衣服兼手提げ袋技術分野
本発明は、一般に、衣服に関し、特に、手提げ袋又はショルダバッグに変換自
在の衣服に関する。技術背景
手提げ袋に変換自在の衣服の効用及び実用性は、従来から周知である。例えば
、ハンドバッグやショルダバッグ等に変換するための折りたたみ自在のベスト又
はジャケットは、米国特許第４，６３７，０７６号、４，４７５，２５１号、４
，７００，４０９号、４，４８３，４６９号及び２，１６５，３４８号に開示さ
れている。
そのような変換自在の衣服兼袋（単に「デバイス」とも称する）を設計するに
当っては、製造コストが安く、かつ、簡単に使用できる、即ち、衣服から袋へ、
袋から衣服へ簡単に変換することができる構造を提供することが望ましい。考慮
すべきもう１つの事項は、衣服モードのときでも袋モードのときでもそのデバイ
スの効用をできるだけ損なわないことである。もう１つの更に重要な考慮事項は
、特に衣服モードのときのデバイスの美的品質をできる限り維持することである
。実際、最終目標は、完全に実用的で美的に優れた袋に簡単かつ迅速に変換する
ことができる実用的で美的な衣服を提供することである。前掲の先行特許は、こ
の最終目標へのいろいろな解決方法を開示しているが、上述した基準を充足し、
比
較的低コストで製造することができる変換自在の衣服兼袋を求める要望が依然と
して存在する。発明の概要
本発明は、背部と、背部の両側部に接合された、互いに対向した第１及び第２
前部パネルを有するベスト又はジャケットのような衣服を提供する。各前部パネ
ルは、垂直（上下）方向の前縁を有し、前部終端から前縁に沿って下方に延長し
、衣服の底縁に沿って、次いで衣服の背部に沿って上方へ途中まで延長し、更に
垂直方向の中央二股縁に沿って背部終端にまで延長した第１ジッパートラック（
軌道）を有する第１又は主ジッパーを備えている。
本発明の好ましい実施の形態では、上記主ジッパーは、裏表両方に引張りつま
みを有する滑り金を備えた「リバーシブル」タイプのジッパーであり、滑り金を
そのトラックの前部終端からトラックに沿って下方に摺動させることによってジ
ッパーが閉じられ、衣服を着用者の胴体の周りに閉じるようになされている。ジ
ッパーを開放するときは、滑り金をトラックに沿ってその前部終端に向けて上方
に摺動させる。これは、滑り金を上方に摺動させることによって閉じられ、下方
に摺動させることによって開放されるようになされた慣用のジッパー付き衣服の
場合とは逆であるから、「逆動作」滑り金と称することができる。
第２ジッパー即ち袋開閉手段は、衣服のアームホール
のすぐ下のところで衣服の内側に沿って水平方向に延長し、水平方向に整列した
第１及び第２ジッパー歯列によって構成されるトラックから成る。第１ジッパー
歯列及び第２ジッパー歯列は、それぞれ対向した前部パネル縁の、主ジッパーの
前部終端に近接した点から衣服の背部の中央部の近くで主ジッパーの背部終端の
直ぐ上に位置する終点にまで延長している。２列のジッパー歯列のそれぞれの終
点は、衣服の背部の中央部で主ジッパーの背部終端の上方で僅かな間隙によって
互いに分離されている。第２ジッパーの滑り金は、２列のジッパー歯列の一方の
列に取り付けられている。
ベスト又はジャケットとして着用するときは、主ジッパーの滑り金を前部パネ
ル縁に沿って下方に引下げることによって主ジッパーを閉鎖する。これは、先に
述べたように、慣用のジッパー付き衣服のジッパーの操作方向とは反対である。
衣服を袋に変換するには、着用者は、主ジッパーの滑り金をそのトラックの前部
終端にまで上方へ摺動し、滑り金をトラック即ち２列のジッパー歯列のうちの一
方のジッパー歯列から離脱させてベストを脱ぐ。次に、主ジッパーの滑り金をト
ラックに再度係合させ、前部終端から前部パネルに沿って下方に滑らせ、底縁セ
グメントに沿って、次いで二股縁に沿って衣服の下方背部の背部終端にまで摺動
させる。ここで、衣服を裏返しにすれば、閉鎖した底部と両端部を有する袋が得
られる。第２ジッパー即ち袋開閉ジッパーのトラックを構
成する２列のジッパー歯列は、互いに並置関係に引き寄せられて開放した袋の頂
部の１対の対向した平行な縁を画定する。
次に、衣服の上方部分（即ち、上方背部及び前部パネルの上方切除部分）を下
方部分に重ねるように折り返し、衣服の上方部分を袋の開放した頂部内へ押込む

