Abstract

緩衝材(1A)は、軸方向において相対する第1端面(ES1)および第2端面(ES2)と複数の接続面(CS)とを外表面として有する外形が柱状のものである。第1端面(ES1)は、外形がN角形(Nは3以上の整数)であり、第2端面(ES2)は、外形がM角形(Mは4以上であってNよりも大きい整数)である。複数の接続面(CS)によって規定される周面のうちの軸方向における途中位置には、(M-N)個の頂点が設けられ、当該頂点からは、第1端面(ES1)の1個の頂点および第2端面(ES2)の2個の頂点にそれぞれ1本の第1稜線(L1)および2本の第2稜線(L2)が設けられ、残る頂点同士が(2×N-M)本の第3稜線(L3)によって結ばれる。これら第1稜線(L1)、第2稜線(L2)および第3稜線(L3)により、複数の接続面(CS)が規定される。

Description

緩衝材、緩衝構造体、靴底および靴
 本発明は、衝撃を緩和する緩衝材、当該緩衝材を複数個備えた緩衝構造体、これら緩衝材または緩衝構造体を備えた靴底、および、当該靴底を備えた靴に関する。
 従来、衝撃を緩和するための各種の緩衝材が知られており、用途に応じて使用されている。たとえば、靴においては、着地時に生じる衝撃を緩和する目的で、靴底に緩衝材が設けられる場合がある。この靴底に設けられる緩衝材としては、一般に樹脂またはゴムが利用される。
 近年においては、靴底に格子構造やウェブ構造を有する部位を設け、材料的にのみならず、構造的に緩衝機能を高めた靴も開発されている。格子構造を有する部位が設けられた靴底を備えた靴としては、たとえば米国特許公開公報第2018/0049514号明細書がある。

 本発明は、各種の用途に使用することが可能な、構造的に緩衝機能が高められた新規な緩衝材、および、当該緩衝材を複数個備えた緩衝構造体を提供することを目的とし、また、これら新規な緩衝材または緩衝構造体を備えた靴底、および、当該靴底を備えた靴を提供することを目的とする。
 本発明に基づく緩衝材は、軸線が延びる方向である軸方向において相対する第1端面および第2端面と、上記第1端面の周縁および上記第2端面の周縁を接続する複数の接続面とを外表面として有する外形が柱状のものである。上記第1端面は、上記軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形がN角形(Nは3以上の整数)であり、上記第2端面は、上記軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形がM角形(Mは4以上であってNよりも大きい整数)である。上記複数の接続面によって規定される周面のうちの上記軸方向における途中位置には、(M-N)個の頂点が設けられている。上記本発明に基づく緩衝材にあっては、上記周面に設けられた(M-N)個の頂点から上記第1端面が有するN個の頂点のうちの1個の頂点に達するように1本の第1稜線が設けられており、上記周面に設けられた(M-N)個の頂点から上記第2端面が有するM個の頂点のうちの周方向において隣り合う2個の頂点に達するように2本の第2稜線が設けられており、上記第1端面が有するN個の頂点のうちの残る頂点から上記第2端面が有するM個の頂点のうちの残る頂点に達するように(2×N-M)本の第3稜線が設けられている。上記第1稜線、上記第2稜線および上記第3稜線に含まれる稜線は、互いに交差することがない。これにより、上記本発明に基づく緩衝材にあっては、上記第1稜線、上記第2稜線および上記第3稜線に含まれる稜線により、上記複数の接続面が規定されている。
 本発明の第1の局面に基づく緩衝構造体は、上述した本発明に基づく緩衝材を複数個備えてなるものである。
 本発明の第2の局面に基づく緩衝構造体は、複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含むものである。上記複数個の緩衝材の各々は、上述した本発明に基づく緩衝材からなる。上記複数個の緩衝材は、互いが有する上記複数の接続面のうち、上記第1稜線および上記第2稜線によって規定される接続面同士が隙間を介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置されている。上記本発明の第2の局面に基づく緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材同士の間に形成された上記隙間の大きさが、略一定である。
 本発明の第3の局面に基づく緩衝構造体は、上述した本発明の第2の局面に基づく緩衝構造体が含む上記緩衝ユニットを複数組備えてなるものである。
 本発明の第4の局面に基づく緩衝構造体は、複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含むものである。上記複数個の緩衝材の各々は、上述した本発明に基づく緩衝材からなる。上記複数個の緩衝材は、互いが有する上記複数の接続面のうち、上記第3稜線のみによって規定される接続面同士が隙間を介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置されている。上記本発明の第4の局面に基づく緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材同士の間に形成された上記隙間の大きさが、略一定である。
 本発明の第5の局面に基づく緩衝構造体は、上述した本発明の第4の局面に基づく緩衝構造体が含む上記緩衝ユニットを複数組備えてなるものである。
 本発明の第1の局面に基づく靴底は、上述した本発明に基づく緩衝材を備えてなるものである。
 本発明の第2の局面に基づく靴底は、上述した本発明の第1ないし第5の局面に基づく緩衝構造体のいずれかを備えてなるものである。
 本発明に基づく靴は、上述した本発明の第1および第2の局面に基づく靴底のいずれかと、上記靴底の上方に設けられたアッパーとを備えてなるものである。
 なお、上述した本発明に基づく緩衝材は、上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面が互いに接続する部分のうちの一部または全部(すなわち、上記1本の第1稜線、上記2本の第2稜線、上記(2×N-M)本の第3稜線および上記複数の頂点のうちの一部または全部)において、厳密な意味において鋭角状または鈍角状あるいは直角状の角部を有している必要はなく、当該部分のうちの一部または全部は、隣接する部分の上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面よりも十分に小さい平面または曲面を介して接続されていてもよい。すなわち、これら部分のうちの一部または全部が、たとえば面取りされていてもよいし、丸みを帯びた形状にて構成されていてもよい。また、上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面のうちの一部または全部は、平面であってもよいし曲面であってもよい。さらには、上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面のうちの一部または全部に凹部や凸部等が設けられていてもよい。
 本発明によれば、各種の用途に使用することが可能な、構造的に緩衝機能が高められた新規な緩衝材、および、当該緩衝材を複数個備えた緩衝構造体を提供することが可能になり、また、これら新規な緩衝材または緩衝構造体を備えた靴底、および、当該靴底を備えた靴を提供することが可能になる。

 以下、本発明の実施の形態について、図を参照して詳細に説明する。なお、以下に示す実施の形態においては、同一のまたは共通する部分について図中同一の符号を付し、その説明は繰り返さない。
 (実施の形態1)
 図1は、実施の形態1に係る緩衝材の斜視図である。図2(A)は、図1中に示す矢印IIA方向から見た緩衝材の平面図である。図2(B)は、図1中に示す矢印IIB方向から見た緩衝材の底面図である。図2(C)は、図1中に示す矢印IIC方向から見た緩衝材の側面図である。以下、これら図1および図2(A)ないし図2(C)を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝材1Aについて説明する。
 図1および図2(A)ないし図2(C)に示すように、緩衝材1Aは、第1端面ES1と、第2端面ES2と、複数の接続面CSとによって外表面が規定された柱状の部材からなる。第1端面ES1および第2端面ES2は、緩衝材1Aの軸線AX1が延びる方向である軸方向において相対しており、複数の接続面CSは、これら第1端面ES1の周縁および第2端面ES2の周縁を接続することで緩衝材1Aの軸線AX1を取り囲む周面を規定している。
 第1端面ES1は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が五角形の平面からなる。第2端面ES2は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が六角形の平面からなる。すなわち、本実施の形態においては、Nが5であり、Mが6である。
 複数の接続面CSは、略三角形の外形を有する1つの曲面と、略四角形の外形を有する3つの曲面と、略五角形の外形を有する2つの曲面との合計で6つの曲面を含んでいる。
 複数の接続面CSによって規定される周面のうちの軸方向における途中位置には、1個の頂点Pが設けられている。当該頂点Pからは、第1端面ES1が有する5個の頂点のうちの1個の頂点に達するように1本の第1稜線L1が延びている。また、当該頂点Pからは、第2端面ES2が有する6個の頂点のうちの周方向において隣り合う2個の頂点に達するように2本の第2稜線L2が延びている。
 第1端面が有する5個の頂点のうち、上述した第1稜線L1に接続する1個の頂点を除く残る4個の頂点からは、第2端面が有する6個の頂点のうち、上述した第2稜線L2に接続する2個の頂点を除く残る4個の頂点に達するように4本の第3稜線L3が延びている。これら1本の第1稜線L1、2本の第2稜線L2および4本の第3稜線L3は、互いに交差することなく延在している。
 これにより、これら1本の第1稜線L1、2本の第2稜線L2および4本の第3稜線L3よって上述した複数の接続面CSが規定されることになる。より詳細には、2本の第1稜線L1と第2端面ES2の一辺とによって囲われた接続面CSが、上述した略三角形の外形を有する1つの曲面に該当することになり、隣り合う2本の第3稜線L3と第1端面ES1の一辺と第2端面ES2の一辺とによって囲われた接続面CSが、上述した略四角形の外形を有する3つの曲面のそれぞれに該当し、1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2の一方とこれらに隣り合う1本の第3稜線L3と第1端面ES1の一辺と第2端面ES2の一辺とによって囲われた接続面CSが、上述した略五角形の外形を有する2つの曲面に該当する。
 ここで、軸方向に沿って見た場合に、一対の端面を異なる数の頂点を有する多角形状の外形とし、これら一対の端面間の途中位置に頂点を設け、一対の端面に含まれる頂点と上記途中位置に設けられた頂点とを互いに交差することがないように最小の数の稜線によって接続したような立体構造の緩衝材であれば、上述のように一対の端面を平面にて構成するのではなく、これらを曲面にて構成してもよいし、上述のように複数の接続面を曲面にて構成するのではなく、これらを平面にて構成してもよい。
 上述した本実施の形態に係る緩衝材1Aは、上述した軸線AX1が延びる軸方向において高い緩衝機能を発揮する。これは、緩衝材1Aの構造的特徴(形状的特徴)によるものである。
 すなわち、上述した軸方向に沿って緩衝材1Aを圧縮する方向に外力が付与された場合には、緩衝材1Aに軸方向に沿った圧縮変形が生じる応力場が発生するのみならず、剪断変形が生じる応力場も発生する。これは、上述し複数の接続面CSがいずれも軸方向と交差する方向に延在しているため、この外形形状に起因して複雑な応力場が発生することによる。換言すれば、緩衝材1Aの変形の主軸が荷重方向(すなわち、緩衝材1Aの軸方向)と異なるため、これが合致する角柱状あるいは円柱状の緩衝材に比べ、剪断変形が格段に発生し易くなる。
 したがって、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなることになり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。そのため、本実施の形態に係る緩衝材1Aとすることにより、高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材を実現することができる。
 緩衝材1Aの材質としては、弾性力に富んだ材料であれば基本的にどのような材料であってもよいが、樹脂またはゴムであることが好ましい。より具体的な材質としては、緩衝材1Aを樹脂製とする場合には、たとえばエチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)、熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)、熱可塑性ポリアミド系エラストマー(TPAE)等の熱可塑性樹脂とすることができる。一方、緩衝材1Aをゴム製とする場合には、たとえばブタジエンゴムとすることができる。
 ここで、緩衝材1Aは、上述した各種材料のフォーム材にて構成されてもよいし、非フォーム材にて構成されてもよい。特に、緩衝材1Aを樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材にて構成することとすれば、容易に高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。
 緩衝材1Aは、ポリマー組成物のフォーム材または非フォーム材にて構成することもできる。その場合にポリマー組成物に含有させるポリマーとしては、たとえばオレフィン系エラストマーやオレフィン系樹脂等のオレフィン系ポリマーが挙げられる。オレフィン系ポリマーとしては、たとえばポリエチレン(たとえば直鎖状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)等)、ポリプロピレン、エチレン-プロピレン共重合体、プロピレン-1-ヘキセン共重合体、プロピレン-4-メチル-1-ペンテン共重合体、プロピレン-1-ブテン共重合体、エチレン-1-ヘキセン共重合体、エチレン-4-メチル-ペンテン共重合体、エチレン-1-ブテン共重合体、1-ブテン-1-ヘキセン共重合体、1-ブテン-4-メチル-ペンテン、エチレン-メタクリル酸共重合体、エチレン-メタクリル酸メチル共重合体、エチレン-メタクリル酸エチル共重合体、エチレン-メタクリル酸ブチル共重合体、エチレン-メチルアクリレート共重合体、エチレン-エチルアクリレート共重合体、エチレン-ブチルアクリレート共重合体、プロピレン-メタクリル酸共重合体、プロピレン-メタクリル酸メチル共重合体、プロピレン-メタクリル酸エチル共重合体、プロピレン-メタクリル酸ブチル共重合体、プロピレン-メチルアクリレート共重合体、プロピレン-エチルアクリレート共重合体、プロピレン-ブチルアクリレート共重合体、エチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)、プロピレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体のポリオレフィン等が挙げられる。
 また、上記ポリマーは、たとえばアミド系エラストマーやアミド系樹脂等のアミド系ポリマーであってもよい。アミド系ポリマーとしては、たとえばポリアミド6、ポリアミド11、ポリアミド12、ポリアミド66、ポリアミド610等が挙げられる。
 また、上記ポリマーは、たとえばエステル系エラストマーやエステル系樹脂等のエステル系ポリマーであってもよい。エステル系ポリマーとしては、たとえばポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレート等が挙げられる。
 また、上記ポリマーは、たとえばウレタン系エラストマーやウレタン系樹脂等のウレタン系ポリマーであってもよい。ウレタン系ポリマーとしては、たとえばポリエステル系ポリウレタン、ポリエーテル系ポリウレタン等が挙げられる。
