Description

안테나 구조체 및 이를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치
본 발명은 안테나 구조체 및 이를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다. 보다 상세하게는, 전극 및 유전층을 포함하는 안테나 구조체 및 이를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다.
최근 정보화 사회가 발전함에 따라 와이 파이(Wi-Fi), 블루투스(Bluetooth) 등과 같은 무선 통신 기술이 디스플레이 장치와 결합되어, 예를 들면 스마트폰 형태로 구현되고 있다. 이 경우, 안테나가 상기 디스플레이 장치에 결합되어 통신 기능이 수행될 수 있다.
최근 이동통신 기술이 진화하면서, 초고주파 대역의 통신을 수행하기 위한 안테나가 상기 디스플레이 장치에 결합될 필요가 있다.
또한, 안테나가 탑재되는 디스플레이 장치가 보다 얇아지고 경량화됨에 따라, 상기 안테나가 차지하는 공간 역시 감소할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제한된 공간 안에서 고주파, 광대역 신호 송수신이 동시에 구현되기에는 한계가 있다.
따라서, 상기 박형 디스플레이 장치에 필름 또는 패치 형태로 안테나가 적용될 필요가 있으며, 상술한 고주파 통신 구현을 위해서는 박형 구조에도 불구하고 방사 특성의 신뢰성 확보를 위한 연구가 필요하다.
예를 들면, 전력 분배기를 통해 안테나에 전력이 공급될 때, 전력이 분배되는 도선으로부터 의도치 않은 방사가 일어날 수 있다. 이로 인해, 노이즈가 발생할 수 있으며, 안테나의 방사 효율이 감소할 수 있다.
예를 들면, 한국공개특허 제2013-0095451호는 디스플레이 패널에 일체화된 안테나를 개시하고 있으나, 상술한 문제점들에 대한 대안은 제공하지 못하고 있다.
본 발명의 일 과제는 향상된 신호 효율성 및 신뢰성을 갖는 안테나 구조체를 제공하는 것이다.
본 발명의 일 과제는 향상된 신호 효율성 및 신뢰성을 갖는 안테나 구조체를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치를 제공하는 것이다.

본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 안테나 구조체에 있어서, 연성 회로 기판의 급전 배선층 상에 그라운드 플레이트가 형성될 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선으로부터 발생하는 방사 신호를 감소시킬 수 있으며, 상기 방사를 차폐할 수 있다. 따라서, 방사 전극에서의 공진 주파수 변동, 방사 특성 교란 등을 방지하여 방사 및 신호 신뢰성을 형성시킬 수 있으며, 방사효율을 증가시킬 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 방사 전극을 비롯한 안테나 구조체의 각 부재를 메쉬 구조로 형성하여, 안테나 구조체의 투명도를 향상시킬 수 있으며, 안테나 구조체가 외부에서 시인되는 것을 감소시킬 수 있다.
상기 안테나 구조체는 3G 이상, 예를 들면 5G 고주파 대역의 송수신이 가능한 이동 통신 기기를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치에 적용되어 방사 특성 및 투과도와 같은 광학 특성을 함께 향상시킬 수 있다.

본 발명의 실시예들의 안테나 구조체는 유전층, 유전층 상면 상에 배치되며 방사 전극, 전송 선로 및 그라운드 패드를 포함하는 상부 전극층, 및 유전층의 저면 상에 배치된 하부 그라운드 층을 포함하는 필름 안테나 및 코어층, 코어층의 저면 상에 배치되며 전송 선로와 전기적으로 연결되는 급전 배선층, 및 코어층의 상면 상에 배치되며 급전 배선층과 평면 방향에서 중첩되어 배치되는 그라운드 플레이트를 포함하는 연성 회로 기판을 포함한다. 그라운드 플레이트를 통해 급전 배선으로부터 발생하는 방사 신호를 차폐할 수 있으며, 안테나의 노이즈를 억제하고 방사 효율을 증가시킬 수 있다.
상기 필름 안테나는 예를 들면, 투명 필름 형태로 제작되는 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나(microstrip patch antenna)일 수 있다. 상기 안테나 구조체는 예를 들면, 3G 내지 5G 이동통신을 위한 통신 기기에 적용될 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 실시예들은 상기 안테나 구조체를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치를 제공한다.

