Abstract
Procédé de traitement d'une charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés volatils, lequel procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : a) on met en contact ladite charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils avec un monolithe comprenant de la silice et du dioxyde de titane, ledit monolithe comprenant un volume macroporeux de type I, dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 50 nm et inférieur ou égal à 1000 nm, compris entre 0,1 à 3 mL/g, et un volume macroporeux de type II, dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 1 μm et inférieur ou égal à 10 μm, compris entre 1 à 8 mL/g; b) on irradie ledit monolithe par au moins une source d'irradiation produisant au moins une longueur d'onde inférieure à 400 nm pour convertir lesdits composés organiques volatils en dioxyde de carbone, ladite étape b) étant réalisée à une température comprise entre - 30°C et + 200°C et à une pression comprise entre 0,01 MPa et 70 MPa.

PROCEDE DE CAPTATION ET DE DECONTAMINATION D’UN MILIEU GAZEUX EN PRESENCE D’UN MONOLITHE COMPRENANT DU Ti02 ET DE LA SILICE
Domaine technique de l’invention
Le domaine de l'invention est celui de la décontamination d’un milieu gazeux comprenant des composés organiques volatils au moyen d’un processus photocatalytique.
Etat de la technique
Actuellement, il existe de nombreux procédés permettant la décontamination d’un milieu gazeux, en particulier de l’air, susceptible de contenir des composés organiques volatils (COV).
Une première voie consiste à mettre en contact le milieu gazeux avec un adsorbant (appelé aussi ici masse de captation) constitué principalement de charbon actif. Cependant, l’inconvénient de ce type d’adsorbant est qu’il doit être remplacé périodiquement pour assurer l’efficacité du système.
Une autre voie proposée pour éliminer les composés organiques volatils dans un milieu gazeux, notamment l’air, consiste en la dégradation photocatalytique de ces composés. Aujourd’hui, les dispositifs utilisés, comprenant principalement du dioxyde de titane (Ti02) en tant que phase active, présentent l’inconvénient de ne pas minéraliser totalement ces composés organiques volatils, ce qui peut conduire à un relargage de ces composés potentiellement nocifs dans le milieu gazeux. D’autre part, les systèmes photocatalytiques connus de l’art antérieur souffrent d’une mauvaise stabilité et conduisent ainsi à la nécessité de remplacer les modules périodiquement, ne réglant ainsi pas le problème soulevé par l’utilisation de masse de captation à base de charbon actif.
Par ailleurs, l’une des difficultés des systèmes photocatalytiques existants concerne l’utilisation du matériau photocatalytique sous la forme de poudre. En effet, afin d’éviter la propagation de nanoparticules dans l’effluent à traiter ou pour éviter une étape fastidieuse de nano-filtration, de nombreux travaux ont été consacrés au dépôt de nanomatériaux sur différents supports, tels que le papier, le verre, l’acier, les textiles, les polymères ou encore les matériaux en céramique.
Le document FR2975309 divulgue des monolithes de Ti02 ou Ti02-Si02 autosupportés en tant que photocatalyseurs pour la décontamination de l’air. Cependant, ces deux types de matériaux présentent des faibles niveaux d’adsorption des composés organiques volatils. De plus les matériaux Ti02-Si02, dont le procédé de préparation prévoit l’approvisionnement
simultané du précurseur de Si et du précurseur de Ti, ne présentent aucune activité photocatalytique.
Objets de l’invention
De manière surprenante, la Demanderesse a découvert que l’emploi d’un monolithe à base de silice et de dioxyde de titane, comprenant une structure macroporeuse spécifique, permet d’atteindre des capacités d’adsorption bien supérieures comparés aux adsorbants à base de charbons actifs et aux monolithes poreux connus de l’état de la technique, tout en présentant des propriétés améliorés en activité photocatalytique, en terme de stabilité, et en taux de minéralisation, par rapport aux matériaux photocatalytiques selon l’art antérieur. De manière non-évidente, la mise en œuvre d’un matériaux monolithique selon l’invention permet ainsi de cumuler les deux fonctions des matériaux communément proposés pour l’application de décontamination des effluents à traiter, c’est-à-dire la captation des impuretés contenues dans l’effluent à traiter et leur dégradation, tout en évitant la propagation de nanoparticules dans l’effluent, induisant des gains de performances significatifs.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement d’une charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés volatils, lequel procédé comprend les étapes suivantes :
a) on met en contact ladite charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils avec un monolithe comprenant de la silice et du dioxyde de titane, ledit monolithe comprenant un volume macroporeux de type I, dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 50 nm et inférieur ou égal à 1000 nm, compris entre 0,1 à 3 mL/g, et un volume macroporeux de type II, dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 1 pm et inférieur ou égal à 10 pm, compris entre 1 à 8 mL/g ;
b) on irradie ledit monolithe par au moins une source d'irradiation produisant au moins une longueur d'onde inférieure à 400 nm pour convertir lesdits composés organiques volatils en dioxyde de carbone, ladite étape b) étant réalisée à une température comprise entre - 30°C et + 200°C et à une pression comprise entre 0,01 MPa et 70 MPa.
