Abstract
NBR 100重量部に対し、硫黄1~3重量部および一般式 RN-S-S-NR(ここでRNは、S原子に結合したN原子と共に形成された環状結合基である)で表される4,4'-ジチオジモルホリン、ジチオカプロラクタムなどのジスルフィド化合物1~15重量部を配合したゴム積層金属用NBR組成物。このゴム積層金属用NBR組成物は、ゴム積層金属板として、例えばこれをガスケットあるいは他の金属板と積層した積層複合金属であるブレーキシム材として用いたとき、ゴム層のはみ出し性を改善することを可能とする。
Description
本発明は、ゴム積層金属用NBR組成物に関する。さらに詳しくは、ブレーキシム材等のゴム層を形成せしめるゴム積層金属用NBR組成物に関する。
金属板の片面または両面にNBRまたは水素化NBRを積層したゴム積層金属ガスケットは、金属の間に締め付けて使うため、ゴム層表面に強い圧縮応力がかかる。この締付応力に耐えられずゴムが変形すると、目的とするシール機能を果たすことができない。
一般には、はみ出し性を改善するために、カーボンブラック、シリカ等の充填剤を配合して硬度を上げる方法が行われるが、ゴム硬度の上昇により、混練加工性の悪化、シール性の低下などがみられる。また、加硫剤である硫黄の配合量を増して架橋密度を上げても、大きな改善効果は見込めない。
特許文献1には、(A)NBRを70重量%以上含み、AN含有量が25~50重量%のゴム成分100重量部当り、(B)加硫剤として、(イ)硫黄0~0.5重量部および(ロ)モルホリンジスルフィド、アルキルフェノールジスルフィドまたは高分子多硫化物0.5~3重量部および(C)4,4′-(α,α-ジメチルベンジル)ジフェニルアミン老化防止剤0.5~5重量部を含むガスホルダーシール材用耐熱性NBR組成物が記載されている。
硫黄の配合量については、0~0.5重量部、好ましくは0~0.3重量部とされ、これ以上の配合量では耐熱性にすぐれた組成物が得られないと記載されている。各実施例では、硫黄は用いられてはおらず、硫黄が2重量部用いられた比較例1では耐熱性に劣るばかりか、硬度の上昇が著しい。
また、モルホリンジスルフィド(バルノックR)は、0.5~3重量部、好ましくは0.5~2重量部用いられており、これ以上の配合量では早期加硫を生じ、スコーチ現象の原因となると記載されている。
特許文献2には、2種の異なるヨウ素価を有するニトリル基含有共重合ゴム100重量部に対し、硫黄量換算で0.1~1.5重量部、好ましくは0.2~1重量部、より好ましくは0.3~0.8重量部の硫黄および/または4,4′-ジチオジモルホリンを含有させた加硫性ゴム組成物が記載されている。
その実施例または比較例では、硫黄または4,4′-ジチオジモルホリンの一方のみが用いられており、両者を併用した実施例はみられない。
特許文献3では、NBR 100質量部に対して加硫促進剤としてチウラム系化合物0.5~7質量部、4,4′-ジチオジモルホリン0~2.5質量部およびチアゾール系化合物2.0~7.0質量部を用い、MW700~2000の可塑剤5~50質量部の存在下で加硫されたNBR組成物を用いた自動車用エアーホースが記載されている。
4,4′-ジチオジモルホリンの配合量が2.5質量部を超えると耐熱性に劣るようになると記載され、各実施例では0~1質量部用いられている。また、硫黄の配合量は0.1~1.0質量部が好ましいとされ、各実施例ではいずれも0.3質量部用いられている。
特許文献4~5では、転がり軸受に用いられるシール装置を構成するシール部材が、NBR 100重量部に対して(A)カーボンブラックおよびクレーを40~200重量部、(B)4,4′-ジチオジモルホリンを0.5~3重量部または0.2~5重量部、(C)スルフェンアミド系加硫促進剤を1~10重量部配合してなり、かつスプリング硬さAスケールが71~75であるゴム組成物の成形体であるものが記載されている。
