Definitions
- the present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating hair loss, or promoting hair growth or hair growth, comprising a complex extract of beetroot, red onion, and purple sweet potato as an active ingredient.
- the dermal papilla cells among the cells forming the hair follicle play an important role in the growth of the hair, and during the growth of the hair follicle, proliferation of the constituent cells of the hair follicle including keratinocytes of the matrix surrounding the dermal papilla occurs.
- the growth of the hair follicle stops, apoptosis, condensation of the dermal papilla, and the reorganization of the extracellular matrix occur. The bay will remain.
- Hair loss refers to the increase in the proportion of hair that grows in the hair follicle during the degenerative or telogen phase than the hair that grows in the hair follicle during the growth period during the hair follicle growth cycle, resulting in an increase in abnormally falling hair.
- the causes of such hair loss include poor blood circulation, excessive male hormone action, excess sebum secretion, hypothesis of scalp function due to peroxides and bacteria, genetic factors, aging, stress, etc. Is unknown.
- DHT dihydrotestosterone
- Testosterone is converted to DHT by 5-alpha-reductase, and this conversion occurs by 5 alpha-reductase of Type 2 among two types of 5 alpha-reductase, Type 1 and Type 2. It has been reported that gradual reduction of the dermal papilla and hair follicles proceeds by the converted DHT.
- the present inventors have confirmed the effect of preventing or treating hair loss symptoms by paying attention to red fruits or vegetables, but a single material of these red fruits and vegetables is effective in preventing or treating hair loss symptoms.
- the lack of is reduced, and polite research efforts were made to maximize their effects.
- the combination of three kinds of beet, red onion, and purple sweet potato significantly promotes cell proliferation of dermal papilla cells (HHDPC), inhibits nitric oxide-mediated inflammatory response, and prevents reactive oxygen species (ROS).
- HHDPC dermal papilla cells
- ROS reactive oxygen species
- Inhibits production increases the expression of Bcl-2 protein, which inhibits apoptosis of human dermal papilla cells, and inhibits the expression of Bax protein, PARP-1 protein, and Caspase-3 protein, which promotes apoptosis of human dermal papilla cells.

- Apoptosis is known as an active cell death that occurs as a process of programmed apoptosis through the regulation of various protein activities and gene expression according to signals inside the cell.
- Representative external factors are cell damage or severe stress caused by radiation, high heat shock, toxins, infection by bacteria or viruses, and apoptosis reactions. May be associated with damage to
- a typical gene for inhibiting apoptosis is the Bcl-2 gene, and the Bcl-2 gene is known to act antagonistically with the Bax gene.
- caspases are known as the most important executors that are variously activated for each organelle in the process of cell death. The degree and route can be identified.
- caspase-3 increases the expression of PARP proteins, which are involved in DNA repair, DNA stability, and transcriptional regulation, and cleaves PARP proteins. And enters the final apoptosis stage.
- the effect of the three complex extracts of beet, red onion, and purple sweet potato on the expression of genes related to apoptosis of dermal papilla cells was verified, and the beet, red onion, and The complex extract of purple sweet potato increases the expression of Bcl-2 protein, which inhibits apoptosis of human dermal papilla cells, and expresses Bax protein, PARP-1 protein, and Caspase-3 protein, which promotes apoptosis of human dermal papilla cells. It was confirmed that it inhibited (see Figs. 4 and 5).