De préférence, ladite charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils est diluée avec un fluide diluant.
De préférence, la source d’irradiation est une source d’irradiation artificielle.
De préférence, la source d’irradiation produit au moins une longueur d’onde comprise entre 300 et 400 nm.
De préférence, l’étape a) est réalisée dans un réacteur en lit fixe traversé ou en lit fixe léchant.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède un volume mésoporeux, dont le diamètre de pore est supérieur à 2 nm et inférieur ou égal à 50 nm, compris entre 0,01 et 1 ml_/g, de préférence entre 0,05 et 0,5 ml_/g.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède en outre un volume macroporeux, dont le diamètre de pore est supérieur à 10 pm, inférieur à 0,5 ml_/g.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède une densité apparente comprise entre 0,05 et 0,5 g/ml_.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède une surface spécifique comprise entre 10 et 1000 m2/g, de manière préférée entre 50 et 600 m2/g.
De préférence, ledit monolithe comprend une teneur en dioxyde de titane comprise entre 5 et 70% en poids par rapport au poids total du monolithe.
De préférence, ledit monolithe est préparé selon les étapes suivantes :
1 ) on mélange une solution contenant un tensioactif avec une solution acide ;
2) on ajoute à la solution obtenue à l’étape 1 ) au moins un précurseur soluble de silice ;
3) éventuellement, on ajoute à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) au moins un composé organique liquide, non miscible à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) pour former une émulsion ;
4) on laisse maturer à l’état humide la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) ou l’émulsion obtenue à l’étape 3) pour obtenir un gel ;
5) on lave le gel obtenu à l’étape 4) avec une solution organique ;
6) on sèche et on calcine le gel obtenu à l’étape 5) pour obtenir un monolithe à base de silice
7) on imprègne une solution comprenant au moins un précurseur soluble de dioxyde de titane dans la porosité du monolithe obtenu à l’étape 6);
8) éventuellement, on sèche et on calcine le produit obtenu à l’étape 7) pour obtenir un monolithe à base de silice et contenant du dioxyde de titane.
De préférence, on réalise à l’étape 8) un séchage à une température comprise entre 5 et 120°C.
De préférence, on réalise à l’étape 8) une calcination sous air avec un premier palier en température compris entre 80 et 150°C pendant 1 à 10 heures, puis un deuxième palier en
température compris entre 150 et 250°C pendant 1 à 10 heures, et enfin un troisième palier en température compris entre 300 et 950°C pendant 0,5 à 24 heures.

Dans la présente description, on entend, selon la convention IUPAC, par micropores les pores dont le diamètre est inférieur à 2 nm; mésopores les pores dont le diamètre est supérieur à 2 nm et inférieur ou égal à 50 nm et macropores les pores dont le diamètre est supérieur à 50 nm, et plus particulièrement macropores de type I les pores dont le diamètre est supérieur à 50 nm et inférieur ou égale à 1000 nm (1 pm), et macropores de type II les pores dont le diamètre est supérieur à 1 pm et inférieur ou égal à 10 pm.
Dans la présente invention, on entend, selon la directive 1999/13/CE du conseil européen, par composés organiques volatils (COV) tout composé contenant au moins l’élément carbone et un ou plusieurs éléments suivants : hydrogène, halogène, oxygène, soufre, phosphore, silicium ou azote, à l’exception du dioxyde de carbone, et ayant une pression de vapeur de 0,01 kPa ou plus à une température de 273,15 K.
Les volumes macroporeux et mésoporeux sont mesurés par porosimétrie par intrusion de mercure selon la norme ASTM D4284-83 à une pression maximale de 4000 bar (400 MPa), utilisant une tension de surface de 484 dyne/cm et un angle de contact de 140°.
On entend par volume poreux total le volume mesuré par intrusion au porosimètre à mercure selon la norme ASTM D4284-83 à une pression maximale de 4000 bar (400 MPa), utilisant une tension de surface de 484 dyne/cm et un angle de contact de 140°. La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement d’une charge gazeuse comprenant du dioxygène, telle que l’air, susceptible de contenir un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils (COV), ledit procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes :
a) on met en contact une charge gazeuse contenant un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils et du dioxygène avec un monolithe à base de silice et de dioxyde de titane, ledit monolithe comprenant un volume macroporeux de type I, i.e. un volume macroporeux dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 50 nm et inférieur ou égal à 1000 nm (1 pm), compris entre 0,1 à 3 mL/g, de préférence entre 0,2 et 2,5 mL/g, et un volume macroporeux de type II, i.e. un volume macroporeux dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 1 pm et inférieur ou égal à 10 pm, compris entre 1 et 8 mL/g, de préférence entre 2 et 8 mL/g, et encore plus préférentiellement entre 3 et 8 mL/g ;
b) on irradie ledit monolithe par au moins une source d'irradiation produisant au moins une longueur d'onde inférieure à 400 nm de manière à dégrader les composés organiques volatils en dioxyde de carbone.