 また、上記ポリマーは、たとえばスチレン系エラストマーやスチレン系樹脂等のスチレン系ポリマーであってもよい。スチレン系エラストマーとしては、スチレン-エチレン-ブチレン共重合体(SEB)、スチレン-ブタジエン-スチレン共重合体(SBS)、SBSの水素添加物(スチレン-エチレン-ブチレン-スチレン共重合体(SEBS))、スチレン-イソプレン-スチレン共重合体(SIS)、SISの水素添加物(スチレン-エチレン-プロピレン-スチレン共重合体(SEPS))、スチレン-イソブチレン-スチレン共重合体(SIBS)、スチレン-ブタジエン-スチレン-ブタジエン(SBSB)、スチレン-ブタジエン-スチレン-ブタジエン-スチレン(SBSBS)等が挙げられる。スチレン系樹脂としては、たとえばポリスチレン、アクリロニトリルスチレン樹脂(AS)、アクリロニトリルブタジエンスチレン樹脂(ABS)等が挙げられる。
 また、上記ポリマーは、たとえばポリメタクリル酸メチルなどのアクリル系ポリマー、ポリ塩化ビニル系樹脂、シリコーン系エラストマー、ブタジエンゴム(BR)、イソプレンゴム(IR)、クロロプレンゴム(CR)、天然ゴム(NR)、スチレンブタジエンゴム(SBR)、アクリロニトリルブタジエンゴム(NBR)、ブチルゴム(IIR)等であってもよい。
 ここで、緩衝材1Aは、中実状であってもよいし、中空状であってもよい。中実状とした場合には、中空状とした場合に比べ変形能が低下してしまうものの、機械的強度に優れ、耐久性の面において優位となる。中空状とした場合には、中実状とした場合に比べ、機械的強度に劣り、耐久性が低下してしまうものの、高い緩衝機能が発揮されることになる。
 また、本実施の形態においては、第1端面ES1が五角形でありかつ第2端面ES2が六角形である(すなわち、Nが5でありかつMが6である)緩衝材1Aを例示して説明を行なったが、第1端面ES1をN角形(Nは3以上の整数)とし、第2端面ES2をM角形(Mは4以上であってNよりも大きい整数)とすることにより、上述した如くの高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。
 ただし、上記Mについては、これを10以下とすることが好ましく、その場合には、上記Nは、9以下となる。これは、第1端面ES1および第2端面ES2のそれぞれの頂点の数が大きくなり過ぎると、緩衝材の外形が実質的に円柱状に近似されてしまうことになり、上述した剪断場の発生が抑制されてしまうためである。
 なお、上述した緩衝材1Aの製造方法は、特に制限されるものではないが、緩衝材1Aは、たとえば金型を用いた射出成形や、三次元造形装置を用いた造形、金型を用いた熱成形(プレス成形)、切削による造形等によって製造することが可能である。
 ここで、緩衝材の具体的な設計に際しては、第1端面ES1の頂点の数や位置等、第2端面ES2の頂点の数や位置等、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間に設けられる頂点Pの数や位置等、これら頂点を接続する第1ないし第3稜線L1~L3の位置や傾き、曲率等を種々変更することにより、発揮される緩衝性能に変化が生じることになるため、これらを最適化することにより、所望の緩衝機能を発揮する緩衝材とすればよい。
 (第1ないし第3変形例)
 以下においては、上述した緩衝材の具体的な設計に際して、緩衝性能を高める上で特に有効なファクターとなる構造的特徴について説明する。以下に示す第1ないし第3変形例に係る緩衝材1B~1Dは、上述した本実施の形態に係る緩衝材1Aを基本とし、これに各種の構造的な(形状的な)変更を加えたものである。
 図3は、第1変形例に係る緩衝材の斜視図である。図4(A)は、図3中に示す矢印IVA方向から見た緩衝材の平面図である。図4(B)は、図3中に示す矢印IVB方向から見た緩衝材の底面図である。図4(C)は、図3中に示す矢印IVC方向から見た緩衝材の側面図である。
 図3および図4(A)ないし図4(C)に示すように、第1変形例に係る緩衝材1Bは、上述した緩衝材1Aに比較して、頂点Pの位置を変えずに第1端面ES1の面積を小さくしたものである。この場合、上述した緩衝材1Aに比較して、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなり、緩衝材1Bは、第1端面ES1側に向かうにつれて断面積が小さくなる先細りの形状を有することになる。
 このような緩衝材1Bとした場合には、上述した緩衝材1Aよりも、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなることに伴い、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易くなる。そのため、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。したがって、本変形例に係る緩衝材1Bとすることにより、緩衝材1Aに比較して、より高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。すなわち、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との面積差を大きくすれば、緩衝機能を高めることが可能になる。
 図5は、第2変形例に係る緩衝材の斜視図である。図6(A)は、図5中に示す矢印VIA方向から見た緩衝材の平面図である。図6(B)は、図5中に示す矢印VIB方向から見た緩衝材の底面図である。図6(C)は、図5中に示す矢印VIC方向から見た緩衝材の側面図である。
 図5および図6(A)ないし図6(C)に示すように、第2変形例に係る緩衝材1Cは、上述した緩衝材1Aに比較して、頂点Pの位置を変えずに第1端面ES1の位置を頂点Pから遠ざける方向に移動させたものである。この場合、上述した緩衝材1Aに比較して、第1稜線L1の傾きが大きくなり、緩衝材1Cは、全体として一方向に傾倒した形状を有することになる。
 このような緩衝材1Cとした場合には、上述した緩衝材1Aよりも、第1稜線L1の傾きが大きくなることに伴い、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易くなる。そのため、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。したがって、本変形例に係る緩衝材1Cとすることにより、緩衝材1Aに比較して、より高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。すなわち、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2とを軸方向と交差する方向において偏在させることにより、緩衝機能を高めることが可能になる。

 図7および図8(A)ないし図8(C)に示すように、第3変形例に係る緩衝材1Dは、上述した緩衝材1Aに比較して、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3を軸線AX1周りに同じ方向に向けて傾倒させたものである。この場合、上述した緩衝材1Aに比較して、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなり、緩衝材1Dは、全体として捩れた形状を有することになる。
 このような緩衝材1Dとした場合には、上述した緩衝材1Aよりも、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなることに伴い、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易くなる。そのため、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。したがって、本変形例に係る緩衝材1Dとすることにより、緩衝材1Aに比較して、より高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。すなわち、緩衝材1Dに捩りを加えることにより、緩衝機能を高めることが可能になる。
 ここで、本実施の形態においては、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3のすべてを軸線AX1周りに同じ方向に向けて傾倒させた場合を例示して説明を行なったが、これらのすべてを必ずしも傾倒させる必要はなく、一部のみを傾倒させても相当程度の効果を得ることができる。
 なお、この他にも、緩衝材の軸方向の外形寸法を大きくすることにより、緩衝機能を高めることができる。その場合のアスペクト比としては、緩衝材の軸方向の最大外形寸法をLVとし、緩衝材の軸方向と直交する方向の最大外形寸法をLHとした場合に、LV/LHが、0.2以上2.0以下であることが好ましい。ここで、緩衝材の剛性は、軸方向と直交する方向の断面積に比例しかつ軸方向の外形寸法に反比例するため、特に、LV/LHを1.0より大きく2.0以下とすれば、緩衝材が全体として縦長形状を有することになり、安定性を確保しつつ緩衝機能を高めることができる。
 また、緩衝材に設ける第1稜線を緩衝材の中央部側に向けて凹む湾曲形状としたり、緩衝材に設ける第2稜線を緩衝材の外側に向けて突出する湾曲形状としたりすることにより、緩衝機能を高めることも可能である。
 (実施の形態2)
 図9は、実施の形態2に係る緩衝構造体の一部破断斜視図である。以下、この図9を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Aについて説明する。
 図9に示すように、緩衝構造体10Aは、上述した実施の形態1に係る緩衝材1Aを複数個備えてなるものである。より具体的には、緩衝構造体10Aは、薄板状の支持部材11と、当該支持部材11上に配置された複数個の緩衝材1Aとを具備している。
 支持部材11は、複数個の緩衝材1Aを支持することでこれら複数個の緩衝材1Aを一体化させるものである。複数個の緩衝材1Aは、たとえば接着や溶着等により、支持部材11に接合されている。複数個の緩衝材1Aは、たとえば所定のルールに従って規則的に(図示する例では千鳥状に)支持部材11上に配列される。
 ここで、支持部材11は、緩衝材1Aと同じ材質のものとしてもよいし、異なる材質のものとしてもよい。また、支持部材11は、可撓性を有していてもよいし、容易には変形しないものであってもよい。
 このような緩衝構造体10Aとすることにより、より広範囲にわたって高い緩衝機能を発揮させることが可能になる。また、複数個の緩衝材1Aを支持部材11によって一体化させることにより、その取り扱いが容易になるばかりでなく、緩衝材1Aの位置ずれも防止できることになり、設置がし易くかつ所望の緩衝性能を確実に得ることができる緩衝構造体とすることができる。
 なお、本実施の形態においては、複数個の緩衝材を単体の支持部材上に配置する構成とした場合を例示して説明を行なったが、複数個の緩衝材を一対の支持部材によって挟み込むように構成してもよい。また、支持部材のうちの緩衝材が配置されていない領域に必要に応じて開口部を設けることとしてもよい。
 さらには、複数個の緩衝材とは別部材からなる支持部材によってこれらを一体化するのではなく、複数個の緩衝材の軸方向の端部同士が相互に連結部によって連結された構成となるように、複数個の緩衝材と一体的に当該連結部を設けてもよい。このような構成は、たとえば金型を用いた射出成形や三次元造形装置を用いた造形、金型を用いた熱成形(プレス成形)、切削による造形等によって実現することができる。
 (実施の形態3)
 図10は、実施の形態3に係る緩衝構造体の一部破断側面図である。以下、この図10を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Bについて説明する。
 図10に示すように、緩衝構造体10Bは、上述した実施の形態2に係る緩衝構造体10Aを複数備えてなるものである。より具体的には、緩衝構造体10Bは、薄板状の支持部材11および複数個の緩衝材1Aからなる緩衝構造体10Aが、多段に積層されてなるものである。
 ここで、積層されることで互いに接触する緩衝構造体10A同士は、接着や溶着によって接合されていてもよいし、接合されることなく単に積み上げられていてもよい。しかしながら、これらを互いに接合することとすれば、その取り扱いが容易になるばかりでなく、緩衝構造体10A同士の位置ずれも防止できることになる。
 上述したように、緩衝材1A自体は、その軸方向の外形寸法を大きくすることにより、緩衝機能を高めることが可能である。しかしながら、この軸方向の外形寸法を極端に大きくした場合には、安定性の面や耐久性の面で劣ることとなってしまう。
 その点、本実施の形態のように、薄板状の支持部材11および複数個の緩衝材1Aからなる緩衝構造体10Aを積層した緩衝構造体10Bとすることにより、安定性や耐久性を高めつつ、緩衝機能がより高められた緩衝構造体とすることができる。
 (実施の形態4)
 図11は、実施の形態4に係る緩衝構造体の斜視図である。図12(A)は、図11中に示す矢印XIIA方向から見た緩衝構造体の平面図である。図12(B)は、図11中に示す矢印XIIB方向から見た緩衝構造体の底面図である。図12(C)は、図11中に示す矢印XIIC方向から見た緩衝構造体の側面図である。また、図13は、図11に示す緩衝構造体の分解斜視図である。図14(A)は、図12(C)中に示す緩衝構造体のXIVA-XIVA線に沿った模式断面図である。図14(B)は、図12(C)中に示す緩衝構造体のXIVB-XIVB線に沿った模式断面図である。以下、これら図11、図12(A)ないし図12(C)、図13、図14(A)および図14(B)を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Cについて説明する。
 図11、図12(A)ないし図12(C)、図13、図14(A)および図14(B)に示すように、緩衝構造体10Cは、複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含んでいる。本実施の形態においては、2個の第1緩衝材1E1,1E2と2個の第2緩衝材1F1,1F2とを含む合計で4個の緩衝材によって緩衝ユニットが構成されている。
 第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々は、上述したMおよびNの数は相違するものの、基本的には上述した実施の形態1に係る緩衝材1Aに準じた構成のものである。
 より詳細には、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2の各々は、第1端面ES1と、第2端面ES2と、複数の接続面CSとによって外表面が規定された柱状の部材からなる。第1端面ES1は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が五角形の平面からなる。第2端面ES2は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が六角形の平面からなる。すなわち、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2においては、Nが5であり、Mが6である。
 第1緩衝材1E1,1E2の各々の第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間の途中位置には、頂点Pが設けられており、これにより第1緩衝材1E1,1E2の各々は、1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と4本の第3稜線L3とを有している。また、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2の各々は、これら1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と4本の第3稜線L3とによって規定された合計で6つの接続面CSを有している。
 第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々は、第1端面ES1と、第2端面ES2と、複数の接続面CSとによって外表面が規定された柱状の部材からなる。第1端面ES1は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が四角形の平面からなる。第2端面ES2は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が五角形の平面からなる。すなわち、第2緩衝材1F1,1F2においては、Nが4であり、Mが5である。