유전층(120)은 예를 들면, 접힐 수 있는 유연성을 갖는 투명 수지 물질을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 유전층(120)은 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트, 폴리에틸렌이소프탈레이트, 폴리에틸렌나프탈레이트, 폴리부틸렌테레프탈레이트 등의 폴리에스테르계 수지; 디아세틸셀룰로오스, 트리아세틸셀룰로오스 등의 셀룰로오스계 수지; 폴리카보네이트계 수지; 폴리메틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 폴리에틸(메타)아크릴레이트 등의 아크릴계 수지; 폴리스티렌, 아크릴로니트릴-스티렌 공중합체 등의 스티렌계 수지; 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌, 시클로계 또는 노보넨 구조를 갖는 폴리올레핀, 에틸렌-프로필렌 공중합체 등의 폴리올레핀계 수지; 염화비닐계 수지; 나일론, 방향족 폴리아미드 등의 아미드계 수지; 이미드계 수지; 폴리에테르술폰계 수지; 술폰계 수지; 폴리에테르에테르케톤계 수지; 황화 폴리페닐렌계 수지; 비닐알코올계 수지; 염화비닐리덴계 수지; 비닐부티랄계 수지; 알릴레이트계 수지; 폴리옥시메틸렌계 수지; 에폭시계 수지 등의 열가소성 수지를 포함할 수 있다. 이들은 단독으로 혹은 2 이상이 조합되어 사용될 수 있다.
또한, (메타)아크릴계, 우레탄계, 아크릴우레탄계, 에폭시계, 실리콘계 등의 열경화성 수지 또는 자외선 경화형 수지로 된 투명 필름이 유전층(120)으로 활용될 수도 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 또한, 광학 투명 점착제(Optically clear Adhesive: OCA), 광학 투명 수지(Optically Clear Resin: OCR) 등과 같은 점접착 필름이 유전층(120)에 포함될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 유전층(120)은 실리콘 산화물, 실리콘 질화물, 실리콘 산질화물 등과 같은 무기 절연 물질을 포함할 수도 있다.
유전층(120)에 의해 상부 전극층(130) 및 하부 그라운드 층(110) 사이에서 정전용량(capacitance) 또는 인덕턴스(inductance)가 형성되어, 상기 필름 안테나가 구동 혹은 센싱할 수 있는 주파수 대역이 조절될 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 유전층(120)의 유전율은 약 1.5 내지 12 범위로 조절될 수 있다. 상기 유전율이 약 12를 초과하는 경우, 구동 주파수가 지나치게 감소하여, 원하는 고주파 대역에서의 구동이 구현되지 않을 수 있다.
상부 전극층(130)은 유전층(120)의 상면 상에 배치될 수 있다. 상부 전극층(130)은 상기 필름 안테나의 방사 전극(132), 방사 전극(132)과 전기적으로 연결된 전송 선로(134) 및 그라운드 패드(138)를 포함할 수 있다.
방사 전극(132)은 방사 신호를 송수신할 수 있다. 전송 선로(134)는 일단이 방사 전극(132)과 일체로 연결될 수 있으며, 방사 전극(132)으로부터 분기되어 연장될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 전송 선로(134)는 방사 전극(132)의 중앙부로부터 그라운드 패드(138) 쪽으로 연장될 수 있다. 그리고, 전송 선로(134)의 타단은 신호 패드(136)로 제공될 수 있다. 또한, 신호 패드(136) 또는 전송 선로(134)는 급전 배선층(220)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 집적 회로 칩(260)으로부터 방사 전극(132)에 공급되는 전기 신호를 접수할 수 있다.
그라운드 패드(138)는 전송 선로(134)의 말단부 또는 신호 패드(136) 주변에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 그라운드 패드(138)는 리세스(recess)를 포함하며, 전송 선로(134)의 상기 말단부 또는 신호 패드(136)가 상기 리세스 내로 삽입될 수 있다. 일 실시예에 있어서, 전송 선로(134)의 상기 말단부 또는 신호 패드(136)는 그라운드 패드(138)와 이격된 채로 상기 리세스 내에서 그라운드 패드(138)와 인접하게 배치될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 한 쌍의 그라운드 패드들 사이에 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)가 배치될 수 있다.
그라운드 패드(138)가 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136) 주변에 배치됨에 따라, 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)를 통한 방사 신호 수신시 발생되는 노이즈가 효율적으로 필터링 혹은 감소될 수 있다.
유전층(120)의 저면 상에는 하부 그라운드 층(110)이 배치될 수 있다. 예시적인 실시예들에 따르면, 하부 그라운드 층(110)은 상기 안테나 구조체의 그라운드 층으로 제공될 수 있다.
도 1 내지 3에 도시된 바와 같이, 하부 그라운드 층(110)은 평면 상에서 상부 전극층(예를 들면, 방사 전극(132)) 보다 넓은 면적을 가질 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 하부 그라운드 층(110)의 상기 제1 방향 및 제2 방향으로의 길이는 각각 상부 전극층(130)보다 클 수 있다.
일 실시예에 있어서, 상기 안테나 구조체가 포함되는 디스플레이 장치의 도전성 부재가 하부 그라운드 층(110)(예를 들면, 그라운드 층)으로 제공될 수도 있다. 상기 도전성 부재는 예를 들면, 디스플레이 패널에 포함된 박막 트랜지스터(TFT)의 게이트 전극, 스캔 라인 또는 데이터 라인과 같은 각종 배선, 또는 화소 전극, 공통 전극과 같은 각종 전극 등을 포함할 수 있다.