Selon l’étape a) du procédé selon l’invention, on met en contact le monolithe avec une charge gazeuse contenant un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils et du dioxygène.
La charge traitée selon le procédé se présente sous forme gazeuse, et contient des composés organiques volatils ainsi que du dioxygène. De manière préférée, la charge traitée selon le procédé est de l’air contenant jusqu’à 10 000 ppm de composés organiques volatils. Parmi les composés organiques volatils, on peut citer les familles de molécules suivantes : les hydrocarbures halogénés, les hydrocarbures aromatiques, les alcanes, les alcènes, les alcynes, les aldéhydes, les cétones.
Optionnellement, la charge est diluée par un fluide diluant gazeux. La présence d'un fluide diluant n'est pas requis pour la réalisation de l'invention, cependant il peut être utile d'en adjoindre à la charge pour assurer la dispersion de la charge dans le milieu, un contrôle de l'adsorption des réactifs/produits dans la porosité du monolithe, la dilution des produits pour limiter leur recombinaison et autres réactions parasites du même ordre. La présence d’un fluide diluant permet aussi le contrôle de la température du milieu réactionnel pouvant ainsi compenser l'éventuelle exo/endo-thermicité de la réaction photocatalysée. La nature du fluide diluant est choisie de telle façon que son influence soit neutre sur le milieu réactionnel ou que son éventuelle réaction ne nuise pas à la réalisation de la réaction souhaitée de
dégradation des composés organiques volatils. De préférence, le fluide diluant gazeux est choisi parmi le N2, l’02, ou l’air.
La mise en contact de la charge gazeuse contenant un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils et du dioxygène avec ledit monolithe peut se faire par tout moyen connu de l'homme du métier. De manière préférée, la mise en contact de la charge gazeuse contenant un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils et du dioxygène avec ledit monolithe se fait dans un réacteur en lit fixe traversé ou en lit fixe léchant.
Lorsque la mise en œuvre est en lit fixe traversé, ledit monolithe est préférentiellement fixé au sein du réacteur, et la charge gazeuse contenant un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils et du dioxygène est envoyée à travers le lit photocatalytique.
Lorsque la mise en œuvre est en lit fixe léchant, ledit monolithe est préférentiellement fixé au sein du réacteur et la charge gazeuse contenant un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils et du dioxygène est envoyée sur le lit photocatalytique.
Lorsque que la mise en œuvre est en lit fixe ou en lit léchant, la mise en œuvre peut se faire en continu.
Etape bl du procédé selon l’invention
Selon l’étape b) du procédé selon l’invention, on irradie ledit monolithe par au moins une source d'irradiation produisant au moins une longueur d'onde inférieure à 400 nm de manière à dégrader les composés organiques volatils en dioxyde de carbone par photocatalyse.
La photocatalyse repose sur le principe d'activation d'un semi-conducteur (tel que le Ti02) ou d’un ensemble de semi-conducteurs tel que le photocatalyseur utilisé dans le procédé selon l’invention, à l'aide de l'énergie apportée par l'irradiation. La photocatalyse peut être définie comme l'absorption d'un photon, dont l'énergie est supérieure ou égale à la largeur de bande interdite ou "bandgap" selon la terminologie anglo-saxonne entre la bande de valence et la bande de conduction, qui induit la formation d'une paire électron-trou dans le semi- conducteur. On a donc l'excitation d'un électron au niveau de la bande de conduction et la formation d'un trou sur la bande de valence. Cette paire électron-trou va permettre la formation de radicaux libres qui vont soit réagir avec des composés présents dans le milieu, soit se recombiner suivant divers mécanismes. Chaque semi-conducteur possède une différence d'énergie entre sa bande de conduction et sa bande de valence, ou "bandgap" selon la terminologie anglo-saxonne, qui lui est propre.
Un photocatalyseur composé d’un ou plusieurs semi-conducteurs peut être activé par l'absorption d'au moins un photon. Les photons absorbables sont ceux dont l'énergie est
supérieure à la largeur de bande interdite, ou "bandgap", des semi-conducteurs. Autrement dit, les photocatalyseurs sont activables par au moins un photon d'une longueur d'onde correspondant à l'énergie associée aux largeurs de bande interdite des semi-conducteurs constituant le photocatalyseur ou d'une longueur d'onde inférieure. On calcule la longueur d'onde maximale absorbable par un semi-conducteur à l'aide de l'équation suivante :
Avec Amax la longueur l'onde maximale absorbable par un semi-conducteur (en m), h la constante de Planck (4, 13433559.10 15 eV.s), c la vitesse de la lumière dans le vide (299 792 458 m.s 1) et Eg la largeur de bande interdite ou "bandgap" du semi-conducteur (en eV).