 第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々の第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間の途中位置には、頂点Pが設けられており、これにより第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々は、1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と3本の第3稜線L3とを有している。また、第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々は、これら1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と3本の第3稜線L3とによって規定された合計で5つの接続面CSを有している。
 第1緩衝材1E1,1E2と第2緩衝材1F1,1F2とは、緩衝ユニットの周方向に沿って交互に配置されている。これにより、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2は、組み合わされた状態において緩衝ユニットの軸線AX2を取り囲むように並んで配置されている。
 ここで、軸方向に沿った第1緩衝材1E1,1E2の各々の向きは、軸方向に沿った第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々の向きと逆である。すなわち、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2の各々の第1端面ES1と、第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々の第2端面ES2とが、同一平面上に位置しており、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2の各々の第2端面ES2と、第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々の第1端面ES1とが、同一平面上に位置している。
 また、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2は、互いが有する複数の接続面CSのうち、第1稜線L1および第2稜線L2によって規定される接続面同士が隙間Gを介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置されている。これにより、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々の頂点Pも、互いに向き合っている。
 本実施の形態においては、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々の外形が、上述した隙間Gを形成しつつも相互に嵌まり合うように構成されており、さらには、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2同士の間に形成される上述した隙間Gの大きさが、いずれの位置においても略一定となるように構成されている。
 このように構成することにより、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2を相互に組み合わせた状態においては、緩衝ユニット(すなわち、緩衝構造体10C)は、その全体としての外形が、略六角柱状となる。
 本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Cは、緩衝ユニットの軸線AX2が延びる軸方向において高い緩衝機能を発揮するとともに、当該軸線AX2と直交する方向において、複数個の緩衝材を高密充填した状態で配置することができる。これらは、いずれも緩衝構造体10Cの構造的特徴(形状的特徴)によるものである。
 すなわち、複数個の緩衝材である第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々は、上述した実施の形態1において説明したように、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易い形状を有しており、その分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これにより軽量で高い緩衝機能を発揮する緩衝構造体とすることができる。
 一方で、第1緩衝材1E1,1E2および第2緩衝材1F1,1F2の各々は、上述した隙間Gが十分に小さく設定されることにより、互いに接近して配置された状態となるため、上述した如くの高密充填が可能になり、占有体積を小さくすることが可能となって小型化に寄与することになる。なお、当該隙間Gの大きさは、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、当該緩衝ユニットを後述する実施の形態14ないし17において示す如くの靴底およびこれを備えた靴に適用する場合には、好適には2mm程度とされる。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Cとすることにより、上述した実施の形態2および3に係る緩衝構造体10A,10Bとする場合よりも、高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝構造体をより小型に構成することが可能になる。
 (実施の形態5)
 図15は、実施の形態5に係る緩衝構造体の斜視図である。図16(A)は、図15中に示す矢印XVIA方向から見た緩衝構造体の平面図である。図16(B)は、図15中に示す矢印XVIB方向から見た緩衝構造体の底面図である。図16(C)は、図15中に示す矢印XVIC方向から見た緩衝構造体の側面図である。また、図17は、図15に示す緩衝構造体の分解斜視図である。図18(A)は、図16(C)中に示す緩衝構造体のXVIIIA-XVIIIA線に沿った模式断面図である。図18(B)は、図16(C)中に示す緩衝構造体のXVIIIB-XVIIIB線に沿った模式断面図である。以下、これら図15、図16(A)ないし図16(C)、図17、図18(A)および図18(B)を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Dについて説明する。
 図15、図16(A)ないし図16(C)、図17、図18(A)および図18(B)に示すように、緩衝構造体10Dは、上述した実施の形態4に係る緩衝構造体10Cに比較して、複数個の第1緩衝材1G1,1G2の各々および複数個の第2緩衝材1H1,1H2の各々が有する第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3を緩衝ユニットの軸線AX2周りに同じ方向に向けて傾倒させたものである。この場合、上述した実施の形態4に係る緩衝構造体10Cに比較して、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなり、緩衝ユニット(すなわち、緩衝構造体10D)は、全体として捩れた形状を有することになる。
 このような緩衝構造体10Dとした場合には、上述した実施の形態4に係る緩衝構造体10Cよりも、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなることに伴い、緩衝ユニットの軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易くなる。そのため、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。したがって、本変形例に係る緩衝構造体10Dとすることにより、上述した実施の形態4に係る緩衝構造体10Cに比較して、より高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。すなわち、緩衝ユニット(すなわち、緩衝構造体10D)に捩りを加えることにより、緩衝機能を高めることが可能になる。
 なお、本実施の形態においては、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3のすべてを軸線AX1周りに同じ方向に向けて傾倒させた場合を例示して説明を行なったが、これらのすべてを必ずしも傾倒させる必要はなく、一部のみを傾倒させても相当程度の効果を得ることができる。
 (実施の形態6)
 図19は、実施の形態6に係る緩衝構造体の一部破断斜視図である。以下、この図19を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Eについて説明する。
 図19に示すように、緩衝構造体10Eは、上述した実施の形態4に係る緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Cを複数組備えてなるものである。より具体的には、緩衝構造体10Eは、薄板状の支持部材11と、当該支持部材11上に配置された複数組の緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Cとを具備している。
 支持部材11は、複数組の緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Cを支持することでこれら複数組の緩衝材ユニットを一体化させるものである。複数組の緩衝ユニットの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材は、たとえば接着や溶着等により、支持部材11に接合されている。当該複数組の緩衝ユニットは、たとえば所定のルールに従って規則的に(図示する例では千鳥状に)支持部材11上に配列される。
 ここで、支持部材11は、緩衝材と同じ材質のものとしてもよいし、異なる材質のものとしてもよい。また、支持部材11は、可撓性を有していてもよいし、容易には変形しないものであってもよい。
 このような緩衝構造体10Eとすることにより、より広範囲にわたって高い緩衝機能を発揮させることが可能になる。また、複数組の緩衝ユニットを支持部材11によって一体化させることにより、その取り扱いが容易になるばかりでなく、緩衝ユニットの位置ずれも防止できることになり、設置がし易くかつ所望の緩衝性能を確実に得ることができる緩衝構造体とすることができる。
 なお、本実施の形態においては、複数組の緩衝ユニットを単体の支持部材上に配置する構成とした場合を例示して説明を行なったが、複数組の緩衝ユニットを一対の支持部材によって挟み込むように構成してもよい。また、支持部材のうちの緩衝ユニットが配置されていない領域に必要に応じて開口部を設けることとしてもよい。
 さらには、複数組の緩衝ユニットの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材とは別部材からなる支持部材によってこれらを一体化するのではなく、複数組の緩衝ユニットの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材の軸方向の端部同士が相互に連結部によって連結された構成となるように、これら複数個の緩衝材と一体的に当該連結部を設けてもよい。このような構成は、たとえば金型を用いた射出成形や三次元造形装置を用いた造形、金型を用いた熱成形(プレス成形)、切削による造形等によって実現することができる。
 (実施の形態7)
 図20は、実施の形態7に係る緩衝構造体の一部破断斜視図である。以下、この図20を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Fについて説明する。
 図20に示すように、緩衝構造体10Fは、上述した実施の形態6に係る緩衝構造体10Eと比較した場合に、支持部材11上に配置される緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Cの配列が相違している。より具体的には、緩衝構造体10Fにおいては、緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Cが高密充填化されるように、個々の緩衝ユニットが互いに接近して配置されることでハニカム構造を有するように構成されている。
 ここで、隣り合う緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10C同士の間の隙間は、個々の緩衝ユニットが有する上述した隙間Gと同程度とすることができる。したがって、このように緩衝ユニット配置することにより、極めて高い充填率で緩衝ユニットを配置することが可能になり、占有体積を小さくすることが可能となって小型化に寄与することになる。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Fとすることにより、上述した実施の形態6に係る緩衝構造体10Cとする場合よりも、高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝構造体をより小型に構成することが可能になる。
 (実施の形態8)
 図21は、実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体の斜視図である。図22(A)は、図21中に示す矢印XXIIA方向から見た緩衝構造体の平面図である。図22(B)は、図21中に示す矢印XXIIB方向から見た緩衝構造体の底面図である。図22(C)は、図21中に示す矢印XXIIC方向から見た緩衝構造体の側面図である。また、図23は、図21に示す緩衝構造体の分解斜視図である。図24(A)は、図22(C)中に示す緩衝構造体のXXIVA-XXIVA線に沿った模式断面図である。図24(B)は、図22(C)中に示す緩衝構造体のXXIVB-XXIVB線に沿った模式断面図である。以下、これら図21、図22(A)ないし図22(C)、図23、図24(A)および図24(B)を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Gについて説明する。
 図21、図22(A)ないし図22(C)、図23、図24(A)および図24(B)に示すように、緩衝構造体10Gは、複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含んでいる。本実施の形態においては、3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3によって緩衝ユニットが構成されている。
 緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々は、上述したMおよびNの数は相違するものの、基本的には上述した実施の形態1に係る緩衝材1Aに準じた構成のものである。
 より詳細には、緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々は、第1端面ES1と、第2端面ES2と、複数の接続面CSとによって外表面が規定された柱状の部材からなる。第1端面ES1は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が四角形の平面からなる。第2端面ES2は、軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形が五角形の平面からなる。すなわち、緩衝材1I1~1I3においては、Nが4であり、Mが5である。
 緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間の途中位置には、頂点Pが設けられており、これにより緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々は、1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と3本の第3稜線L3とを有している。また、緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々は、これら1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と3本の第3稜線L3とによって規定された合計で5つの接続面CSを有している。
 緩衝材1I1~1I3は、緩衝ユニットの周方向に沿って配置されている。これにより、緩衝材1I1~1I3は、組み合わされた状態において緩衝ユニットの軸線AX2を取り囲むように並んで配置されている。
