대중적으로 사용되는 가스센서로는 가스 크로마토그래피 (gas chromatography), 저항변화식 가스센서, 그리고 색변화 가스센서 등이 있다. 각각의 센서들은 사용 목적 혹은 환경에 따라 선택적으로 활용된다. 가스 크로마토그래피는 다른 가스센서에 비해 정확한 정성 및 정량 분석이 가능하지만, 가격이 비싸며, 크기가 크고, 분석 시간이 오래 소요된다는 단점이 있다. 저항변화식 가스센서의 경우 금속산화물 기반의 반도체 물질을 사용하는 것으로, 타겟 가스가 금속산화물 반도체의 표면에서의 흡착 및 탈착 과정에서 변화하는 전기저항 값을 측정하여 타겟 가스의 정량 및 정성 분석을 수행한다. 저항변화식 가스센서는 구성이 간단하고 휴대가 용이하다는 장점이 있지만, 측정할 수 있는 가스의 종류가 한정되어 있으며, 가스 크로마토그래피에 비해 감도 특성 및 검출 한계 농도 (limit of detection)가 높다는 단점이 있다. 또한, 이러한 가스센서는 고온에서의 동작을 위한 히터가 요구되며 전기저항을 실시간으로 읽기 위한 회로가 필요하므로, 추가적인 전력 소비를 요구한다는 단점이 있다.
따라서, 이와 같은 가스센서들의 문제점을 해결하면서, 유해가스 및 생체지표 가스에 대한 효과적인 검출을 가능하게 하는 가스센서의 개발이 요구된다.
특정 가스 분자와 흡착 및 반응하여 색변화를 야기하는 색변화 염료 물질이 사용 중 제품에서 탈착되지 않으며, 공기 중에 노출되는 면적을 극대화시키고, 1차원 나노섬유 구조에 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 동시에 포함되며, 그러한 나노섬유 구조가 서로 다발 형태로 얽혀서 3 차원 네트워크 구조를 이룸으로써 형성되는 독립형의 가스 지시용 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서 및 그 제조 방법을 제공할 수 있다.
나노섬유 내부 및 표면에 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질이 결착됨에 따라 이온성 액체를 통해 특정 가스 분자의 용해도롤 높여 가스의 흡착특성을 향상시킬 수 있고, 표면에 흡착된 가스 분자와의 표면 화학반응을 통해 색변화를 야기하는 색변화 염료 물질의 함량을 최소화함으로써 환경 오염에 대한 문제를 줄일 수 있고, 극미량의 특정 가스 분자를 검출해 낼 수 있는 색변화 가스센서 및 그 제조 방법을 제공할 수 있다.
일 측면에 있어서, 고분자를 용매에 용해시킨 고분자 용액에 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질을 혼합하여 전기방사용액을 제조하고, 전기방사용액을 색변화 염료 물질의 녹는점 이상의 온도에서 교반한 후, 급속 냉각 공정을 통해 색변화 염료 물질이 미세 결정으로 재결정화되어 분산된 전기방사용액을 제조한다. 상기 전기방사용액을 사용한 전기방사 공정을 통해, 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 고르게 결착된 복합 고분자 나노섬유 구조체를 제조할 수 있다. 이 때, 다중 전기방사 기법 및 집전체의 회전을 통해 복합 고분자 나노섬유를 얀 구조로 감아 실 형태의 독립형 센서를 제조할 수 있다.
실시예에 따른 가스 지시용 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서의 제조 방법은, (a) 고분자를 용매에 용해시킨 고분자 용액에 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질을 혼합한 혼합용액을 제조하는 단계; (b) 고온교반 과정을 통해 상기 혼합용액 내에서 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질을 용해시키는 단계; (c) 상기 이온성 액체 및 상기 색변화 염료 물질이 용해된 상기 혼합용액에 대한 급랭 과정을 통해 미세 결정으로 응고된 염료를 포함하는 전기방사용액을 제조하는 단계; (d) 이중 전기방사 공정을 이용하여 상기 이온성 액체 및 상기 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 1차원 고분자 나노섬유를 제조하고 상기 1차원 고분자 나노섬유를 얀 형상의 3차원 네트워크 구조의 나노섬유로 제조하는 단계; (e) 상기 얀 형상의 3차원 네트워크 구조의 나노섬유를 와인더를 이용하여 실 형태로 감아 수집하는 단계를 포함한다.
상기 (a) 단계는, 고분자가 용해된 고분자 용액에 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질을 넣어주어 전기방사용액을 제조하는 단계로, 상기 고분자는 폴리퍼퓨릴알콜(PPFA), 폴리메틸 메타크릴레이트(PMMA, polymethyl methacrylate), 폴리아크릴 공중합체, 폴리비닐 아세테이트(PVAc, polyvinyl acetate), 폴리비닐아세테이트 공중합체, 폴리스티렌(PS, polystyrene), 폴리비닐피롤리돈(PVP, polyvinylpyrrolidone), 폴리스티렌 공중합체, 폴리에틸렌 옥사이드(PEO, polyethylene oxide), 폴리에틸렌 옥사이드 공중합체, 폴리카보네이트(PC), 폴리비닐클로라이드(PVC, polyvinyl chloride), 폴 리프로필렌옥사이드 공중합체, 폴리카프로락톤, 폴리비닐풀루오라이드, 폴리비닐리덴 풀루오라이드 (PVDF, poly(vinylidene fluoride)), 폴리비닐리덴풀루오라이드 공중합체, 폴리이미드(polyimide), 폴리아크릴로나이트릴(PAN, polyacrylonitrile), 73-49 폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이트(PET, polyethylene terephthalate), 폴리프로필렌옥사 이드(PPO, polypropylene oxide), 폴리비닐알콜(PVA, polyvinyl alcohol), 스타이렌 아크릴로나이트릴(SAN, styrene-acrylonitrile), 폴리카보네이트(PC, polycarbonate), 폴리아닐린(PANI, polyaniline), 폴리프로필렌(PP, polypropylene) 및 폴리에틸렌(PE, polyethylene)으로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 1종 혹은 2종 이상의 혼합물이 사용될 수 있다.