Toute source d'irradiation émettant au moins une longueur d'onde adaptée à l'activation dudit photocatalyseur, c'est-à-dire absorbable par le Ti02, donc inférieure à 400 nm, peut être utilisée selon l'invention. On peut par exemple utiliser l'irradiation solaire naturelle ou une source d'irradiation artificielle de type laser, lampes Arc Mercure Hg, Xénon Xe, Mercure- Xenon Hg (Xe), Deuterium D2 ou Quarte Tungsten Halogne QTH, lampe à incandescence, tube fluorescent, plasma ou diode électroluminescente (DEL, ou LED en anglais pour Light- Emitting Diode). De manière préférée, la source d'irradiation est une irradiation artificielle.
La source d'irradiation produit un rayonnement dont au moins une partie des longueurs d'onde est inférieure à la longueur d'onde maximale absorbable (Amax) par le Ti02 contenu dans le monolithe. Lorsque la source d’irradiation est l’irradiation solaire, elle émet généralement dans le spectre ultra-violet, visible et infra-rouge, c'est-à-dire elle émet une gamme de longueur d'onde de 280 nm à 2500 nm environ (selon la norme ASTM G173-03).
De préférence, la source émet au moins dans une gamme de longueurs d'ondes supérieure à 280 nm, de manière très préférée de 300 nm à 400 nm.
La source d'irradiation fournit un flux de photons qui irradie le milieu réactionnel contenant le monolithe. L'interface entre le milieu réactionnel et la source lumineuse varie en fonction des applications et de la nature de la source lumineuse.
Dans un mode préféré lorsqu’il s’agit d’irradiation solaire, la source d'irradiation est localisée à l'extérieur du réacteur et l’interface entre les deux peut être une fenêtre optique en pyrex, en quartz, en verre organique ou toute autre interface permettant aux photons absorbables par le monolithe selon l’invention de diffuser du milieu extérieur au sein du réacteur.
La réalisation dudit procédé est conditionnée par la capacité d’adsorption dudit monolithe ainsi que par la fourniture de photons adaptés au système photocatalytique pour la réaction envisagée, et de ce fait n’est pas limitée à une gamme de pression ou de température
spécifique en dehors de celles permettant d’assurer la stabilité du ou des matériau(x). La gamme de température employée pour le procédé est généralement de -30°C à + 200°C, de manière préférée de -10 à 150°C, et de manière très préférée de -10 à 100 °C. La gamme de pression employée pour le procédé est généralement de 0,01 MPa à 70 MPa (0,1 à 700 bar), de manière préférée de 0,5 MPa à 2 MPa (0,5 à 20 bar). Le procédé selon l’invention peut être réalisé avec un gaz sec ou humide jusqu’à 100% d’humidité relative, de manière préférée le gaz à traiter contient de 0 à 60% d’humidité relative.
Monolithe
Le monolithe utilisé dans le cadre du procédé de traitement d’une charge gazeuse selon l’invention comprend de la silice et du dioxyde de titane. Ledit monolithe possède un volume macroporeux de type I, i.e. un volume macroporeux dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 50 nm et inférieur ou égal à 1000 nm (1 pm), compris entre 0,1 à 3 mL/g, de préférence entre 0,2 et 2,5 mL/g, et encore plus préférentiellement entre 1 et 2 mL/g. De plus, ledit monolithe possède un volume macroporeux de type II, i.e. un volume macroporeux dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 1 pm et inférieur ou égal à 10 pm, compris entre 1 et 8 mL/g, de préférence entre 2 et 8 mL/g, et encore plus préférentiellement entre 3 et 8 mL/g.
De préférence, le monolithe comprend une teneur en dioxyde de titane comprise entre 5 et 70% en poids par rapport au poids total du monolithe.
Le monolithe peut éventuellement être dopé avec un ou plusieurs éléments choisis parmi des éléments métalliques, tels que par exemple des éléments V, Ni, Cr, Mo, Fe, Sn, Mn, Co, Re, Nb, Sb, La, Ce, Ta, des éléments non-métalliques, tels que par exemple C, N, S, F, P, ou par un mélange d’éléments métalliques et non-métalliques.
De préférence, le dioxyde de titane contenu dans le monolithe peut être sensibilisé en surface avec toutes molécules organiques susceptibles d'absorber des photons.
De préférence, ledit monolithe peut contenir au moins un élément M choisi parmi un élément des groupes VIIIB, IB, MB et NIA de la classification périodique des éléments à l’état métallique et/ou oxyde. De manière préférée, la teneur en élément(s) M à l’état métallique et/ou oxyde est comprise entre 0,001 et 20% en poids par rapport au poids total du monolithe.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède un volume mésoporeux, dont le diamètre de pore est supérieur à 2 nm et inférieur ou égal à 50 nm, compris entre 0,01 et 1 mL/g, de préférence entre 0,05 et 0,5 mL/g.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède en outre un volume macroporeux, dont le diamètre de pore est supérieur à 10 pm, inférieur à 0,5 mL/g.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède une densité apparente comprise entre 0,05 et 0,5 g/ml_. La densité apparente se calcule en faisant le ratio entre la masse de catalyseur et son volume géométrique.