4,4′-ジチオジモルホリンと共に、架橋剤として硫黄を少量添加することができると記載されてはいるが、各実施例では加硫剤B(4,4′-ジチオジモルホリン)1~2重量部のみが用いられていて、加硫剤A(高分散性硫黄)0.3重量部との併用は、引用文献5の実施例7だけにすぎない。
本発明の目的は、ゴム積層金属板として、例えばこれをガスケットあるいは他の金属板と積層した積層複合金属であるブレーキシム材として用いたとき、ゴム層のはみ出し性を改善することを可能とするゴム組成物を提供することにある。
かかる本発明の目的は、NBR 100重量部に対し、硫黄1~3重量部および一般式 RN-S-S-NR(ここでRNは、S原子に結合したN原子と共に形成された環状結合基である)で表されるジスルフィド化合物1~15重量部を配合したゴム積層金属用NBR組成物によって達成される。
ジスルフィド化合物を用いたはみ出し性の改善は、充填剤等の配合に頼らず、したがって硬度上昇を伴わないため、混練加工性やシール性の点で効果がある。
ゴム硬度の上昇は、例えばブレーキシム材の制震特性にも悪影響を及ぼすため、ジスルフィド化合物を使用したはみ出し性の改善は、高硬度化を抑えることができ、結果的にブレーキシム材では制震特性を維持することができる。
NBRとしては、アクリロニトリル(AN)含量は任意のもの、例えば18~48重量%を有するものが用いられる。
NBRには、それの100重量部に対して、硫黄が1~3重量部、好ましくは1.8~2.5重量部と一般式 RN-S-S-NRで表されるジスルフィド化合物1~15重量部、好ましくは1~10重量部との両者が配合して用いられる。
硫黄の配合割合がこれよりも少ないと、はみ出し性が不十分となり、一方これより多く用いられても、はみ出し性は改善されない。
上記一般式で表されるジスルフィド化合物において、RNはS原子に結合したN原子と共に形成された環状結合基であり、具体的には4,4′-ジチオジモルホリン、ジチオカプロラクタム等が挙げられ、4,4′-ジチオジモルホリンが好んで用いられる。
その配合割合は、1~15重量部、好ましくは1~10重量部であり、これよりも少ない配合割合でははみ出し性は改善されず、一方これより多い配合割合では、はみ出し性は改善されるものの硬度上昇が著しい。
NBR組成物には、さらに他の含硫黄加硫促進剤が配合されることが好ましい。含硫黄加硫促進剤としては、グアニジン系、アルデヒド-アミン系、アルデヒド-アンモニア系、チアゾール系、スルフェンアミド系、チオ尿素系、チウラム系、ジチオカルバメート系、キサンテート系等の各種加硫促進剤が用いられ、好ましくはテトラメチルチウラムジスルフィド、N-シクロヘキシル-2-ベンゾチアジルスルフェンアミド等が挙げられる。
これらの含硫黄加硫促進剤は、一般にNBR 100重量部に対して約15重量部以下、好ましくは1~10重量部の割合で用いられる。
これらの各成分に加えて、約40~150重量部のカーボンブラック、重質炭酸カルシウム、受酸剤、滑剤、その他の配合剤を配合したNBR組成物は、その加硫物層を金属板上に積層させたゴム積層金属板として用いられる。
金属板としては、ステンレス鋼板、軟鋼板、亜鉛メッキ鋼板、SPCC鋼板、銅板、マグネシウム板、アルミニウム板、アルミニウムダイキャスト板等が用いられる。これらは、一般に脱脂した状態で用いられ、必要に応じて金属表面をショットブラスト、スコッチブライド、ヘアーライン、ダル仕上げなどで粗面化することが行われる。また、その板厚は、シール材用途の場合にあっては、一般に約0.1~1mm程度のものが用いられる。
これらの金属板上には、好ましくはプライマー層が形成される。プライマー層は、ゴム金属積層体のゴム接着層にかかる耐熱性および耐水性の大幅な向上が望めるものであり、特にゴム積層金属板を他の金属板、好ましくは鋼板等と積層した積層複合金属であるブレーキシム材として使用する場合にはそれを形成させることが望ましい。
