Description
本発明は、アンテナモジュールに関する。
ワイヤレスネットワークを利用した通信機器には、電気信号の送受信のため、例えば特許文献1に記載されるようなアンテナモジュールが搭載されている。
本開示に係るアンテナモジュールは、制御回路を有する制御基板と、制御基板上に搭載され、シールドスルーホールおよび平面視した場合に並んで配置された複数の第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体を有するアンテナ基板と、シールドスルーホールと電気的に接続され、高周波フィルターおよび低周波フィルターを有するフィルターとを備える。制御基板またはアンテナ基板は、第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体と対向する位置に内部アンテナを有している。平面視した場合に、互いに隣接する第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体の間に、シールドスルーホールとフィルターとが位置している。
特許文献1に記載されるように、従来のアンテナモジュールには、必要な周波数帯の電気信号と不要な周波数帯の電気信号とを分離するためのフィルタリング基板が、制御回路を有する制御基板の表面に接続されている。すなわち、アンテナ回路を有するアンテナ基板と制御基板との間に、さらにフィルタリング基板が存在しており、基板の層数が多くなるため嵩高く複雑な構造を有している。そのため、通信機器の小型化などの妨げとなる。
本開示に係るアンテナモジュールは、制御基板の表面にアンテナ基板が搭載されており、アンテナ基板と制御基板との間にフィルタリング基板が存在しない。そのため、本開示に係るアンテナモジュールは、基板の層数が少なく多層化を避けることができるため、シンプルな構造を有している。
本開示の第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュールを、図1および2に基づいて説明する。図1は、本開示の第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1を示す説明図である。第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1は、制御基板11およびアンテナ基板12を含む。
制御基板11は制御回路を備えており、電磁波の強弱を制御するために使用される。図1では詳細に示していないが、制御基板11は、例えば、絶縁層と配線導体層とが交互に積層されたビルドアップ構造を有している。
絶縁層は、絶縁性を有する素材で形成されていれば特に限定されない。絶縁性を有する素材としては、例えば、エポキシ樹脂、ビスマレイミド-トリアジン樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、ポリフェニレンエーテル樹脂などの樹脂が挙げられる。これらの樹脂は2種以上を混合して用いてもよい。
絶縁層には、補強材が含まれていてもよい。補強材としては、例えば、ガラス繊維、ガラス不織布、アラミド不織布、アラミド繊維、ポリエステル繊維などの絶縁性布材が挙げられる。補強材は2種以上を併用してもよい。さらに、絶縁層には、シリカ、硫酸バリウム、タルク、クレー、ガラス、炭酸カルシウム、酸化チタンなどの無機絶縁性フィラーが分散されていてもよい。
配線導体層は、導電性を有する素材であれば特に限定されない。導電性を有する素材としては、例えば、銅などの金属が挙げられる。配線導体層は、具体的には、銅箔などの金属箔や銅めっきなどの金属めっきによって形成される。さらに、図2に示すように、制御基板11には、内部アンテナ17が備えられている。図2に示すように、制御基板11に内部アンテナ17が備えられることによって、使用する電磁波の帯域幅を広げることができる。
制御基板11の表面に、アンテナ基板12が制御基板11と電気的に接続されている。アンテナ基板12は、絶縁層13、アンテナ用パッチ導体14、シールドスルーホール15およびフィルター16を含む。
絶縁層13は、絶縁性を有する素材であれば特に限定されない。絶縁性を有する素材としては、例えば、フッ素樹脂や液晶ポリマー、上述の樹脂などが挙げられる。絶縁層13にも、必要に応じて、上述の補強材が含まれていてもよく、無機絶縁性フィラーが分散されていてもよい。
アンテナ用パッチ導体14は、電磁波を受発信するために備えられている。アンテナ基板12を平面視した場合に、複数のアンテナ用パッチ導体14が縦横に複数備えられている。複数のアンテナ用パッチ導体14は、通常、等間隔で整列して位置している。
アンテナ基板12では、アンテナ用パッチ導体14は、絶縁層13の上下面にそれぞれ対向する位置に備えられている。本明細書において、便宜上、絶縁層13の上面に位置するアンテナ用パッチ導体14を「第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体」とし、絶縁層13の下面に位置するアンテナ用パッチ導体14を「第2のアンテナ用パッチ導体」とする。アンテナ用パッチ導体14は、導電性を有する素材であれば特に限定されない。このような素材としては、上述の配線導体層と同様に、銅などの金属が挙げられる。
アンテナ基板12を平面視した場合に、互いに隣接するアンテナ用パッチ導体14の間には、シールドスルーホール15が形成されている。シールドスルーホール15は、グランド用スルーホールであり、フィルター回路への電磁波による影響およびフィルター回路からの電磁波により受発信の電磁波への影響を低減する。
シールドスルーホール15は、アンテナ用パッチ導体14の周囲に沿うように形成されている。図2において、シールドスルーホール15は、アンテナ用パッチ導体14の2辺のみに沿うように記載されているが、実際には、シールドスルーホール15は、残りの2辺にも沿うように位置している。
アンテナ基板12において、フィルター16は、アンテナ基板12(絶縁層13)に埋設され、シールドスルーホール15に挟まれるように設けられている。フィルター16は、アンテナ用パッチ導体14で受信された電磁波、あるいはアンテナ用パッチ導体14から発信される電磁波のうち、必要な周波数帯の電磁波と不要な周波数帯の電磁波とを分離する。
フィルター16には、少なくとも高周波フィルター(HPF)および低周波フィルター(LPF)が含まれていればよい。HPFおよびLPFが含まれていれば、高周波数帯の電磁波と低周波数帯の電磁波とを除去することができる。図1に示すフィルター16には、HPFおよびLPF以外にも、帯域フィルター(バンドパスフィルター:BPF)が含まれている。