De préférence, ledit monolithe possède une surface BET comprise entre 10 et 1000 m2/g, de manière préférée entre 50 et 600 m2/g, et encore plus préférentiellement entre 100 et 300 m2/g.
Procédé de préparation du monolithe
Le monolithe utilisé dans le cadre du procédé selon l’invention peut être préparé par un procédé de préparation spécifique, dans lequel la synthèse des phases de silice et de dioxyde de titane s’opère lors de deux étapes distinctes. La réalisation de deux étapes distinctes permet notamment d’éviter la formation de composés mixtes de type Si02-Ti02 dans la structure même du monolithe, ce qui engendrerait une perte en matériau photocatalytique disponible.
Selon une variante, le procédé de préparation dudit monolithe comprend les étapes suivantes :
1 ) on mélange une solution contenant un tensioactif avec une solution acide ;
2) on ajoute à la solution obtenue à l’étape 1 ) au moins un précurseur soluble de silice ;
3) éventuellement, on ajoute à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) au moins un composé organique liquide, non miscible à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) pour former une émulsion ;
4) on laisse maturer à l’état humide la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) ou l’émulsion obtenue à l’étape 3) pour obtenir un gel ;
5) on lave le gel obtenu à l’étape 4) avec une solution organique ;
6) on sèche et on calcine le gel obtenu à l’étape 5) pour obtenir un monolithe à base de silice ;
7) on imprègne une solution comprenant au moins un précurseur soluble de dioxyde de titane dans la porosité du monolithe obtenu à l’étape 6) ;
8) éventuellement, on sèche et on calcine le produit obtenu à l’étape 7) pour obtenir un monolithe à base de silice et contenant du dioxyde de titane.
Les étapes sont décrites en détail ci-après.
Etape 11
Lors de l’étape 1 ) du procédé de préparation du monolithe, on mélange une solution contenant un ou plusieurs tensioactifs avec une solution aqueuse acide pour obtenir une solution aqueuse acide comprenant un ou plusieurs tensioactifs.
Les tensioactifs peuvent être anioniques, cationiques, amphotères ou non-ioniques. De manière préférée les tensioactifs sont choisis parmi le poly(ethylène glycol), le bromure de cetyl triméthylammonium, et le bromure de myristyltriméthylammonium, seuls ou en mélange. L’agent acide est sélectionné de préférence parmi les acides inorganiques tels que l’acide nitrique, sulfurique, phosphorique, chlorhydrique, bromhydrique et les acides organiques tels que des acides carboxyliques ou sulfoniques, seuls ou en mélange. Le pH du mélange est de préférence inférieur à 4.
Lors de l’étape 2) du procédé de préparation du monolithe, on ajoute au moins un précurseur soluble de silice, de préférence choisi parmi le tetraethylorthosilicate et le tetraméthylorthosilicate, seuls ou en mélange.
Eventuellement, il est possible d’ajouter audit précurseur, un autre précurseur inorganique de silice de type ionique ou sol colloïdal.
Lors de l’étape 3), on ajoute à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) au moins un composé organique liquide, non miscible à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) pour former une émulsion.
De manière préférée, le composé organique liquide est un hydrocarbure, ou un mélange d’hydrocarbures, possédant 5 à 15 atomes de carbone. De préférence, le ratio en masse composé organique liquide / solution obtenue à l'étape 2) est compris entre 0,2 et 5.
Lors de l’étape 4), on laisse maturer à l’état humide la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) ou l’émulsion obtenue à l’étape 3) pour obtenir un gel ;
De manière préférée, la maturation est effectuée à une température comprise entre 5 et 80°C. De manière préférée, la maturation est effectuée pendant 1 à 30 jours. C’est lors de cette étape 4) que la synthèse de la silice (Si02) a lieu.
Lors de l’étape 5), on lave le gel obtenu à l’étape 4) avec une solution organique.
De manière préférée la solution organique est l’acétone, l’éthanol, le méthanol, l’isopropanol, le tetrahydrofurane, l’acétate d’éthyle, l’acétate de méthyle, seuls ou en mélange. De manière préférée, l’étape de lavage est répétée plusieurs fois.
Lors de l’étape 6), on sèche et on calcine le gel obtenu à l’étape 5) pour obtenir un monolithe à base de silice.
De manière préférée, le séchage est effectué à une température comprise entre 5 et 80°C. De manière préférée, le séchage est effectué pendant 1 à 30 jours. Eventuellement, du papier absorbant peut être utilisé pour accélérer le séchage des matériaux.
De manière préférée, la calcination s’opère comme suit : un premier palier en température compris entre 120 et 250°C pendant 1 à 10 heures, puis un deuxième palier en température compris entre 300 et 950°C pendant 2 à 24 heures.