 ここで、軸方向に沿った緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の向きは、互いに同じ向きである。すなわち、緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の第1端面ES1は、同一平面上に位置しており、緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の第2端面ES2は、同一平面上に位置している。
 また、緩衝材1I1~1I3は、互いが有する複数の接続面CSのうち、第3稜線L3のみによって規定される接続面同士が隙間Gを介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置されている。これにより、緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の頂点Pは、緩衝ユニットの周面に沿って位置することになる。
 本実施の形態においては、緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の外形が、上述した隙間Gを形成して相互に対向するように構成されており、さらには、緩衝材1I1~1I3同士の間に形成される上述した隙間Gの大きさが、いずれの位置においても略一定となるように構成されている。
 このように構成することにより、緩衝材1I1~1I3を相互に組み合わせた状態においては、緩衝ユニット(すなわち、緩衝構造体10G)は、全体として、当該緩衝ユニットの軸方向に位置する一対の面がいずれもおおよそ六角形である略柱状の外形を有することになる。
 本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Gは、緩衝ユニットの軸線AX2が延びる軸方向において高い緩衝機能を発揮するとともに、当該軸線AX2と直交する方向において、複数個の緩衝材を高密充填した状態で配置することができる。これらは、いずれも緩衝構造体10Gの構造的特徴(形状的特徴)によるものである。
 すなわち、複数個の1I1~1I3の各々は、上述した実施の形態1において説明したように、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易い形状を有しており、その分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これにより軽量で高い緩衝機能を発揮する緩衝構造体とすることができる。
 一方で、緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々は、上述した隙間Gが十分に小さく設定されることにより、互いに接近して配置された状態となるため、上述した如くの高密充填が可能になり、占有体積を小さくすることが可能となって小型化に寄与することになる。なお、当該隙間Gの大きさは、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、当該緩衝ユニットを後述する実施の形態18および19において示す如くの靴底およびこれを備えた靴に適用する場合には、好適には2mm程度とされる。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Gとすることにより、上述した実施の形態2および3に係る緩衝構造体10A,10Bとする場合よりも、高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝構造体をより小型に構成することが可能になる。
 なお、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Gは、組み合わされる複数個の緩衝材1I1~1I3の互いに対向配置される接続面CS同士が、いずれも単一の平面形状に構成されている。このように構成することにより、金型を用いた成形によって緩衝構造体を製造する場合にはアンダーカットが発生することが防止できる。そのため、これら接続面同士が複数の平面および曲面によって構成された上述した実施の形態4に係る緩衝構造体10Cに比べて、金型を用いた成形を行なう場合に、より容易に製造することができることにもなる。
 (第4ないし第6変形例)
 以下においては、上述した実施の形態8に基づいた第4ないし第6変形例に係る緩衝構造体について説明する。図25ないし図27は、それぞれ当該第4ないし第6変形例に係る緩衝構造体の斜視図である。なお、これら第4ないし第6変形例に係る緩衝構造体10G1~10G3は、いずれも上述した3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3を相互に接続する支持部材をさらに設けたものである。
 図25に示すように、第4変形例に係る緩衝構造体10G1は、緩衝ユニットを構成する3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3に加えて、これら3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の第1端面ES1に跨がってこれら第1端面ES1を覆う平面視六角形の薄板状の支持部材11を具備している。一方で、3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の第2端面ES2は、いずれも露出した状態にある。
 図27に示すように、第6変形例に係る緩衝構造体10G3は、緩衝ユニットを構成する3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3に加えて、これら3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の第1端面ES1に跨がってこれら第1端面ES1を覆う平面視六角形の薄板状の支持部材11aと、これら3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3の各々の第2端面ES2に跨がってこれら第2端面ES2を覆う平面視六角形の薄板状の支持部材11bとを具備している。
 このような緩衝構造体10G1~10G3のいずれかとすることにより、3個の緩衝材1I1~1I3が支持部材11または支持部材11a,11bによって一体化されることでその取り扱いが容易になるばかりでなく、緩衝材1I1~1I3の位置ずれも防止できることになる。したがって、当該構成を採用することにより、設置がし易くかつ所望の緩衝性能を確実に得ることができる緩衝構造体とすることができる。
 なお、複数個の緩衝材とは別部材からなる支持部材によってこれらを一体化するのではなく、複数個の緩衝材の軸方向の端部同士が相互に連結部によって連結された構成となるように、複数個の緩衝材と一体的に当該連結部を設けてもよい。このような構成は、たとえば金型を用いた射出成形や三次元造形装置を用いた造形、金型を用いた熱成形(プレス成形)、切削による造形等によって実現することができる。
 (実施の形態9ないし11)
 以下においては、上述した実施の形態8およびその変形例に係る緩衝構造体の具体的な設計に際して、緩衝性能を高める上で特に有効なファクターとなる構造的特徴について説明する。
 図28は、実施の形態9に係る緩衝構造体の斜視図である。本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Hは、3個の緩衝材1J1~1J3のみからなるものであり、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gに構造的な(形状的な)変更を加えたものである。
 図28に示すように、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Hは、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、第1端面ES1の総面積を小さくしたものである。具体的には、緩衝構造体10Hに含まれる個々の緩衝材1J1~1J3は、上述した緩衝構造体10Gに含まれる個々の緩衝材1I1~1I3に比較して、頂点Pの位置を変えずに相似形に第1端面ES1の面積を小さくしたものである。この場合、上述した緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、緩衝構造体10Hに含まれる個々の緩衝材1J1~1J3のうちの当該緩衝構造体10Hの周面に位置する第3稜線L3の傾きと第1稜線L1の傾きとが大きくなり、緩衝構造体10Hは、全体として、第1端面ES1側に向かうにつれて断面積が小さくなる先細りの形状を有することになる。
 このような緩衝構造体10Hとした場合には、上述した緩衝構造体10Gよりも、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなることに伴い、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易くなる。そのため、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。したがって、このように構成することにより、緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、より高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。すなわち、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との面積差を大きくすれば、緩衝機能を高めることが可能になる。
 図29は、実施の形態10に係る緩衝構造体の斜視図である。本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Iは、3個の緩衝材1K1~1K3のみからなるものであり、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gに構造的な(形状的な)変更を加えたものである。
 図29に示すように、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Iは、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、第1端面ES1の総面積を小さくしたものである。具体的には、緩衝構造体10Iに含まれる個々の緩衝材1K1~1K3は、上述した緩衝構造体10Gに含まれる個々の緩衝材1I1~1I3に比較して、頂点Pおよび第1稜線L1の位置を変えずに第1端面ES1の面積を小さくしたものである。この場合、上述した緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、緩衝構造体10Iに含まれる個々の緩衝材1K1~1K3のうちの当該緩衝構造体10Iの周面に位置する第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなり、緩衝構造体10Iは、全体として、第1端面ES1側に向かうにつれて断面積が小さくなる先細りの形状を有することになる。
 このような緩衝構造体10Iとした場合には、上述した緩衝構造体10Gよりも、第1稜線L1および第3稜線L3の傾きが大きくなることに伴い、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易くなる。そのため、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。したがって、このように構成することにより、緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、より高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。すなわち、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との面積差を大きくすれば、緩衝機能を高めることが可能になる。
 なお、本実施の形態においては、緩衝構造体10Iの軸方向に位置する一対の面のうちの第1端面ES1を含む方の面の外形がおおよそ三角形となるように構成した場合を例示したが、緩衝構造体10Iに含まれる個々の緩衝材1K1~1K3のうちの当該緩衝構造体10Iの周面に位置する第3稜線L3の傾きをさらに大きくして、上記面の外形が、各辺の中央部が内側に凹んだ略三角形状としてもよい。
 図30は、実施の形態11に係る緩衝構造体の斜視図である。本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Jは、3個の緩衝材1L1~1L3と、これを挟み込むように位置する一対の支持部材11a,11bとを含むものであり、上述した第6変形例に係る緩衝構造体10G3に構造的な(形状的な)変更を加えたものである。
 図30に示すように、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Jは、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、隙間Gの幅を大きくしたものである。具体的には、緩衝構造体10Jに含まれる個々の緩衝材1L1~1L3は、上述した緩衝構造体10Gに含まれる個々の緩衝材1I1~1I3に比較して、頂点Pおよび第1稜線L1の位置を変えずに複数の接続面CSのうちの第3稜線L3に隣接する接続面の幅を小さくしたものである。この場合、上述した緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、緩衝構造体10Jに含まれる個々の緩衝材1L1~1L3の当該緩衝構造体10Jの軸線AX2と直交する断面積が総じて小さくなる。
 このような緩衝構造体10Jとした場合には、上述した緩衝構造体10Gよりも、個々の緩衝材1L1~1L3の上記断面積が小さくなることに伴い、軸方向に沿って荷重を受けた場合に剪断変形がより発生し易くなる。そのため、剪断変形がより発生し易くなる分だけ体積当たりの変形量が大きくなり、これに伴って高い変形能を有することになる。したがって、このように構成することにより、緩衝構造体10Gに比較して、より高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝材とすることができる。すなわち、個々の緩衝材の上記断面積を小さくすれば、緩衝機能を高めることが可能になる。
 なお、この他にも、緩衝構造体に含まれる複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する第1稜線を緩衝構造体の軸線周りに傾倒させたり、当該複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する第3稜線のうちの緩衝構造体の周面上に位置するものを緩衝構造体の軸線周りに傾倒させたり、当該複数個の緩衝材を全体として一方向に向けて傾けたり、当該複数個の緩衝材の軸方向の外形寸法を大きくしたり、当該複数個の緩衝材の第1稜線を当該緩衝材の中央部側に向けて凹む湾曲形状としたり、当該複数個の緩衝材の第2稜線を当該緩衝材の外側に向けて突出する湾曲形状としたりすることによっても、緩衝機能を高めることができる。
 ここで、緩衝構造体に含まれる複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する第1稜線、および、当該複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する第3稜線のうちの緩衝構造体の周面上に位置するものを、緩衝構造体の軸線周りに傾倒させる場合には、これらのすべてを傾倒させることとしてもよいし、そのうちの一部のみを傾倒させることとしてもよい。なお、これらのうちの複数を傾倒させる場合には、それらを緩衝ユニットの軸線周りに同じ方向に向けて傾倒させることとすれば、より高い緩衝機能が発揮されるようになる。
 (実施の形態12)
 図31は、実施の形態12に係る緩衝構造体の一部破断斜視図である。以下、この図31を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Kについて説明する。
 図31に示すように、緩衝構造体10Kは、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Gを複数組備えてなるものである。より具体的には、緩衝構造体10Kは、薄板状の支持部材11と、当該支持部材11上に配置された複数組の緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Gとを具備している。