好ましい実施形態では、本発明の変換自在の衣服兼手提げ袋（デバイス）の実
用性を高める幾つかの特徴を含む。例えば、取り外し自在の肩掛け革ひもを着脱
自在に袋に取り付けるためのＤ形リングのような適当な取付手段が設けられる。
更に、袋を二つ折りにしてその一端を他端に解放自在に掛止するためのホック又
はフック／ループファスナー（「マジックテープ」）のような締着手段が設けら
れる。
衣服の背部には、二股縁の間に画定される中央二股を隠蔽するためのカバーを
締着しておくのが有利である。
カバーには、実用上の目的のためにポケットを形成しておくことが好ましい。
以下の詳細な説明から分かるように、本発明は、衣服形態から袋形態へ、その
どちらの機能もほとんど又は全く犠牲にすることなく、迅速、かつ、簡単に変換
することができる衣服兼手提げ袋を提供する。しかも、本発明
のこのデバイスの、特にその衣服モードにおける美的外観が高度に維持される。
更に、本発明のデバイスは、広範囲の天然及び合成織物材から経済的に製造する
ことができる。図面の簡単な説明

に示された側とは反対側の面、即ち、袋の一端を他端に締着するための締着手段
が設けられている側の面を示す。
図７は、締着手段によって袋の一端を他端に締着した
後の手提げ袋モードのデバイスを示す立面図である。好ましい実施の形態の説明
図１、２及び３ａを参照すると、人間が着用するベストとして形成された変換
自在の衣服兼手提げ袋（以下、単に「デバイス」とも称する）１０が示される。
ベストの形態とした場合、デバイス１０は、基本的に、１対の対向した可撓性織
物材の前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂと、下方背部１４と、下方背部と一体の上方背
部１６とから成る。各前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂは、その側部において下方背部
１４に接合され、上端において上方背部１６に接合されている。前部パネル１２
ａ，１２ｂは、それぞれ第１及び第２底縁セグメント３４ａ，３４ｂに連接する
１対の垂直方向の前部パネル縁（単に「前縁」とも称する）１７ａ，１７ｂを画
定する。
下方背部１４及び上方背部１６は、前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂと同じ可撓性織
物材で形成することが好ましい。上方背部１６と各前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂと
の間にアームホール（袖ぐり）１８が形成され、各前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂの
上方切除部分２０ａ，２０ｂと、上方背部１６の中央頂部の凹状部分２２によっ
て襟が画定されている。下方背部１４は、後述する目的のために１対の対向した
二股縁２４の間に画定された垂直方向の中央二股を有する。
図示の実施形態は、前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂに複数の蓋付きポケット２６及
びジッパー付きポケット２８を
有する魚釣り用ベストとして設計されている。蓋付きポケット２６の１つの外表
面にラムウール製のフライパッチ（毛針保持パッチ）３０を貼付しておくのが有
利である。もちろん、本発明は、ハイカー、ハンター、写真家、スキーヤ、及び
その他の趣味及びスポーツに従事する人に適するいろいろなタイプのベストとし
て具体化することができることは当業者には明らかであろう。更に、本発明は、
ジャケット、シャツ又はセーター等の袖付き衣服としても具体化することができ
る。又、着用者の好みに応じて、前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂ及び背部１４，１６
の素材として任意のいろいろな天然及び剛性材料を用いることができる。例えば
、これらの部分は、キャンバス、レザー、コットン、コットン／ポリエステル混
紡、ナイロン、又は各種ポリマー材で製造することができる。
デバイス１０は、トラック３２を有する第１又は主ジッパーを備えている。ジ