Lors de l’étape 7), on imprègne une solution comprenant au moins un précurseur soluble de dioxyde de titane dans la porosité du monolithe obtenu à l’étape 6). De manière préférée, le précurseur de titane est choisi parmi un alcoolate, de manière très préférée le précurseur de titane est choisi parmi l’isopropylate de titane et le tetraethylorthotitanate, seuls ou en mélange.
De manière préférée, on effectue une étape de maturation sous atmosphère humide après l’imprégnation.
Lors de l’étape 8), on sèche et on calcine le produit obtenu à l’étape 7) pour obtenir un monolithe.
De manière préférée, on effectue une étape de séchage à une température comprise entre 5 et 120°C et pendant 0,5 à 20 jours.
De manière préférée, on effectue ensuite une étape de calcination sous air avec un premier palier en température compris entre 80 et 150°C pendant 1 à 10 heures, puis un deuxième palier en température compris entre 150 et 250°C pendant 1 à 10 heures, et enfin un troisième palier en température compris entre 300 et 950°C pendant 0,5 à 24 heures.
Tout élément, ou précurseur d’élément, M choisi parmi un élément des groupes VIIIB, IB, 11 B et II IA de la classification périodique des éléments peut être introduit à n’importe quelle étape du procédé.
Les exemples suivants illustrent l'invention sans en limiter la portée.
EXEMPLES
Exemple 1 : Matériau A (non conforme à l’invention')
Le matériau A est un charbon actif commercial sous forme de pastilles (WS490, MBRAUN
®)
Exemple 2 : Matériau B (non conforme à l’invention')
Le matériau B est un matériau commercial constitué de nanoparticules de Ti02 supportées par des fibres de quartz vendu sous la dénomination Quartzel ™ par la société Saint Gobain®. Le Quartzel™ est connu par l’homme du métier pour ses excellentes propriétés photocatalytiques en purification de l’air.
Exemple 3 : Matériau C (non conforme à l’invention)
Le matériau C est un monolithe contenant de la silice et du dioxyde de titane, dans lequel les phases Si02 et Ti02 ont été synthétisées lors de la même étape, tel que le solide dénommé Ti02/Si02-Dodécane décrit à l’exemple 1 de la demande de brevet FR2975309.
Le matériau C possède une porosité totale de 2,44 cm3/g, dont un volume mésoporeux de 0,47 mL/g, un volume macroporeux de type I de 0,79 mL/g et un volume macroporeux de type II de 1 , 18 mL/g, et une densité apparente de 0,33 g/cm3. Le matériau C présente une surface spécifique de 365 m2/g. La teneur en élément Ti mesurée par ICP-AES est de 47,72% poids ce qui fait un équivalent de 79,55% poids deTi02 dans le matériau C
Exemple 4 : Matériau D (non conforme à l’invention')
Le matériau D est un monolithe de Ti02, tel que le solide dénommé Ti02-Heptane décrit à l’exemple 1 de la demande de brevet FR2975309. Le matériau D possède une porosité totale de 0,52 mL/g, dont un volume mésoporeux de 0,29 mL/g, un volume macroporeux de type I de 0,07 mL/g et un volume macroporeux de type II de 0, 16 mL/g, et une densité apparente de 1 , 1 g/cm3. Le matériau D présente une surface spécifique de 175 m2/g.
Exemple 5 Matériau E (conforme à l’invention')
1 ,12 g de bromure de myristyltriméthylammonium (Aldrich™, pureté > 99%) est ajouté dans 2 ml_ d’eau distillée puis mélangé avec 1 ml_ d’une solution d’acide chlorhydrique (37% en masse, Aldrich™, pureté 97%). 1 ,02 g de tetraethylorthosilicate (Aldrich™, pureté > 99%) est ajouté au mélange et l’ensemble est agité jusqu’à obtenir un mélange d’apparence monophasique.
7 g de dodécane (Aldrich™, pureté > 99%) sont introduits lentement au mélange sous agitation jusqu’à formation d’une émulsion.
L’émulsion est ensuite coulée dans une boîte de Pétri de 5,5 cm de diamètre interne, laquelle est installée dans un saturateur pendant 7 jours pour gélification.
Le gel obtenu est alors lavé une première fois au tetrahydrofurane anhydre (Aldrich ™, pureté > 99%), puis avec un mélange tetrahydrofurane anhydre / acetone (VWR™, ACS grade) à 70/30 en volume 2 fois de suite.
Le gel est ensuite séché à température ambiante pendant 7 jours. Le gel est enfin calciné sous air en four à moufle à 180°C pendant 2h, puis à 650°C pendant 5h. On obtient alors un monolithe à base Si02.