 支持部材11は、複数組の緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Gを支持することでこれら複数組の緩衝材ユニットを一体化させるものである。複数組の緩衝ユニットの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材は、たとえば接着や溶着等により、支持部材11に接合されている。当該複数組の緩衝ユニットは、たとえば所定のルールに従って規則的に(図示する例では千鳥状に)支持部材11上に配列される。
 ここで、支持部材11は、緩衝材と同じ材質のものとしてもよいし、異なる材質のものとしてもよい。また、支持部材11は、可撓性を有していてもよいし、容易には変形しないものであってもよい。
 このような緩衝構造体10Kとすることにより、より広範囲にわたって高い緩衝機能を発揮させることが可能になる。また、複数組の緩衝ユニットを支持部材11によって一体化させることにより、その取り扱いが容易になるばかりでなく、緩衝ユニットの位置ずれも防止できることになり、設置がし易くかつ所望の緩衝性能を確実に得ることができる緩衝構造体とすることができる。
 なお、本実施の形態においては、複数組の緩衝ユニットを単体の支持部材上に配置する構成とした場合を例示して説明を行なったが、複数組の緩衝ユニットを一対の支持部材によって挟み込むように構成してもよい。また、支持部材のうちの緩衝ユニットが配置されていない領域に必要に応じて開口部を設けることとしてもよい。
 さらには、複数組の緩衝ユニットの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材とは別部材からなる支持部材によってこれらを一体化するのではなく、複数組の緩衝ユニットの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材の軸方向の端部同士が相互に連結部によって連結された構成となるように、これら複数個の緩衝材と一体的に当該連結部を設けてもよい。このような構成は、たとえば金型を用いた射出成形や三次元造形装置を用いた造形、金型を用いた熱成形(プレス成形)、切削による造形等によって実現することができる。
 (実施の形態13)
 図32は、実施の形態13に係る緩衝構造体の一部破断斜視図である。以下、この図32を参照して、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Lについて説明する。
 図32に示すように、緩衝構造体10Lは、上述した実施の形態12に係る緩衝構造体10Kと比較した場合に、支持部材11上に配置される緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Gの配列が相違している。より具体的には、緩衝構造体10Lにおいては、緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体10Gが高密充填化されるように、個々の緩衝ユニットが互いに接近して配置されることでその支持部材11側の面においてハニカム構造を有するように構成されている。
 このように緩衝ユニット配置することにより、極めて高い充填率で緩衝ユニットを配置することが可能になり、占有体積を小さくすることが可能となって小型化に寄与することになる。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る緩衝構造体10Lとすることにより、上述した実施の形態12に係る緩衝構造体10Kとする場合よりも、高い緩衝機能を発揮する軽量の緩衝構造体をより小型に構成することが可能になる。
 (実施の形態14)
 図33は、実施の形態14に係る靴底およびこれを備えた靴の斜視図である。図34は、図33に示す靴底の平面図である。以下、これら図33および図34を参照して、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Aおよびこれを備えた靴100Aについて説明する。なお、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Aは、上述した実施の形態5に係る緩衝構造体10Dを複数組備えてなるものである。
 図33に示すように、靴100Aは、靴底110Aと、アッパー120とを備えている。靴底110Aは、足の足裏を覆う部材であり、略偏平な形状を有している。アッパー120は、挿入された足の全体を包み込む袋状の形状を有しており、靴底110Aの上方に位置している。
 アッパー120は、アッパー本体121と、シュータン122と、シューレース123とを有している。アッパー本体121は、上述したように袋状の形状を有しており、シュータン122およびシューレース123は、いずれもこのアッパー本体121に固定または取り付けられている。
 アッパー本体121の下部には、靴底110Aに固定される底部が位置しており、アッパー本体121の上部には、足首の上部と足の甲の一部とを露出させる開口部が設けられている。シュータン122は、アッパー本体121に設けられた開口部のうち、足の甲の一部を露出させる部分を覆うようにアッパー本体121に縫製、溶着あるいは接着またはこれらの組み合わせ等によって固定されている。アッパー本体121およびシュータン122としては、たとえば織地や編地、合成皮革、樹脂等が用いられ、特に通気性や軽量性が求められる靴においては、ポリエステル糸を編み込んだダブルラッセル経編地が利用される。
 シューレース123は、アッパー本体121に設けられた足の甲の一部を露出させる開口部の周縁を足幅方向において互いに引き寄せるための紐状の部材からなり、当該開口部の周縁に設けられた複数の孔部に挿通されている。アッパー本体121に足が挿入された状態においてこのシューレース123を締め付けることにより、アッパー本体121を足に密着させることが可能になる。
 図33および図34に示すように、靴底110Aは、下側支持部材111と、上側支持部材112と、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dとを有している。下側支持部材111は、靴底110Aの下面を規定しており、当該下側支持部材111の下面は、接地面を構成している。上側支持部材112は、靴底110Aの上面を規定しており、当該上側支持部材112の上面は、アッパー本体121の底部の外底面に接合されている。複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、これら下側支持部材111および上側支持部材112によって挟み込まれており、これによって靴底110Aの内部に埋設されている。なお、下側支持部材111の厚みおよび上側支持部材112の厚みは、適宜変更が可能であり、双方を略同じとしてもよいし、一方を他方より厚くしてもよい。
 図34に示すように、靴底110Aは、平面視した状態において長軸方向である前後方向(図中の略上下方向)に沿って、足の足趾部と踏付け部とを支持する前足部R1、足の踏まず部を支持する中足部R2、および、足の踵部を支持する後足部R3に区画される。また、靴底110Aは、平面視した状態において長軸方向と交差する方向である足幅方向に沿って、足のうちの解剖学的正位における正中側(すなわち正中に近い側)である内足側の部分(図中に示すS1側の部分)と、足のうちの解剖学的正位における正中側とは反対側(すなわち正中に遠い側)である外足側の部分(図中に示すS2側の部分)とに区画される。
 複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、靴底110Aの周縁部に沿って配置されている。より詳細には、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、前足部R1の前方側の縁部、前足部R1の内足側の縁部、中足部R2の内足側の縁部、後足部R3の内足側の縁部、後足部R3の後方側の縁部、後足部R3の外足側の縁部、中足部R2の外足側の縁部、および、前足部R1の外足側の縁部に沿って互いに隣り合うように高密充填されている。なお、これら複数組の緩衝構造体10Dが配置された部分には、足の母趾を支持する部分、足の小趾を支持する部分、および、足の踵骨を支持する部分が含まれる。
 ここで、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの各々は、その軸線AX2(図15等参照)が靴底110Aの接地面と直交するように配置されている。このように構成することにより、着地時において足裏および地面から靴底110Aに付与される荷重が複数組の緩衝構造体10Dが大きい変形量をもって変形する(上述したように圧縮変形と剪断変形とを含んで大きく変形する)ことによって吸収され、靴底110Aから足裏に対して印加される荷重が減少し、高い緩衝機能が発揮されることになる。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Aおよびこれを備えた靴100Aとすることにより、材料的な面のみならず構造的な面においても高い緩衝機能が発揮されるように構成された靴底およびこれを備えた靴とすることができる。
 なお、下側支持部材111と上側支持部材112とは、接着または溶着等によって固定されており、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、その第1端面ES1および第2端面ES2(図12等参照)がそれぞれ下側支持部材111および上側支持部材112に対して接着または溶着等によって固定されている。
 下側支持部材111および上側支持部材112の材質としては、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、たとえば樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材とすることができ、特に好適にはエチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)、熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)、熱可塑性ポリアミド系エラストマー(TPAE)等の熱可塑性樹脂、ブタジエンゴム等のフォーム材とすることができる。なお、下側支持部材111の材質と上側支持部材112の材質とは、同じであってもよいし異なっていてもよい。
 また、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材の材質としては、上述した実施の形態1において説明したように、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、たとえば樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材または非フォーム材とすることができ、特に好適にはエチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)、熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)、熱可塑性ポリアミド系エラストマー(TPAE)等の熱可塑性樹脂、ブタジエンゴム等の非フォーム材、オレフィン系ポリマー、アミド系ポリマー、エステル系ポリマー、ウレタン系ポリマー、スチレン系ポリマー、アクリル系ポリマー等のポリマー組成物とすることができる。
 (実施の形態15)
 図35は、実施の形態15に係る靴の靴底の平面図である。以下、この図35を参照して、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Bおよびこれを備えた靴100Bについて説明する。なお、本実施の形態に係る靴100Bは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴100Aが具備する靴底110Aに代えて、以下において説明する靴底110Bを具備するものであり、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Bは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴底110Aと同様に、上述した実施の形態5に係る緩衝構造体10Dを複数組備えてなるものである。
 図35に示すように、靴底110Bは、下側支持部材111と、上側支持部材112と、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dとを有している。複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、下側支持部材111および上側支持部材112によって挟み込まれており、これによって靴底110Bの内部に埋設されている。
 複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、靴底110Bの前後方向の後方側の位置にのみ配置されている。より詳細には、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、中足部R2の後方側の部分、および、後足部R3の全域において互いに隣り合うように高密充填されている。なお、これら複数組の緩衝構造体10Dが配置された部分には、足の踵骨を支持する部分が含まれる。
 ここで、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dには、大きさの異なる複数種類のものが含まれている。これにより、靴底110Bの各部における緩衝機能に所定の分布が設けられることになる。
 以上において説明した本実施の形態に係る靴底110Bおよびこれを備えた靴100Bとした場合にも、上述した実施の形態14の場合と同様に、材料的な面のみならず構造的な面においても高い緩衝機能が発揮されるように構成された靴底およびこれを備えた靴とすることができる。
 (実施の形態16)
 図36は、実施の形態16に係る靴の靴底を上面側から見た斜視図である。図37は、図36に示す靴底を接地面側から見た斜視図である。以下、これら図36および図37を参照して、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Cおよびこれを備えた靴100Cについて説明する。なお、本実施の形態に係る靴100Cは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴100Aが具備する靴底110Aに代えて、以下において説明する靴底110Cを具備するものであり、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Cは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴底110Aと同様に、上述した実施の形態5に係る緩衝構造体10Dを複数組備えてなるものである。
 図36および図37に示すように、靴底110Cは、基部113と、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dと、これら複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの各々に設けられた下側支持部材114とを備えている。基部113は、靴底110Cの上面を規定しており、当該基部113の上面は、アッパー本体121の底部の外底面に接合される。複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、基部113の下面に互いに距離を隔てて配設されている。
 複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、靴底110Cの基部113の下面の全域にわたって配置されている。すなわち、靴底110Cの上述した前足部、中足部および後足部のいずれにも、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dが位置している。また、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dのうちの靴底110Cの周縁に位置するものの一部は、基部113の下面のみならず、基部113の周面にも達するように位置している。さらに、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dには、大きさの異なる複数種類のものが含まれている。