하부 그라운드 층(110)은 그라운드 패드(138)와 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 유전층(120)을 통과(컨택 도는 비아(via) 구조)하는 도전성 부재에 의하거나, 유전층(120) 측면을 따라 연장된 도전성 부재에 의해 그라운드 패드(138) 및 하부 그라운드 층(110)이 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 그라운드 패드(138)로부터 발생할 수 있는 노이즈 또는 신호 간섭을 하부 그라운드 층(110)을 통해 접지, 제거시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 방사 전극(132)의 공진 주파수와 같은 방사 특성의 변동 없이 신뢰성 있는 신호 송, 수신을 구현할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 그라운드 패드(138)는 유전층(120)의 측면을 따라 연장되어 하부 그라운드 층(110)에 연결될 수 있으며, 그라운드 패드(138)와 하부 그라운드 층(110)이 일체로서 형성될 수 있다. 따라서, 유전층에 컨택 또는 비아를 형성하는 경우에 비하여 유전층을 박막화 할 수 있어 안테나 구조체의 박막화를 구현할 수 있다.
하부 그라운드 층(110)은 평면 상에서 상부 전극층(130) 또는 방사 전극(132)을 전체적으로 포괄하도록 중첩될 수 있다. 따라서, 유전층(120)을 통한 인덕턴스 형성 효율이 증가하며, 그라운드 패드(138)와 연결되어 접지 효율이 향상될 수 있다.
도 2 및 3을 참조하면, 연성 회로 기판(200)은 양면 회로 기판 구조를 가질 수 있다. 예시적인 실시예들에 따르면, 연성 회로 기판(200)은 코어층(230) 및 코어층(230)의 상면 및 하면 상에 각각 형성된 그라운드 플레이트(240) 및 급전 배선층(220)을 포함할 수 있다. 그라운드 플레이트(240) 및 급전 배선층(220)의 코어층(230) 반대면 상에는 그라운드 플레이트(240) 및 급전 배선층(220) 보호를 위한 상부 커버레이(coverlay) 필름(250) 및 하부 커버레이 필름(210)이 형성될 수 있다. 또한, 그라운드 콘택(242)을 더 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 연성 회로 기판(200)은 집적 회로 칩(260)과 급전 배선층(220)을 전기적으로 연결하는 급전 비아(262) 및 그라운드 플레이트(240)와 그라운드 패드(138)를 전기적으로 연결하는 그라운드 콘택(242)을 더 포함할 수 있다.
코어층(230)은 예를 들면, 폴리이미드, 에폭시 수지, 폴리 에스테르, 시클로 올레핀 폴리머(COP), 액정 폴리머(LCP) 등과 같은 유연성을 갖는 수지 물질을 포함할 수 있다.
일부 예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 급전 배선층(220)은 상부 전극층(130) 위에 배치될 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선층(220)의 급전 배선과 상부 전극층(130)의 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)가 직접 접촉되어 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
일부 예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 급전 배선층(220)은 제1 급전 배선(224) 및 제2 급전 배선(226)을 포함할 수 있으며, 상부 전극층(130)과 동일한 레벨에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상부 전극층(130)의 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)가 제1 급전 배선(224)과 접촉하여 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 상기 접촉은 직접 접촉 또는 계면에 ACF를 개재한 접촉을 포함할 수 있다.
도 4는 예시적인 실시예들에 따른 안테나 구조체를 나타내는 개략적인 평면도이다. 구체적으로는, 상기 안테나 구조체를 급전 배선층(220)의 상면에서 유전층(120)의 방향으로 바라본 모습을 나타내는 개략적인 도면이다.