전기방사용액을 구성하는 고분자는 각각의 특정 용매에 중량비 0.1 ~ 90 wt%로의 범위에서 제조될 수 있다. 전기방사용액에 있어서, 용매는 물(deionized water), 테트라하이드로퓨란(tetrahydrofuran), 메탄올(methanol), 아이소프로판올(isopropanol), 프름산(formic acid), 아세토니트릴(acetonitrile), 나이트로메테인(nitromethane), 초산(acetic acid), 에탄올(ethanol), 아세톤(acetone), 에틸렌 글리콜(EG, ethylene glycol), 디메틸 술폭시드(DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide), 디메틸포름아마이드(DMF, dimethylformamide), 73-51 디메틸아세트아마이드(DMAc, dimethylacetamide) 및 톨루엔(toluene)으로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 1종 혹은 2종 이상의 혼합 용매를 이용할 수 있다.

상기 (b) 단계는, 상기 (a) 단계에서 제조된 전기방사용액을 색변화 염료 물질의 녹는점 이상의 온도로 가열하여 색변화 염료 물질을 선택적으로 용해시키는 단계일 수 있다. 이온성 액체가 포함된 고분자 용액 내에 색변화 염료 물질을 첨가하고, 색변화 염료의 녹는점 이상으로 가열함으로써 색변화 염료 물질이 해리되고 이온성 액체가 포함된 전기방사용액을 준비할 수 있다. 가열 온도가 150 °C를 넘어서는 경우, 고분자의 변형 혹은 분해를 야기할 수 있으므로, 가열하는 온도는 50 ~ 150 °C 사이에서 선택되는 것이 바람직하며, 상기 온도 범위 안에서 해리될 수 있는 색변화 염료 물질이 사용되는 것이 바람직하다.
상기 방법 (c) 단계는 상기 (b) 단계에서 제조된 전기방사용액을 25 °C 이하의 온도로 급랭하여 해리되어 있던 색변화 염료 물질을 미세화 및 재결정화 시키는 것을 특징으로 한다. 고온 가열 과정을 거쳐 고분자 방사용액 내에 해리되어 있던 색변화 염료 물질은 급속 냉각 공정을 통해 작은 입자로의 재석출이 일어날 수 있고, 점도가 높은 고분자 및 이온성 액체가 포함된 전기방사용액 내에서 재결정이 일어나기 때문에 미세한 입도를 갖는 색변화 염료 입자가 고르게 분산되어 있는 전기방사용액의 제조될 수 있다.
상기 방법 (d)는 상기 전기방사용액을 전기방사 공정을 이용하여 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 복합 고분자 나노섬유를 방사하는 단계로, 이온성 액체가 나노섬유 표면에 고르게 분포하여 특정 가스 분자를 흡착할 수 있는 환경을 조성해주고, 색변화 염료 물질이 나노섬유의 내부 및 표면에 고르게 결착되어 공기 중에 노출되는 양을 극대화시키는 단계일 수 있다. 색변화 염료 물질과 나노섬유의 결착 강도가 약한 경우, 색변화 염료 물질이 나노섬유 상에서 쉽게 탈착될 수 있지만, 전기방사 공정을 활용하는 경우, 색변화 염료 물질이 나노섬유의 고분자에 의해 구조적 및 물리적으로 감싸지기 때문에 안정성이 매우 뛰어나게 된다. 다중 전기방사 공정 및 집전체의 회전을 통해 나노섬유가 와이어 형태의 지지체에 감겨 최종적으로 얀 구조로 합성됨으로써 독립형 색변화 가스센서로 활용될 수 있다.
상기 방법 (e)는 합성된 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서를 와인더(winder)를 통해 실 형태로 감아 수집하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
다른 일 측면에 있어서, 특정 가스의 흡착을 촉진하는 이온성 액체와 상기 특정 가스의 분자와 반응하여 색이 변하는 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 고분자 나노섬유로 구성되고, 상기 고분자 나노섬유는 와이어 형태의 지지체 상에서 감김으로써 3 차원 네트워크 구조를 형성하고, 독립형 얀(yarn) 구조를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서가 제공된다.
상기 3차원 네트워크 구조는 1차원 형상의 구조를 가지는 상기 고분자 나노섬유가 상기 지지체 상에서 무작위로 얽힘으로써 형성되는 3차원 다공성 멤브레인 구조일 수 있다.
상기 이온성 액체는 상기 특정 가스에 대해 높은 용해도를 가지고, 상온에서 10

-12 Pa의 증기압을 가지고, 전기방사 후에도 증발되지 않고 상기 고분자 나노섬유의 표면에 남아 기능화될 수 있다.
상기 색변화 염료 물질은 직경이 1 nm ~ 1 μm 일 수 있다.
상기 고분자 나노섬유는 직경이 100 nm ~ 10 μm일 수 있다. 상기 얀 구조는 직경이 10 μm ~ 1000 μm일 수 있다.
상기 지지체는 직경이 1 ~ 5,000 μm이고, 50 ~ 3,000 MPa의 인장 강도를 가질 수 있다.
상기 지지체는 Fe, W, Ti, Cu, Ni, Zn, stainless steel로 구성된 군으로부터 선택되는 금속이거나, 면, 마, 견, 모로 구성된 군으로부터 선택되는 천연 섬유이거나, 나일론, 폴리에스테르, 아크릴, 폴리비닐알코올, 폴리염화비닐, 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌, 폴리우레탄, 레이온, 아세테이트 유리 섬유, 금속 섬유로 구성된 군으로부터 선택되는 인조섬유 중 적어도 하나를 사용할 수 있다.
상기 이온성 액체의 중량 비율은 상기 고분자 나노섬유에 사용되는 고분자의 중량 대비 0.1 wt% ~ 100 wt%일 수 있다.
상기 색변화 염료 물질의 중량 비율은 상기 고분자 나노섬유에 사용되는 고분자의 중량 대비 0.1 wt% ~ 400 wt%의 농도 범위를 가질 수 있다.
이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질을 동시에 포함하는 가스 지시용 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서 멤브레인을 형성함으로써, 1) 특정 가스에 대한 높은 용해도를 갖는 이온성 액체가 특정 가스 분자를 선택적으로 흡착하고, 2) 흡착된 가스 분자와 색변화 염료 물질간의 반응성을 증가시켜 최소한의 색변화 염료 물질로 우수한 색변화 성능을 나타내고, 3) 나노섬유가 3차원 네트워크 구조를 이루며 독립형 얀 구조를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스 지시용 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서가 제조될 수 있다.