 複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの下面には、上述したように下側支持部材114が設けられている。当該下側支持部材114は、薄板状の部材からなり、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材を支持するとともに、接地面を規定するものである。
 なお、靴底110Cの前足部の中央部には、緩衝構造体10Dに代えて、突出部113aが設けられている。当該突出部113aは、基部113の一部を突出させることで構成された部位からなり、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dとともに接地面を規定している。当該突出部113aは、緩衝構造体10Dよりも圧縮剛性に優れた部位であり、着地時の安定性を高めるためのものである。なお、当該突出部113aは、必ずしもこれを設ける必要はなく、これを設けなかった場合には、当該部分を空間にて構成してもよいし(すなわち、着地時において基部113と地面との間に空間が形成されるように構成してもよいし)、当該部分に緩衝構造体10Dを設けてもよい。
 ここで、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの各々は、その軸線AX1(図15等参照)が靴底110Cの接地面と直交するように配置されている。このように構成することにより、着地時において足裏および地面から靴底110Cに付与される荷重が複数組の緩衝構造体10Dが大きい変形量をもって変形する(上述したように圧縮変形と剪断変形とを含んで大きく変形する)ことによって吸収され、靴底110Cから足裏に対して印加される荷重が減少し、高い緩衝機能が発揮されることになる。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Cおよびこれを備えた靴100Cとすることにより、材料的な面のみならず構造的な面においても高い緩衝機能が発揮されるように構成された靴底およびこれを備えた靴とすることができる。
 なお、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、その第1端面ES1および第2端面ES2(図16(A)ないし図16(C)等参照)がそれぞれ基部113および下側支持部材114に対して接着または溶着等によって固定されている。
 基部113の材質としては、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、たとえば樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材とすることができ、特に好適にはエチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)等の熱可塑性樹脂、ポリウレタン(PU)等の熱硬化性樹脂、ブタジエンゴム等のフォーム材とすることができる。なお、本実施の形態に係る基部113は、一般にミッドソールと称されるものである。
 一方、下側支持部材114の材質としては、たとえばゴムとすることができる。なお、本実施の形態に係る下側支持部材114は、一般にアウトソールと称されるものである。
 また、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの各々に含まれる複数個の緩衝材の材質は、前述の実施の形態14におけるそれらの材質と同様のものとすることができる。
 (実施の形態17)
 図38は、実施の形態17に係る靴の靴底を接地面側から見た斜視図である。以下、この図38を参照して、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Dおよびこれを備えた靴100Dについて説明する。なお、本実施の形態に係る靴100Dは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴100Aが具備する靴底110Aに代えて、以下において説明する靴底110Dを具備するものであり、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Dは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴底110Aと同様に、上述した実施の形態5に係る緩衝構造体10Dを複数組備えてなるものである。
 図38に示すように、靴底110Dは、基部113と、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dとを有している。複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、基部113の下面に互いに距離を隔てて配設されている。
 複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、靴底110Dの前後方向の後方側の位置にのみ配置されている。より詳細には、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dは、中足部の後方側の部分、および、後足部の全域において互いに隣り合うように高密充填されている。なお、これら複数組の緩衝構造体10Dが配置された部分には、足の踵骨を支持する部分が含まれる。
 ここで、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dのうちの靴底110Dの周縁に位置するものの一部は、基部113の下面のみならず、基部113の周面にも達するように位置している。さらに、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dには、大きさの異なる複数種類のものが含まれている。なお、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Dにおいては、上述した実施の形態16に係る靴底110Cが具備していた下側支持部材114(図36および図37参照)は設けられておらず、複数組の緩衝構造体10Dの下面が、そのまま接地面を規定している。
 以上において説明した本実施の形態に係る靴底110Dおよびこれを備えた靴100Dとした場合にも、上述した実施の形態16の場合と同様に、材料的な面のみならず構造的な面においても高い緩衝機能が発揮されるように構成された靴底およびこれを備えた靴とすることができる。
 (実施の形態18)
 図39は、実施の形態18に係る靴の靴底を接地面側から見た斜視図である。図40は、図39に示す靴底の平面図である。図41は、図39に示す靴底を外足側から見た側面図である。また、図42は、図39に示す靴底から下側支持部材を取り除いた状態の模式底面図である。以下、これら図39ないし図42を参照して、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eおよびこれを備えた靴100Eについて説明する。なお、本実施の形態に係る靴100Eは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴100Aが具備する靴底110Aに代えて、以下において説明する靴底110Eを具備するものである。
 図39ないし図42に示すように、靴底110Eは、基部113と、内足後側緩衝構造体10M1と、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2と、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1と、外足前側緩衝構造体10N2と、下側支持部材116とを有している。基部113は、いわゆるミッドソールであり、靴底110Aの上面を規定している。基部113は、その上面がアッパー本体121(図33参照)にたとえば接着等によって接合されている。下側支持部材111は、いわゆるアウトソールであり、靴底110Eの下面を規定している。下側支持部材116の下面は、接地面を構成している。内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2は、これら基部113および下側支持部材116によって挟み込まれている。
 ここで、理解を容易とするために、図39ないし図42においては、これら内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2の各々に濃い色を付すことにより、他の部材との境界を示すことでその配置位置を明確にしている。
 内足後側緩衝構造体10M1は、2個の緩衝構造体と、これら2個の緩衝構造体を支持する上側支持部材115とを含んでいる。2個の緩衝構造体の各々は、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gと近似の構成を有しており、3個の緩衝材1Mが互いに隙間Gをもって接近配置された緩衝ユニットからなる。
 当該3個の緩衝材1Mの各々は、第1端面ES1が略四角形であるとともに、第2端面ES2が略五角形のものからなる。すなわち、これら3個の緩衝材1Mの各々においては、Nが4であり、Mが5である。なお、上側支持部材115は、これら3個の緩衝材1Mの上端側の部分を接続するとともに、さらに上述した2個の緩衝構造体を接続する薄板状の形状を有している。これにより、内足後側緩衝構造体10M1は、上述した2個の緩衝構造体と当該上側支持部材115とを含めた単一の部材にて構成されている。
 ここで、2個の緩衝構造体に含まれる合計で6個の緩衝材1Mの各々は、その頂点や稜線に丸みが付けられた形状を有しているが、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gが有する緩衝材1I1~1I3と同様に、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間の途中位置に頂点P(図23参照)を有しており、これにより1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と3本の第3稜線L3とを有している。
 なお、これら2個の緩衝構造体の各々は、その軸方向に位置する一対の面がいずれもおおよそ六角形である略柱状の外形を有する点において、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gと同様の構成を有しているが、当該緩衝構造体に含まれる個々の緩衝材1Mの外形が互いに相違している点において、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gと異なる構成を有している。
 外足後側緩衝構造体10M2は、3個の緩衝構造体と、これら3個の緩衝構造体を支持する上側支持部材115とを含んでいる。3個の緩衝構造体の各々は、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gと近似の構成を有しており、3個の緩衝材1Mが互いに隙間Gをもって接近配置された緩衝ユニットからなる。
 当該3個の緩衝材1Mの各々は、第1端面ES1が略四角形であるとともに、第2端面ES2が略五角形のものからなる。すなわち、これら3個の緩衝材1Mの各々においては、Nが4であり、Mが5である。なお、上側支持部材115は、これら3個の緩衝材1Mの上端側の部分を接続するとともに、さらに上述した3個の緩衝構造体を接続する薄板状の形状を有している。これにより、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2は、上述した3個の緩衝構造体と当該上側支持部材115とを含めた単一の部材にて構成されている。
 ここで、3個の緩衝構造体に含まれる合計で9個の緩衝材1Mの各々は、その頂点や稜線に丸みが付けられた形状を有しているが、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gが有する緩衝材1I1~1I3と同様に、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間の途中位置に頂点P(図23参照)を有しており、これにより1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2と3本の第3稜線L3とを有している。
 なお、これら3個の緩衝構造体の各々は、その軸方向に位置する一対の面がいずれもおおよそ六角形である略柱状の外形を有する点において、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gと同様の構成を有しているが、当該緩衝構造体に含まれる個々の緩衝材1Mの外形が互いに相違している点において、上述した実施の形態8に係る緩衝構造体10Gと異なる構成を有している。
 内足前側緩衝構造体10N1は、2個の緩衝材1Nと、これら2個の緩衝材1Nを支持する上側支持部材115とを含んでいる。2個の緩衝材1Nの各々は、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間の途中位置に頂点を有することにより、1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2とを含んでいるが、厳密な意味においては、本発明に基づく緩衝材には該当しないものである。なお、上側支持部材115は、これら2個の緩衝材1Nの上端側の部分を接続する薄板状の形状を有しており、これにより、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1は、上述した2個の緩衝材1Nと当該上側支持部材115とを含めた単一の部材にて構成されている。
 外足前側緩衝構造体10N2は、2個の緩衝材1Nと、これら2個の緩衝材1Nを支持する上側支持部材115とを含んでいる。2個の緩衝材1Nの各々は、第1端面ES1と第2端面ES2との間の途中位置に頂点を有することにより、1本の第1稜線L1と2本の第2稜線L2とを含んでいるが、厳密な意味においては、本発明に基づく緩衝材には該当しないものである。なお、上側支持部材115は、これら2個の緩衝材1Nの上端側の部分を接続する薄板状の形状を有しており、これにより、外足前側緩衝構造体10N2は、上述した2個の緩衝材1Nと当該上側支持部材115とを含めた単一の部材にて構成されている。
 ここで、内足後側緩衝構造体10M1および外足後側緩衝構造体10M2に含まれる複数個の緩衝材1M、および、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2に含まれる複数個の緩衝材1Nは、いずれもその軸線AX1(図1等参照)が靴底110Eの接地面と直交するように配置されている。このように構成することにより、着地時において足裏および地面から靴底110Eに付与される荷重が、これら内足後側緩衝構造体10M1および外足後側緩衝構造体10M2に含まれる複数個の緩衝材1M、および、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2に含まれる緩衝材1Nが大きい変形量をもって変形する(上述したように圧縮変形と剪断変形とを含んで大きく変形する)ことによって吸収され、靴底110Eから足裏に対して印加される荷重が減少し、高い緩衝機能が発揮されることになる。
 内足後側緩衝構造体10M1と外足後側緩衝構造体10M2とは、互いに組み合わされることで平面視略U字状の形状を有するように構成されている。内足後側緩衝構造体10M1は、中足部R2の内足側の後方の縁部、および、後足部R3の内足側の縁部に沿って配置されており、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2は、後足部R3の後端側の縁部、後足部R3の外足側の縁部、および、中足部R2の外足側の後方の縁部に沿って配置されている。これら内足後側緩衝構造体10M1および外足後側緩衝構造体10M2が配置された領域は、靴底110Eのうちの足の踵骨を支持する部分Q3をおおよそ取り囲む位置である。
 内足前側緩衝構造体10N1は、平面視大きく開いた略C字状の形状を有するように構成されている。内足前側緩衝構造体10N1は、前足部R1の内足側の後方の縁部、および、中足部R2の内足側の前方の縁部に沿って配置されている。この内足前側緩衝構造体10N1が配置された領域は、靴底110Eのうちの足の母趾を支持する部分Q1に沿った位置である。