プライマー層としては、リン酸亜鉛皮膜、リン酸鉄皮膜、塗布型クロメート皮膜、バナジウム、ジルコニウム、アルミニウム、シリコン、チタニウム、モリブデン、タングステン、マンガン、亜鉛、セリウム等の金属の化合物、特にこれら金属の酸化物等の無機系被膜、シラン、フェノール樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ポリウレタン等の有機系被膜など、一般に市販されている薬液あるいは公知技術をそのまま用いることができる。
以上の各成分よりなるプライマーは、その固形分濃度が約0.2~5重量%となるように有機溶剤、例えばメタノール、エタノール、イソプロピルアルコール等のアルコール類、アセトン、メチルエチルケトン等のケトン類などの溶液として調製され、液安定性が保たれる限りにおいては、水性溶液としても調製される。
得られたプライマー溶液は、金属板上にスプレー、浸せき、刷毛、ロールコータ等を用いて、約50~200mg/m2量の片面目付量で塗布され、室温または温風にて乾燥させた後、約100~250℃、約0.5~20分間焼付け処理され、プライマー層が形成される。
また、接着剤としては、シラン、フェノール樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ポリウレタン等の各種樹脂被膜形成用として一般に市販されている接着剤をそのまま使用することができる。また、ノボラック型フェノール樹脂およびレゾール型フェノール樹脂の2種類のフェノール樹脂と未加硫ニトリルゴムからなる接着剤も使用することができる。
ノボラック型フェノール樹脂としては、フェノール、p-クレゾール、m-クレゾール、p-第3ブチルフェノール等のフェノール水酸基に対してo-位および/またはp-位に2個または3個の置換可能な核水素原子を有するフェノール類またはそれらの混合物とホルムアルデヒドとを、シュウ酸、塩酸、マレイン酸等の酸触媒の存在下において縮合反応させることによって得られる融点80~150℃の樹脂、好ましくはm-クレゾールとホルムアルデヒドから製造された融点120℃以上のものが使用される。
レゾール型フェノール樹脂としては、フェノール、p-クレゾール、m-クレゾール、p-第3ブチルフェノール等のフェノール水酸基に対してo-位および/またはp-位に2個または3個の置換可能な核水素原子を有するフェノール類またはそれらの混合物とホルムアルデヒドとを、アンモニア、アルカリ金属水酸化物、水酸化マグネシウム等のアルカリ触媒の存在下において縮合反応させることによって得られるものが使用される。
これらの各成分を含有する接着剤は、メチルエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン等のケトン類、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素類などの有機溶剤単独またはこれらの混合溶剤に溶解され、溶液状として使用される。
好ましい接着剤を形成する以上の各成分は、ノボラック型フェノール樹脂100重量部に対して、レゾール型フェノール樹脂10~1000重量部、好ましくは60~400重量部の割合で用いられる。これらの各成分は、成分合計量濃度が約3~10重量%になるように有機溶剤を加え、混合、攪拌することにより加硫性接着剤として調製される。レゾール型フェノール樹脂がこれより多く用いられると、ニトリルゴム材料の接着性が低下し、一方これより少ない場合には金属面またはプライマー層との接着性低下が起こるようになり好ましくない。これらの各成分を用いての接着剤の調製は、各成分の所定量をそれぞれ有機溶剤中に溶解し、混合、攪拌することにより行われる。
金属板上への接着剤層の形成は、好ましくはプライマー層を形成させた金属板上に、上記接着剤溶液を塗布し、室温下で風乾または温風にて乾燥させた後、約100~250℃で約5~30分間程度の焼付けを行うことにより行われる。乾燥後の接着剤層の塗布厚みは、約0.5~5μm程度であることが好ましい。
