Abstract

This belt (2) comprises a first strap (8) and a buckle (12) mechanically connected to the first strap (8). The belt comprises a second strap (10), the buckle (12) being capable of being secured to the second strap (10), the first strap (8) comprising a first end equipped with a first fastening means (20), the second strap (10) comprising a second end equipped with a second fastening means (40), each of the first (20) and second (40) fastening means being capable of interacting with a corresponding fastening portion (22, 24) of a garment (6).

Description

Belt comprising a first strap and a second strap

The present invention relates to the field of belts, in particular for clothing such as pants.

A belt is an object and well known in the field of clothing. A belt is a strip of leather, fabric, etc. , worn to fix a garment around the waist or as an ornament.

Generally speaking, a belt consists of a strap and a buckle. The loop is attached to a first end of the strap. The loop is capable of catching at a point near a second end opposite the first end.

However, such belts can be unpleasant to wear because they grip the waist too tightly, especially in the back. In addition, the amount of material required to make a strap is relatively large. This results in a waste of a non-negligible amount of material, all the more harmful since the textiles or leathers constituting the straps are relatively expensive.

The invention aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks.

More specifically, the invention aims to provide a belt improving the comfort of a user and requiring a lesser amount of material.

To this end, a belt is proposed comprising a first strap and a buckle mechanically connected to the first strap.

According to one of its general characteristics, the belt comprises a second strap, the buckle being able to be made integral with the second strap, the first strap comprising a first end provided with a first attachment means, the second strap comprising a second end provided with a second fastening means, each of the first and second fastening means being able to cooperate with a corresponding fastening part of a garment. By providing a second strap and fastening means, it is possible to use a lesser amount of material to make the first and second straps, compared to a conventional belt.

According to one embodiment, at least one of the attachment means comprises a clamp.

Advantageously, the clamp has a maximum retaining force of between 65 kN and 85 kN.

According to another embodiment, at least one of the attachment means comprises a hook.

Advantageously, the hook comprises a junction portion, a first branch and a second branch, the first and second branches being opposite one another and joined to the junction portion, the hook comprising a means for fixing the first connects to the first strap or the second strap.

Such a hook is suitable for a fastening part such as a belt loop of pants or a skirt.

We can consider several variants of this means for fixing.

According to a first variant, the means for fixing comprises an adhesive means, preferably a double-sided adhesive tape located between the first branch and one of the first and second strips, and even more preferably a double-sided adhesive tape capable of supporting 0 , 50 to 0.60 kg / cm ² .

According to a second variant, the means for fixing comprises one or more rivet (s), for example a blind rivet.

Advantageously, the second branch has a length of between 28 mm and 36 mm, and preferably between 30 mm and 34 mm.

A length included in such a range of values facilitates the insertion of the hook into the fastening loop of pants or a skirt without compromising the solidity of the hook or risking the involuntary disengagement of the hook.

Advantageously, the hook comprises an orifice extending over the junction portion, over the first branch and over the second branch, and the maximum width of the orifice equals the width of the junction portion multiplied by a coefficient between 0.58 and 0.61.

Such an orifice makes it possible to limit the amount of material for making the hook and facilitates a folding operation of the hook during the manufacture of the latter.

One can also provide a means of adjusting the distance between the first end and a point of attachment of the first strap to the loop.

Such an adjustment means makes it possible to modify the distance between the loop and the first end so as to be able to center the position of the loop on a garment.

Preferably, the adjustment means makes it possible to modify the distance between the loop and the first end over a travel length of 3 cm to 6 cm.

Such a range of travel lengths is adapted to allow centering of the buckle on the garment for a belt belonging to a size close to that of the user.

Even more advantageously, the adjustment means makes it possible to modify the distance between the loop and the first end over a travel length from 4 cm to 5 cm.

Such a range of travel lengths is adapted to allow centering of the buckle on the garment for a belt the size of the user. It is advantageous to limit the travel length to limit the amount of material used to make the straps and to allow better comfort in using the belt.

According to one embodiment, the first strap has a length between 7 cm and 24 cm and / or the second strap has a length between 14 cm and 31 cm.

Such ranges of values avoid surrounding the entire waist of a user, which improves comfort, without however preventing the waist size from being adjusted.

Advantageously, at least one of the first and second straps is made of leather. Such a material is advantageous insofar as it makes it possible to improve the solidity of the belt.

