leading flank surface.
- the bite portion is formed so that the pushing depth of the advancing flank surface into the workpiece is smaller than the pushing depth of the chasing flank surface into the workpiece.
- At least a part of the pitch of the thread in the bite portion is such that the thread in the bite portion does not become wider than the ball screw formed in the workpiece. It is made larger than the pitch of the thread in the part. From this, during the tapping process, the pressure from the workpiece applied to the advancing flank surface to plastically deform the workpiece is smaller than that of the chasing flank surface, so that the pressure on the advancing flank surface and the pressure on the advancing flank surface are reduced. Wear of the flank surface on the advancing side is suppressed, and deterioration of the shape accuracy of the ball screw is suppressed. In addition, the durability of the ball screw raising tap and the decrease in tool life are suppressed.
- the pitch of the threads in the bite portion is equal pitch, which is larger than the pitch of the threads in the complete thread portion.
- the pitch of a part of the thread pitches in the bite portion is made larger than the thread pitch in the complete thread portion. From this, the pressure from the work piece applied to the advancing flank surface to plastically deform the work piece is smaller than that of the chasing flank surface, so that the pressure on the advancing flank surface and the pressure on the advancing flank surface during tapping are increased. Wear of the flank surface on the advancing side is suppressed, and deterioration of the shape accuracy of the ball screw is suppressed. In addition, the durability of the ball screw raising tap and the decrease in tool life are suppressed.
- the pitch of the thread in the bite portion is increased toward the tip of the bite portion. From this, during the tapping process, the pressure from the workpiece applied to the advancing flank to plastically deform the workpiece is smaller than the trailing flank surface, so that the pressure on the advancing flank surface and the advancing Wear of the side flank surface is suppressed, and deterioration of the shape accuracy of the ball screw is suppressed. In addition, the durability of the ball screw raising tap and the decrease in tool life are suppressed.
- the thread in the bite portion is formed by bringing the trailing flank surface closer to the advancing flank surface, and the pitch of the screw thread in the bite portion is in the complete thread portion. It is increased with respect to the pitch of the thread.
- the screw thread in the bite portion is formed so that the trailing flank surface approaches the advancing flank surface toward the tip of the bite portion, and the screw in the bite portion.
- the pitch of the mountain is increased toward the tip of the bite portion.

- the pitch Pg of the thread 18 of the bite portion 24 is sequentially set to a pitch Pg1 larger than the pitch Po of the thread 18 of the complete thread portion 26 and a Pg2 larger than the pitch Pg1. It has been enlarged.
- the follow-up flank surface 18b advances in the bite portion 24 toward the tip of the bite portion 24, and the thread 18 is formed by approaching the side flank surface 18a.
- the pitch Pg of the thread 18 of the bite portion 24 is made larger than the pitch Po of the thread of the complete thread portion. From this, during the tapping process, the reaction force Fa from the workpiece 40 applied to the advancing flank surface 18a in order to plastically deform the workpiece is applied to the trailing flank surface 18b from the workpiece 40. - the pitch Pg1 of a part of the pitch Pg of the thread 18 of the bite portion 24 is larger than the pitch Po of the thread of the complete thread portion 26. For this reason, during the tapping process, the pressure from the workpiece 40 applied to the advancing flank surface 18a in order to plastically deform the workpiece 40 is made smaller than that of the trailing flank surface 18b. Therefore, during the tapping process, the reaction force Fa with respect to the advancing flank surface 18a is suppressed, and the durability of the raised tap 10 and the decrease in tool life are suppressed.
- the screw thread 18 provided on the male screw 14 is formed by being screwed into the prepared hole 42 provided on the workpiece 40 from the bite portion 24 side. Further, it can be applied not only to a raised tap for processing a single thread, but also to a raised tap for processing a multi-threaded screw having two or more threads.
- the raised taps 10, 50, 60 of the above-described embodiment preferably have three or more rows at equal intervals around the central axis C so that a plurality of threads 18 are continuous in a direction parallel to the central axis C.
- the protrusions 20 of each row may be provided so as to be continuous in a twisted spiral around the central axis C, or may be provided around the central axis C at unequal intervals. It is possible. Further, if necessary, three or more oil grooves or the like for supplying coolant may be provided in the central axis C direction so as to divide the male screw 14 in the circumferential direction.
