Description

Title: Convertible garment
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a convertible garment, according to the general part of claim 1.
Convertible garments, which have never had wide commercial success due to the fact that they present drawbacks while being converted, have been known for a long time. Furthermore, very often these articles, even once converted, did not result in good looking garments.
By way of example, it is mentioned the multifunctional garment described in document RU2486852 C 1 , where a scarf provided with a zipper, convertible into a sort of "bolero" jacket leaving the back partially nude or into a neckline with a cap, is described. Other garments, even more complex from a constructive and functional perspective, are described in documents RU2181978 Cl, US2585686 A, as well as in CN105595481 A. All these three documents relate to multifunctional scarves.
The object of the present invention is to realize a convertible garment which is constructively simple, which can be converted rapidly and easily, and which is, in its various conformations, aesthetically good-looking.
In particular the invention intends to realize a garment in the form of an outerwear garment which can be easily and quickly modified into a neck warmer.
The neck warmer is a relatively recent accessory which has obtained and is still obtaining great success, as, in addition to keeping the neck, ears and part of the face warm, is very versatile, as it can be made of different fabrics and colours, it can be easily put on from the head and it can thus serve as a collar for any neck-less sweater. This accessory can be considered as the substitute of the traditional scarf, and being more comfortable, due to the fact that it does not move as the scarf does, it does not need to be constantly adapted and it is less bulky. It can also be matched, according to the user tastes, to more elegant dresses and clothes, both for men and women and it is a very discreet accessory (in the version for men, more sober colours will be chosen). This can be obtained, according to the invention, by a convertible garment characterized in that it consists of an outerwear garment, specifically it is a sweater with short sleeves, with a neckline in correspondence with the neck of the user.
At each lateral flank of said sweater there is a reversible fastening device.
According to a particular embodiment, at each of the lateral flanks of said sweater, the teeth of a zipper are provided; such teeth extend along the entire lateral flank of the sweater, with two sides substantially parallel along said flank, which mutually connect, overtaking the sleeve of the sweater; it is in particular provided that a couple of sliders engage on the teeth of each of the sweater l ateral fl anks.
Alternatively, instead of zippers, equivalent devices can be used, such as buttons to be inserted in a button hole, snap fasteners, as well as devices using VELCRO® elements or laces.
These and other features of the invention will now be described in detail hereinafter, in some of its embodiments, given by way of non-limiting example, with the help of the enclosed drawings, wherein:
Fig. 1, 2 represent the convertible garment according to the invention, respectively in front and rear views, with function of outerwear garment;
Fig. 3, 4 represent the convertible garment, always with function of outerwear garment, being worn, in one particular conformation thereof;
Fig. 5, 6 represent the convertible garment, always with function of outerwear garment, being worn, in one different conformation thereof; Fig. 7 represents the aforementioned outerwear garment, on which preliminary operations for transforming it into a neck warmer have been carried out, in the step of passing from its function of outerwear garment into the neck warmer one;
- Fig. 8 represents the garment, after having been folded (matching the reverses), such as to be used as neck warmer;
Fig. 9 represents the garment as folded and actually used by the user with neck warmer function.
As visible from figures 1 to 4, the convertible garment according of the invention consists in an outerwear garment 1 , which consists of a sweater 2 with two short sleeves
3. In particular, a neckline 4 is present in correspondence with the user neck and the teeth of a zipper 5 are provided in correspondence with each of the sweater lateral flanks 7', 7" and at a certain distance from the outer edge. Such teeth, as visible in particular in figures 3 and 4, extend throughout the lateral flank of the sweater (perpendicularly from the shoulder until the lower edge), with two sides 5’, 5" being substantially parallel along said flank, mutually connecting, overtaking the sleeve of the sweater. From the figures, it can be noted that a couple of sliders 6', 6" engage on the teeth placed on each of the lateral flanks 7', 7".
In the configuration of figures 3 and 4, it looks as a "comfortable" garment, not tight at the waist, with both zippers 5', 5" open, wherein the dynamic and multi-purpose nature of the garment is stressed; vice versa in the configuration of fi gures 5 and 6, the zippers 5 are partially closed and the couples of sliders 6', 6" are arranged above, until they are brought in mutual proximity at the user waist and/or hips, allowing the outerwear garment to become tight-waisted, in order to make the figure shaped and conformed. It is clear from figure 7 that, in order to transform the outerwear garment of the preceding figures into a neck warmer, it is first of all necessary to curve the sleeves 3 and also flanks 7', 7" inwards the outerwear garment, as illustrated. It is thus provided to close completely the two zippers 5, respectively present on the flanks of the outerwear garment, which assumes a substantially trapezoidal conformation.
At this point, in order to completely transform the garment into a neck warmer, it is provided to insert the upper portion of the outerwear garment placed in correspondence with the neck of the user, inside the aforesaid lower portion, such that the two portions mutually overlap (figure 8), assuming even in this case a trapezoidal conformation, but with a height substantially halved with respect to the previous conformation.
Now the garment of the invention can be used as a neck warmer, as illustrated indeed in figure 9. In this case, one of the zippers 5 is arranged at the front (taking advantage of its aesthetical relevance), but it is also possible to arrange it at the side, according to the user’s tastes.
It must be specified that instead of zippers, equivalent closing devices, normally used in garments, can be used, such as buttons to be inserted in a button hole and snap fasteners, or devices using VELCRO® elements or laces, without departing from the scope of protection of the present patent.
From an operative point of view, the garment of the invention is particularly suitable for persons who practise sports activities (especially on the hillside and mountain areas, where the temperature range is significant), such as Nordic walking, as well as other open-air sports, such as trekking, marathons and in general open-air running, or horse- riding, mountain bike, etcetera).
The garment of the invention can also be used usefully in particular by people, as students and commuters, who spend the whole day outside moving and who wish to have a single multipurpose garment; even riders and cyclists can use it to protect neck and face from cold air and it is thus clear that the garment of the invention can be used also by people of both genders.
Regarding the material composing the device of the invention, various fabrics can be used, even if, by way of a non-limiting example, the fabric can consist of 5% ELASTAN®, 30% wool and/or cotton and the remaining part polyamide and/or polyester. The fabric will advantageously consist of a technical fabric intended for sports activity, made of a robust and stretch weave, such as to prevent the loose effect of the fabric.