도 4를 참조하면, 상기 안테나 구조체는 유전층(120) 상면 상에 배열된 복수의 방사 전극(132)을 포함하며, 상기 방사 전극과 각각 커플링된 복수의 전송 선로(134), 신호 패드(136) 및 그라운드 패드(138)를 포함할 수 있다. 따라서, 상부 전극층(130)에 복수의 방사 전극(132), 전송 선로(134), 신호 패드(136) 및 그라운드 패드(138)가 배열될 수 있다. 급전 배선층(220)은 제1 급전 배선(224) 및 제2 급전 배선(226)을 포함할 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 복수의 방사 전극(132)은 하나 또는 여러 개의 유전층(120) 및 하나 또는 여러 개의 하부 그라운드 층(110)과 커플링되어 하나 또는 여러 개의 필름 안테나(100)를 형성할 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 따르면, 급전 배선(224, 226)은 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)와 연결될 수 있다. 구체적으로는 급전 배선이 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)와 접촉하여 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선층(220)이 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)를 통해 방사 전극(132)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 상기 급전 배선이 집적 회로 칩(260)으로부터 공급된 전기 신호가 방사 전극(132)으로 이동하는 전력 공급 라인으로 제공될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 제1 급전 배선(224)은 인접한 한 쌍의 방사 전극(132)을 전기적으로 연결하여 커플링 또는 머징(merging)할 수 있다. 다시 말해, 인접한 한 쌍의 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)를 전기적으로 연결할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 제2 급전 배선(226)은 인접한 한 쌍의 제1 급전 배선(224)을 전기적으로 연결하여 커플링 또는 머징할 수 있다. 같은 방식으로, 상부 전극층(130)에 형성된 복수의 방사 전극(132), 전송 선로(134) 및/또는 신호 패드(136)가 서로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 복수의 방사 전극(132)이 하나의 급전 배선층(220)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 복수의 방사 전극(132)은 하나의 유전층(120) 및 하나의 하부 그라운드 층(110)과 하나의 필름 안테나(100)를 형성할 수 있다. 그리고, 복수의 방사 전극(132)은 서로 다른 위상을 가질 수 있다. 이 경우, 하나의 하부 그라운드 층(110)을 통해 위상차 배열 안테나가 구현될 수 있으므로, 신호 송수신의 효율이 향상될 수 있다.
또한, 예를 들면, 각각의 그라운드 패드(138)는 하나 또는 여러 개의 하부 그라운드 층(110)과 전기적으로 연결되어 접지, 노이즈 흡수의 저항이 감소될 수 있다. 하부 그라운드 층(110)은 평면 상에서 상기 복수의 방사 전극(132)을 모두 포괄하도록 충분한 면적을 가질 수 있다. 또한, 각각의 그라운드 패드(138)는 그라운드 콘택(242)을 통해 하나 또는 여러 개의 그라운드 플레이트(240)와 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 급전 배선층(220)과 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)의 전기적 연결은 직접 접촉에 의해 수행될 수 있다. 또한, 급전 배선층(220)과 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)의 계면에 이방성 도전 필름(Anisotropic Conductive Film, ACF)를 개재하여 수행될 수 있다.
그라운드 플레이트(240)는 코어층(230) 상면 상에 배치된다. 그라운드 플레이트(240)는 급전 배선층(220)의 급전 배선(224, 226)에 전기가 흐를 때 발생하는 방사 신호를 차폐할 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선(224, 226)으로부터 발생한 방사 신호에 의한 노이즈를 억제할 수 있으며, 안테나 전체의 방사 효율 및 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 연성 회로 기판(200)은 그라운드 콘택(242)을 더 포함할 수 있다. 그라운드 콘택(242)은 코어층(230) 및 급전 배선층(220)을 관통하며, 도전성 부재로 형성될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 그라운드 콘택(242)에 의해 그라운드 플레이트(240)와 그라운드 패드(138)가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 상기 급전 배선(224, 226)으로부터 발생하는 방사 신호가 효과적으로 차폐될 수 있다. 또한, 그라운드 패드(138), 하부 그라운드 층(110) 및 그라운드 플레이트(240)가 전기적으로 연결되어 그라운드 복합체를 형성할 수 있다. 따라서, 방사 전극(132)과 상기 그라운드 복합체 사이의 정전용량 또는 인덕턴스에 의해 안테나의 주파수가 안정적으로 형성될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 그라운드 플레이트(240)는 급전 배선층(220)의 평면 방향에서 복수의 급전 배선들(224, 226)을 전체적으로 덮을 수 있다. 예를 들면, 그라운드 플레이트(240)가 급전 배선층(220)의 전체 면적 상에 중첩될 수 있다, 다시 말해, 그라운드 플레이트(240)는 급전 배선층(220)의 면적보다 큰 면적을 가질 수 있으며, 급전 배선층(220)을 모두 덮을 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선층(220)에서 발생하는 방사 신호를 효율적으로 차폐할 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 따르면 그라운드 플레이트(240)는 복수의 급전 배선들(224, 226) 또는 급전 배선층(220)을 부분적으로 덮을 수도 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 그라운드 플레이트(240)의 제1 방향 및 제2 방향에 대한 길이가 급전 배선층(220)의 제1 방향 및 제2 방향에 대한 길이보다 각각 클 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선층(220)의 전체 면적을 커버하여 급전 배선층(220)으로부터 발생하는 방사 신호를 억제할 수 있다.
도 5는 일부 실시예들에 따른 필름 안테나가 III-III' 및 IV-IV' 선을 따라 폴딩(folding)되기 전의 모습을 나타내는 개략적인 평면도이다.