전기방사 공정을 이용하여 제조한 1차원 나노섬유 구조에 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서는 기존의 가스 감지용 테스트지의 색변화 가스센서에 비해 높은 표면적과 기공도를 가질 수 있다. 이에 따라, 실시예의 가스센서는 1 ppm 수준의 낮은 농도의 가스에 노출되더라도, 수십 초 내로 색변화를 일으켜 환경 유해가스 (예컨대, H
2S, SO

x) 및 사람의 날숨에 포함된 생체지표 가스 (예컨대, CH

실시예의 이온성 액체의 경우 특정 가스에 대한 용해도가 높아 가스의 흡착 특성을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 색변화 염료 물질과의 반응을 촉진해 색변화 감도를 크게 증가시킬 수 있다. 특히, 다중 전기방사 공정을 통해 상기 나노섬유를 독립형 얀 구조로 제조할 수 있음으로써, 가공이 쉽고, 다양한 굴곡을 갖는 표면에 적용이 가능하며, 직조를 통해 옷감과 결합하여 활용될 수 있다.
또한, 제조 비용이 비교적 저렴한 전기방사를 이용함으로써, 대량 생산이 용이하다. 실시예의 색변화 센서는 종래의 가스 감지용 테스트에 비해 높은 비표면적과 기공도를 제공하기 때문에 1 ppm 수준의 가스에 대해 수십 초 이내에 색변화가 일어날 수 있다. 이에 따라, 실시예의 가스센서는 환경 유해가스 및 사람의 날숨에 포함된 생체지표 가스를 감지하는 헬스케어 제품에 활용될 수 있다.
실시예의 이온성 액체는 특정 가스 분자의 흡착을 유도하여 특정 가스 분자와 색변화 염료 물질 사이의 표면 화학반응을 촉진시킬 수 있다. 이온성 액체의 기체 분자 흡착 촉진 효과와 색변화 염료 물질이 공기중에 효과적인 노출에 따라, 최소한의 염료의 양으로 우수한 색변화 성능을 갖는 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질이 기능화된 가스 지시용 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서가 제공될 수 있다.

도 6은 실시예 1에 따라 제조된 고분자 중량 대비 각각 20, 40, 80 wt%의 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)와 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 결착된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서, 및 비교예 1에 따라 제조된 고분자 중량 대비 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)만 결착된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서에 황화수소 가스를 각각 5 ppm에서 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60초 동안 직접 노출시켜 얻어진 색변화 정도를 사진 이미지를 통해 나타낸 것이다.
도 7은, 도 6의 사진 이미지를 바탕으로 보다 정밀한 색 변화의 정량적 분석을 위해, 각 샘플의 노출 시간별 황화수소 가스 노출 전후의 색변화 정도(RGB 변화량)를 정량적으로 나타낸 그래프이다.
도 8은 실시예 1에 따라 제조된 샘플 중 도 6 및 도7의 결과에 따라 가장 색변화 특성이 우수하다고 판단된 고분자 중량 대비 40 wt%의 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide) 및 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 결착된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서와 비교예 1에 따라 제조된 고분자 중량 대비 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)만 결착된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서에 황화수소 가스를 각각 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ppm로 60초 동안 노출시킨 경우와 1 ppm에서의 노출 시간을 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10초로 조절한 경우 얻어진 색변화 정도를 사진 이미지를 통해 나타낸 것이다.
도 9는, 도 8의 사진 이미지를 바탕으로 보다 정밀한 색 변화의 정량적 분석을 위해, 각 샘플의 농도별 및 노출 시간별 황화수소 가스 노출 전후의 색변화 정도(RGB 변화량)를 정량적으로 나타낸 것이다.
도 10은 실시예 1에 따라 제조된 샘플 중 가장 색변화 성능이 우수하다고 판단된 고분자 중량 대비 40 wt%의 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide) 및 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 결착된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서에, 각각 테들러 백(Tedlar bag)에 포집된 8명의 건강한 사람의 날숨과 1 ppm 농도의 황화수소 가스를 혼합시킨 모의 구취 환자 날숨을 1분 동안 노출 시킨 전/후에 얻어진 색변화 정도를 사진 이미지를 통해 나타낸 것이다.
도 11은, 도 10 의 사진 이미지를 바탕으로 보다 정밀한 색 변화의 정량적 분석을 위해, 각 사람 별 모의 구취 환자 날숨 노출 전후의 색변화 정도(RGB 합)를 정량적으로 나타낸 것이다.

일반적으로, 색변화 가스센서는 특정 가스 분자가 색변화 염료 물질에 흡착하여 화학반응을 통해 염료 물질의 색이 변하기 때문에 특정 가스 분자의 유무 및 농도를 색변화 정도의 정량 분석을 통해 손쉽게 관찰 및 측정이 가능하다. 또한, 특별한 전기장치가 필요하지 않고, 소형화가 용이하며 휴대성이 뛰어나며, 또한 측정 시간이 짧게 소요된다는 장점이 있다. 하지만, 검출 한계 농도가 타 가스센서에 비해 현저히 높기 때문에 이를 개선하기 위한 색변화 가스센서 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다.
기존의 색변화 가스센서의 경우, 색변화 염료 물질이 사용 중 제품 밖으로 탈착되는 것을 방지하기 위해 색변화 염료 물질을 고분자에 단순히 결착시키는 방법을 주로 사용하고 있다. 하지만, 기존 합성 방식은 색변화 염료 물질이 색변화 멤브레인 상에서 고르게 결착되지 않도록 할 뿐만 아니라, 색변화 멤브레인의 비표면적 및 기공도가 잘 발달되어 있지 않아 우수한 색변화 성능을 이끌어내기가 어렵다. 또한, 특정 수준의 색변화 성능을 내기 위해서는 과량의 색변화 염료 물질이 사용되어야 한다. 색변화 염료 물질의 색변화는 비가역적인 경우가 대부분이므로, 색변화 가스센서는 1회용 제품으로 사용되는 경우가 많으며, 다수의 색변화 염료 물질에는 중금속 원소가 포함되므로 환경 오염을 야기할 위험도 있다.
따라서, 색변화 가스센서가 사용화 되기 위해서는 극소량의 색변화 염료 물질을 사용함에도 색변화 염료가 타겟 가스와 효과적이면서 빠른 속도로 표면 화학반응하여 선명한 색변화를 야기할 수 있는 이상적인 환경이 만들어져야 하며, 상기 조건에서 높은 감도와 빠른 반응속도를 갖는 색변화 가스센서가 요구된다. 한편, 헬스케어용 색변화 가스센서의 경우 높은 감도 및 가스 선택성이 필요하다. 색변화 가스센서의 경우 특정 가스 분자가 색변화 염료 물질의 표면에 흡착 및 표면 화학반응을 통해 색변화를 야기하기 때문에 색변화 염료 물질이 타겟 가스 분자와 반응이 잘 일어나도록 기체의 확산이 용이한 열린 구조를 갖는 것이 바람직하다. 이에 따라, 높은 비표면적과 기공도를 갖는 나노구조체를 색변화 가스센서 멤브레인으로 활용할 경우, 단순한 필름형태의 소재에 비해 획기적으로 향상된 색변화 가스센서 감도를 기대할 수 있다.