ッパーのトラック３２は、周知のように２列のジッパー歯列によって構成されて
おり、襟の近くの前部終端３３から前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂの対向した前縁１
７ａ，１７ｂに沿って下方に延長し、第１及び第２底縁セグメント３４ａ，３４
ｂに沿って延長し、それらの底縁セグメントに連接した二股縁２４に沿って上方
に延長し、二股縁２４の上端において下方背部１４に位置する背部終端３５にま
で延長している。
主ジッパーは、「リバーシブル」タイプの裏表両方に
引張りつまみ（図には１つの引張りつまみだけしか示されていない）を有する滑
り金３６を備えており、滑り金３６がベストの前部の頂部、即ち、襟のところで
最初にトラック３２に係合し、滑り金３６を前縁１７ａ，１７ｂに沿って下方に
摺動させることによってジッパーが閉じられるように設定されている。これは、
滑り金を上方に摺動させることによって閉じられるようになされた慣用のジッパ
ー付き衣服の場合とは逆であるが、この「逆動作」滑り金の使用は、単一の滑り
金で、ベストを着用したときにはベストの前部を閉じることができ、ベストを手
提げ袋に変換するときはトラック３２の全長に亙ってベストの背部の背部終端３
５にまでジッパーを閉じることを可能にするという点で本発明の衣服兼手提げ袋
の構造を簡略化する。
美的観点から、二股縁２４の間に画定される中央二股は、隠蔽することが好ま
しい。その目的のために、正方形又は長方形のカバー３８をベストの下方背部１
４に縫い付け又はその他の手段によって締着しておくことができる。カバー３８
は、使用者が主ジッパーのトラック３２に、かつ、トラック３２の二股縁２４に
沿う部分に置かれたときの滑り金３６にアクセスし易いように、上縁に沿ってと
、下縁の両隅だけで下方背部１４に締着しておくのが有利である。好ましい実施
形態では、カバー３８は、二重布材で形成してそれらの底部を締着してポケット
を形成し、ポケットをジッパー４０又はその他の開
閉手段（図示せず）によって開閉自在とすることができる。
ベストの内側は、図３ｂに示される。ベストは、二重布材で形成することが好
ましく、それによって、前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂ及び背部１４，１６の内表面
が、ベストのライナーとしても機能し、ベストを手提げ袋に変換したとき、その
手提げ袋の外表面としても機能する内表面又はライナーを画定するようにする。
ベストの内側面にも１つ以上のポケット４４を設けることができる。これらのポ

列４６ｂは、それぞれ対向した前部パネル縁１７ａ，１７ｂの、主ジッパーの前
部終端３３に近接した点から衣服の背部の中央部の近くで主ジッパーの背部終端
３５の直ぐ上に位置する終点４７ａ，４７ｂにまで延長している。ジッパー歯列
４６ａ，４６ｂのそれぞれの終点４７ａと４７ｂとは、衣服の背部の中央部で主
ジ
ッパーの背部終端３５の上方で僅かな間隙によって互いに分離されている。第２
ジッパーの滑り金４８は、２列のジッパー歯列４６ａ，４６ｂの一方の列に取り
付けられている。
第１Ｄ形リング５０ａをジッパー歯列４６ａと４６ｂの間の間隙においてライ
ナー４２に取り付け、第２Ｄ形リング５０ｂをベストの一方の外縁近くでライナ
ー４２に取り付け、第３Ｄ形リング５０ｃを第ＩＤ形リング５０ａと第２Ｄ形リ
ング５０ｂとのほぼ中間でライナー４２に取り付けるておくことが好ましい。こ
れらの３つのＤ形リングは、後述するように手提げ袋を持つための革ひも又は把
手を着脱自在に取り付けるための取付手段を構成する。
デバイス１０は、ベストとして着用されたときは、図１及び２に示されるよう
な形態となる。主ジッパーの滑り金３６は、主ジッパーのトラック３２の前部終
端３３のところに位置しており、前部パネル縁１７ａ，１７ｂに沿って下方に引
下げることによって主ジッパーをほぼ底縁セグメント３４ａ，３４ｂのところま
で閉鎖することができ、それによってベストを着用者の胴体の周りに閉鎖する。
ベストを袋に変換するには、着用者は、主ジッパーの滑り金３６をそのトラッ
ク３２の前部終端３３にまで上方へ摺動し、滑り金３６をトラック３２を構成す
る２列のジッパー歯列のうちの一方のジッパー歯列から離脱さ