第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1において、例えば、アンテナ用パッチ導体14(第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体)で受信された電磁波は、第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体と対向する位置に備えられたアンテナ用パッチ導体14(第2のアンテナ用パッチ導体)を介して、制御基板11に備えられた内部アンテナ17に伝送される。次いで、内部アンテナ17に伝達された電磁波は、信号用導体を通ってフィルター16まで伝送される。フィルター16に伝送された電磁波は、必要な周波数帯の電磁波と不要な周波数帯の電磁波とに分離される。必要な周波数帯の電磁波は、制御基板11に備えられた制御回路に伝送される。一方、不要な周波数帯の電磁波は、例えば、制御基板11に形成されたグランド層に伝送され、アンテナモジュール1の外部に放出される。
第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1においてフィルター16は、アンテナ基板12内に埋設されている。そのため、第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1には、フィルター16を含むさらなる基板が存在しない。したがって、第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1は、多層化を避けることができるためシンプルな構造を有しており、通信機器の小型化にも寄与することができる。
次に、本開示の第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュールを、図3に基づいて説明する。図3(A)は、本開示の第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2に備えられるアンテナ基板22を示す模式図である。図3(B)は、本開示の第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2を示す説明図である。
第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2は、第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1と比べてフィルターの位置が異なる。第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1では、上述のように、フィルター16は、アンテナ基板12内に埋設されている。一方、第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2では、フィルター26は、アンテナ基板22の表面に位置しており絶縁層23内に埋設されていない。すなわち、第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2では、アンテナ用パッチ導体24を囲むように、フィルター26を含む部材26’がアンテナ基板22の表面に位置している。
フィルター26は、アンテナ基板22の表面に設けられていても、上述のように、必要な周波数帯の電磁波と不要な周波数帯の電磁波とを分離することができる。第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2において、例えば、アンテナ用パッチ導体24(第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体)で受信された電磁波は、第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体と対向する位置に備えられたアンテナ用パッチ導体24(第2のアンテナ用パッチ導体)を介して、制御基板21に備えられた内部アンテナに伝送される。
次いで、内部アンテナに伝達された電磁波は、アンテナ基板22に位置する信号用スルーホール28を通ってフィルター26まで伝送される。フィルター26に伝送された電磁波は、必要な周波数帯の電磁波と不要な周波数帯の電磁波とに分離される。必要な周波数帯の電磁波は、信号用スルーホール28を通って制御基板21に備えられた制御回路に伝送される。一方、不要な周波数帯の電磁波は、例えば、制御基板21に形成されたグランド層に伝送され、アンテナモジュール2の外部に放出される。
第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2では、フィルター26を含む部材26’がアンテナ基板22の表面に搭載されている。そのため、部材26’が、アンテナ基板22の表面のアンテナ用パッチ導体24間における電磁波の混線を低減する。さらに、フィルターを含むさらなる基板が存在しない。したがって、第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2は、多層化を避けることができるため、シンプルな構造を有しており、通信機器の小型化にも寄与することができる。
第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2に含まれる制御基板21、絶縁層23、アンテナ用パッチ導体24およびシールドスルーホール25は、上述の第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1に含まれる制御基板11、絶縁層13、アンテナ用パッチ導体14およびシールドスルーホール15で説明した通りである。したがって、詳細な説明は省略する。
次に、本開示の第3の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュールを、図4に基づいて説明する。図4(A)は、本開示の第3の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール3に備えられるアンテナ基板32を示す模式図である。図3(B)は、本開示の第3の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール3を示す説明図である。