색변화 가스센서의 일례로, 황화수소(H
2S) 가스 지시용 색변화 가스센서가 있다. 황화수소의 경우 구취에 대한 생체지표가스이며, 정상인에 비해 (50~80 ppb) 구취환자의 경우 1~2 ppm 수준의 고농도의 황화수소 가스가 날숨속에 포함된다. 이 때, 아세트산 납 (Lead(II) acetate)은 황화수소 가스를 선택적으로 감지할 수 있는 색변화 염료 물질이 될 수 있다. 다만, 황화수소 가스 지시용 색변화 가스센서의 경우 검출 한계 농도가 5 ppm 수준으로 매우 높기 때문에 산업현장용으로는 사용될 수 있지만, 헬스케어용 색변화 가스센서 시장에 적용되기는 어렵다는 단점이 있다.
색변화 가스센서의 감도를 향상시키기 위해서는 색변화 염료 물질이 공기 중에 노출되는 표면적을 최대화 하고 많은 반응점(reaction site)을 갖도록 할 필요가 있다. 필름 형태의 색변화 가스센서의 경우, 화학반응이 오직 필름의 표면에서만 집중적으로 일어나고, 필름 내부에 위치한 색변화 염료 물질들은 반응에 참여하지 못하므로, 색변화 염료 물질 사용에의 효율성 및 감도가 떨어진다.
이에 따라, 실시예는 특정 가스 분자의 흡착을 촉진할 수 있는 이온성 액체와 특정 가스 분자와 반응하여 색이 변하는 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서의 제조 방법을 제공한다. 색변화 염료 물질을 3차원의 열린 기공구조를 갖는 나노섬유 얀 기반 멤브레인에 결착시킴으로써 타겟 가스에 노출되는 표면적을 크게 넓힐 수 있으며, 타겟 가스의 확산이 용이하여 2차원의 필름 타입의 색변화 센서에 비해 훨씬 더 짙은 색변화 세기를 기대할 수 있다. 또한, 이온성 액체를 도입함으로써 특정 가스 분자의 흡착 특성을 높여 색변화 염료 물질과의 반응 특성을 촉진시킬 수 있는 고성능의 독립형 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서 및 그 제조 방법을 제공한다.
실시예를 통해서는, 이러한 필름 형태의 물질이 아닌, 다양한 기공을 갖는 나노구조체의 제조 및 이러한 나노구조체가 서로 3차원 네트워크 구조를 이루며 실 형태의 독립형 섬유 형태를 가지도록 하는 가스센서를 제조할 수 있다. 이러한 가스센서는 다양한 굴곡을 갖는 환경에 적용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 옷감과 결합하여 웨어러블 타입의 색변화 가스센서로도 적용될 수 있다.
실시예는 특정 가스 분자와 반응하여 시각적으로 판별이 가능한 색변화를 야기하는 색변화 염료 물질과 특정 가스에 대한 높은 용해도를 가짐으로써 특정 가스를 선택적으로 흡착할 수 있는 이온성 액체를 포함하는 1차원 나노섬유가 서로 얽혀서, 실 형태의 독립형 나노섬유 얀 네트워크 구조를 형성하는 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 (얀 기반) 색변화 가스센서와, 그 제조 방법을 제공한다.
전기방사 공정을 이용하여 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질을 고분자 나노섬유 내부 및 표면에 고르게 결착시킨 복합 고분자 나노섬유가 제공될 수 있다. 다중 전기방사 및 집전체의 회전을 통해 복합 고분자 나노섬유는 코어(core)에 위치하는 와이어 형태의 지지체에 감김으로써 독립형 얀(yarn) 구조의 센서로 제조될 수 있다.
실시예의 나노섬유의 얀은 기본적으로 높은 비표면적과 뛰어난 가스 확산성을 가진 다공성 나노섬유 네트워크로서 형성되며, 색변화 염료 물질을 나노섬유에 고르게 결착시킴으로써 색변화 염료 물질이 공기 중에 노출되는 면적을 극대할 수 있다.
한편, 색변화 염료 물질의 경우 일반적으로 환경에 유해한 경우가 많기 때문에 함량을 최소화 하며 색변화 가스센서 특성을 극대화 시킬 필요가 있다. 즉, 감지하고자 하는 특정 가스 분자와 색변화 염료 물질 사이의 반응성을 높여주기 위한 최적의 환경을 만들어 줄 필요가 있다. 예컨대, 특정 가스 분자의 표면 흡착 특성을 향상시킬 수 있는 물질을 도입할 수 있다. 특정 가스를 선택적으로 흡착할 수 있으면 흡착된 가스와 반응하는 색변화 염료 물질간의 표면 화학반응을 촉진시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 최소한의 색변화 염료 함량으로도 극대화 된 색변화 특성을 기대할 수 있다.
실시예는, 다중 전기방사법을 이용하여 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질이 1차원 나노섬유에 고르게 결착되고, 상기 나노섬유들이 다발로 감겨서 실 형태의 독립형 얀 구조를 갖는 색변화 가스센서 제조 방법을 제공한다. 이러한 제조 방법에 의한 가스센서는 색변화 염료 물질을 복합 나노섬유 표면에 최대한 노출시키고, 이온성 액체를 통해 특정 가스분자에 대한 흡착 특성을 높여 색변화 염료 물질의 반응성을 향상시킬 수 있는 환경을 제공할 수 있다. 따라서, 최소한의 색변화 염료 함량으로도 높은 감도의 색변화 특성을 유도할 수 있다.
하기에서는 실시예 및 비교예를 통하여 실시예들을 보다 상세하게 설명한다. 실시예 및 비교예는 단지 본 발명을 설명하기 위한 것이며, 본 발명이 하기 예에 국한되어 있는 것은 아니다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서(101)의 모식도를 도시하고 있다.
복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서(101)는 고분자 나노섬유(102)가 다발 형태로 3차원 네트워크 구조로 감겨서 이루어진 것으로, 고분자 나노섬유(102)는 특정 가스 분자와 흡착 및 반응하여 색이 변하는 색변화 염료물질(103)과 특정 가스의 흡착을 유도하는 이온성 액체(104)를 포함할 수 있다. 이 때, 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서(101)는 서로 무작위로 얽혀서 이루어진 1차원 나노섬유가 다발 형태로 감겨서 실 형태의 나노섬유 얀 구조를 형성하는 것일 수 있다.