接着剤層としては、一層の構成のみならず多層構成とすることもできる。例えば、プライマー層上には有機金属化合物を含むフェノール系の接着剤層を形成し、さらにその上にはフェノール系接着剤層を設けて接着剤を多段塗布した上で、ゴム層を形成させたものが挙げられる。このような構成とすることにより、接着剤層の塗布工程は増加するものの、プライマー層およびゴム層の接着性をより強固なものとすることが可能となる。
接着剤層上には、ニトリルゴムコーティング剤が約10~200μm程度の厚みとなるように塗布され、室温下で風乾または温風にて乾燥させた後、約160~250℃で約0.5~30分間程度加硫が行われる。得られたゴム金属積層体には、ゴムの粘着防止を目的として、樹脂系、グラファイト系などのコーティング剤をゴム層上に塗布することもできる。
得られたゴム積層金属は、ガスケットあるいは他の鋼板等の金属板をさらに積層させたブレーキシム材などとして用いられる。
次に、実施例について本発明を説明する。

圧縮試験評価サンプルは、次のようにして作製された。
リン酸亜鉛により表面処理されたSPCC鋼板(厚さ0.6mm)上に、フェノール樹脂をメチルエチルケトン、メタノール等の有機溶剤で固形分濃度5重量%に希釈してステンレス鋼板上に乾燥後の塗布厚3μmとなるように塗布し、室温下で乾燥させた。フェノール樹脂としては、NBRに加硫接着できるものであれば特に限定されず、例えば市販品であるダウケミカル製品シクソン715等が使用される。
リン酸亜鉛により表面処理されたSPCC鋼板(厚さ0.6mm)上に、フェノール樹脂をメチルエチルケトン、メタノール等の有機溶剤で固形分濃度5重量%に希釈してステンレス鋼板上に乾燥後の塗布厚3μmとなるように塗布し、室温下で乾燥させた。フェノール樹脂としては、NBRに加硫接着できるものであれば特に限定されず、例えば市販品であるダウケミカル製品シクソン715等が使用される。
フェノール樹脂塗布SPCC鋼板上には、上記NBRコンパウンドを有機溶剤で溶解させ、乾燥後の塗布厚80μmとなるように塗布する。
この場合の有機溶剤としては、メチルエチルケトン、酢酸エチル、トルエン等が使用される。
このようにしてNBRを塗布したステンレス鋼板は、200℃のオーブンで3分間加硫してゴム積層金属板を形成させ、さらに必要に応じて、ゴム層表面に粘着防止層を塗布する。
圧縮試験の評価は、次のようにして行われた。
ゴム積層金属板のゴム面に、ドーナツ状の凸型形状の金具を150℃で10分間所定の圧力(120MPa)で圧縮した後、ゴム層の状態を下記基準で評価した。
評価5点:金属の露出がなく、ゴムの流れも殆ど認められない

以上の各成分を用いて、実施例1と同様にゴムシートの作製、硬度の測定および圧縮試験が行われた。なお、圧縮試験後の硬度上昇は、ジチオジカプロラクタム無添加物(比較例9)と比較された。

老化防止剤CD 2 〃
加硫促進剤TT 3 〃

以上の各成分を用いて、実施例1と同様にゴムシートの作製、硬度の測定および圧縮試験が行われた。なお、圧縮試験後の硬度上昇は、ジチオジカプロラクタム無添加物(比較例9)と比較された。

Claims (6)
- NBR 100重量部に対し、硫黄1~3重量部および一般式 RN-S-S-NR(ここでRNは、S原子に結合したN原子と共に形成された環状結合基である)で表されるジスルフィド化合物1~15重量部を配合したゴム積層金属用NBR組成物。
- ジスルフィド化合物が4,4′-ジチオジモルホリンまたはジチオカプロラクタムである請求項1記載のゴム積層金属用NBR組成物。
- さらに15重量部以下の他の含硫黄加硫促進剤を配合した請求項1または2記載のゴム積層金属用NBR組成物。
- 請求項1記載のNBR組成物の加硫物層を金属板上に積層させたゴム積層金属板。
- 請求項4記載のゴム積層金属板よりなるガスケット。
- 請求項4記載のゴム積層金属板および他の金属板の積層複合金属よりなるブレーキシム材。