Une solution contenant 34 mL d’eau distillée, 44,75 mL d’isopropanol (Aldrich™, pureté > 99,5%), 10,74 mL d’acide chlorhydrique (37% en masse, Aldrich™, pureté 97%) et 10,50 mL d’isopropylate de titane (Aldrich™, pureté 97%) est préparée sous agitation. Une partie de cette solution correspondant au volume poreux est imprégnée dans la porosité du monolithe, puis laissé à maturation pendant 12h. Le monolithe est ensuite séché sous atmosphère ambiante pendant 24h. L’étape est répétée une seconde fois. Le monolithe est enfin calciné sous air en four à moufle à 120°C pendant 2h, puis à 180°C pendant 2h et enfin à 400°C pendant 1 h. On obtient alors un monolithe comprenant du Ti02 dans une matrice Si02, tel que les synthèses des phases silice et dioxyde de titane aient été effectuées lors de deux étapes distinctes.
Le matériau E présente un volume mésoporeux de 0,20 mL/g, un volume macroporeux de type I de 1 ,15 mL/g et un volume macroporeux de type II de 5,8 mL/g. Le matériau E présente une surface spécifique de 212 m2/g. La teneur en élément Ti mesurée par ICP-AES est de 27,35% poids ce qui fait un équivalent de 52,1 % poids deTi02 dans le matériau E. Le matériau E présente une densité apparente de 0,14 g/mL.
Exemple 6 : Mise en œuyre des matériaux en adsorption et photooxydation d’acétone
Les matériaux A, B, C, D et E sont soumis à un test d’adsorption et de photooxydation d’acétone en phase gazeuse dans un réacteur continu à lit traversé en acier muni d’une fenêtre optique en quartz et d’une grille en face de la fenêtre optique sur laquelle est déposé le matériau. Avant chaque essai, les matériaux ont été conditionnés par thermodésorption à
1 15°C pendant 12h. Les tests sont réalisés à température ambiante sous pression atmosphérique en faisant passer un air sec contenant 480 ppmV d’acétone à un débit de 60 mL/min. On suit la teneur résiduelle en acétone et la production de gaz dioxyde de carbone produit issu de la photooxydation de l’acétone par une analyse de l’effluent toutes les 7 minutes par chromatographie en phase gazeuse (GC FID / méthaniseur FID). La source d'irradiation UV est fournie par une lampe de type LED (High Power single chip LED 1W 365nm Roithner Lasertechnik GmbM™). La puissance d’irradiation est maintenue à 30 W/m2 pour une gamme de longueur d’onde comprise entre 315 et 380nm. La durée globale de chaque essai est d’environ 200 heures. Les tests se déroulent en deux étapes : une première étape de mise à l’équilibre sans irradiation qui permet d’estimer la quantité d’acétone adsorbée, une deuxième étape de photooxydation sous irradiation qui permet d’estimer les performances photocatalytiques.
Deux indices de performances sont reportés dans le tableau 1 ci-dessous pour l’ensemble des matériaux évalués. La capacité d’adsorption, calculée comme le pourcentage d’acétone adsorbée en masse rapporté à la masse de matériau engagé ; et le taux de minéralisation calculé comme le pourcentage de C02 mesuré rapporté à la quantité théorique de C02 issu de la photooxydation de l’acétone (une valeur de 100% indiquera qu’aucun produit carboné autre que C02 n’est formé lors de la réaction).

Les valeurs d'adsorption d’acétone montrent que la mise en œuvre selon l’invention permet d’atteindre des niveaux nettement plus élevés même par rapport à des matériaux connus pour être très capacitifs tels que les charbons actifs. D’autre part les taux de minéralisation de l’acétone sont au moins aussi bons que ceux obtenus par les mises en œuvre connues de l’état de l’art.
Exemple 7 : Mise en œuyre des matériaux en adsorption et photo oxydation du toluène
Les matériaux B et E sont soumis à un test d’adsorption et de photooxydation du toluène en phase gazeuse dans un réacteur continu à lit traversé en acier muni d’une fenêtre optique en quartz et d’un fritté en face de la fenêtre optique sur lequel est déposé le matériau. Avant chaque essai, les matériaux ont été conditionnés par thermodésorption à 1 15°C pendant 12h. Les tests sont réalisés à température ambiante sous pression atmosphérique en faisant passer un air sec contenant 70 ppmV de toluène à un débit de 60mL/min. On suit la teneur résiduelle en toluène et la production de gaz dioxyde de carbone produit issu de la photooxydation du toluène par une analyse de l’effluent toutes les 7 minutes par chromatographie en phase gazeuse (GC FID / méthaniseur FID). La source d'irradiation UV est fournie par une lampe de type LED (High Power single chip LED 1W 365nm Roithner Lasertechnik GmbM™). La puissance d’irradiation est toujours maintenue à 30W/m2 pour une gamme de longueur d’onde comprise entre 315 et 380nm. La durée globale de chaque essai est d’environ 100 heures. Deux indices de performances sont reportés dans le tableau 2 ci-dessous pour l’ensemble des matériaux évalués. La capacité d’adsorption, calculée comme le pourcentage de toluène adsorbé en masse rapporté à la masse de matériau engagé ; et le taux de minéralisation calculé comme le pourcentage de C02 mesuré rapporté à la quantité théorique de C02 issu de la photooxydation du toluène (une valeur de 100% indiquera qu’aucun produit carboné autre que C02 n’est formé lors de la réaction).