도 5를 참조하면, 유전층(121) 상면 상에 방사 전극(133), 전송 선로(135), 신호 패드(137), 그라운드 패드(139) 및 하부 그라운드 층(111)이 형성될 수 있다. 그리고, 유전층(121)이 III-III' 및 IV-IV' 선을 따라 폴딩되어 필름 안테나(101)가 형성될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 그라운드 패드(139) 및 전송 선로(135)는 유전층(121)의 측면을 따라 굴곡되어 유전층(121)의 저면 상으로 연장될 수 있다. 따라서, 신호 패드(137) 및 그라운드 패드(139)의 일부가 유전층(121)의 저면 상에 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 동일한 레벨로 배치될 수 있다.
또한, 그라운드 패드(139)는 전송 선로(135) 및 신호 패드(137)의 적어도 일부분을 둘러싸는 형태로 배치될 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 그라운드 패드(139)는 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 일체로서 연결될 수도 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 연성 회로 기판(201)은 필름 안테나(101) 아래에 배치될 수 있다. 도 6 내지 9는 연성 회로 기판(201)이 하부 그라운드 층(111) 저면에 구비된 경우를 나타내는 도면들이다.

도 6 내지 8을 참조하면, 안테나 구조체는 필름 안테나(101) 및 연성 회로 기판(201)을 포함할 수 있다. 필름 안테나(101)는 유전층(121), 유전층 상면 위에 배치되며 방사 전극(133)을 포함하는 상부 전극층(131), 유전층(121) 저면 아래에 배치되는 하부 그라운드 층(111) 및 상부 전극층(131)으로부터 유전층(121)의 측면을 따라 하부 그라운드 층(111)에 으로 굴곡되어 연장된 전송 선로(135) 및 그라운드 패드(139)를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 그라운드 패드(139)는 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 일체로 형성될 수 있다. 또한, 신호 패드(137)는 유전층(121)의 저면 아래에 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 동일한 레벨에 형성될 수 있다.

도 7 및 8을 참조하면, 그라운드 플레이트(241)는 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 접촉되어 배치될 수 있다. 상기 접촉에 의해 그라운드 플레이트(241)와 하부 그라운드 층(111)이 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 상기 접촉은 직접적인 접촉을 포함하며, 접촉 계면에 ACF가 개재되어 전기적으로 연결된 경우를 포함할 수 있다.

도 9를 참조하면, 필름 안테나(101)는 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 복수의 신호 패드(137) 각 신호 패드(137)와 커플링된 복수의 그라운드 패드(139)를 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 복수의 그라운드 패드(139)는 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 일체로 형성될 수 있다. 연성 회로 기판(201)은 급전 콘택(223)을 포함할 수 있으며, 급전 배선층(221) 내부에 제1 급전 배선(225) 및 제2 급전 배선(227)을 포함할 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 필름 안테나(101)는 복수의 신호 패드(137)는 각각 1:1 매칭되는 복수의 방사 전극(133)을 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 방사 전극(133)이 하나의 하부 그라운드 층(111)을 공유할 경우, 하나의 필름 안테나(101)로 위상차 안테나를 구현할 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 따르면, 급전 배선(225, 227)은 전송 선로(135) 또는 신호 패드(137)와 연결될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 급전 콘택(223)에 의해 급전 배선층(221)과 전송 선로(135)가 연결될 수 있다. 구체적으로는, 급전 배선층(221)의 급전 배선이 급전 콘택(223)과 접촉하고, 급전 콘택(223)이 전송 선로(135) 또는 신호 패드(137)와 접촉하여 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선층(221)으로부터 전송 선로(135)를 통해 방사 전극(133)에 이르는 전기적 연결이 형성될 수 있다. 상기 접촉은 직접 접촉 및 계면에 ACF를 개재한 접촉을 포함할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 제1 급전 배선(225)은 인접한 한 쌍의 방사 전극(133)을 전기적으로 연결하여 커플링 또는 머징(merging)할 수 있다. 다시 말해, 인접한 한 쌍의 전송 선로(135) 또는 신호 패드(137)를 전기적으로 연결할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 제2 급전 배선(227)은 인접한 한 쌍의 제1 급전 배선(225)을 전기적으로 연결하여 커플링 또는 머징할 수 있다. 같은 방식으로, 상부 전극층(131)에 형성된 복수의 방사 전극(133), 전송 선로(135) 및/또는 신호 패드(137)가 서로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 복수의 방사 전극(133)이 하나의 급전 배선층(221)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 그라운드 플레이트(241)는 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 접촉하여 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 그라운드 플레이트(241)는 하부 그라운드 층(111)과 직접 접촉할 수 있다. 또한, 그라운드 플레이트(241)와 하부 그라운드 층(111)의 계면에 ACF를 개제하여 전기적으로 연결되도록 할 수 있다. 따라서, 그라운드 플레이트(241)와 하부 그라운드 층(111)이 그라운드 복합체를 형성할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 그라운드 플레이트(241)는 급전 배선층(221)의 평면 방향에서 복수의 급전 배선들(225, 227)을 전체적으로 덮을 수 있다. 예를 들면, 그라운드 플레이트(241)가 급전 배선층(221)의 전체 면적 상에 중첩될 수 있다, 다시 말해, 그라운드 플레이트(241)는 급전 배선층(221)의 면적보다 큰 면적을 가질 수 있으며, 급전 배선층(221)을 모두 덮을 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선층(221)에서 발생하는 방사 신호를 효율적으로 차폐할 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 따르면 그라운드 플레이트(241)는 복수의 급전 배선들(225, 227) 또는 급전 배선층(221)을 부분적으로 덮을 수도 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 그라운드 플레이트(241)의 제1 방향 및 제2 방향에 대한 길이가 급전 배선층(221)의 제1 방향 및 제2 방향에 대한 길이보다 각각 클 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 배선층(221)의 전체 면적을 커버하여 급전 배선층(221)으로부터 발생하는 방사 신호를 억제할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상부 전극층(130, 131), 하부 그라운드 층(110, 111) 및 그라운드 플레이트(240, 241)는 서로 동일하거나 상이한 도전성 물질을 포함할 수 있다.