せてベストを脱ぐ。次に、主ジッパーの滑り金３６をトラック３２に再度係合さ
せ、前部終端３３から前部パネル１７ａ，１７ｂに沿って下方に滑らせ、底縁セ

縁を画定する。（図４では、一方のジッパー歯列４６ｂだけが示されており、そ
の後に他方のジッパー歯列４６ａが隠れている。）第２ジッパーを開放したまま
にしておけば、袋の頂部は開放した状態に保たれる。
次に、図５及び６に示されるように、衣服の上方部分（即ち、上方背部１６及
び前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂの上方切除部分２０ａ，２０ｂ）を下方部分に重ね
るように折り返し、衣服の上方部分を袋の開放した頂部内へ押込む。（デバイス
が衣服モードにおいて例えばジャケットのように袖を有するものである場合は、
それらの袖も袋の開放した頂部内へ押込む。）衣服の上方部分の折り返し線は、
２列のジッパー歯列４６ａ，４６ｂを袋の頂
縁に沿って互いに露呈させて第２ジッパー即ち袋開閉ジッパーのトラック５８を
構成するように定められている。かくして、袋開閉ジッパーの滑り金４８を用い
て袋を選択的に開閉することができる。袋の、衣服への変換は、上述した手順を
単に逆に行うことによって達成される。
図５及び６に示されるように、取り外し自在の肩掛け革ひも６０をその両端を
それぞれ第１及び第２Ｄ形リング５０ａ，５０ｂに解放自在に係止する第１及び
第２ばねフック６１ａ，６１ｂのような適当な取付手段によって袋５２の取り付
けることができる。あるいは、肩掛け革ひも６０の代わりに、短い手持ち革ひも
又は把手（図示せず）を用いることもできる。
袋５２は、図５、６に示されるような形態に構成されている場合、たとえ物が
一杯に詰められていなくても、袋を持ち上げたとき中央部が垂れ下がる傾向があ
る。そのような傾向を防止するとともに、袋をコンパクトにし、袋が空であるか
、又は一杯に詰められていないときでも持ち運ぶのに便利なようにするために、
図７に示されるように袋５２をその縦軸線に沿って折りたたみ、袋の両端部５６
を結合するための適当な解放自在の締着手段を設けることができる。好ましい実
施形態では、そのような締着手段は、前部パネル１２ａ，１２ｂの一方（図示の
例ではパネル１２ｂ）の衣服モードのときでみて内側面の下方部分に付設された
雌雄ホック６２ａ，６２ｂ
（図３ｂ参照）の形を取ることができる。ホック６２ａ，６２ｂは、袋５２に変
換されたときその外側面に露出される。あるいは、締着手段は、「ベルクロ」と
いう商標名で販売されているフック／ループファスナー（「マジックテープ」）
であってもよい。図７に示されるように袋５２がその縦軸線に沿って折りたたま
れた状態では、革ひも６０の一端のばねフック６１ｂは、第３Ｄ形リング５０ｃ
に係止される。
以上の説明から分かるように、本発明は、その使用目的にとって独自の利点を
有する。第１に、本発明は、衣服として完全な機能を果たすことができ、衣服モ
ードにおいても、袋モードにおいても、その効用をほとんどあるいは全く損なう
ことなく、迅速、かつ、容易に手提げ袋等に変換することができる変換自在デバ
イスを提供する。更に、衣服モードにおいても、袋モードにおいてもデバイスの
美的品質を許容し得る度合に維持することができる。しかも、このデバイスは、
製造が簡単で、かつ経済的である。
以上、本発明を好ましい実施形態に関連して説明したが、本発明は、ここに例
示した実施形態の構造及び形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の精神及び範
囲から逸脱することなく、いろいろな実施形態が可能であり、いろいろな変更及
び改変を加えることができることを理解されたい。例えば、先にも述べたように
、本発明のデバイスは、その衣服モードにおいて袖付き形態とするこ
とができる。又、袋開閉ジッパーの代わりに、複数個のホック、マジックテープ
、ボタン又はクラスプ（留め金又は締め金）を用いることもできる。肩掛け革ひ
も又は手提げ革ひもは、ボタン、バックル等のいろいろな締着手段によって袋５
２に着脱自在に取り付けることができる。BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1.