고분자 나노섬유(102)에는 특정 가스와의 흡착 및 반응 후, 가시광선 영역(380-780 nm) 안에서 이루어지는 파장의 주파수 변화, 가시광선 영역에서 적외선 영역 (> 780 nm) 혹은 자외선 영역 (< 380 nm)으로의 파장의 주파수 변화, 적외선 영역 혹은 자외선 영역에서 가시광선 영역으로의 파장의 주파수 변화 또는 파장의 강도 변화로 인해 색상, 채도, 명도, 지각 등의 색변화 특성 변화를 보일 수 있고, 평균 직경의 범위가 1 nm ~ 1 μm인 색변화 염료 물질(103)이 응집 없이 고르게 결착될 수 있다. 색변화 염료 물질(103)은 예컨대, lead(II) acetate(Pb(CH

전기방사 공정을 통해 만들어지는 고분자 나노섬유(102)의 직경은 100 nm ~ 10 μm 범위에 포함될 수 있 한다. 상기에 나열된 acetate 계열의 색변화 염료 물질(103)은 특히 황화수소 가스와 반응하여 특정한 색변화를 띌 수 있는 염료들이지만, 상기에 나열된 염료 이외에도 특정 가스와의 선택적인 반응 결합을 통해 색변화 특성을 야기하는 색변화 염료라면 이온성 액체(104)가 포함된 나노섬유(102)와의 결합에 있어서의 사용에 있어서 제한되지 않는다.
도 2는 본 발명의 실시예 1에 사용된 다중 전기방사를 통한 나노섬유 얀 합성을 위한 장치의 모식도이다.
전기방사 공정을 통해 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 전기방사용액은 서로 다른 두 개의 시린지(syringe)(201), (202)의 바늘(needle)에서 토출될 수 있고, 1차원의 복합 고분자 나노섬유 멤브레인의 형태로 토출될 수 있다. 시린지(201), (202)의 바늘에는 고전압 인가 장치에 의해 강한 전기장이 가해지며, 토출된 전기방사용액은 집전체(203)에 방사된다. 이 때, 집전체(203)의 회전에 의해 코어에 존재하는 실(204)의 표면에 두 곳의 시린지(201), (202)에서 방사되어 나온 복합 고분자 나노섬유가 얀 형태로 감길 수 있다. 감겨진 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀은 와인더(winder)(205)에 의해 감겨서 실 형태로 수집될 수 있다.
고분자 방사용액을 제조할 때 사용되는 용매는 예컨대, 물(deionized water), 테트라 하이드로퓨란(tetrahydrofuran), 메탄올(methanol), 아이소프로판올(isopropanol), 프름산(formic acid), 아세토니트릴(acetonitrile), 나이트로메테인(nitromethane), 초산(acetic acid), 에탄올(ethanol), 아세톤(acetone), 에틸렌 글리콜(EG, ethylene glycol), 디메틸술폭시드(DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide), 디메틸포름아마이드(DMF, dimethylformamide), 디메틸아세트아마이드(DMAc, dimethylacetamide) 및 톨루엔(toluene)로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 1종 혹은 2종 이상의 혼합 용매가 사용될 수 있다.

전기방사를 수행하기에 적절한 점도를 갖기 위해서, 전기방사용액을 구성하는 고분자는 특정 용매에 중량비 0.1 ~ 90 wt%의 농도 범위로 제조될 수 있다. 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질의 중량 비율은 각각 고분자 매트릭스 대비 0.1 ~ 100 wt% 와 0.1 ~ 400 wt%의 농도 범위일 수 있다.
이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질은 고분자가 용매에 용해된 고분자 용액에 분산되어 사용되거나, 혼합된 전기방사용액이 고온교반과 급랭 공정을 거침으로써 색변화 염료 물질이 미세화되어 재결정화된 고분자 용액이 사용될 수 있다.
또한, 고온교반과 급랭 과정에 있어서, 색변화 염료 물질, 이온성 액체 및 고분자가 용매에 녹아있는 혼합 전기방사용액을 색변화 염료 물질의 녹는점 이상의 온도에서 교반하여 색변화 염료 물질을 용매에 용해시키고, 충분한 시간의 교반 이후에 상기 혼합 전기방사용액을 25 °C 이하의 온도로 급랭시키는 과정을 포함할 수 있다.
전기방사 공정에서 전기방사용액을 토출시키는 토출량은 각각 0.1 ~ 100 μl/min의 범위를 가질 수 있고, 이는 방사용액의 점도에 따라 적절히 선택될 수 있다. 방사용액의 농도와 주입속도의 비율을 조절하면 최종적으로 합성되는 나노섬유의 직경을 제어할 수 있다. 노즐(nozzle)과 집전판(집전체) 사이에는 1 ~ 30 kV 범위의 전압이 인가될 수 있으며, 노즐과 집전체 사이의 거리는 1 ~ 30 cm 범위에서 선택될 수 있다. 나노섬유 얀을 합성하기 위한 집전체의 회전 속도는 10 ~ 500 rpm 범위에서 선택될 수 있으며, 합성된 나노섬유 얀은 와인더(winder)를 통해 1 ~ 400 mm/min의 속도로 수집할 수 있다.
이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서는 특정 가스에 노출되는 경우, 개별 섬유표면에서 특정 가스 분자가 이온성 액체 효과로 인해 흡착이 촉진되며, 흡착된 가스 분자와 색변화 염료 물질과 표면 화학반응에 따라 색상 변화가 나타낼 수 있다. 상기 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서는 환경 유해가스(예컨대, H
2S, SO

도3은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 다중 전기방사 공정을 통한 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서의 제조 방법에 따른 흐름도를 나타낸다.
제조 방법은 고분자를 용매에 용해시킨 고분자 용액에 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질을 혼합한 전기방사용액을 제조하는 단계(S310), 색변화 염료의 녹는점 이상에서의 고온교반을 통해 색변화 염료 물질을 용해시키고 후속 급랭 공정을 통해 미세 결정으로 재결정화된 색변화 염료 물질을 함유하는 복합 전기방사용액을 제조하는 단계(S320), 다중 전기방사 공정을 이용하여 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서를 합성하는 단계(S330), 합성된 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서를 와인더(winder)를 이용하여 실 형태로 감아서 수집하는 단계(S340)를 포함하여 구성될 수 있다.