예를 들면, 상부 전극층(130, 131), 하부 그라운드 층(110, 111) 및 그라운드 플레이트(240, 241)는 은(Ag), 금(Au), 구리(Cu), 알루미늄(Al), 백금(Pt), 팔라듐(Pd), 크롬(Cr), 티타늄(Ti), 텅스텐(W), 니오븀(Nb), 탄탈륨(Ta), 바나듐(V), 철(Fe), 망간(Mn), 코발트(Co), 니켈(Ni), 아연(Zn), 주석(Sn) 또는 이들의 합금을 포함할 수 있다. 이들은 단독으로 혹은 2 이상이 조합되어 사용될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 저저항 구현을 위해 은(Ag) 또는 은 합금이(예를 들면 은-팔라듐-구리(APC) 합금)이 사용될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상부 전극층(130, 131), 하부 그라운드 층(110, 111) 및 그라운드 플레이트(240, 241)는 서로 상이한 도전 물질을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상부 전극층(130, 131) 및 그라운드 플레이트(240, 241)는 상술한 금속 또는 합금, 하부 그라운드 층(110, 111)은 인듐 주석 산화물(ITO), 인듐 아연 산화물(IZO) 등과 같은 투명 도전성 산화물을 포함할 수 있다.
도 2 및 7을 참조하면, 연성 회로 기판(200, 201) 상에는 집적 회로 칩(260)이 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 집적 회로 칩(260)은 연성 회로 기판(200, 201)에 포함된 회로 또는 배선(예를 들면, 급전 비아(262))를 통해 급전 배선층(220, 221)과 전기적으로 연결되어 급전을 수행할 수 있다. 집적 회로 칩으로부터 공급된 전기 신호는 급전 배선층(220, 221) 통해 전송 선로(134, 135), 신호 패드(136, 137) 및 그라운드 패드(138, 139)에 공급될 수 있다. 따라서, 집적 회로 칩(260)으로부터 급전 비아(262), 급전 배선층(220, 221), 전송 선로(134, 135)를 거쳐 방사 전극(132, 133)에 전기 신호가 공급될 수 있으며, 집적 회로 칩(260)이 방사 전극(132, 133)으로의 급전을 제어할 수 있다. 또한, 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 급전 비아(262) 주변에 절연막이 형성되거나, 그라운드 플레이트(241)와 급전 비아(262)가 접하는 부분에 홀 또는 리세스가 형성됨으로써, 그라운드 플레이트(241)와 급전 비아(262)사이의 전기적 첩촉이 차단될 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 비아(262), 그라운드 플레이트(241) 및 전체 회로의 단락이 방지될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 집적 회로 칩(260)은 연성 회로 기판(200, 201)의 코어층(230, 231) 하부에 배치되며, 급전 배선층(220, 221)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 집적 회로 칩(260)이 급전 배선층(220, 221)과 직접 접촉하여 배치될 수 있으며, 직접 접촉에 의해 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 또한, 접촉 계면에 ACF 등이 개재되어 전기적 연결이 이루어질 수도 있다. 또한, 집적 회로 칩(260)은 급전 배선층(220, 221)과 직접 접촉하지 않을 수 있으며, 이 경우, 집적 회로 칩(260)과 급전 배선층(220, 221)을 전기적으로 연결하는 별도의 연결 라인을 통해 집적 회로 칩(260)과 급전 배선층(220, 221)이 연결될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 연성 회로 기판(200, 201)의 그라운드 플레이트(240, 241)이 코어층(230, 231)의 저면 상에 배치되고, 급전 배선층(220, 221)이 코어층(230, 231)의 상면 상에 배치될 수 있다. 즉, 연성 회로 기판(200, 201)에 있어서, 그라운드 플레이트(240, 241)와 급전 배선층(220, 221)의 위치가 서로 교환될 수 있다. 그리고, 연성 회로 기판(200)이 필름 안테나(100) 상부에 연결될 경우 급전 배선층(220)과 전송 선로(134) 또는 신호 패드(136)를 연결하는 제2 급전 콘택이 구비될 수 있으며, 그라운드 플레이트(240)는 그라운드 패드(139)와 직접 접촉할 수 있다. 