In another embodiment, at least one of the first and second strips is made of fabric.

Such a material is advantageous insofar as the belt is more easily washable.

Advantageously, the fabric comprises nylon.

Nylon provides elasticity to the fabric to improve the comfort and adaptability of the belt to users with different waistlines.

In another embodiment, the first strap includes a sleeve disposed between the first attachment means and the loop.

In the context of the invention, the incorporation of a sleeve is particularly advantageous. Indeed, it often happens with a belt of the prior art that a sleeve is disengaged from the strap, or even lost. In the context of the invention, the sleeve is retained by the first attachment means and can therefore neither be disengaged nor be lost.

Referring to Figure 1, there is schematically shown a belt 2 according to a first embodiment of the invention. The belt 2 is also shown in Figure 4, worn by a user 4 on pants 6. Of course, the invention is not limited to use on pants, but relates to a belt that can adapt to any other type of clothing, especially a skirt or dress. The belt 2 of this embodiment is a belt for a user having a waist circumference of 100 cm, ie a size 44. Of course, it is not going beyond the ambit of the invention to envisage a belt adapted to another size , in particular a size 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 46, 48, 50.

The belt 2 has two straps 8, 10 and a loop 12. The strap 8 and the loop 12 are shown in detail in Figure 2 while the strap 10 is shown in detail in Figure 3. In this embodiment, the strips 8 and 10 are made of fabric comprising nylon.

With reference to FIG. 2, the strap 8 has one end 14 and one end 16 opposite the end 14. The strap 8 has a jammer stopper 18. The position of the jammer stopper 18 on the strap 8 can be modified, which increases or decreases the length of a reserve portion 19.

The strap 8 includes a clip 20. The clip 20, known per se, is of the type of clips conventionally incorporated on suspenders used in the field of clothing. As will be detailed later, such a clip is particularly suitable for enclosing a strip of fabric of a garment such as a loop 22 or 24 of the pants 6 of Figure 4. The clip 20 is connected to the strap 8 by intermediate a frame 21 receiving the end 16. In this way, a means of fixing the clamp 20 is provided on the strap 8 ensuring that the clamp 20 is always fixed to the end 16.

The strap 8 includes a sleeve 26. The sleeve 26 surrounds the strap 8 and is located between the end 14 and the jammer stopper 1 8. However, one could consider arranging the sleeve 26 between the jammer stopper 18 and the end 14.

In this embodiment, the strap 8 has a length at rest of between 17 cm and 18 cm when the length of the reserve portion 19 is zero. Such a length is suitable for a size 44. In general, whatever size t is chosen from 34 to 50, the range of lengths of the strap 8 is calculated as follows:

[17 + t - 44; 18 + t - 44]

The loop 12 consists of a frame 28 and a finger 30. Such a loop is known per se and similar to loops incorporated on belts of the prior art. The frame 28 of the loop 12 is fixed to the end 14 by sewing.

Referring to Figure 3, the strap 10 includes one end 32 and one end 34 opposite the end 32. The strap 10 includes a cleat 36 similar to the cleat 18. The cleat 36 allows to change the length of a portion of reserve 38.

At the end 32, the strap 10 comprises a clamp 40 similar to the clamp 20. Like the clamp 20, the clamp 40 is particularly suitable for cooperating with a strip of fabric such as the loops 22 and 24. In this embodiment, the clamps 20 and 40 are designed to support a maximum retaining force of between 65 kN and 85 kN and preferably to support a maximum mass of between 7 kg and 8 kg.

The strap 10 has a through hole 42 disposed in the vicinity of the end 34. The length of the strap 10 is between 24 cm and 25 cm when the length of the reserve portion 38 is zero. As for the length of the strap 8, this value range is specific to a size 44 and can be generalized to any size t between 34 and 50 by applying the formula:

[24 + t— 44; 25 + t— 44]

To use the belt 2, the user 4 fixes the strap 8 to the pants 6 by tightening the clamp 20 on the loop 22. Then, he adjusts the position of the loop 12 by means of the cleat cleat 1 8. To bring the loop 12 closer from passer-by 22, user 4 increases the length of the reserve portion 19, and vice versa. When the loop 12 is centered on the pants 6, the user 4 fixes the strap 10 on the pants 6 by tightening the clamp 40 on the loop 24. Then, he adjusts the length of the strap 10 by means of the cleat cleat 36 to adapt the belt 2 to your waist. To increase the distance between the end 32 and the orifice 42, the user decreases the length of the reserve portion 38. Then, the user 4 inserts the strap 10 into the frame 28 then into the sleeve 26 so as to insert finger 30 into hole 42. In this way, the belt 2 is tightened on the pants 6.