 外足前側緩衝構造体10N2は、平面視大きく開いた略C字状の形状を有するように構成されている。外足前側緩衝構造体10N2は、前足部R1の外足側の後方の縁部、および、中足部R2の外足側の前方の縁部に沿って配置されている。この外足前側緩衝構造体10N2が配置された領域は、靴底110Eのうちの足の小趾を支持する部分Q2に沿った位置である。
 すなわち、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eにおいては、靴底110Eのうちの足の母趾を支持する部分Q1の近傍に内足前側緩衝構造体10N1配置し、足の小趾を支持する部分Q2の近傍に外足前側緩衝構造体10N2を配置し、足の踵骨を支持する部分Q3の近傍に内足後側緩衝構造体10M1と外足後側緩衝構造体10M2を配置することにより、特に着地時において大きな荷重が付与されるこれら部分において高い緩衝性能が発揮されるように構成されている。
 内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2の各々は、その上側支持部材115の上面がミッドソールとしての基部113の下面にたとえば接着等することで接合されている。一方、内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2の各々の下面(すなわち、これらが有する複数個の緩衝材の第2端面ES2)には、アウトソールとしての下側支持部材116たとえば接着等することで接合されている。
 これにより、上述したように、これら内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2の各々が、基部113と下側支持部材116とによって挟み込まれて位置することになる。なお、本実施の形態においては、図39および図40に示すように、アウトソールとしての下側支持部材116が、複数の部材に分割されて構成されている。
 ミッドソールとしての基部113の材質は、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、上述した実施の形態14において説明したように、たとえば樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材とすることができ、特に好適にはエチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA))、熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)、熱可塑性ポリアミド系エラストマー(TPAE)等の熱可塑性樹脂、ブタジエンゴム等のフォーム材とすることができる。
 なお、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eにおいては、図40に示すように、基部113の上面のうちの中足部R2に該当する位置に、平面視X字状の難変形部113bが設けられている。この難変形部113bは、基部113のその他の部分よりもより変形し難いように構成された部分であり、たとえば非発泡の熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)エラストマーによって構成されている。ここで、理解を容易とするために、図40においては、難変形部113bが設けられた領域に薄い色を付している。
 内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2の材質は、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、上述した実施の形態14において説明したように、たとえば樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材または非フォーム材とすることができ、特に好適にはエチレン-酢酸ビニル共重合体(EVA)、熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)、熱可塑性ポリアミド系エラストマー(TPAE)等の熱可塑性樹脂、ブタジエンゴム等の非フォーム材、オレフィン系ポリマー、アミド系ポリマー、エステル系ポリマー、ウレタン系ポリマー、スチレン系ポリマー、アクリル系ポリマー等のポリマー組成物とすることができる。
 アウトソールとしての下側支持部材116の材質は、特にこれが制限されるものではないが、上述した実施の形態16において説明したように、たとえばゴムとすることができる。
 このように、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eにおいては、内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2に含まれる個々の緩衝材1M,1Nが、いずれもその上端側の部分において当該緩衝材1M,1Nと同じ材料からなりかつミッドソールとしての基部113に接合された上側支持部材115によって接続されており、その下端側の部分において軟質の材料からなるアウトソールとしての下側支持部材116によって接続されている。そのため、このように構成することにより、緩衝材1M,1Nの変形能を維持しつつ当該緩衝材1M,1Nを靴底110Eに組み込むことが可能になり、高い緩衝機能が発揮される靴底とすることができる。
 ここで、図42を参照して、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eにあっては、当該靴底110Eを平面視した場合において、足の踵骨を支持する部分Q3に沿うように基部113の後足部R3の縁部に配置された内足後側緩衝構造体10M1および外足後側緩衝構造体10M2が、これらの延びる方向において、図中に示す分割ラインLを境に分割されることで構成されている。
 内足後側緩衝構造体10M1が配置された、中足部R2の内足側の後方の部分、および、後足部R3の内足側の部分は、オーバープロネーションの発生を抑制する観点から、変形能と安定性とが求められる部位であり、これらの条件を満たすように、当該内足後側緩衝構造体10M1の外形が設計されていることが好ましい。
 この条件を満たす具体的な手法としては、たとえば緩衝ユニットに設けられる隙間の幅を小さくしたり、緩衝ユニットに含まれる緩衝材の第1端面の面積を大きくしたり、緩衝材の全体としての傾斜を小さくしたり、緩衝ユニットの軸方向の長さを大きくしたりすること等が想定される。また、緩衝ユニットの幅(すなわち、内足後側緩衝構造体の延びる方向と交差する方向の外形寸法)を大きくしたり、内足後側緩衝構造体の延びる方向における外形寸法を小さくしたりすることでも、上記条件を満たすことになる。
 外足後側緩衝構造体10M2が配置された、後足部R3の後端側の部分、後足部R3の外足側の部分、および、中足部R2の外足側の後方の部分は、上述した内足後側緩衝構造体に比べて求められる安定性は低いものの、さらに高い変形能が求められる部位であり、これらの条件を満たすように、当該外足後側緩衝構造体10M2の外形が設計されていることが好ましい。
 この条件を満たす具体的な手法としては、たとえば緩衝ユニットに設けられる隙間の幅を大きくしたり、緩衝ユニットに含まれる緩衝材の第1端面の面積を小さくしたり、緩衝材の全体としての傾斜を大きくしたり、緩衝ユニットの軸方向の長さを小さくしたりすること等が想定される。また、緩衝ユニットの幅(すなわち、外足後側緩衝構造体の延びる方向と交差する方向の外形寸法)を小さくしたり、外足後側緩衝構造体の延びる方向における外形寸法を大きくしたりすることでも、上記条件を満たすことになる。
 このように構成することにより、足の踵骨を支持する部分Q3の周囲において、中足部R2の内足側の後方の部分の圧縮剛性、ならびに、後足部R3の内足側の部分の圧縮剛性が相対的に高くなるとともに、後足部R3の後端側の部分の圧縮剛性、後足部R3の外足側の部分の圧縮剛性、ならびに、中足部R2の外足側の後方の部分の圧縮剛性が相対的に低くなる(すなわち、変形能が相対的に高くなる)。
 したがって、着地時において踵部が必要以上に内側に倒れ込んでしまういわゆるオーバープロネーションの発生を抑制することが可能になる。すなわち、オーバープロネーションが発生し易い人が本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eを備えた靴100Eを装着することにより、中足部R2の内足側の後方の部分および後足部R3の内足側の部分において足裏を安定的に支持することが可能になるため、これに伴ってミッドソールとしての基部113に作用する圧力を分散させることが可能となって基部113に過度な変形が発生することが抑制でき、結果としてオーバープロネーションの発生を抑制することができる。
 また、このように構成することにより、上述のとおり中足部R2の内足側の後方の部分および後足部R3の内足側の部分において足裏を安定的に支持することが可能になるため、これに伴ってミッドソールとしての基部113に作用する圧力を分散させることが可能となって基部113に過度な変形が発生することが抑制できることになり、外反偏平足の人が本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eを備えた靴100Eを装着することにより、着地時において足の内足側の部分に負担が集中してしまうことを回避することができる。
 一方で、上記のように構成することにより、後足部R3の後端側の部分、後足部R3の外足側の部分および中足部R2の外足側の後方の部分において着地時に外足後側緩衝構造体10M2がより大きく変形することにより、着地時に足裏に加わる衝撃を大幅に緩和させることが可能になる。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Eおよびこれを備えた靴100Eとすることにより、オーバープロネーションが発生し易い人や外反偏平足の人に特に適した、着地時の安定性に優れるとともに、足当たりが良好でかつ軽量化が図られた靴底およびこれを備えた靴とすることができる。
 (実施の形態19)
 図43は、実施の形態19に係る靴の靴底を接地面側から見た斜視図である。図44は、図43に示す靴底の平面図である。図45は、図43に示す靴底を外足側から見た側面図である。また、図46は、図43に示す靴底から下側支持部材を取り除いた状態の模式底面図である。以下、これら図43ないし図46を参照して、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Fおよびこれを備えた靴100Fについて説明する。なお、本実施の形態に係る靴100Fは、上述した実施の形態14に係る靴100Aが具備する靴底110Aに代えて、以下において説明する靴底110Fを具備するものである。
 図43ないし図46に示すように、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Fは、上述した実施の形態18に係る靴底110Eと比較した場合に、ミッドソールとしての基部113に設けられた難変形部113bの位置のみが相違している。具体的には、難変形部113bは、基部113の上面には設けられておらず、基部113の下面のうちの前足部R1の内足側の後方の部分、前足部R1の外足側の後方の部分、中足部R2のほぼ全体、および、後足部R3の全体に位置している。
 この難変形部113bは、基部113のその他の部分よりもより変形し難いように構成された部分であり、上述した実施の形態18の場合と同様に、たとえば熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)エラストマーによって構成されている。ここで、理解を容易とするために、図40においては、難変形部113bが設けられた領域に薄い色を付している。
 このように構成された本実施の形態に係る靴底110Fにおいては、内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2は、いずれもこの難変形部113bによって規定された基部113の下面に接合されることになる。なお、これら内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2の構成は、上述した実施の形態18におけるそれらの構成と同様であるため、ここではその説明は繰り返さない。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Fおよびこれを備えた靴100Fとすることにより、上述した実施の形態18の場合と同様に、オーバープロネーションが発生し易い人や外反偏平足の人に特に適した、着地時の安定性に優れるとともに、足当たりが良好でかつ軽量化が図られた靴底およびこれを備えた靴とすることができる。
 なお、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Fにあっては、上述したように、変形能が相対的に高い部分である基部113の上層部(すなわち、基部113のうちの難変形部113bを除く部分)と、変形能が相対的に高い内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2との間に、これらよりも変形能が低い薄板状の難変形部113bが位置している。
 そのため、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Fとすることにより、上述した実施の形態18に係る靴底110Eとした場合に比べ、着地時において基部113を介して内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2に加わることになる荷重が、当該難変形部113bによってより均一化されることになる。これは、当該難変形部113bが周囲に比して変形し難いため、その薄板状の形状がより維持された状態でこれら内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2を加圧するためである。
 したがって、本実施の形態に係る靴底110Fおよびこれを備えた靴100Fとすることにより、内足後側緩衝構造体10M1、外足後側緩衝構造体10M2、内足前側緩衝構造体10N1および外足前側緩衝構造体10N2に局所的に過度な変形が発生してしまうことが抑制可能となり、安定した緩衝性能を得ることができるようになる。
 なお、上記のように構成することにより、内足後側緩衝構造体、外足後側緩衝構造体、内足前側緩衝構造体および外足前側緩衝構造体等の緩衝構造体の接着対象が熱可塑性ポリウレタン(TPU)等の非フォーム材からなる難変形部となるため、当該接着対象をフォーム材とする場合よりも、接着作業が大幅に行ない易くなる(特に貼り付けの際の位置合わせが行ない易くなる)といった副次的な効果を得ることもできる。
 (実施の形態等における開示内容の要約)
 上述した実施の形態1ないし19およびそれらの変形例において開示した特徴的な構成を要約すると、以下のとおりとなる。

 上記本開示のある態様に従った緩衝材は、樹脂製のフォーム材、樹脂製の非フォーム材、ゴム製のフォーム材、および、ゴム製の非フォーム材のいずれかにて構成されていてもよい。

 本開示の第2の態様に従った緩衝構造体は、複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含むものである。上記複数個の緩衝材の各々は、上述した本開示のある態様に従った緩衝材からなる。上記複数個の緩衝材は、互いが有する上記複数の接続面のうち、上記第1稜線および上記第2稜線によって規定される接続面同士が隙間を介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置されている。上記本開示の第2の態様に従った緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材同士の間に形成された上記隙間の大きさが、略一定である。
 本開示の第3の態様に従った緩衝構造体は、上述した本開示の第2の態様に従った上記緩衝構造体が有する緩衝ユニットを複数組備えてなるものである。
 上記本開示の第2および第3の態様に従った緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材が、上記第1端面が五角形でありかつ上記第2端面が六角形である2個の第1緩衝材と、上記第1端面が五角形でありかつ上記第2端面が四角形である2個の第2緩衝材との合計で4個の緩衝材にて構成されていてもよい。その場合には、上記2個の第1緩衝材と上記2個の第2緩衝材とが上記緩衝ユニットの周方向に沿って交互に配置されているとともに、上記軸方向に沿った上記2個の第1緩衝材の向きと上記軸方向に沿った上記2個の第2緩衝材の向きとが逆であることにより、上記緩衝ユニットが、全体として略六角柱状の外形を有していることが好ましい。