Les valeurs d'adsorption du toluène montrent que la mise en œuvre selon l’invention permet d’atteindre des niveaux nettement plus élevés que des mises en œuvre connues de l’état de l’art. D’autre part, le taux de minéralisation du toluène est nettement supérieur pour une mise en œuvre selon l’invention. Enfin, la mise en œuvre du matériau E selon l’invention, permet d’obtenir des activités photocatalytiques très stables contrairement à la mise en œuvre du
Quartzel® (matériau B). Avec le matériau Quartzel®, on observe une désactivation rapide du matériau qui se caractérise par une diminution de la production en dioxyde de carbone et un jaunissement important du matériau lors de la phase de test sous irradiation.
Claims
1. Procédé de traitement d’une charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés volatils, lequel procédé comprend les étapes suivantes :
a) on met en contact ladite charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils avec un monolithe comprenant de la silice et du dioxyde de titane, ledit monolithe comprenant un volume macroporeux de type I, dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 50 nm et inférieur ou égal à 1000 nm, compris entre 0,1 à 3 ml_/g, et un volume macroporeux de type II, dont le diamètre des pores est supérieur à 1 pm et inférieur ou égal à 10 pm, compris entre 1 à 8 mL/g ;
b) on irradie ledit monolithe par au moins une source d'irradiation produisant au moins une longueur d'onde inférieure à 400 nm pour convertir lesdits composés organiques volatils en dioxyde de carbone, ladite étape b) étant réalisée à une température comprise entre - 30°C et + 200°C et à une pression comprise entre 0,01 MPa et 70 MPa.
2. Procédé selon la revendication 1 , ladite charge gazeuse contenant du dioxygène et un ou plusieurs composés organiques volatils est diluée avec un fluide diluant.
3. Procédé selon l’une des revendications 1 ou 2, dans lequel la source d’irradiation est une source d’irradiation artificielle.
4. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 3, dans la source d’irradiation produit au moins une longueur d’onde comprise entre 300 et 400 nm.
5. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, dans lequel l’étape a) est réalisée dans un réacteur en lit fixe traversé ou en lit fixe léchant.
6. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, dans lequel ledit monolithe possède un volume mésoporeux, dont le diamètre de pore est supérieur à 2 nm et inférieur ou égal à 50 nm, compris entre 0,01 et 1 mL/g, de préférence entre 0,05 et 0,5 mL/g.
7. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, dans lequel ledit monolithe possède en outre un volume macroporeux, dont le diamètre de pore est supérieur à 10 pm, inférieur à 0,5 mL/g.
8. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 7, dans lequel ledit monolithe possède une densité apparente comprise entre 0,05 et 0,5 g/mL.
9. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 8, dans lequel ledit monolithe possède une surface spécifique comprise entre 10 et 1000 m2/g, de manière préférée entre 50 et 600 m2/g.
10. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 9, dans lequel ledit monolithe comprend une teneur en dioxyde de titane comprise entre 5 et 70% en poids par rapport au poids total du monolithe.
11. Procédé selon l’une quelconque des revendications 1 à 10, dans lequel ledit monolithe est préparé selon les étapes suivantes :
1 ) on mélange une solution contenant un tensioactif avec une solution acide ;
2) on ajoute à la solution obtenue à l’étape 1 ) au moins un précurseur soluble de silice ;
3) éventuellement, on ajoute à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) au moins un composé organique liquide, non miscible à la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) pour former une émulsion ;
4) on laisse maturer à l’état humide la solution obtenue à l’étape 2) ou l’émulsion obtenue à l’étape 3) pour obtenir un gel ;
5) on lave le gel obtenu à l’étape 4) avec une solution organique ;
6) on sèche et on calcine le gel obtenu à l’étape 5) pour obtenir un monolithe à base de silice ;
7) on imprègne une solution comprenant au moins un précurseur soluble de dioxyde de titane dans la porosité du monolithe obtenu à l’étape 6);
8) éventuellement, on sèche et on calcine le produit obtenu à l’étape 7) pour obtenir un monolithe à base de silice et contenant du dioxyde de titane.
12. Procédé selon la revendication 1 1 , dans lequel on réalise à l’étape 8) un séchage à une température comprise entre 5 et 120°C.
13. Procédé selon les revendications 11 ou 12 dans lequel on réalise à l’étape 8) une calcination sous air avec un premier palier en température compris entre 80 et 150°C pendant 1 à 10 heures, puis un deuxième palier en température compris entre 150 et 250°C pendant 1 à 10 heures, et enfin un troisième palier en température compris entre 300 et 950°C pendant 0,5 à 24 heures.