第3の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール3は、第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2と同様、フィルター36はアンテナ基板32の表面に設けられている。しかし、第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2では、フィルター26を部材26’として搭載しているのに対し、第3の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール3では、フィルター36が内蔵された枠体36’でアンテナ用パッチ導体34を囲んでいる。
フィルター36を内蔵している枠体36’の材質は特に限定されない。枠体36’の材質としては、エポキシ樹脂、ビスマレイミド-トリアジン樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、ポリフェニレンエーテル樹脂、フッ素樹脂、液晶ポリマーなどの樹脂が挙げられる。これらの樹脂は2種以上を混合して用いてもよい。
このように、アンテナ基板32の表面に枠体36’を設けることによって、アンテナ基板32と制御基板31との熱膨張率の違いによるアンテナモジュール3の反りや変形を低減することができる。つまり、枠体36’は、アンテナモジュールの剛性を向上させる。さらに、フィルターを含むさらなる基板が存在しない。したがって、第3の実施形態にかかるアンテナモジュール3は、シンプルな構造を有しており、通信機器の小型化にも寄与することができる。
さらに、フィルター36が内蔵された枠体36’の少なくとも外側面および内側面は、金属膜で被覆されていてもよい。枠体36’の少なくとも外側面および内側面が金属膜で被覆されることによって、枠体36’に導波管としての機能を付与することができる。金属膜としては、例えば銅、金、アルミなどの膜が挙げられる。金属膜の形成方法は限定されず、例えば、金属膜はめっきによって形成されてもよく、金属箔の貼り付けによって形成されてもよい。さらに、枠体36’の上端面が金属膜で被覆されていても構わない。
第3の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール3に含まれる制御基板31、絶縁層33、アンテナ用パッチ導体34およびシールドスルーホール35は、上述の第1の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール1に含まれる制御基板11、絶縁層13、アンテナ用パッチ導体14およびシールドスルーホール15で説明した通りである。第3の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール3に含まれる信号用スルーホール38は、上述の第2の実施形態に係るアンテナモジュール2に含まれる信号用スルーホール28で説明した通りである。したがって、これらの詳細な説明は省略する。
本開示のアンテナモジュールは、上述の一実施形態および他の実施形態に限定されない。上述の実施形態では、内部アンテナ17は、いずれも制御基板11に備えられている。しかし、内部アンテナは、アンテナ基板内に備えられていてもよい。この場合、アンテナ用パッチ導体は上述の第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体のみが備えられ、第2のアンテナ用パッチ導体の代わりに内部アンテナが備えられる。
1つのアンテナモジュール内に上述の複数の実施形態が存在していても構わない。この場合、1つのアンテナモジュール内に各実施形態における電磁波の送受信特性を持たせることが可能になる点で有利である。
さらに、本開示のアンテナモジュールには、より反りを低減するために、制御基板の下面に金属の枠(スティフナー)を設けてもよい。金属の枠としては、例えば銅、42合金、コバール、ステンレス、アルミなどの枠が挙げられる。

Claims (9)
- 制御回路を有する制御基板と、
前記制御基板上に搭載されるとともに、シールドスルーホールおよび平面視した場合に並んで配置された複数の第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体を有するアンテナ基板と、
前記シールドスルーホールと電気的に接続されるとともに、高周波フィルターおよび低周波フィルターを有するフィルターと、
を備えており、
前記制御基板または前記アンテナ基板は、前記第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体と対向する位置に配置された内部アンテナを有しており、
平面視した場合に、互いに隣接する前記第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体の間に、前記シールドスルーホールと前記フィルターとが位置していることを特徴とするアンテナモジュール。 - 前記フィルターが、前記アンテナ基板内に位置しており、前記シールドスルーホールで挟まれている請求項1に記載のアンテナモジュール。
- 前記第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体が、前記フィルターおよび前記シールドスルーホールの上方に位置している請求項2に記載のアンテナモジュール。
- 前記フィルターが、前記アンテナ基板上に位置している請求項1に記載のアンテナモジュール。
- 前記フィルターが、前記シールドスルーホールの上方に位置している請求項4に記載のアンテナモジュール。
- 前記アンテナ基板上に、前記第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体それぞれを分離するように取り囲む枠体をさらに備えており、
前記フィルターが、前記枠体に内蔵されている請求項1に記載のアンテナモジュール。 - 前記枠体は、外方に位置する外側面と、前記第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体を取り囲むよう位置する内側面と、を有しており、
少なくとも前記外側面および前記内側面が、金属膜で被覆されている請求項6に記載のアンテナモジュール。 - 前記内部アンテナが、前記制御基板内に位置しており、
前記アンテナ基板は、前記第1のアンテナ用パッチ導体と対向する位置にそれぞれ配置された複数の第2のアンテナ用パッチ導体をさらに有している請求項1~7のいずれかに記載のアンテナモジュール。 - 平面視した場合に、互いに隣接する前記第2のアンテナ用パッチ導体の間に、前記シールドスルーホールと前記フィルターとが位置している請求項8に記載のアンテナモジュール。