하기에서는 실시예 및 비교예를 통하여 본 발명을 상세히 설명한다. 실시예 및 비교예는 단지 본 발명을 설명하기 위한 것이며, 본 발명이 하기 예시로 제한되는 것은 아니다.
실시예 1: 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질을 포함하는 이중 전기방사 공정을 이용하여 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서의 제조
먼저, 시린지에 주입시킬 전기방사용액을 제조하기 위해, 분자량이 130,000 g/mol인 폴리아크릴로나이트릴(PAN, polyacrylonitrile) 0.75 g을 9 ml의 디메틸포름아마이드(DMF, dimethylformamide)에 용해시킨다. 추가적으로, 각각 고분자 중량 비율 대비 20, 40, 80 wt%의 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)와 고분자 중량 비율 대비 160 wt%의 아세트산 납(Lead(II) acetate)을 고분자/용매 복합 용액에 포함하여 85 °C의 고온에서 12시간 동안 500 rpm의 회전수로 교반하여 방사용액을 제조한다. 충분한 교반을 통해 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)는 해리되고 고분자(PAN) 및 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 용매(DMF)에 녹은 전기방사용액을 약 25 °C의 온도로 급랭하여 해리되어 있던 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)의 미세화 및 재결정화를 유도한다. 상기 고온 교반 및 급랭 공정을 통해 제조된 방사용액은 각각 서로 다른 두 개의 시린지(Henke-Sass Wolf, 12 ㎖ NORM-JECT)에 담아주고 시린지 펌프에 연결하여 각각 10 μl/min의 토출 속도로 전기방사용액을 밀어내어 주고, 방사 과정에서 사용되는 노즐 (needle, 23 gauge)과 나노섬유를 수집하는 집전체 사이의 전압을 각각 12 kV 로 하여 전기방사를 진행한다. 이 때, 토출된 나노섬유는 약 300 rpm으로 회전하는 깔때기 형태의 집전체 상에서 수집되고, 다시 와이어 형태의 지지체위에 100 mm/min의 속도로 감겨 실 형태의 얀 구조로 와인더에 감겨서 수집된다.
도 4는 본 발명의 실시예 1에 따라 제조된 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 고분자 중량 대비 각각 (a-c) 20 wt%, (d-f) 40 wt%, (g-i) 80 wt% 포함되고 동일한 함량(160 wt%)의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 결착된, 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀의 주사전자 현미경 사진이다.
전기방사를 통해 제조된 이온성 액체와 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀의 주사전자 현미경 사진을 통해, 약 400 ~ 600 nm의 직경을 갖는 고분자 나노섬유에 1 μm 이하의 크기 범위를 갖는 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 잘 결착되어 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 특히, 이온성 액체 (Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 함량이 증가함에 따라 평균적으로 나노섬유의 직경이 증가하는 경향을 나타내는데 이는 이온성 액체 (Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 점도가 매우 높기 때문에 전기방사용액의 점도를 증가시켜 토출되어 나오는 나노섬유의 직경이 증가하기 때문이다. 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 함량에 관계 없이 제조된 나노섬유 얀의 직경은 모두 약 600 μm로 동일한 크기를 나타낸다(a, d, g).
비교예 1. 이온성 액체를 제외한 색변화 염료 물질만 포함하는 이중 전기방사 공정을 이용하여 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서 제조
상기 실시예 1 과 비교되는 비교예 1 에서는 이온성 액체를 넣지 않고, 상기 실시예 1과 동일한 양의 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 전기방사용액을 전기방사하여 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)만 고분자 나노섬유 상에 결착되어 있는 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서를 제조할 수 있다. 구체적으로는, 먼저 분자량이 130,000 g/mol인 폴리아크릴로나이트릴(PAN, polyacrylonitrile) 0.75 g을 9 ml의 디메틸포름아마이드(DMF, dimethylformamide)에 용해시킨다. 추가적으로, 고분자 중량 비율 대비 160 wt%의 아세트산 납(Lead(II) acetate)을 고분자/용매 복합 용액에 포함하여 85 °C의 고온에서 12시간 동안 500 rpm의 회전수로 교반하여 방사용액을 제조한다. 충분한 교반을 통해 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)는 해리되고 고분자(PAN)가 용매(DMF)에 녹은 전기방사용액을 약 25 °C의 온도로 급랭하여 해리되어 있던 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)의 미세화 및 재결정화를 유도한다. 상기 고온 교반 및 급랭 공정을 통해 제조된 방사용액은 각각 서로 다른 두 개의 시린지(Henke-Sass Wolf, 12 ㎖ NORM-JECT)에 담아주고 시린지 펌프에 연결하여 각각 10 μl/min의 토출 속도로 전기방사용액을 밀어내어 주고, 방사 과정에서 사용되는 노즐 (needle, 23 gauge)과 나노섬유를 수집하는 집전체 사이의 전압을 각각 12 kV 로 하여 전기방사를 진행한다. 이 때, 토출된 나노섬유는 약 300 rpm으로 회전하는 깔때기 형태의 집전체 상에서 수집되고, 다시 와이어 형태의 지지체위에 100 mm/min의 속도로 감겨 실 형태의 얀 구조로 와인더에 감겨서 수집된다.
도 5는 본 발명의 비교예 1에 따라 제조된 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 고분자 중량 대비 160 wt% 포함된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀의 주사전자 현미경 사진이다.
나노섬유 얀의 직경은 약 600 μm 수준으로 이온성 액체가 포함된 경우와 비슷하지만 (a), 점도가 매우 높은 이온성 액체가 포함되지 않아 전기방사용액의 점도 또한 상대적으로 실시예 1에 따라 제조된 샘플에 비해 낮아 합성된 나노섬유의 직경이 200 nm 수준으로 이온성 액체가 포함된 경우 (약 500nm)에 비해 매우 얇다. 색변화 염료 물질의 경우 상기 실시예 1과 같이 나노섬유의 표면에 울퉁불퉁하게 잘 결착되어 있음을 확인할 수 있다(b-c).
실험예 1. 상기 실시예 1을 통해 합성한 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서 및 비교예 1을 통해 합성한 색변화 염료 물질만 포함된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서를 이용한 황화수소 가스 감지 색변화 특성 평가
황화수소 가스에 대한 색변화 특성평가를 위해서 상기의 실시예1, 비교예1을 통해 얻어진 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서들을 상대습도 80%의 고습한 환경에서 황화수소 가스의 농도 및 시간을 조절해 가며 황화수소 가스에 직접 노출시켜 색변화 특성을 평가한다.