따라서 그라운드 콘택(242)이 생략될 수 있다. 또한, 연성 회로 기판(201)이 필름 안테나(101) 하부에 연결될 경우, 급전 배선층(221)이 전송 선로(135) 또는 신호 패드(137)와 직접 접촉할 수 있다. 따라서, 급전 콘택(223)이 생략될 수 있다. 그리고, 그라운드 플레이트(241)는 그라운드 패드(139)와 연결되기 위하여 제2 그라운드 콘택을 구비할 수 있다. 그라운드 플레이트(240, 241)와 급전 배선층(220, 221)의 위치가 서로 바뀔 경우, 급전 배선층(220, 221)에서 발생한 방사 신호 중 안테나 저면 방향을 향하는 방사 신호를 차폐할 수 있다.
도 10 및 11은 일부 실시예들에 따른 안테나 구조체를 나타내는 개략적인 평면도이다. 도 9 및 10을 참조하면, 방사 전극(133)은 메쉬 구조를 포함할 수 있으며, 방사 전극(133) 주변에 더미 메쉬 패턴(190)이 더 포함될 수 있다. 도 1 내지 4를 참조로 설명한 구성과 동일 또는 유사한 구성에 대한 설명은 생략될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 따르면, 상기 안테나 구조체의 상부 전극층(130)은 메쉬 구조를 포함할 수 있다. 예시적인 실시예들에 따르면, 방사 전극(132)은 메쉬 구조를 포함하며, 이에 따라 상기 안테나 구조체의 투과율이 향상될 수 있다. 또한, 일부 실시예들에 따르면, 하부 그라운드 층(110)도 매쉬 구조를 포함할 수 있다. 따라서, 상기 안테나 구조체의 투과율이 보다 향상될 수 있다.
방사 전극(132) 주변에는 더미 메쉬 패턴(190)이 유전층(120) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 더미 메쉬 패턴(190) 및 방사 전극(132)은 실질적으로 동일한 형태의 메쉬 구조를 포함할 수 있다. 더미 메쉬 패턴(190)으로 방사 전극(132) 주변의 전극 배열을 균일화하여 상기 메쉬 구조 또는 이에 포함된 전극 라인이 상기 안테나 구조체가 적용된 디스플레이 장치의 사용자에게 시인되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
예를 들면, 메쉬 금속 층이 유전층(120) 상에 형성되고, 상기 메쉬 금속 층이 소정의 영역을 따라 절단되어 더미 메쉬 패턴을 방사 전극으로부터 전기적, 물리적으로 이격시킬 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상부 전극층(130)의 전송 선로(134), 신호 패드(136), 그라운드 패드(138) 및/또는 하부 그라운드 층(110) 역시 상기 메쉬 구조를 포함할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상기 메쉬 구조는 도 10 및 11과 같이 연성 회로 기판(200)이 필름 안테나(100) 상부에 구비되는 경우 뿐만 아니라, 연성 회로 기판(201)이 필름 안테나(101) 하부에 구비되는 경우에도 같은 형태로 형성될 수 있다. 따라서, 방사 전극(133), 전송 선로(135), 신호 패드(137), 그라운드 패드(139) 및 하부 그라운드 층(111)이 메쉬 구조를 포함할 수 있으며, 방사 전극(133) 주변에 더미 메쉬 패턴이 배열될 수 있다. 또한, 연성 회로 기판(201)의 급전 배선층(221) 및 그라운드 플레이트(241)도 메쉬 구조를 포함할 수 있다.
도 12는 예시적인 실시예들에 따른 디스플레이 장치를 설명하기 위한 개략적인 평면도이다. 예를 들면, 도 12는 디스플레이 장치의 윈도우를 포함하는 외부 형상을 도시하고 있다.
도 12를 참조하면, 디스플레이 장치(300)는 표시 영역(310) 및 주변 영역(320)을 포함할 수 있다. 주변 영역(320)은 예를 들면, 표시 영역(310)의 양 측부 및/또는 양 단부에 배치될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상술한 안테나 구조체는 디스플레이 장치(300)의 주변 영역(320)에 패치 형태로 삽입될 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상기 안테나 구조체의 방사 전극 및 하부 그라운드 층은 표시 영역(310)과 적어도 부분적으로 중첩되도록 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 메쉬 구조를 활용하여 상기 방사 전극이 사용자에게 시인되는 것을 감소시킬 수 있다.