Referring to Figure 5, there is shown a belt 44 according to a second embodiment of the invention. Identical elements have the same references. The belt 44 comprises two straps 45, 46 and a buckle 48. In this embodiment, the straps 45 and

46 are made of leather.

Referring to Figures 6 and 7, the strap 45 has one end 50 and one end 52 opposite the end 50. As in the first embodiment, whatever the size t chosen from 34 to 50, the range of lengths of strap 45 is calculated as follows:

[17 + t - 44; 18 + t - 44]

The strap 45 has a sleeve 54 similar to the sleeve 26. The sleeve 54 surrounds the strap 45 and is located between the end 50 and the loop 48.

The loop 48 comprises, like the loop 12, a frame 28 and a finger 30. The frame 28 is connected by a pivot link around an axis 56 with an intermediate piece 58. With reference to FIG. 7, the piece 58 has a body 60, a trigger guard 62 and a flap 64. The body 60 forms a space 61 intended to receive a part of the strap 45 and more particularly the end 52. The flap 64 can pivot relative to the body 60 about an axis 66 parallel to the axis 56. The flap 64 also comprises at least one, in this case six peaks 68 placed so as to come into the strap 45 when it is received in the space 61 and the flap 64 is in the folded position.

Referring to Figure 8, the strap 46 has one end 70 and one end 72 opposite the end 70. The strap 46 has a plurality of through holes 74. The holes 74, in this case four in number, are succeed regularly along the longitudinal direction of the strap 46. As in the first embodiment, whatever a size t chosen from 34 to 50, the length range of the strap 46 is calculated as follows:

[24 + t— 44; 25 + t— 44]

Each of the straps 45 and 46 has a hook 76 at its respective end 50 and 70. The hooks 76 are metal parts obtained by bending. FIG. 10 represents a hook 76 in an unfolded state during an unfinished stage of its manufacture. FIG. 9 represents a hook 76 in a folded state and incorporated on the strap 46. The hooks 76 of the strips 45 and 46 being of substantially identical design, reference will be made to the description of the hook of the strap 46 for the description of the hook of lanyard 45.

The hook 76 has two branches 78, 80 and a junction portion 82. The branch 78 is connected to the portion 82 at a fold line 84. The width l ₈₂ of the portion 82 is substantially constant. The branch 80 is connected to the portion 82 at a fold line 86. The fold lines 84 and 86 are shown schematically in Figure 10 by dotted lines.

The hook 76 has an orifice 88. The orifice 88 is through. The orifice 88 extends over the branch 78, over the branch 80 and over the portion 82. The orifice 88 has substantially the shape of two half-ellipses sharing the same minor axis. The length Es of this minor axis, which corresponds to the width of the orifice 88, equals the product of the width l ₈ 2 by a coefficient between 0.58 and 0.61. Referring to Figure 9, a double-sided adhesive tape 90 is interposed between the strap 46 and the hook 76. The tape 90 is cut so as to have a shape corresponding to the shape of the branch 78. The adhesive power of the ribbon 90 is chosen so that the maximum mass that the hook can support is between 5.5 kg and 6.5 kg. In the illustrated embodiment, in which an area of approximately 16 cm ² of tape 90 is used, a tape is used having an adhesive power of 3.2 kN / cm ² to 4 kN / cm ² .

To make the hook 76, the branches 78 and 80 are obtained by folding along the lines 84 and 86. The branch 78 is then fixed, in this case glued to the strap 46 by means of the tape 90. The fixing of the branch 78 is made in such a way that the connection portion 62 faces the end 70.

The branch 80 has a length Lso of between 30 mm and 34 mm. A length Lso contained in this range makes it possible to facilitate the insertion of a strip of fabric such as the loops 22 or 24 in the hook 76 without compromising the solidity of the hook 76 or risking an involuntary disengagement of the hook 76, even before that the strap 46 is attached to the loop 48.

In an alternative embodiment not shown, rivets can be used to fix the branch 78 to the strap 46. The rivets used can be of different types, for example blind rivets also known by the trade name "pop" rivets. A particularly suitable width of the rivets used is between 7 mm and 8 mm. Such rivets can be used to replace or complement the tape 90.