도 6은 상기 실시예 1과 비교예 1을 통해 제조된 고분자 중량 대비 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 각각 20, 40, 80 wt% 포함되고, 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 결착된 나노섬유 얀 및 고분자 중량 대비 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)만 결착된 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서를, 각각 5 ppm의 황화수소에 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60초의 조건으로 직접 노출한 경우에 나타나는 색변화 정도를 나타낸 사진 이미지이다.
도 6의 사진 이미지를 통해 같은 5 ppm의 황화수소 농도에서 노출 시간을 증가시킬수록 색변화의 정도가 점점 짙어짐을 확인할 수 있다. 또한, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함된 센서의 경우 그렇지 않은 센서에 비해 색변화의 정도가 훨씬 짙어짐을 확인할 수 있다. 이는, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 경우 황화수소 가스에 대한 용해도가 높기 때문에 황화수소 가스의 흡착 특성을 향상시켜 나노섬유 얀의 표면에 결착되어 있는 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)과의 표면 화학반응을 통한 색변화를 촉진시킬 수 있기 때문이다. 하지만, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 함량이 너무 증가하게 되면, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 고유의 색에 의해 오히려 색변화가 짙은 갈색이 아닌 옅은 갈색으로 이루어져 색변화 정도에 손해를 보게 된다. 또한, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 함량이 너무 증가하게 되면 전기방사용액의 점도가 너무 증가하게 되어 전기방사가 원활하게 진행이 되지 않기 때문에, 이상적인 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide) 함량이 존재하는 것으로 확인된다.
도 7은 도 6에서 보여진 색변화 이미지의 보다 명확한 색변화 정략적 분석을 위해 도 6의 사진 이미지를 각각 5 ppm 황화수소에 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60초 노출시키기 전후의 색변화 정도(RGB 변화량)를 정량적으로 도시한 그래프이다. 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함되지 않은 센서에 비해 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 각각 고분자 중량 대비 20, 40, 80 wt% 포함된 센서의 경우 각각의 R, G, B 값이 모두 증가하여 RGB 변화량의 합이 커지는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 이를 통해 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 함유된 경우 색변화 정도가 더 짙어짐을 정량적으로 확인할 수 있다. 또한, 도 6의 사진 이미지에서와 마찬가지로, 정량적 분석을 통해서도 적절한 함량(40 wt%)의 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함되었을 경우 가장 짙은 색변화 정도를 나타냄을 확인할 수 있다.
도 8은, 도 6, 7의 결과를 토대로 가장 색변화 성능이 우수하다고 판단되는, 실시예 1을 통해 합성된 고분자 중량 대비 40 wt%의 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide) 및 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 포함된 나노섬유 얀 및 비교예 1을 통해 합성된 고분자 중량 대비 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)만 포함된 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서를, 각각 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ppm의 황화수소에 60초 동안 노출시킨 경우와 1 ppm 의 황화수소에 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10초 동안 노출시킨 경우 나타내는 색변화 정도의 사진 이미지이다.
도 8의 사진 이미지를 통해 황화수소 농도를 1 ppm 에서 5 ppm으로 증가시킴에 따라 색변화 정도가 짙어짐을 확인할 수 있다. 1 ppm 황화수소 농도에서 노출 시간을 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10초로 조절하여 노출시킬 경우, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함되지 않은 고분자 중량 대비 160 wt%의 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)만 포함된 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서에 비해 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 고분자 중량 대비 40 wt% 포함되고 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)이 160 wt% 포함된 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서의 경우 색변화 특성이 훨씬 우수함을 알 수 있다. 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함되지 않은 샘플의 경우 1 ppm의 황화수소에 40초 이하로 노출시킨 경우 사진상으로 색변화 유무가 잘 판별이 되지 않지만, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함된 샘플의 경우 1 ppm의 황화수소에 20초 노출시킨 샘플의 경우에서도 육안으로 색변화 유무가 판단이 가능하여 그 우수성을 확인할 수 있다.
도 9는 도 8에서 보여진 색변화 이미지의 보다 명확한 색변화 정량적 분석을 위해 도 8의 사진 이미지를 각각 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ppm의 황화수소에 60초 노출시킨 경우와 1 ppm 의 황화수소에 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10초 노출시키기 전후의 색변화 정도(RGB 변화량)를 정량적으로 도시한 그래프이다. 도 8의 사진 이미지에서와 마찬가지로, 정량적 분석을 통해서도 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함되지 않은 센서의 경우 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함된 센서에 비해 전체적으로 낮은 수준의 색변화 정도가 나타났으며, 1 ppm의 황화수소에 30초 이하로 노출시킨 경우 색변화에 대한 정량적 분석이 불가함을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면, 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 포함된 센서의 경우 1 ppm의 황화수소에 10초 동안 노출시킨 경우에도 10 이상의 색변화 정도를 나타냄을 정량적으로 확인할 수 있고, 이를 통해 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)의 황화수소 감지에 대한 우수한 촉매 특성을 입증할 수 있다.
실험예 2. 상기 실시예 1을 통해 합성한 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 가스 지시용 복합 고분자 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 가스센서를 이용한 모의 구취 환자 진단을 위한 색변화 특성 평가
구취 환자의 생체지표 가스로 알려진 황화수소 가스에 대한 색변화 특성평가를 위해서 실제 사람의 날숨과 황화수소 가스의 혼합 가스(모의 구취 환자 날숨)를 제조하여 상기의 실시예1을 통해 얻어진 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질이 포함된 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서에 직접 노출시켜 색변화 특성을 평가한다.
테들러 백(Tedlar bag)에 8명의 건강한 사람의 날숨을 포집한 후, 포집된 날숨을 약 1 ppm 수준의 황화수소 가스와 혼합하여 상기 실시예 1을 통해 합성한 샘플 중 가장 색변화 성능이 우수하다고 판단되는 고분자 중량 대비 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 40 wt% 포함되고 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)가 160 wt% 포함되는 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서에 직접 노출시켜 색변화 정도를 평가한다.
도 10은 고분자 중량 대비 이온성 액체(Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bromide)가 40 wt% 포함되고 색변화 염료 물질(Lead(II) acetate)가 160 wt% 포함되는 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서에 8명의 건강한 날숨 및 1 ppm의 황화수소가 혼합하여 제조된 모의 구취 환자 날숨의 노출 전후의 사진 이미지를 나타낸다.