주변 영역(320)은 예를 들면, 화상 표시 장치의 차광부 또는 베젤부에 해당될 수 있다. 주변 영역(320) 내에는 상기 안테나 구조체의 구동 특성 및 방사 특성을 조절하고, 급전 신호 공급을 위한 집적 회로(IC) 칩이 배치될 수 있다.

Claims (17)

  1. 유전층, 상기 유전층의 상면 상에 배치되며 방사 전극, 상기 방사 전극과 전기적으로 연결된 전송 선로 및 그라운드 패드를 포함하는 상부 전극층, 및 상기 유전층의 저면 상에 배치된 하부 그라운드 층을 포함하는 필름 안테나; 및
    코어층, 상기 코어층의 저면 상에 배치되며 상기 필름 안테나의 전송 선로와 전기적으로 연결되는 급전 배선층, 및 상기 코어층의 상면 상에 배치되며 상기 급전 배선층과 평면 방향에서 중첩되어 배치되는 그라운드 플레이트를 포함하는 연성 회로 기판을 포함하는, 안테나 구조체.
  2. 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 전송 선로의 일단은 상기 방사 전극과 일체로 연결되며, 상기 전송 선로의 타단은 신호 패드로 제공되고,
    상기 급전 배선층은 상기 신호 패드와 전기적으로 연결되는, 안테나 구조체.
  3. 청구항 2에 있어서, 한 쌍의 상기 그라운드 패드가 상기 신호 패드를 사이에 두고 배치되는, 안테나 구조체.
  4. 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 연성 회로 기판의 상기 급전 배선층이 상기 필름 안테나의 상기 상부 전극층 위로 배치되는, 안테나 구조체.
  5. 청구항 4에 있어서, 상기 연성 회로 기판은 상기 코어층을 관통하여 상기 필름 안테나의 상기 그라운드 패드와 전기적으로 연결되는 그라운드 콘택을 더 포함하는, 안테나 구조체.
  6. 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 필름 안테나의 상기 그라운드 패드 및 상기 전송 선로는 상기 유전층의 측면을 따라 굴곡되어 상기 유전층의 상기 저면 상으로 연장되는, 안테나 구조체.
  7. 청구항 6에 있어서, 상기 그라운드 패드는 상기 하부 그라운드 층과 일체로 연결된, 안테나 구조체.
  8. 청구항 6에 있어서, 상기 연성 회로 기판의 상기 그라운드 플레이트는 상기 필름 안테나의 상기 그라운드 패드와 전기적으로 연결되도록 상기 필름 안테나 아래에 배치되는, 안테나 구조체.
  9. 청구항 6에 있어서, 상기 연성 회로 기판은 상기 코어층을 관통하여 상기 급전 배선층 및 상기 필름 안테나의 상기 전송 선로를 전기적으로 연결시키는 급전 콘택을 더 포함하는, 안테나 구조체.
  10. 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 급전 배선층은 복수의 급전 배선들을 포함하며, 상기 그라운드 플레이트는 상기 평면 방향에서 상기 복수의 급전 배선들을 전체적으로 덮는, 안테나 구조체.
  11. 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 연성 회로 기판의 상기 급전 배선층이 상기 코어층의 상면 상에 배치되고, 상기 그라운드 플레이트가 상기 코어층의 저면 상에 배치되는, 안테나 구조체.
  12. 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 연성 회로 기판 상에 배치되며 상기 방사 전극으로의 급전을 제어하는 집적 회로 칩을 더 포함하는, 안테나 구조체.
  13. 청구항 12에 있어서, 상기 연성 회로 기판은 상기 코어층을 관통하여 상기 집적 회로 칩 및 상기 급전 배선층을 서로 전기적으로 연결시키는 급전 비아를 더 포함하는, 안테나 구조체.
  14. 청구항 12에 있어서, 상기 집적 회로 칩은 상기 연성 회로 기판의 상기 코어층 하부에 배치되며, 상기 급전 배선층과 전기적으로 연결되는, 안테나 구조체.
  15. 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 방사 전극은 메쉬 구조를 포함하는, 안테나 구조체.
  16. 청구항 15에 있어서, 상기 필름 안테나는 상기 유전층의 상기 상면 상에 상기 방사 전극과 이격되어 배치된 더미 메쉬 패턴을 더 포함하는, 안테나 구조체.
  17. 청구항 1 내지 16 중 어느 한 항에 따른 안테나 구조체를 포함하는, 디스플레이 장치.