To use the belt 44, a user 4 fixes the strap 45 to the pants 6 by inserting the strap 22 into the hook 76 of the strap 45. More specifically, the strap 22 is inserted between the branches 78 and 80. Next, the user 4 pivots the flap 64 from its folded position to adjust the position of the peaks 68 on the strap 45. It can then adjust the position of the attachment point of the loop 48 on the strap 45. When the loop 48 is centered relative to the pants 6, user 4 pivots the flap 64 in the opposite direction so as to insert the peaks 68 into the strap 45 and to immobilize the position of the fastening point of the loop 48 on the strap 45. Next, the user 4 fixes the strap 46 to the pants 66 by inserting the loop 24 into the hook 76 of the strap 46. Then, it introduces the end 72 into the frame 28 and slides the strap 46 into the frame 28, between the body 60 and the trigger guard 62 and in the sleeve 54. Then, the user 4 inserts the finger 30 into one of the orifices 74 The belt 44 is then tightened.

In the first embodiment, the cleat cleat 1 8 constitutes a means of adjusting the distance between the end 16 and the point of attachment of the strap 8 with the loop 12. In the second embodiment, the intermediate piece 58 makes it possible to implement this adjustment of the distance between the end 50 and the point of attachment of the strap 45 to the loop 48. Of course, it is without departing from the scope of the invention to envisage inverting these means d adjustment in the different embodiments, that is to say using the adjustment means of the second embodiment for the first embodiment and vice versa.

Similarly, it is possible without departing from the scope of the invention to envisage a belt having a strap made of a first material, for example leather, and a strap made of a second material different from the first material, for example fabric .

Although an embodiment has been presented in which the two attachment means are constituted by pliers and an embodiment in which the two attachment means are constituted by hooks, it is not beyond the scope of the invention by considering a belt comprising a fastening means being a clamp and a fastening means being a hook.

In view of the above, the belt according to the embodiments of the invention makes it possible to improve the comfort of a user while limiting the amount of material used to constitute the straps.

Claims

1. Belt (2, 44) comprising a first strap (8, 45), a buckle (12, 48) mechanically connected to the first strap (8, 45), characterized in that it comprises a second strap (10, 46) , the loop (12, 48) being able to be made integral with the second strap (10, 46), the first strap (8, 45) comprising a first end (16, 50) provided with a first attachment means (20, 76), the second strap (10, 46) comprising a second end (32, 70) provided with a second fastening means (40, 76), each of the first (20, 76) and second (40 , 76) attachment means being able to cooperate with a corresponding attachment part (22, 24) of a garment (6).

2. Belt (2) according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the fastening means comprises a clamp (20, 40).

3. Belt (2) according to claim 2, wherein the clamp (20, 40) has a maximum retaining force between 65 kN and 85 kN.

4. Belt (44) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein at least one of the attachment means comprises a hook (76).

Belt (44) according to claim 4, wherein the hook (76) comprises a junction portion (82), a first branch (78) and a second branch (80), the first (78) and second (80 ) branches facing each other and joined to the junction portion (82), the hook (76) comprising means for fixing the first branch (78) to the first strap (45) or to the second strap (46).

6. Belt (44) according to claim 5, wherein the second branch (80) has a length (L ₈₀ ) between 28 mm and 36 mm, and preferably between 30 mm and 34 mm.

Belt (44) according to claim 5 or 6, wherein the hook (76) comprises an orifice (88) extending over the joining portion (82), on the first branch (78) and on the second branch (80), and in which the maximum width (l ₈ s) of the orifice (88) equals the width (l ₈₂ ) of the junction portion (82) multiplied by a coefficient between 0.58 and 0.61 .

8. Belt (2, 44) according to any one of claims 1 to 7, comprising means for adjusting the distance between the first end (16, 50) and a point of attachment of the first strap (8, 45 ) at the loop (12, 46).

9. Belt (2, 44) according to any one of claims 1 to 8, in which the first strap (8, 45) has a length of between 7 cm and 24 cm and / or in which the second strap (10, 46) has a length of between 14 cm and 31 cm.

10. Belt (2, 44) according to any one of claims 1 to 9, in which at least one of the first (45) and second (46) straps is made of leather, or in which at least one of the first (8) and second (10) straps are made of fabric, the fabric preferably comprising nylon.
