  • the reinforcement layer 115 includes a glass fiber material having a relatively high density. However, other materials (such as metals, rigid plastics, as non-limiting examples) are possible.
  • the first section l02a, and in particular, the receiving surface 104 is generally planar. However, in some instances, the first section l02a may include a localized thickness in a location corresponding to the opening 106, due in part to a thicker reinforcement layer, as compared to the reinforcement layer 115 shown in FIG. 2.
  • the layer l24a extends along a surface that is generally perpendicular to the uppermost surface. However, the layer l24a may terminate prior to reaching an additional surface that is parallel, or at least substantially parallel, to the uppermost surface. Generally, the layer l24a may extend between a first line l26a and a second line l26b, shown at each end of the first segment l08a. It should be noted that the second segment l08b and the third segment l08c (both shown in FIGS. 1 and 2) may include the same layers, including the same features and configurations of the layers, as shown for the first segment l08a. For example, a layer l24b (separate from the layer l24a) is positioned on the second segment l08b.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif accessoire pour un dispositif électronique portable. Le dispositif accessoire comprend un couvercle avant relié à un couvercle arrière. Le couvercle avant comprend de multiples segments pouvant tourner les uns par rapport aux autres. Les segments comprennent des aimants qui permettent aux segments, par couplage magnétique, de se coupler avec un autre segment ou au dispositif électronique portable. Lorsque le couvercle avant vient en prise avec le couvercle arrière, un utilisateur peut retirer ou détacher un segment du couvercle arrière, ce qui fait tomber les segments restants du couvercle arrière. Dans certains cas, lorsque le couvercle avant vient au moins partiellement en prise avec le couvercle arrière, l'un des segments comprend des aimants conçus pour se coupler à des aimants dans le couvercle arrière, mais pas à des aimants dans un autre segment.