노출 전에는 나노섬유 얀 기반 색변화 센서가 하얀색을 나타내지만 1분간의 모의 구취 환자 날숨 노출 이후에는 갈색으로의 색변화가 나타남을 사진을 통해 확인할 수 있다.
도 11은 도 10에서 보여진 색변화 이미지의 보다 명확한 색변화 정략적 분석을 위해 도 10의 모의 구취 환자 날숨 노출 전후의 색변화 정도(RGB 변화)를 도식화 한 그래프이다. 모의 구취 환자 날숨 노출 전에 비해 노출 이후에 RGB총합의 정량적 값이 감소함을 통해 색변화가 일어났음을 확인할 수 있다. 이 때, 8명 개개인의 날숨 속에 포함되는 황화수소의 농도가 각각 다를 수 있기 때문에, 개인마다 색변화의 정량적 값에 차이를 보이지만 1 ppm 수준의 황화수소 가스와 날숨이 혼합된 모의 구취 환자 날숨 분석을 통해 미량의 황화수소 가스를 매우 빠른 시간에 감지할 수 있는 색변화 센서로서 적용될 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
상기 실험예를 통해 생체지표 가스를 예시로 가스센서 감지소재의 센서특성을 확인할 수 있다.
이상의 설명은 본 발명의 기술 사상을 예시적으로 설명한 것에 불과한 것으로서, 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 본 발명의 본질적인 특성에서 벗어나지 않는 범위에서 다양한 수정 및 변형이 가능할 것이다. 따라서 본 발명에 기재된 실시예들은 본 발명의 기술 사상을 한정하기 위한 것이 아니라 설명하기 위한 것이고, 이러한 실시예에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 본 발명의 보호 범위는 아래의 청구범위에 의해서 해석되어야 하며, 그와 동등한 범위 내에 있는 모든 기술 사상은 본 발명의 권리범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석되어야 할 것이다.

- 특정 가스의 흡착을 촉진하는 이온성 액체와 상기 특정 가스의 분자와 반응하여 색이 변하는 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 고분자 나노섬유로 구성되고,상기 고분자 나노섬유는 와이어 형태의 지지체 상에서 감김으로써 3 차원 네트워크 구조를 형성하고, 독립형 얀(yarn) 구조를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 3차원 네트워크 구조는 1차원 형상의 구조를 가지는 상기 고분자 나노섬유가 상기 지지체 상에서 무작위로 얽힘으로써 형성되는 3 차원 다공성 멤브레인 구조인 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 이온성 액체는 상기 특정 가스에 대해 높은 용해도를 가지고,상온에서 10 -9 ~ 10 -12 Pa의 증기압을 가지고, 전기방사 후에도 증발되지 않고 상기 고분자 나노섬유의 표면에 남아 기능화 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서.

- 가스센서의 제조 방법에 있어서,(a) 고분자를 용매에 용해시킨 고분자 용액에 이온성 액체 및 색변화 염료 물질을 혼합한 혼합용액을 제조하는 단계;(b) 고온교반 과정을 통해 상기 혼합용액 내에서 상기 이온성 액체 및 상기 색변화 염료 물질을 용해시키는 단계;(c) 상기 이온성 액체 및 상기 색변화 염료 물질이 용해된 상기 혼합용액에 대한 급랭 과정을 통해, 미세 결정으로 응고된 염료를 포함하는 전기방사용액을 제조하는 단계;(d) 이중 전기방사 공정을 이용하여 상기 이온성 액체 및 상기 색변화 염료 물질이 결착된 1차원 고분자 나노섬유를 제조하고, 상기 1차원 고분자 나노섬유를 얀 형상의 3차원 네트워크 구조의 나노섬유로 제조하는 단계; 및(e) 상기 얀 형상의 3차원 네트워크 구조의 나노섬유를 와인더를 이용하여 감아서 수집하는 단계를 포함하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 (a) 단계에서, 상기 용매는 물(deionized water), 테트라하이드로퓨란(tetrahydrofuran), 메탄올(methanol), 아이소프로판올(isopropanol), 프름산(formic acid), 아세토니 트릴(acetonitrile), 나이트로메테인(nitromethane), 초산(acetic acid), 에탄 올(ethanol), 아세톤(acetone), 에틸렌 글리콜(EG, ethylene glycol), 디메틸 술폭시드(DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide), 디메틸포름아마이드(DMF, dimethylformamide), 73-51 디메틸아세트아마이드(DMAc, dimethylacetamide) 및 톨루엔(toluene)으로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 적어도 하나를 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 (a) 단계에서, 상기 고분자는 상기 용매에 중량비 0.1 wt% ~ 90 wt%로 제조되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제 15 항에 있어서,상기 (b) 단계는, 상기 색변화 염료 물질로서 아세트산 납 (lead(II) acetate)을 사용하는 경우, 75 °C이상의 온도에서 상기 혼합 용액을 교반함으로써 아세트산 납 삼수화물의 액화를 유도하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 (c) 단계는, 상기 고온교반 공정을 통해 상기 색변화 염료 물질이 액화된 상기 혼합 용액을 25 °C 이하의 온도로 급랭함으로써, 상기 색변화 염료 물질을 재결정화하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 (d) 단계에서,상기 이중 전기방사 공정에서, 방사용액의 토출량은 0.1 ~ 100 μl/min이고, 주사기의 니들(needle)과 집전판 사이에는 1 ~ 30 kV의 전압이 인가되며,상기 집전판은 10 ~ 500 rpm의 속도로 회전되고, 상기 회전에 따라 코어(core)에 위치된 와이어 형태의 지지체에 이중으로 방사되는 1차원 고분자 나노섬유가 감기면서 독립형 얀 구조의 3차원 네트워크 구조의 나노섬유가 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 (e) 단계는, 상기 감겨진 독립형 얀 구조의 3차원 네트워크 구조의 나노섬유를 와인더 (winder)로 1 ~ 400 mm/min 범위의 속도로 감아 수집하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 가스센서는 H 2S, SO x, NO x 및 CO x 중 적어도 하나 및 CH 3COCH 3, C 2H 5OH 및 C 6H 5CH 3 중 적어도 하나를 감지하는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
- 제15항에 있어서,상기 가스센서는 특정 가스에 노출되는 경우, 표면에서 상기 특정 가스와 상기 색변화 염료 물질 사이에서의 흡착 및 표면 화학 반응에 의해 색상 변화가 나타나는 것을 특징으로 하는 가스센서의 제조 방법.
