구취 포집은 총 5명의 흡연자를 대상으로 실시예별 5회씩 수행되었으며, 회당 간격은 30분으로 설정하여 수행되었다. 구취 포집은 흡연자 각각이 1개비 흡연 후 2분간 함구한 이후 수행되었으며, 포집된 연기는 3L 테들러백에 샘플링되어 TD(thermal desorber)/GC(gas chromatography)- PFPD(pulsed flame photometric detector) 분석을 수행하였다.분석은 구취를 유발하는 주요성분인 H 2S(Hydrogen Sulfide), MM(Methyl Mercaptan), DMS(Di-Methyl Sulfide) 및 DMDS(Di-Methyl Di-Sulfide)을 대상으로 수행되었으나, H 2S, DMS 및 DMDS의 경우 역치 이하 수준의 농도로 검출되는 등 유의미한 결과 도출에 어려움이 있는 관계로 상기 표 12에서는 제외하였다.표 12에는 실시예별 MM(메테인싸이올(methanethiol)로도 불리우는 메틸머캅탄을 지칭하며, 이하에서는 설명의 편의상 메틸머캅탄으로 칭한다)의 역치지수(TI, Threshold Index)를 측정한 결과가 제시되어 있다. 상기 TI는 실시예별 5회 측정값들의 중위값(Median)을 역치(0.07ppb)로 나누어 산정되었다.Halitosis collection was performed 5 times for each example targeting a total of 5 smokers, and the interval was set to 30 minutes.