 上記本開示の第2および第3の態様に従った緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する上記第3稜線のうちの上記緩衝ユニットの周面上に位置するものが、いずれも上記緩衝ユニットの軸線周りの同じ方向に向けて傾倒していてもよい。
 本開示の第4の態様に従った緩衝構造体は、複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含むものである。上記複数個の緩衝材の各々は、上述した本開示のある態様に従った緩衝材からなる。上記複数個の緩衝材は、互いが有する上記複数の接続面のうち、上記第3稜線のみによって規定される接続面同士が隙間を介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置されている。上記本開示の第4の態様に従った緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材同士の間に形成された上記隙間の大きさが、略一定である。
 本開示の第5の態様に従った緩衝構造体は、上述した本開示の第4の態様に従った上記緩衝構造体が有する緩衝ユニットを複数組備えてなるものである。
 上記本開示の第4および第5の態様に従った緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材が、上記第1端面が四角形でありかつ上記第2端面が五角形である3個の緩衝材にて構成されていてもよい。その場合には、上記3個の緩衝材同士が上記緩衝ユニットの周方向に沿って並んで配置されていることにより、上記緩衝ユニットが、全体として、当該緩衝ユニットの軸方向に位置する一対の面がいずれも六角形である略柱状の外形を有していることが好ましい。
 上記本開示の第4および第5の態様に従った緩衝構造体にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する上記第1稜線と、上記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する上記第3稜線のうちの上記緩衝ユニットの周面上に位置するものとが、いずれも上記緩衝ユニットの軸線周りの同じ方向に向けて傾倒していてもよい。
 本開示の第1の態様に従った靴底は、上述した本開示のある態様に従った緩衝材を備えてなるものである。
 上記本開示の第1の態様に従った靴底にあっては、上記軸線が接地面と直交するように、上記緩衝材が配置されていることが好ましい。
 本開示の第2の態様に従った靴底は、上述した本開示の第1ないし第5の態様に従った緩衝構造体のいずれかを備えてなるものである。
 上記本開示の第2の態様に従った靴底にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する上記軸線が接地面と直交するように、上記複数個の緩衝材が配置されていることが好ましい。
 本開示のある態様に従った靴は、上述した本開示の第1および第2の態様に従った靴底のいずれかと、上記靴底の上方に設けられたアッパーとを備えてなるものである。
 また、特に、上述した実施の形態18および19において開示した特徴的な構成を要約すると、以下のとおりとなる。
 本開示の他のある態様に従った靴底は、ミッドソールと、上記ミッドソールの下方に位置するアウトソールと、上記ミッドソールと上記アウトソールとの間に位置する緩衝構造体とを備えている。上記緩衝構造体は、当該靴底のうちの足の踵骨を支持する部分に沿うように上記ミッドソールの後足部の縁部に少なくとも位置している。上記緩衝構造体は、上述した本開示の第5の態様に従った緩衝構造体からなり、上述した本開示の第4の態様に従った上記緩衝構造体が有する上記緩衝ユニットが、上記ミッドソールの上記後足部の縁部に沿って複数個並ぶように配置されてなるものである。上記複数個の緩衝ユニットの各々は、隣り合う緩衝ユニットの少なくともいずれかと薄板状の支持部材によって接続されている。
 上記本開示の他のある態様に従った靴底にあっては、上記支持部材が、上記複数個の緩衝ユニットの上記ミッドソール側の端部に設けられていてもよく、その場合には、上記支持部材が上記ミッドソールの下面に接合されることにより、上記緩衝構造体が上記ミッドソールに固定されていることが好ましい。
 上記本開示の他のある態様に従った靴底にあっては、上記緩衝構造体が、当該靴底を平面視した場合において上記緩衝構造体の延びる方向において分割されることにより、内足後側緩衝構造体と外足後側緩衝構造体とを含んでいてもよい。その場合には、上記内足後側緩衝構造体の変形能と上記外足後側緩衝構造体の変形能とに差が生じるように、上記複数個の緩衝ユニットの各々の外形が異なっていてもよい。また、その場合には、上記外足後側緩衝構造体の変形能が、上記内足後側緩衝構造体の変形能よりも高いことが好ましい。
 上記本開示の他のある態様に従った靴底にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝ユニットが有する複数個の上記緩衝材の各々の上記第2端面を覆うように当該第2端面に接合されることにより、上記アウトソールが上記緩衝構造体に固定されていてもよい。
 上記本開示の他のある態様に従った靴底にあっては、上記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する上記軸線が接地面と直交するように、上記複数個の緩衝材が配置されていることが好ましい。
 本開示の他のある態様に従った靴は、上述した本開示の他のある態様に従った靴底のいずれかと、上記靴底の上方に設けられたアッパーとを備えてなるものである。
 なお、上述した本開示のある態様に従った緩衝材は、上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面が互いに接続する部分のうちの一部または全部(すなわち、上記1本の第1稜線、上記2本の第2稜線、上記(2×N-M)本の第3稜線および上記複数の頂点のうちの一部または全部)において、厳密な意味において鋭角状または鈍角状あるいは直角状の角部を有している必要はなく、当該部分のうちの一部または全部は、隣接する部分の上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面よりも十分に小さい平面または曲面を介して接続されていてもよい。すなわち、これら部分のうちの一部または全部が、たとえば面取りされていてもよいし、丸みを帯びた形状にて構成されていてもよい。また、上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面のうちの一部または全部は、平面であってもよいし曲面であってもよい。さらには、上記第1端面、上記第2端面および上記複数の接続面のうちの一部または全部に凹部や凸部等が設けられていてもよい。
 (その他の形態等)
 上述した実施の形態14ないし19においては、本発明に係る緩衝材を備えた靴底の製造方法として、複数組の緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体を下側支持部材および上側支持部材によって挟み込んでこれらに接着等によって固定する方法と、基部に対して接着等によって固定する方法とに限って説明を行なったが、その他の製造方法に従ってこれを製造することもできる。
 たとえば、靴底を単一のソール部材にて構成することとし、その成形時において、当該ソール部材の内部に一組あるいは複数組の緩衝構造体をインサート成形によって埋設することとしてもよい。その場合、ソール部材の厚みと緩衝構造体の軸方向の外形寸法とを同じにすれば、緩衝構造体の底面が、靴底の底面と同一面上に位置することになる。なお、上述のように緩衝構造体をインサート成形した後のソール部材の底面に、さらにアウトソールを貼り付けてもよい。
 また、靴底を単一のソール部材にて構成することとし、その上面または下面にのみ単数または複数の凹部を設け、当該凹部内に緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体を嵌め込んでもよい。その場合、当該緩衝構造体およびソール部材のさらに上方にアッパーが配置されることになる。なお、緩衝構造体を嵌め込んだ後のソール部材または緩衝構造体の底面に、さらにアウトソールを貼り付けてもよい。
 また、上述した実施の形態14ないし19においては、複数組の緩衝ユニットとしての緩衝構造体を備えてなる靴底およびこれを備えた靴を例示して説明を行なったが、一組の緩衝構造体のみが靴底に備えられていてもよいし、これら緩衝構造体と上述した実施の形態1およびその変形例において示した緩衝材とが混在して靴底に備えられていてもよい。さらには、上述した実施の形態1およびその変形例において示した緩衝材のみを備えた靴底とすることも当然に可能である。
 加えて、緩衝構造体および/または緩衝材とソール部材とを、同種の材料を用いて共に樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材にて形成することとしてもよい、これらを異種の材料を用いて共に樹脂またはゴムのフォーム材にて形成することとしてもよい。
 さらには、上述した実施の形態14ないし19においては、本発明に係る緩衝材を靴の靴底に適用した場合を例示して説明を行なったが、本発明に係る緩衝材は、他の緩衝用途に使用することができる。たとえば、本発明に係る緩衝材は、梱包材や、建築物(たとえば住宅等)の床材、舗装路の表面材、ソファーや椅子等の表面材、タイヤ等、様々な用途に使用することができる。
 また、上述した実施の形態1ないし19およびその変形例において開示した特徴的な構成は、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲において、相互に組み合わせることが可能である。
 このように、今回開示した上記実施の形態およびその変形例はすべての点で例示であって、制限的なものではない。本発明の技術的範囲は請求の範囲によって画定され、また請求の範囲の記載と均等の意味および範囲内でのすべての変更を含むものである。

Claims (19)

  1.  軸線が延びる方向である軸方向において相対する第1端面および第2端面と、前記第1端面の周縁および前記第2端面の周縁を接続する複数の接続面とを外表面として有する外形が柱状の緩衝材であって、
     前記第1端面は、前記軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形がN角形(Nは3以上の整数)であり、
     前記第2端面は、前記軸方向に沿って見た場合に外形がM角形(Mは4以上であってNよりも大きい整数)であり、
     前記複数の接続面によって規定される周面のうちの前記軸方向における途中位置には、(M-N)個の頂点が設けられ、
     前記周面に設けられた(M-N)個の頂点から前記第1端面が有するN個の頂点のうちの1個の頂点に達するように1本の第1稜線が設けられ、
     前記周面に設けられた(M-N)個の頂点から前記第2端面が有するM個の頂点のうちの周方向において隣り合う2個の頂点に達するように2本の第2稜線が設けられ、
     前記第1端面が有するN個の頂点のうちの残る頂点から前記第2端面が有するM個の頂点のうちの残る頂点に達するように(2×N-M)本の第3稜線が設けられ、
     前記第1稜線、前記第2稜線および前記第3稜線に含まれる稜線は、互いに交差することがなく、
     前記第1稜線、前記第2稜線および前記第3稜線に含まれる稜線により、前記複数の接続面が規定されている、緩衝材。
  2.  中実状または中空状である、請求項1に記載の緩衝材。
  3.  樹脂製のフォーム材、樹脂製の非フォーム材、ゴム製のフォーム材、および、ゴム製の非フォーム材のいずれかからなる、請求項1または2に記載の緩衝材。
  4.  前記Mが、10以下である、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の緩衝材。
  5.  前記第3稜線が、いずれも前記軸線周りの同じ方向に向けて傾倒している、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の緩衝材。
  6.  請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の緩衝材を複数個備えてなる、緩衝構造体。
  7.  複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含む緩衝構造体であって、
     前記複数個の緩衝材の各々は、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の緩衝材からなり、
     前記複数個の緩衝材は、互いが有する前記複数の接続面のうち、前記第1稜線および前記第2稜線によって規定される接続面同士が隙間を介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置され、
     前記複数個の緩衝材同士の間に形成された前記隙間の大きさが、略一定である、緩衝構造体。
  8.  前記緩衝ユニットを複数組備えてなる、請求項7に記載の緩衝構造体。
  9.  前記複数個の緩衝材が、前記第1端面が五角形でありかつ前記第2端面が六角形である2個の第1緩衝材と、前記第1端面が四角形でありかつ前記第2端面が五角形である2個の第2緩衝材との合計で4個の緩衝材からなり、
     前記2個の第1緩衝材と前記2個の第2緩衝材とが前記緩衝ユニットの周方向に沿って交互に配置されているとともに、前記軸方向に沿った前記2個の第1緩衝材の向きと前記軸方向に沿った前記2個の第2緩衝材の向きとが逆であることにより、前記緩衝ユニットが、全体として略六角柱状の外形を有している、請求項7または8に記載の緩衝構造体。
  10.  前記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する前記第3稜線のうちの前記緩衝ユニットの周面上に位置するものが、いずれも前記緩衝ユニットの軸線周りの同じ方向に向けて傾倒している、請求項7から9のいずれかに記載の緩衝構造体。
  11.  複数個の緩衝材が組み合わされることでユニット化されてなる緩衝ユニットを含む緩衝構造体であって、
     前記複数個の緩衝材の各々は、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の緩衝材からなり、
     前記複数個の緩衝材は、互いが有する前記複数の接続面のうち、前記第3稜線のみによって規定される接続面同士が隙間を介して相互に対向するように隣り合って配置され、
     前記複数個の緩衝材同士の間に形成された前記隙間の大きさが、略一定である、緩衝構造体。
  12.  前記緩衝ユニットを複数組備えてなる、請求項8に記載の緩衝構造体。
  13.  前記複数個の緩衝材が、前記第1端面が四角形でありかつ前記第2端面が五角形である3個の緩衝材からなり、
     前記3個の緩衝材同士が前記緩衝ユニットの周方向に沿って並んで配置されていることにより、前記緩衝ユニットが、全体として、当該緩衝ユニットの軸方向に位置する一対の面がいずれも六角形である略柱状の外形を有している、請求項11または12に記載の緩衝構造体。
  14.  前記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する前記第1稜線と、前記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する前記第3稜線のうちの前記緩衝ユニットの周面上に位置するものとが、いずれも前記緩衝ユニットの軸線周りの同じ方向に向けて傾倒している、請求項11から13のいずれかに記載の緩衝構造体。
  15.  請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の緩衝材を備えてなる、靴底。
  16.  前記軸線が接地面と直交するように、前記緩衝材が配置されている、請求項15に記載の靴底。
  17.  請求項6から14のいずれかに記載の緩衝構造体を備えてなる、靴底。
  18.  前記複数個の緩衝材の各々が有する前記軸線が接地面と直交するように、前記複数個の緩衝材が配置されている、請求項17に記載の靴底。
  19.  請求項15から18のいずれかに記載の靴底と、
     前記靴底の上方に設けられたアッパーとを備えてなる、靴。
